[Q] CSC is stuck. Help appreciated.

Hi all!
Back when Gingerbread got released in Italy, I flashed my P1000 Tab with the Italian software and changed the CSC to ITV. Now that Gingerbread is released in Asia, I installed DXJPC, and changed the CSC to my country's CTC which is XTC. I used * # 272 * imei # to change it. Everything is fine however when I connect to Kies it shows my CSC as Italy. Why is it stuck?
In Kies it shows PDA:JPC / PHONE:JPC / CSC:JPC (ITV)
It should be XTC because in the CSC selection menu I selected XTC. Why won't it change from ITV?

Kies are dumbA** , don't focus on it , even me i tried manytimes even though i get back to froyo with my stock rom and the dirty A**hole is showing me that in UK .. LMAO ..

Haha! I know it sucks but I just want to experience the update officially. It would be nice if Kies did work, even just once.

I think the problem is that your previous ROM is Italian.
What i did is flash back stock ROM (Asian DXJK2), change the CSC to my country's (XSO) and Kies detect my tab correctly and do the Gingerbread update with the same CSC.

Yep yep! Figured out the same solution and used Kies to update to Gingerbread too. Everything is fine now. I recorded the process in another thread. Thanks for the reply!

[Q] Firmware update problem

I flashed my phone a while back with a 2.36 firmware, i wasn't really sure what i was doing but it worked ok but said that doesn't support uprgrading via kies. I just flashed it again with a samsung firmware version :
PDA I9000XXJW4 CSC I9000OXAJW4 from samfirmware but it still says the same in kies. i noticed that under firmware information it says:
Current firmware version: I9000XXJW4/I9000OXAJW4/I9000OXXJW4/I9000OXXJW4 (KOR) i thought this was a UK/IRE firmware, could someone explain to me why it's saying (KOR)?
i beleived (perhaps incorrectly) that i could go back to original samsung software at a later stage.

Galaxy note update error

Hi guys i am not able to update gnote through kies.error somelike your device is not supported"
I bought this from KSA and trying to update in India.
Currently i m using 2.3.6
Pls help on this guys

You need to check your firmware. If your note using India Firmware. You should change your CSC to INU. INU is India CSC. Warning if you change your CSC it will wipe all your data from your note.

Your ROM is non indian, you can't update from kies in india
Use PC odin to update manually.
without SHOUT also you will get help here. keep patience.

i have the same problem now i flashed the inu rom with odin on a saudian rom now i changed the csc to inu as well and i still can't update through kies and wifi

Hey there
i had the same problem,
1. try to put in the your country ICS ROM
2. unstall kies and then download a fresh copy from samsung site and then connect it hope that would work.

OTA update failed !?
Recently i got a software update request [OTA] for 36MB. I just downloaded the update[3 times in a row]. but every-time after the phone boots, i get copy media files failed ?? and every ten minutes I'm getting the pop-up "firmware update failed please use pc-kies or contact nearest samsung service center".

you can download a stock GB from from dr. ketan's thread and flash it.
Or if you prefer ICS you can download it and flash but do not perform a wipe/factory reset once you are on ICS as the dangers of bricking is there.

Can anyone help me out which indian firmware should i install as i see there there are multiple India Firmware.

I've run into a similar problem with my International Galaxy Note. I am unable to update via Kies, I get the message that my device does not suport updating via Kies. the phone info is;
Model Number; GT-N7000
Android Version; 2.3.5
Baseband; N7000XXKJ4
Kernel; 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKJ4-CL641703 [email protected] #2
Build number; GINGERBREAD.XXKJ4
I dont know if this is of any help, but Kies lists the firmware version as: PDA:KJ4 / PHONE:KJ4 / CSC:KJ4 (KOR)
I just want to upgrade to ICS, should I follow the advice from above? Or is there something else I should try?

You should install your country firmware from dr.ketans thread with the help of odin and then update the firmware with the help of kies.
I think it should work.I too ask the same question as u did.i was advised by the same and its working fine.........

If you do not want to root and keep your warrenty too, you may not take full benefits of this forum. But that is not the point. As long as you are not rooted, you can approach samsung service center, they provide complete assistence of software and hardware problems. whether the help is direct or indirect, you shall get it here, in this forum. In my opinion, the day is not far, when you will be asking 'how to root' etc.(ofcourse if are adventurous)

help update to german version!!!

I have downloaded and installed Country/Carrier Date Android PDA CSC
Greece 2012 July 4.0.4 N7000XXLRI N7000OXXLP8
from sammobile .. But it doesnt have the picture in picure feature yet in that version. Also i have noticed that the german version has better upgades and that the battery keeps longer.. So i have decided to install this one .. but i want to know if there is going to be any problem because my phone has a lot of csc codes but not dbt. will there be any problem when i install it??? do i need to choose from the ones that my phone has the csc code installed????

or are they preinstalled fron samsung and they cant be changed ....? Because i would like to change it back to my countrys csc code..

I guess it will remain on ur country's code only cuz when I installed a diff country's firmware on my note the csc retained

As nokiamodeln91 said, csc will remain. It won't cause any problems to have the csc set to anything other than Dbt.

What i want to ask is that my phone doesnt have at csc list the code dbt which represents germany, will i have any problem after installing the german firmware without having the dbt code at my phones list?

no problem..except may be kies / ota updates.. but then u can always download the latest version from sammobile

Actually if you flash by pc odin or mobile odin the csc code is completely obsolete. It matters for ota/ kies updates only.

I totally agree. When I flashed XXLRT I got from sammobile, and never bothered with Kies again. PC Odin was more reliable, having more control with the download and flashing. The release of Germany updates is also sooner than Kies or OTA for other phone.

problem is on kies its shows ur firmware does not support update through kies.
my csc is SER and firmware is I9070XXLQ4 i need ser CSC file to flash with odin bcoz i messed up my csc with flashing ginger bread on it. now its shows on kies ITV CSC.
please be kind to give me a sperate CSC file for SER version thanks.

Well, if you still have the I9070XXLQ4 firmware that http://www.hotfile.com/dl/193240094/4c07575/I9070XXLQ4_I9070SERLQ4_SER.zip.html extract it and flash the CSC file only.
Flash it using odin.http://www.mediafire.com/?7v7zor9d379emeg.
This is just an option and theory only.
I'm not responsible if you brick yours

All csc files are included in the rom.
Use some csc changer app from the market!

yes shaaan but i have reflashed now 3 times, still says ITV on kies. 1st day was ok. all heppened after i downgraded and re installed JB over GB

But,shaan..i've done before with my wife phone..
With galaxy GT5360.
And,successful change the CSC with stock one,flashing usin odin.
That's why i'v said in THEORY.
Correct me if i'm wrong,and i'm sorry about that.

csc apps wont work galaxy advance.
but i did a cashe clear and recconect to kies.......now everything is ok.....what a mess guys.......
