My feedback:
I did't burn them for 50 hours yet, but I surprised, the sound is veeeery good. If you have any good experience with the sound and your want quality for a good amount, I would definitely recommend it, because this is the best choice.(I'm also proud to put them on the shelf with my Sennheiser M550 and Sennheiser HD650)
Regards.

It seems like a very good headphone. Can you confirm if the controls are fully working with SGNII please ?

Wow... No headphones are worth $120... That's just a ridiculous price! I wouldn't pay more than £20 for a pair...

so you haven't experienced good music. Try one of those or Bose In-Ear headphones. It will be a life-changer !

^ Nope. I don't use anything in-ear at all as they constantly fall out.
You'll never convince me that it costs anything close to $120 to make a pair of earbuds. The hardware inside them isn't going to cost more than a couple of bucks at the absolute maximum. You're letting yourself get ripped off.

To be honest, we're being ripped off on a daily basis starting with the price of the galaxy note II. Nowadays if a person wants a good quality product he has to PAY for it. Better to get ripped off with a decent product rather than getting ripped off with a ****ty one.

I have the older version of the s4 and they sound great....don't remember paying 120 bucks for it though....more like 40 bucks I think

But you have a €600 phone? Do you then also feel that no phone is worth more than €80? Is a €80 phone as good as the one you're now holding?
What a puzzling comment. Have you ever listened to a well-recorded SACD with good headphones (high end Sennheiser, Grado, HiFiMAN or the like?)
I guess though if you listen to Nicki Minaj in 128kbps MP3 while riding a motorcycle it doesn't matter, but once you have experienced music in high definition there is no going back.
See the difference between YouTube 240p and 1080p? That difference exists in music also.

Sorry, but there's no way EARBUDS are ever going to be that much different in quality. Proper headphones can be much better without a problem, there's plenty of space for the hardware, but not earbuds.
I've tried cheap, reasonable, and expensive ones; I can't hear any difference.
As for your phone analogy, it fails for so many reasons it'd take too long to list them.

I can sure hear the difference between €20 earbuds and good ones. No question about that. Though maybe "expensive" by your standards means Sennheiser CX-300.
I don't think it fails at all.
A Nissan Micra will also take you to the shop, but it's a noisy, uncomfortable ride compared to doing the same trip in a Volvo XC90.
You can watch House on a 17" computer monitor, and the story of the episode will be no different compared to you watching it on a nice plasma screen, but it will be more enjoyable on the plasma.
You can have a cheeseburger at McD, or a garlicy rack of lamb at a nice restaurant - both will be satisfying but I bet the rack of lamb will be a nicer experience for most people.
Those all fail miserably too, though, right?

None of those things compare to microelectronics, where really, size can and does make a difference. They cannot pack high quality, 'hi fidelity' components into a tiny space like a pair of earbuds like they've made you believe; there's a point where you hit diminishing returns in the audio reproduction. You'll get better construction, you'll get better styling, and to a limited extent, you'll get improved dynamic frequency response than the el cheapo $3.99 earbuds, but NEVER enough difference to justify such a ridiculous price difference.
The components in those $120 earbuds won't cost more then a few bucks at most. You're being ripped off and what's worse, you totally fell for the marketing BS.

If you mean the new version, they sound nice enough and the Play/Pause/Call button works, as does the Mic, but the volume buttons do not work.
Volume buttons tend to be the main thing that don't work with Android smartphones, so when somebody finds a good quality earphone with working Play/Pause/Call button as well as working volume buttons, please let me know!

If it was only marketing BS, tell me why many professionals would used expensive IEMs (often costing more than 1000$) instead of headphones ?!
It's true that usually the higher price you pay for a product the less value per $ you get, but it's the case for every single product. And it doesn't mean there is no difference between 20$ and 100$ earbuds. You probably had a bad experience that's all, don't transform anecdotal evidence into generality.

Headphone burn-in is fake by the way.

