Hello
I am new to the Windows Phone scene. Last week I brought the HD7 at a decent price. I followed the guide and flashed the Deepshining ROM and I am impressed with it but I would like to try a few others.....
So my question is do I need to downgrade the phone to NoDo every time I want to try a new ROM?
I'm thinking of trying nextgen+ next
Thanks in advance

No, you do not need to downgrade. It safe to flash another Rom.

u dont need to downgrade to NODO or any earlier version but however take care not to unkowingly update yr bootloader by flashing a stock rom
This happens if u update yr phone in zune or flash a stock rom that comes with the bootloader inside it
because zune updates come with bootloader
Updated bootloaders will lock yr phone and prevent u from flashing custom roms

I've been running Schubert's Mango 7720 for over a week (and love it, minus the game apps not working). But with the official release for our phones is out, I'd like to get the games working too.
When I would try to update it through Zune Software, it would say I'm up to date with the 7720.
Is there a way to downgrade to NoDo, then run the update as normal to get the official mango update?
what do you mean?
Schubert is the HD7/HD7S.
what are you trying to do exactly?
what HD7 do you have exactly and on what carrier?

makes much more sense now.
only way is to either...
flashing a NoDo ROM, then updating to Mango thru Zune, or...
flashing an official Mango ROM, or...
trying other custom ROMs...
perhaps, my intrinsicROM? it is based on the official TMOUS Mango ROM.
official NoDo and Mango ROMs can be found on the XDA Wiki Shipped ROMs page. link in my signature.
or
for custom ROMs, check out the HD7 WP7 Development thread. or for my ROM, link is in my signature.

p.s. sorry, couldn't resist 'promoting' my intrinsicROM.
ok here i go so i recently got my hd7 and I upgrade to mango before i even checked the message boards to see if i should stay on the shipped rom or upgrade. after doing the upgrade i realized that i wanted to try some of the customs roms but i cant figure out what im suppose to do i have bootloader version 4.5.2250.0(129966) firmware 2250.21.40503.531 Please help me i just got the hd7 through warranty exchange from t mobile i use to own the hd2.
to sum it all up i want to know what way if at all possible to downgrade the rom version, and how to upload a new custom rom. I got lost in the hole NoDO firmware talk when i was looking up info so please point me in the right direction.
You need to flash an official nodo rom to downgrade the bootloader. Do you have a t-mobile US version?

Hey guys newb here, Ive recently bought the HTC Inc S on the australian optus network, the thing is it came with so much crap that I dont even need,
I wanted to flash CM7.1 onto my phone but Im unable to get S-OFF due to my HBOOT being 1.16 and theres no support for it on the rev website, so is there any way for me to either get rid of all this bloatware that came with my phone or am i able to re-flash android 2.3.3 or a newer version of android available for the htc inc s that comes without all that bloatware.
This is my first HTC phone and kinda already regretting getting it, its a great phone just wish i got one with a earlier hboot version
I'm in the exact same situation, but still hesitating to go through the HTC Dev unlocking process, that apparently worked for a few guys:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301475&page=4
Also, the Optus Stock Rom works very well, no bugs or issues...The whole bloatware is very annoying, but I learned to live with it.
The thing is, you never know what type of issues you get by flashing a custom Rom... So that's another down side.
I'm not wanting to flash a custom Rom just want to flash Android 2.3.5 or 2.3.7 with out all the bloatware I thought it would be possible considering its not a custom rom is this possible? Also what's the difference between froyo, gingerbread and honeycombe I always see that popping up in the forums
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
Well, there are no "Clean" Roms out there...Except some Custom Roms like CM7, all stock Roms have some degree of bloatware.
Eclair is Android 2.1
Froyo is Android 2.2
Gingerbread is Android 2.3
Honeycomb is Android 3.0 (this version is designed for Tablets only)
Ice Cream Sandwich will be Android 4.0 (to be released on mid November this year and will be the first unified Android platform - both for phones and tablets)
Oh ok cheers thankyou, is there a link for a gingerbread download 2.3.7? Just want a fresh flash with less bloatware

As long as you can get root access even if temporary you can uninstall bloatware via titanium backup.

yes i assume you have s-on ...so try superoneclick for a temp root (which will get unrooted once u restart the device) and remove the bloatwares from titanium backup.

