Hi guys, i have 2X for about 3 mounth and now i want to start playing games like a pro - with controller. Which scould i buy, i have XBOX conroller but as much as i know u cant pair it with 2X. Or can i buy PS3 controler and play any game without a problem? And can u play any game with it, not only emulators ?
first of all u need to install sixaxis app to be able to play using controller.
xbox controller will mostly not work so yes u need to buy ps3 controller.
there's no guarantee that all games will work, as i cant play dead trigger using controller, maybe my mistake but will look at it later

i bought an iPega controller from China that works perfectly fine with Dead Trigger, Shadowgun Deadzone, and some emulators. It has an issue with GTA VC though.

I love playing games trough the HDMI port but a few games like Fruit Ninja is too hard because you cant look at the TV and slice the fruits perfectly...
But playing Asphalt 5 and Cordy is fun as h*ll!

Dudes, I played 2 player SNES with 2 iControlpads on my bigscreen. Worked PERFECTLY. It's like I owned a SNES again!
Any chance that we could use a real gamepad on the optimus 2x?
You can use so many emus and the virtual gamepad just sucks .
I agree, thats why I was asking about Wii conroller compatibility few days ago, some android phones are working with it already
The wii controller works great on cm7 use it a lot I connect my o2x to the projector and leave it on the sofa and use the wii controller to play emus
PCE emu thats really the best to control it has built in wii controller support so you don't need to use the touchscreen at all to select games and stuff.
I felt like playing some older games and thinking about maybe buying a game controller and some emulator for the older NES & SNES. Anyone have experience on both the emulator and/or the controller. Which to buy? I was hoping something not too big for the controller, but I want to make sure it's future proof and maybe to run something like older PS1 game also. Aside from gaming on the HD+, I may want to hook up to my Galaxy Note II and play on that instead. Depending on the occasion.

If it's older than ps1 then I advice just buying a wii controller, they work great with old games, lol super mario bros. (original.) You can install an app which lets you communicate with the remote and use it to control the nook (when your in a game it'll control the game itself, not the nook) , all you need is root and google play store.
Just look up wii controller, there's dozens of em.
As well as that, you can download an app to use either your nook, or your galaxy note II as a controller itself, though it does use wifi and will have a minor delay. (annoying, I know.)
Or you could buy a Bluetooth controller, works with IOS and Android. they range from 20 bucks to 80. be careful which you pick, because each game requires a set of buttons. and some controllers wont have them. (the 80 buck ones come with all your needs.)
I wonder if the new wii u pro controller will work. but i've had excellent luck with both a dualshock 3 and a wiimote with pro controller (no root required for that one). you might just want to grab the MOGA controllers since they're widely supported for android already AND have a built in holder for you smartphone that supports the newer large screen phones. i realize this is an OLD post but there has been plenty of headway made on this front.
Hey guys! I have recently updated to Android 4.2.2 and got the new Dualshock app which comes with the rom. But it doesn't seem to work pretty well with some apps like Real racing 3 or Dungeon Hunter 4 and I was just wondering is there an app or a way to manually assign buttons to the Dualshock controller ?

Sixaxis controller is the best !! It's a little bit roughly to configure but then it works like a charm !!

im using xperia SP C5302, locked, rooted, stock 254
im an avid gamer, n having a bit of a problem
im currently using RAM manager to help me play games, im also using sixaxis controller to help me play some games using DS3 controller
the problem is with asphalt 8
any other games like fifa 14 or modern combat 4 doesnt have any problem while im using sixaxis controller, with hard multitasking setting
but with asphalt 8, just 1 minute into the game, and the sixaxis is closed, hence my bluetooh conection to my DS3 is terminated.
anyone else having this problem? or any solution?

good news my friend, just found out about an app called memory locker. with that i can lock sixaxis controller so it cannot be killed, and i can play asphalt 8 and real racing 3 without losing connection to my controller

Thank You. I though that in case of low memory sixaxis app was killed, but I tried to find solution without installing any more apps (memory eaten ).
But I didn't. And have to install this app I didnt thought that Real Racing have to had much more RAM than NOVA.

yeah me too. it kinda shock me too when modern combat didnt give any issue but these 2 racing games did