I'm in audiophile buddy and let me just say there is a huge difference between a 10 dollar pair for f****** headphones versus 100 dollar pair. it's the material that they use, what kind of driver that they use, etc...
it's kind of like car audio would you rather spend let say 40 bucks for some cabinet speakers versus maybe one that might cost you 160 dollars but they are the out most best ones you can find, superior quality and superior sound. the klipsch s4's that I have the original set they have so much bass in them just for some earbuds that they are outstanding for 70 dollars. and I have the regular samsung galaxy note 2 earbuds and they sound like s***. your cheapskate and that's the problem. it's almost like this is well he's another scenario if I buy a BMW 5 Series and I hate BMW I'm just saying if I bought a BMW 5 Series and I decided to go put some tires maybe 60 dollar tires on them let's see how that works out for you.

Question for the Audiophiles on XDA - Need recommendation

I am looking for a good set of in ear headphones to replace my Dr. Dre beats. I know some on here have commented on said headphones in a negative light, but they do have great bass, but not so great treble. Also, they always seem to slip out of my ear.
Can someone point me in the direction of a good set of in ear headphones. Ones that would be wrap around the ear would be even better. I have been looking at some of the Shure headphones, but have yet to pull the trigger.
Any recommendations would be great, even better with somewhat of an explanation as to why I should get the suggested headphones and any personal experience with your own.
Thank you, MSD
Shure all the way. The more you spend, the better quality you get (SE 535 are amazing). Second goes to Etymotic Research ER4 line.
Either are light-years beyond all other in-ears.
This from a Sennheiser HD800 headphone fan.
-Adam
I just bought bose MIE2 mobile headset for 140 bucks at best buy, and the quality is amazing. Works with all music button clicks, and in line Mic is mind blowing good.
I'm looking into the SE535s as we speak. I was wondering if you have these and were willing to share your experience with them (sound quality, comfort, gym use). That would be great.
For in ears, my previous favorite for years had been the Etymotic ER4. With a good, sealed, in-ear fit, nothing could come close to the flat frequency response through a delicious mid-range all the way up to the limits of high-frequency audibility. Bass was thin, however, but acceptable.
The Shure 535 replicate the incredible, crystalline flat-response of the Etymotics, but add a rich, accurate, fast bass to the mix and are a better headphone for it. They are comfortable for a good in-ear seal.
Now, nothing is better than a good headphone amp and a pair of balanced Sennheiser HD800s with an HD audio source and a good DAC - but for compressed music on a portable player, the Shures are state-of-the-art.
I have a buddy that works for Shure as an engineer. I'm going to see if he can get me a better price. I read about 5 reviews and each states the same you did. These seem like the right fit for me.
Thanks adamsfbay for your help.
Also, RogerPodacter, thanks for telling me about the MIE2s. I checked them out, but I'm not a fan of Bose. I have a pair of AIAIAI y-com greys for use with phone conversations.
Sidenote, AIAIAI is a great headphone company from Denmark if anyone is interested in their style, kinda funky www.aiaiai.dk
Shures are awful. My SE210s just fell apart after a years use. The cable split, the jack shorted, and the rubber on the housings peeled off.
I've had nothing but good luck with the Etymotic sets I've owned. Their customer service is fantastic, and the IEMs themselves are world class. My ER6s lasted four years with constant use, and the hf5s that replaced them have been flawless.
Get a set of hf5s, you won't be disappointed. If you have extra cash, spring for the custom fit option. I LOVE mine.
What's your budget? $500 for the 535's? Checkout Future Sonics Atrio M5, nice warm sounds and amazing low-end, they can be had for well under $2bills and can't be beat by anything under $350.
You might not have heard of Future Sonics before but they are one of the industry leaders in concert and studio in-ear and reference monitors. These guys know their ****.
Thanks for the input, ill check those out. More recommendations are never a bad thing. Thanks XDAers

