OTG Support for Incredible S - HTC Incredible S

Hi guys, I just got out from under a rock ans realized how awesome otg is and I wanted to know how to enable it on the incredible s

ICS and JB have native OTG support, however, you'll also need a kernet with OTG support.
If you are running Froyo or GB, you'll still need a kernel with OTG support, but, also an app to enable otg support. For example "Usb Host Controller" from the Google app store.

Short said, we don't have a kernel with working otg support.

I think that there was somebody who had ported an otg patch for the IncS, but it was for a Froyo kernel .

Don't try to run a froyo ruu or radio. Will brick your device.

[Q] USB Host

What does a device need to support USB host? Is it support in a kernel, or does it require hardware differences?
Could the GT540 ever do it?

The ICS kernel source has not been released yet for the IncS, so the only choice you currently have is what is in the ARHD zip.
No other option except the stock kernel at present.
Go bug HTC and tell them to release the ICS kernel source already.

[Q] Does the stock kernel for IncS support OTG?

If not, I want to know which kernel (for ICS) supports OTG.
No. I even think our phone can't handle it anyway. Not sure in last point though.
I am sorry for the noon question. What is OTG? Outgoing?

There are a few threads about this. Just search. It's all about kernel. On android 2.2 a kernel was created but needed self powered usb cable. Lostprophet is trying to create such a kernel now. Fingers crossed and lot's of beers. Cheers

There was no need to open new thread..u won't get a reply from official developer..
So check the current status here.. (https://github.com/psyke83/android_kernel_samsung_msm)
Confirmed working:
adreno drivers
audio
battery
dpram driver
fsa9280 usb switch driver
fsr driver (internal flash working fine)
keypad
lcd panel
mmc drivers
param driver
usb/adb
Not working
accelerated video playback (works in 3.0.8, but not in 3.0.31).
accelerometer/compass sensors
touchscreen
Not yet implemented (waiting to fix other issues):
sr200pc10 camera sensor
Well I couldn't find it confirmed anywhere but will this be a revolutionary kernel for ace? What's the big changes?

It's a Fully Samsung port. He's been trying to do it for a long time now. I remember from like 2 months back or something.
@JELLYZ : It would be helpful if you provided a guide of some sort that you used to port. I mean that might help with the WiFi part for sure.

1. Stop double posting
2. Stop bumping every 3 hours.
3. Which ROM are you using as a base (although I assume you used CyanVivoX). SO the problem with Touchwiz launcher not working? Assuming I read the guide correctly, you keep the original libs of the BASE ROM. So basically you don't have the proper libs and that could be a reason why TW launcher force closes.
As for WiFi, there's the possibility that the WiFi module is incompatible or something. Its like how a bcmdhd.ko (Sense 4 WiFi module) won't work on a Sense 3.6 ROM??
For the phone rebooting, who knows? I honestly can't help much more. I'm already nearing my bandwidth limit and I can't download much more.
In all honesty, I don't know why you wouldn't contact a developer directly (whether it be Szeszo to see if he knows or to contact the team that made Fully Samsung and ask if there is a porting guide for the ROM). I think it would be better if you contacted one of those people because I think the guide you used would be more suitable for porting AOSP and AOSP bases, not really for manufacture's ROMs.
Ye cyanvivox is base rom
