Hello, I don't know whow this happened, but I just pulled my 2X out of my pocket because it got very hot. I noticed that it was stuck on the bootscreen. After I pulled out the battery and rebooted, I was welcomed with a message by Whatsapp telling me that my IMEI has changed.
Now this is funny. I have no idea how this happenend but my IMEI has been changed to my baseband version:

Fortunately I have written down my original IMEI when I got the phone, so I have my own IMEI here. I only need a way to revert it. If someone knows how, please tell me! I have found an answer in this forum which states that it is not possible... Well, it must be if this could happen!

Btw, this took 20 seconds, by typing "restore IMEI o2x" in search bar, so as always: Read, read, read, try, try and then ask. I am constantly amazed how many helpful and skilled people are here.
I appreciate your answer, but I also searched the O2X forums and found that post. That USSD code does not work for me, phone just says it's an invalid USSD code. I think it only works on LG stock firmware. I am using temasek's CM7 build 135.2.
Then backup your Rom, flash stock or rebuild and do process. Then restore. Simple as banana.

I bought my samsung galaxy S a month ago, with froyo JHJP4 on it. so the rom is not the original obviously.
I noticed that some apps (especially huge apps, like some navigation software) or appbrain web intstall ...etc. they require a unique ID.
now I have been reading all night, it seems that everyone is saying to return to the original firmware and get the ID then go back to you ROM.
now that's a lot of work, and a little risky for me.
my current ID is the one you all know :d : 9774d56d682e549c
so my questions are:
1- how can I get the original android device ID without having to flash the original firmware?
2- is there a method to generate an ID and then use 'android ID changer' to change the ID?
thx.
Just make one up, it'll be fine.

ID number
Hey,
Just do a quick search for appbrain web install problems. There is a post in one of the other forums explaining how to change the id. You can either use adb, or copy the file to your pc and use adb on the pc to insert your new id. I have done it a couple of times now to make appbrain web installer work. All I did was make up a 16 digit number for myself.

Sorry for the noob question here, but where can you find your Android ID if you're on the stock rom?
you can see your current ID by installing 'Android ID Changer' from the market, you can also change the ID with the same app.
update on my situation: I upgraded my firmware from JHJP4 to JPJPG then installed Ultimate ROM (XXJPY). when I installed android ID changer it gave me a different ID than the one mentioned in my original post. I googled the new ID >>> 0 hits
gps aps usually generate an id from the imei of the phone.

I think I solved the problem by soldering it down.Btw. is this the WiFi antenna or the Network Antenna
I don't get any Network Connection.
And also it doesn't ask for my pin......
If I dont't insert an SIM there should be written "please insert sim card"
But there is no message like this.
at first when I openend the Phone to change the LCD there was even just for a short time Network Connection....
but then it disappeared again, after I reassembled everything...
I tried to open it again and see if there is any connectivity, but there wasn't...
right now I don't know if it`s an Hardware or Software problem.
I have read in many many threads that a software issue (with missing .nv_data.bin) or damaged efs partition would also show
Baseband unknown and no IMEI and others like this, but didn`t found an thread with hardware bug.....But in my EFS folder, there isn't an .nv_data.bin.bak or just .nv_data.bin
I really spend many hours looking this up (i used searchfunction ) so I really hope you guys to help me.... :good:
Infos about software of phone
Do you guys think replacing the Sim Card Reeader would do the job?
Oh but it DO recognice my microSD card....So is this the problem?
But.....like I described up there...I won't get any "please insert sim card" or "please enter pin".
I spend many hours looking up for different solutions and problems , but didn't find anything.
I have tried so far:
+flashing an -3 part stock firmware via Odin
- one part stock firmware via Odin
+flashing param_data.bin via Odin
+and many other things....
Thanks in advance, NinDTendo

Hello new friends.
My little brother and his inventive mind were messing around with his phone and this started to show up:

(btw, I tried what it says on the screen.. did nothing.. also trying to flash a new rom did nothing)
I know little about Motorola phones and rooting in general... all i can do is "root" samsung with silly Odin software (easymode right?)
I gave the phone to a friend and after some examination he said that somehow my little brother managed to "delete and/or corrupt" the phones main partition. whatever that means... He was unable to do a hard reset because at some point the phone said there was a problem with one of the partitions.
Now.. while I dont know much about android and motorola, im great following directions.
is there a humanly possible way to fix this?
I can get to this menu below, but everything I touch goes back to bootloader message:
Additional info with numbers mumblejumble:
Thanks in advance,
Dan.

as I understand it this is only the bootloader unlocked, the phone works regularly only that at the time the alert you. There are two ways to avoid this annoying message:
1 relock the bootloader
2 use an alternative screen that hides the annoying warning.
before re-locking take a deep DELETE and uses a script to reload a ROM from scratch
Find it all on xda !!!! look!
Unlocked my new Mi9 today after a week of waiting and flashed 9.3.28 Xiaomi EU rom on it (latest 10.3, dont want 10.4 yet) and.. I can't seem to get past the setup phase, it keeps asking me to "Confirm your password" and allowing only numbers to enter. Using twrp 3.3.0 v11. And yes, I DID format it, but it just can't seem to get past this phase. I've googled up various exploits that let you log in to google before that step using youtube or calling, but they don't seem to be working for me. Could really need some help with this.
could you post a picture?...is it asking to activate your XIAOMI-Account?
Xiaomi account logs in fine, it has something to do with google.

Hi,
i had the same problem and found this solution on reddit
Edit: I found the craziest solution on an obscure forum online. Editing this post instead of deleting incase anyone else has this problem. When you're at the wi-fi activation step, click on your wi-fi and try to change the password. Type your own phone number (or anyone elses). Click the eye icon to see your own password and highlight the text. Press "call". Enter your number as a new contact in your caller app and press "share". Share the contact with Gmail. When it asks you to enter an email, click on the "other" button. Enter an email. Choose the "exchange" option, then click "change certificate". You will be able to make a new PIN code instead of entering one.

Hope this will work for you too
I've had that problem on other phones if I didn't remove my screen lock and Google account from the phone before flashing and I was using an unnoficial TWRP build. Google FRP doesn't tend to play well with TWRP (sometimes even official builds) and it looks like Google FRP is what is causing your problem.
You should use TWRP 3.3.0 by wzsx, for xiaomi.eu rom it's the best working one.
Hello.
So i wanted to changed the rom, and Xiaomi Flash Tool crashed, it hardbricked the phone.
After 1 weeks of trying to repair the phone, i did it but the IMEI code was deleted.

I tried to set it in the MTK Engineering Mode, but i could not set it because the option was not here.
I also tried other app that could change the IMEI code (with the help of the root), but nothing, until i found out later that there's no EFS folder in the phone.
I only found out this folder :
(NVD_IMEI)
(Content of NVD_IMEI)
Can somebody help me ?
Thanks.

Update : I try with usb but now it stuck on Connect to MD
After a "modeswitch" most probably the device will connect as a different USB device which will need a driver. It takes some time and often needs manual installation when this happens. Check the device manager for the newly appeared unknown device and check the driver...