It is a bit much for any average listener, but for the audiophile hearing even the most minute difference in sound can mean a much better experience. Just like most of XDA, we are phone enthusiasts, but than there are so many other things that everyone seems to enjoy. If your $4 dollar headphones do the trick than thats not a bad thing, but going from $4 to $300 headsets is like going from standard definition TV to high definition TV. To each their own.
I know I saw above that they didnt hold up but I have had my se210 set for a little over a year and they still look and perform like new. Sound pretty good to me and I do have a decent ear. Use B&K Home system thru NAD stuff etc.
No expert, just I can tell the difference between different speakers or headphones.
What's your budget? Care to venture into the area of customs?
I have the JH Audio JH5 for $399, and they're awesome..
Good alternatives to the SE535 are the Westone IEM's, the Sennheiser IE8 if bass is your thing. These threads at Head-Fi might help you out, make a solid choice for yourself.

External Speaker

Just purchased a X-Mini II Capsule speaker for the Nook. This little speaker really rocks compared to the internal speaker. It has a rechargeable battery that charges through any computer USB port. Bought in off Amazon for $25.00 but looks like it's on sale now for $16.97. I could barely hear movies before using the internal speaker, usually just hooked up headphones. With this little speaker, I had the volume all the way up and the wife's yelling at me in the next room to turn it down.

awesome. Some guy had a video review of his so you get an idea on volume etc. I went ahead and ordered one. This will be perfect for my travels for work. Thanks for sharing
Love the picture frame holder stand too.
I have one that looks just like that. Sound is excellent and bought it on ebay for $4.95, search for usb hamburger speaker.
***Update mine does not have a rechargeable battery. Works via usb or dc cord.***
Your little speaker looks like a nice find. Just one question before making the jump, how do you find the battery life on this speaker? Hours...a full day...any, observations regarding battery life would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Haven't really tested the battery life out yet. But my grandson watched 2 movies, I watched one. Streamed Pandora for about 2 hours and still running on intial charge. It doesn't have any battery indicator and the manual says it's get about 12 hours before needing a recharge.
You can probably find them cheaper on Ebay. Take the plunge, you'll enjoy it!

I wonder can you plug also ear plugs/phones into that ball? and what happens?
Great find anyway. Hopefully someone will find a similar stereo pair of small speakers, to use fixed on that "plate holder" you use for your NC.
Other ways to deal with the NC audio problem -- within the NC itself -- are discussed in my blog: fineoils.blogspot.com.

The X-Mini has another 3.5mm audio jack on it. You can daisy chain as many of the speakers as you want. I hooked up headphones to it last night and they work also.
Want I really want is the bluetooth chip enabled on the NK. They I can use my bluetooth headphones.
The 2 pack from Buy.com looks like a good deal. Not sure on how the "Glow LED power indicator ring adds night time ambiance" feature will affect batter life though.

I received mine today. The sound is decent. Definitely a boost compared to Nooks regular speaker. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like you can daisy chain these together. I figured all of these would be the same. Should of researched them a little better. It looks like the other ones cost about $20 a piece. So you are looking at a minimum of $40 to daisy chain. The battery life doesnt appear to be as long on these as on the others. I believe these only last a few hours. The others ones I have seen are suppose to last up to 11 hours. I dont know if I would put a lot of money into the other ones anyways. A lot of people have complained on the battery dying after awhile and the only way they could use them was if they were plugged into the usb. Not bad though for the price and still sounds better then the Nook speaker alone.
the x-mini are the original capsule/hamburger speakers. they are by far the best compared to any other ones out there. they also manufacture for ihome so mini ihome speakers are made by x-mini.
they also come in stereo:

Thanks for the feedback on battery life. Reading the posts following your observation, It seems you sparked further feedback from others regarding cheaper less desirable speaker versions, ones that I can now be sure to avoid. Thanks from a frugal (sounds better than cheap) poster.

I don't have enough posts for a link yet but try a google search (amazon logitech clip on speakers).
I'm wondering if these would work, it seems like they only output the sound through USB though. These would be great if someone could figure out how to get around the whole driver /install/sound output through usb issue.

I use this. It's the same width as the short side of the NC & 3/4" D. Sounds pretty good, not great, but increases the volume pretty well. Compact form factor for easy portability. $15 USD at Walmart & Target.

