Go to this key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\KeyState]
Then add this value: "application_btn_vibrate3"=dword:1
to add the value, go to settings in registry editor in the described directory and choose "new value"
valuename: application_btn_vibrate3
value data: 1
value type: Dword
This will disable the vibration for the three touch keys ( back, home, search) and increase the battery life significantly.... If u want the vibration back then just change the value to 0
known long ago....
Thanks for the info!! I did not know long time ago!!! I'll have to give it a try and see if it helps me out.
it definitely does....im testing this and a few other reg tweaks and seeing how long my battery will last...ill post the results with some screenshots soon
Thanks vor this tweak. I'm glad to get ride of this anoying vibration. If this saves measurable power that would be perfect

Im using custom Intrinsic ROM now....will post the battery life pics in some time.....
Searching for other tweaks too
Using Intrinsic rom apply it. Switch off and on my Hd7 thought my understanding the 3 button deactivated but it still vibrate.
Edit: delete it and apply new ones(dword)string b4. And now it work.
i have this tweak applied in my custom evolution 7 rom
u will see a battery life increase in standby time
Thanks...will try...
Is there a reg tweak to make the automatic brightness levels range from
0-10.
The HD7 is considerably bright even in a pitch dark room. But if you change the brightness from Auto to Low. Its significantly low.
Can anyone please look into this. Thanks.

basically the HD7 can up the brightness under direct sunlight. but when come into the shade , the brightness does not go down.
need to press and awake the phone for the sensor to adjust to the shade

wait !! how is that ??
how can it up the brightness but not lower it down..
the hd7 was almost build on the same hardware as the hd2...and hd2 could do it..i know the OS was different...but still...i assume it works well on other phones !!! and how is it smart..if its not auto...
Yup that's the major defect!!
You can see the display when outdoors cuz the brightness automatically adjusts itself...but when u come back indoors the screen still remains bright....
I looked into the brightness registries and I didn't find anything to change to make it work properly :/
I guess that's it with brightness of hd7 :/
IF HD2 can do it , why not HD7 which is newer?
Maybe someone can find something in the registry to modify auto brightness to work like HD2 ?

yes, when it adjusts itself to the ourdoot brightness, it does it quite well too, like 2-3 step increment ( u can see the brightness going up 2 steps depending on the ambient sunlight). THis means the sensor is on and running all the time when u have the screen turned on
but go back to indoors, it doesnt adjust down.
still pondering how is that they make it this way? Does not make sense
Ya even was searching for the LED for the SMS notification....no success!!

How can i access registry files of hd7
Sometimes (wife & kids asleep, me not so much) i want to keep playing with my note in complete darkness and the lowest brightness setting is just too bright. Is there some tweak/mod to lower it even more?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
there is in the build.prop file but doesnt seem to work.. atleast for me.
ro.lcd_min_brightness=40
may be some sort of app will do the job for you

PS: read review before trying
Yup, another vote for Screen Filter here, I use it every night, works very well.
I use manual brightness, lowest stock setting, and 20% on Screen Filter, for reading in darkness.
---------- Post added at 12:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:39 AM ----------
Oh, one other thing: at those settings, the screen will be almost unreadable in daylight, which can be a pain to recover from.
So I have a Tasker task setup to return Screen Filter to 100% at e.g. 7am.
This is just what I need. Thanks!
Great, thank you very much! Exactly what I needed! :good:
Just to add... at those low settings, colours will be washed out, and black crush evident. It's fine for reading, though.
I've been applying assorted mods and V6 Supercharging lately just to see what all I can do before I break stuff. Well, I broke Active Display and I wasn't sure what did it. I restored back to stock 4.4 and noticed that Active Display breaks when I change the LCD density lower than 320 (I'm using 280). After the phone goes to sleep a few times, it wacks out and won't let me unlock it. Shortly after it soft reboots and Active Display no longer works.
Has anyone else noticed this problem and were you able to make Active Display work with the lower density?

The thing with changing DPI is it makes the active display go off center, and thus crash sometimes. Change back the DPI of Active Display only to stock 320 while keeping the rest of the system on 280.

I didn't know you could do that. I'm on AT&T 4.4, how would I change just AD to 320? I only know how to change system through build.prop.
I found that if you change certain apps that you have set up to show notifications in active display, if you adjust the DPI you'll lose the pictures for the notification. For example, change the Messaging app to something other than 320. Poof, No more pictures.

While in recovery, change Active Display to 320 in App Settings module, build.prop to 280 (or whatever number you desire). Reboot, profit
Also, if anyone wants tablet mode for certain apps (I use mine on GMail, go to App Settings module, select the particular app, change DPI to around 220, and DP to 800X1280)
So I finally got around to refreshing my phone. 280 in build.prop with 320 set for active display makes the phone right where I want it with resolution and size
My new favorite phone of all time. And I don't even have AOKP, and never will

You have to install Xposed and the module App Settings. Once you've rebooted and Xposed is active, go into App Settings and set the DPI on Active Display to 320. Then set your DPI in build.prop to whatever you want. Reboot and enjoy.

I'm trying many things in my new Nexus 6 with Android 5.1.1 (LMY47Z). Xposed, kernels, apps, etc. Unfortunately Xposed is in alpha state, and some modules are producing bootloops in my phone.
I disable Xposed with a script in TWRP and the phone boots, but for some reason the cache needs to be recreated again and again.
This leaves the device 10-20 minutes with a big static dialog window with white background in middle of the screen, with brightness set to maximum.
I don't think this makes any good for the burn-in issues that AMOLED screens typically get.
I'm setting the color calibration with Franco Kernel app, so the color is adjusted when the phone boots.
My great plan was to make an init.d script run before boot to set the colors low (around 50-100 RGB) so the brightness will be low, let the cache be recreated and then restore the default colors (255 RGB) with Franco app when phone is booted and in launcher screen, but we don't have init.d support.
I think the Google's idea of letting a static picture running a lot of minutes in maximum brightness is very bad.
Some idea to reduce brightness before the cache creation process?
Thank you very much.
It can't be done. Boot animation is always full brightness. When the phone is nearly booted, youll see the brightness lower. That's the earliest it could be done (and is done any way)
There's really no need to be so careful with the screen. It's designed to go bright
Thank you for your answer!
That last answer is not true, you can set whatever brightness you want in the ramdisk before booting - send me your boot.img if you still have this issue.

The goal here isn't to point out what he himself can or can't do, it's to help solve his problem - which I offered to do. I guess another solution would to be reinstalling his ROM and clearing out all that Xposed junk causing loops.

Interesting to know.
Although that may be a problem if you're having issues in a bright environment and the sunlight may obscure the animation to the point where you can't tell if its booting or not, so if its going to be done, set a non-black bootanim.
That said, you're still solving a non-issue so notnreally worth the effort imho

Yep, not that good but then had no problems with cellular calls from either SIM. I could be missing something but then I literally scanned the entire settings but couldn't find a workaround for showing signal status of SIM 2 in status bar.
Plus I did find a menu for choosing what navbar buttons do but no option to toggle navbar lol.
Although I couldn't get Xposed working on this ROM and neither SuperSU. Although the ROM is pre-rooted but procedure for granting root access to an app will at least take you 25 seconds which is such a pain in the **s.
But then I'm going to use it for at least a few days. Never thought MiUi will ever be this stable for our device