HI, if you really want to flash CM7 to your phone and you have HBOOT 1.16 out there, I suggest you to downgrade your HBOOT to 1.13 by using goldcard, which I did to my phone incredible S and work out successfully. then you can do the S-OFF by AlphaRev, after that get your phone rooted which I think you can find in other thread as well if u successfully downgrade HBOOT to 1.13..
I got the source from a chinese forum (downgrade to HBOOT 1.13) so I think there is a guide for that in english as well but i didn't search for it..
hope this help..

I think you can't because as I have the same sate with a Samsung Omnia 7
I do not get official update.
More... I think there is NO update 7.8 for HD7 because I have one and nothing on the air by now
First switch to OSPL, then downgrade to official 7.5, then update to 7.8 using SevenEighter.

presumably because you have Deepshining currently installed... your Schubert is already XSPL'd.
just flash a Custom ROM with WP7.8 already installed.
else
you could try updating via WP7.8 CABs.
unsure if dotcompt disabled CAB updating or not, though.
As far as I know deepshining is incompatible with .cab updating. And is not updateable through Zune. So the answer is no, you can't update this way.
But why would you like to be on official ROM anyways? I would have gotten rid of my HD7's long ago and switched to Android if they weren't with custom ROMs. IMHO our phones are nearly crippled with the official stuff. But I guess this is just my own personal point of view.

Yes you can update to 7.8 just search seveneighter that is an update program for every wp7 phone
thanks
Thank you,
I already have Custom ROM, but it is not Arabic support, that's why I need to update to original WP7.8.
I tried to use CAB filed, but it is not working.

Did you tried the source codes? https://github.com/jaxbot/wph-seveneighter
i had the same problem and i downgraded by flashing back to 7.5 but my phone doesnt get last 7.5 update even.
according to link below I am supposed to have Update 7.10.8773.98 before 7.8 update but my version is still Update 7.10.8107.79
will this be any problem to use that seveneighter if i dont have that update in between. or 7.8 update includes already that update.

I have the same phone. (T-mobile with Dynamics ROM).
If by official you mean HTC's version, then no, you will never get it because HTC has abandoned it (sounds like HTC, doesn't it).
You also said you want WP 7.8 for Arabic support -- but I thought 7.8 does NOT have Arabic (and may never get it unless M$ changes their mind).

I just hope 7.8 doesn't close any jailbreaking or unlocking loopholes.
Hi all! I recently got a Huawei P9 vodafone branded (L09C02B123) and I am very happy with it. I wanted to ask if there is a safe unlock bootloader and root guide for this version or do I have to de-brand it? And if I wanted to unroot the device can I go back to the vodafone version as it first was? And since I don't like the MIUI software (the only downside) when will the CM 13 roll out to the device?
Thanks

Hi.
Please download the SRK Tool. It can do almost anything you need on your phone.
Wrt the custom ROM, you asked, unfortunately we only have one custom ROM and one slim ROM atm.
What i did was, root, debloat the ROM myself, flash a 3rd party launcher, and flash the L Speed app from Play store.

Thanks for the answer. Your method is smart but do you know when Cyanogenmod will be launched?

Cyanogen Mode is quite different from stock version of the p9 software or variants of it. Drivers would be a great issue in that way. Since the Kirin 955 processor is relatively new and not as common as Quallcom's Snapdragon, there would be a long long way to see a Cyanogenmod for our p9s.
However it is a job for ambition and determination. So, who knows maybe one of the great developers around will take a step forward
Hi guys again, I remember I am running the EVA-L09C02B123 which is a vodafone branded version. Can I root this version? I heard that you need to de-brand it first. Is it true?
You can root it without de-branding but you must unlock the bootloader first. That's going to trigger a factory reset, so back up your stuff.