Review of Jaybird BlueBuds X Bluetooth wireless headphones w/pics!!!

This is a review for Jaybird BlueBuds X Bluetooth wireless headphones: http://www.jaybirdgear.com/bluebuds-x-bluetooth-headphones/
I'm going to be honest with you, I was skeptical when I approached the review these buds. People say not to judge the book by it's cover - the cover for this "book" was a premium price tag and heavy connection with athletic world. I wasn't really sure how it's going to fit with everyday use (not just sports), how will it integrate with Android phone such as Note 2 (considering Apple store is one of their top authorized resellers), and in general how comfortable it's going to fit. Sound quality wasn't even at the top of my expectation list, just hoping it wasn't influenced by yet another music celebrity who thinks we only care about exaggerated bass. With all that said, I got a review sample directly from Jaybird and have been testing it for the last couple of days.
First, let's start with a packaging it came in. In additional to original retail package, I also received a small traveling case which is definitely of a premium quality that kind of sets the tone of what to expect. That was a top notch premium box with a magnetic flap that opens up to reveal the goodies available inside. I know you want to read more about headphones itself, but I have to mention this is a very high quality packaging on par, if not even better, with some of the best top price headphones. Everything from a little rectangular box with manual book and a separate 20% liquipel coupon (to use for any of your other gadget since BlueBuds X already comes protected by Liquipel nano sweat/water repellent), to another hard clam case that looks like something for your wife's jewelries, and even usb to micro-usb cable with a custom flat noodle cable, something I have never seen before. It was very impressive!!!
But package aside, if headphones doesn't deliver - nothing else matters. In this case headphones itself are just a pair of beefy size earbuds that come with 3 sets of tips and another three sets of cushion wings to mix'n'match for a comfortable fit, and also a pair of wire clips. Earbuds are interconnected with a narrow flat rubber ribbon hosting the wires and in-line remote with 3 buttons. It looks very minimalistic, yet packs a huge powerhouse of technology. I didn't even bother reading instructions thinking I'm going to figure out how it works by myself, until I stumble across where the heck am I going to stick micro-usb cable? Device was probably pre-charged already, but still? After fumbling around for a few minutes, I had to open manual book to read about it. Actually the back of one of the earbuds pops open to reveal hidden micro-usb connector. I quickly installed the medium size ear tip and proceeded to pair these up with my Note 2. It was effortless and look really seconds to recognize and pair up with a phone, no need to enter any codes, etc. Right away I tried making phone call, check the dialing by voice, adjust the volume up/down, redial last number, etc. - all the typical voice functions. Everything worked as expected. Then, I decided to test multimedia controls. Playing songs, controlling play/pause, skip to next/prev track, watching videos, playing video games, controlling volume (not the actual volume of the phone, but a typical min/max range of bt stereo headphones) - everything works perfect. No pauses, no breaks or stuttering, no delays, and everything was in perfect sync. I also tested the range of bt connection by leaving the phone on the kitchen table while walking around first floor, going upstairs to a second floor and down to a basement where I observed coverage on par with other bt stereo headphones I've tested.
One thing was bothering me, the sound wasn't as good as I would expect. I selected medium size tips by default, but apparently that was a cause of my problem because it didn't create a proper ear canal seal. As soon as I switched to large tips - WOW!!! I couldn't believe my ears!!! Yeah, it was that good with every detail of the sound coming right at you in almost surround like stereo sound, everything from crisply highs to super clean mids and down to deep lows. With a properly selected tip to seal your ear canal - you are in for a big treat where drivers of these headphones deliver a full rich frequency spectrum of the sound. I know Jaybird mentions a special Shift Premium Bluetooth Audio technology. But no matter what digital protocol you use to enhance the sound, if your drivers can't deliver it - nothing will help. I also decided to figure out which wing cushion to select, and that turned out to be less painful than I thought, where those are actually soft hex perforated wings that hug into the surface of your ear and give you an extra support to keep earbuds from falling out when you run/jump. I mean, those should stay in by themselves, but considering intention of these earbuds to be used with extreme sports - cushion wings are a bonus. Earbuds itself could be worn in two different ways, normal under ear and also over ear. Under ear you can just let chord hang on the back of your neck/shoulders. With over the ear you have an option to use 2 provided clips to snake the excess cord around to shorten it up (like in the last picture I have below).
As I mentioned before, these earbuds are treated with water/sweat repellent Liquipel technology, and I actually tested it out by spraying some water on the cord - water stayed in little droplets. So it definitely will work if you are sweating a lot during exercise or went running under a light rain. So, how about using it in a different environment, just at work or outside while running errands? I believe it's doable. Because of the relatively short cord and rubber material, you can leave these earbuds dangling around and down without a worry they will slip and fall of your neck. It's not going to be as secure like a necklace option, but it can definitely work. Also, if they are dangling down and you get a call, there will be a short pause while you are getting these inserted properly into your ears. It's not as easy as just putting basic earbuds in. So that something you need to work with to figure out the best optimal use. Also, due to a proper ear seal, you get a good basic outside sound isolation, so I wouldn't recommend walking around with these in all the time. My concern is not ear fatigue, but rather not being able to hear what's going on around you. BlueBuds X are definitely designed with sport use in mind, but there is definitely a lot of room for these in everyday life as well. Just for the sound quality itself and how comfortable they fit in - at the current moment with all the headphones (wired and wireless I have) I can't imagine listening to music, or watching the movie, or playing the games with anything else. And on top of that you also get 8 hours of battery life which is incredible considering you only deal with two earbuds connected by a cord.
What can I say, I was VERY impressed with an experience of using these BlueBuds X headphones. Can I say they are a must-have accessory for Note 2? Absolutely not. These are premium bluetooth stereo headphones with a relatively premium price in comparison to other headphones in the same category. It's just like I said in my other reviews where tempered glass is a premium options where you have other much cheaper choices. You can get wired headphones for a tiny fraction of these buds. You can get stereo bt headphones for a fraction of the price as well. But out of everything I have tested so far (and my testing headphones journey is not done yet) these stand head and shoulders above competition in sound quality, integrated phone and audio controls, complete compatibility with our Note 2, and also the best solution for an active lifestyle!
Now, here comes some pictures for your enjoyment!

One thing I'll tell you guys is that you MUST MUST MUST get some comply ear tips. They make a huge difference in terms of isolation and comfort.

I used to have my ears hurting after like 2 hrs+ of wearing them. Now I can wear them almost all day while at work.

Oh, I had these for other headphones long time ago. Those were like soft earplugs. Actually still have it, but for a small inner core diameter. I just tried them, too small to fit on blue buds. I assume your link about for tsx/tx are for a bigger diameter? I'm not talking about outside shape, but inner diameter of flexible core. Which one did you find to fit?

So the TSX and TX 500 lines are ones that Comply says specifically fit the JayBird BlueBud's X. One provides superior isolation, the other provides superior comfort. I found that in terms of isolation their about the same with the TX ones having slightly more isolation if you aren't playing anything but when you have music playing (you'll definitely have to get used to having things at a relatively low volume due to the isolation.) it doesn't matter all that much. They both feel relatively the same to me but everyone's different.
I personally first ordered a trial pack that had all 3 sizes and I found that the mediums fit the best with my ears. Honestly there's no easy way to figure out what size you are without really trying all 3. The other sizes I just gave away.
The 500 series is indeed the one that the inner diameter fits the Bluebuds X, its a bit tight first I thought it won't fit, but after couple tries, it's actually went in and fits theBluebuds X.
I don't know how it will be in a long run, but for right now I'm OK with original ear tips supplied with these. Watched a few movies/tv shows for over an hour and it was very comfortable and no ear fatigue. You also get a decent noise isolation, which is obviously not an active noise cancellation but rather a isolation by nature of these fitting into your ear. Also, while making a phone call people suggested they can hear me very loud and clear, although while making calls I hear people back in a little "tunnel" sound. Not echo or delay or distortion, just sounded a little distant. Probably depends on how I have them sitting in my ears, in under-ear position. If I'm not mistaken, JayBird has a note they don't even recommend phone calls with over the ear position. I wonder if that's due to mic placement?

Now, here comes some pictures for your enjoyment!

thanks for the great review, i've been thinking of buying these for a very long time, but one thing stopped me which is a problem for all Bluetooth headphones with Android.
this thing is there is an audio delay when playing games (little less than 1 second), but this delay is enough to make playing games very annoying as for example when you press the shoot button in a game, you will hear the shot after 1 second.
Can you confirm whether this issue is solved with the Bluebuds X ? if yes i am gonna buy it today itself
please go ahead and try a game like "Dead Trigger" and come back to me on whether there is an audio delay or not with games
Thanks a lot.............

Ok, will try this game and report it to you later tonight.
very good review, if this phone had FM radio would be perfect.
Good review. I'd like to see a comparison between these and the Sony ones that came before it. To see how they are better in terms of range, sound quality and general usability.

Sorry to be pushy but I am now going to buy this bluetooth headset based on your reply.
So you confirm that when you press the fire button in dead trigger, you immediately hear the fire sound? There is no delay (less than1 second) none whatsoever?
Thanks again and sorry for being pushy.

I'm not here to sell headphones and don't care if you buy it or not. I'm just sharing my experience so you guys can make an educated decision or narrow down the choices. I don't play games with my phone, it's used for work/business, and I actually had to install the game in order to test it out for you. I do understand your concerns and persistence to get an answer to your question, but after installing and playing this game for about 5-10min, I did not see any delay when I tap to fire the gun and hear the fire sound. I don't know what else I can say man. Could it be variation from one phone to the other? Possible. Someone reported about using Tone+ headphones and getting delays in video or buffering/stuttering, while I didn't experience that problem. BlueBudsX is expensive purchase, I understand. So if you decide to invest you money into this product, if something doesn't work you can always return it back. Like I said, you can have a different experience with the same phone and headphones from what I see, due to other apps you have, ROM, general config of the phone, etc. Good luck!
thanks

The one you mentioned looks like an old product from 2009, discontinued already. So perhaps someone else can chime if they had these before? From Amazon reviews it looks like a good product, ahead of it's time back in 2009 but in comparison to BlueBuds X I don't think it stacks up. I would assume sound quality could be on par, although I'm very impressed with buds X. Then, Sony ones had a proprietary bulky charger, short battery life, and some durability problems. Only time with tell with buds x, but so far first week impression is very good. I'm also trying to get review samples of a.m.p ISO for a comparison since it was mentioned in another thread as a worthy alternative.

fair enough. These are actually an old product, although I still have mine functional even after once dropping them in knee high water. I have only two gripes with them:
1. Short battery life ~2hours
2. Short range and prone to interference: For example they would occasionally jitter in a gym on a busy day. Also occasional skipping if the phone goes more than 2 meters away or if you're passing near high tension lines.
I switched to MW600, which seem to last forever ~5hours+ and while they aren't as minimalist, you do get an OLED display.
Overall it sounds like the bluebuds are worth giving a try.
Thanks

Review of Awei in-ear headphones w/lots of pics!!!

This is a review of two models of Awei in-ear headphones I just got from DX.com
Even so I have been reviewing a lot of brand name headphones in a more pricey range, sometime I like to switch to a budget category to show you some amazing deals and quality you can get without breaking the bank. Usually those are no-brand name products from HK retailers, but in this case I'm actually reviewing two pairs of headphones from Awei, a brand name manufacturer I'm not too familiar with until this review which I found to be surprisingly good!
First one is Awei ES-Q3 (http://dx.com/p/stylish-in-ear-earphone-for-iphone-mp3-3-5mm-jack-140cm-cable-73838) with a price tag of $4.99. While browsing on-line catalog of dx.com, these got my attention with a really cool look and 86 5-star reviews. For a price tag of $5 you can't expect too much, so I never set my expectations high. That works great when you get surprised after opening the package So starting with a package, these looked very professional, not some cheap earbuds inside clear plastic bag you get from ebay. They came with 3 sets of different size eartips, pretty good silicone quality, and also a removable cable clip to attach headphones wire to your shirt if you need to. Looking at headphones, you notice right away the high quality of construction and material. The entire wire length is braided to keep it tangle free and to add more durability. Furthermore, the driver housing, 3.5mm connector sleeve, and cable splitter in the middle are all made out of aluminum painted in copper color. This is not a cheap painted plastic, but actually a lightweight aluminum with a good paint job since I couldn't even scratch it with my nail. There is no mic or remote, these are just audio in-ear headphones. Eartips create a good seal with your ear canal for passive noise isolation. The sound is not bad. It is bass heavy with some reduction in high frequencies, while maintaining decent mids. I was actually pleasantly surprised how I was able to raise the volume (you can get a loud sound out of these) and still hear the bass without distortion.

The next set of headphones completely took me by surprise. These are Awei ES900i in-ear headphones (http://dx.com/p/awei-es900i-stylish...-iphone-4-black-3-5mm-plug-125cm-cable-110909) for $8.99. First of all, we are talking about premium quality packaging with a magnetic display window, 3 premium pairs of different size ear-tips, and a premium genuine leather pouch. Headphones itself have flat-noodle cable, the kind you find with most of the expensive headphones nowadays. I don't know why original description page from a link above says plastic material, because these are aluminum as well, headphone housing, cable splitter, and 3.5mm connector sleeve. Everything is crafted very nicely, and looks very durable. Also you get in-line remote with mic to handle your calls and a hidden button for play/pause while listening to audio/video and pickup/hangup calls while on the phone. With a free app like JAYS or MAVEN you turn this single click button into multifunction double/triple-click for playback control to slip next/prev tracks - it worked without a problem. But what set these apart is a sound quality. I thought previous pair for $5 was good, and I expected the sound quality of these to be the same with extra $4 covering fancier packaging, leather pouch, and mic/remote. Well, the sound quality of these are easily on par with some of the $50-$60 ones. It has an enhanced bass definition, clear mids and highs, and volume that goes up pretty loud without distorting the sound. I was VERY impressed with a sound!!! Again, it's not fair to compare these with audiophile headphones that cost over $100, but for $8.99 these sound too good to be true. Also, with a proper size eartips, they provide a good passive noise isolation, and don't forget you get in-line remote with multi-function button and mic for making calls!
Both of these Awei in-ear headphones sound good, have fantastic built quality, and eye catching designs. I will give ES900i an advantage in sound quality and a more modern design with a flat style cable and also in-line remote with mic and multi-function button. Overall, I definitely recommend both, especially ES900i which I found to have a very impressive sound quality.
Thanks for the detailed review. Actually I am using now the earphones which I got with my galaxy s2. But I am not satisfied with that. I want something better. I need a better earphones with MIC. I searched a lot but couldn't find a cheap good earphones with microphone. I don't like the dollar one to five things.
I found this one on TinyDeal.

Good question. First of all, I'm not familiar with TinyDeal, is that a Russian site? I see their original currency is listed in rubles and most of the review comments in russian. With that said, those reviews are actually very positive I get a lot of stuff from DX.com which I had only success with, and as a matter of fact they have the whole Syllable page in there: http://dx.com/s/syllable
Now, "Syllable" brand is a name used for "almost real" beats by dre headphone products You can just go to amazon and look up Beats Tour to see what I'm talking about. Pretty much every headphone set on that syllable page above will "remind" you of something you have seen before for 5x-6x time the price With all that said, you can make "almost real" looking product, but the sound quality can't be duplicated. I don't have experience of listening to real Tour or "syllable" version of it to make a judgment. I did read hundreds of comments on amazon about the real Tour giving it 2stars comment because of an awful quality in general (too much bass, hollow sound, no mids or highs). So if "syllable" version uses the same drivers as Awei version - they might sound better than a real thing
Right now I see that dx.com has that particular syllable G03-03 version listed as currently sold out. But they also have some other over the ear headphone version which look pretty good, although priced anywhere from $50 to $140 (which could be a bargain when you compare these to beats $150 to $350 versions).. But I can't comment about their sound quality just by looking at or reading other people's comments. I will contact DX.com guys and see if I can review a few of these headphones.
Bottom line, at the current moment I can only voucher for Awei version I reviewed and can strongly recommend ES900i. Syllable versions - I will try to review.
Thanks once again for the reply. I have seen the thread about Syllable in dx.com. But that model which I pointed is out of stock. I couldn't see any Syllable model from dollar 50 to 150...
What do you think about this model?
http://dx.com/p/awei-ts-130vi-stere...-w-line-control-microphone-black-white-237048
As it has volume control also. The price is little more at 14 dollars.
Let me tell you that I am completely novice in this business. Your cooperation will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Okay just got them
Review:
When putting on the earbuds it sat very comfortable ,steady and very thight in the ear, so I couldn't wait and opened a song.(no EQ or whatsoever)
The sound is just outstanding and full it has great bass but not bloated the clarity is also very good, I owned an other pair of earbuds from DealExtreme (kanen km92) and they are just garbage when comparing it to this one. I never expected this sound of this price, a while ago I had earbuds of 10€ (soundlogic WoW) which is nothing compared to this one.
So I can recommend this product with whole my heart
TIP: if you want awei earbuds with microphone for less money than on DX Go to geekbuying.com, take a look at there just in case

Hey all .
I also bought
AWEI ES900i
from ebay for ~9$
and after 1 month of usage im very satisfied from the quality of sound they produce!!
recommended for buying !
I had awei es900i. I was very happy with the sound quality but they gave up after 5 months which was so disappointing for me. Sound stopped coming from one side and then another. Does anybody has same issue as if they can go for 1 year I am ready to purchase another one

For $8+ with a decent sound quality and 5 months of continuous use - I would say, you got your money worth I read a lot of posts from people having problems with their $500 in-ear headphones some of which don't even have a removable cable to replace. When you deal with headphones under $10, and if you like their sound, just get a bunch since most of their value goes into a driver rather than quality of materials (or in your case - wire attachment to the earpiece).
Vectron always gives good reviews so I ordered both of these headphones along with this OBDII Bluetooth Auto Car Diagnostic Scan Tool http://deals.dx.com/team.php?sku=311835...I have wanted to try one of these for a while but they are always $50 or more. My whole order was only $23 so I can't complain.
How long does it take DX to ship?
Thanks for the review on these headphones!!!

Thanks, I try to review product at both side of the price spectrum If it's a junk, I don't even mention it. You do have to be realistic that $8 headphones will not sound as good as $100 under a deep analysis, but if you are not a picky audiophile - these will be great, and will sound as good as other stuff for $25-$30. Btw, Deal Extreme gets their products directly from a factory and sells pretty cheap. A lot of ebay/amazon resellers buy it in bulk from them and re-sell at a premium price. If you are willing to wait for a shipment - you will get the same stuff at a discounted price. Regarding shipment wait time, it varies. Could take anywhere from 2-3 weeks.
i saw this in my local computer store before
Just got mine and I'm in love. Been using budget earphones for a while because cables and connections never last long enough. These seem worth me getting an extra pair.

Just got mine and I'm in love. Been using budget earphones for a while because cables and connections never last long enough. These seem worth me getting an extra pair.

How long did it take to get them? I ordered mine about 6 days ago & they are in transit but the tracking site they use isn't very clear as to location...
Thanks for the review. It's a shame there is no mic.

The ES900i's do have a mic. One that works well too.

You can look into the Shure SE215 but they cost more with the mic. I think it it all comes down to your budget but if your considering sound quality to be important you'll have to put down some serious coin.
Thanks allot guys for all the quick reply's..

They came with my G2, international version, in the box.
Decent in ear headphones as compared to others (Apple, Samsung), offers pretty good noise isolation but lacking in bass.
You can get them on eBay for about 20 dollars, I heard. Plastic build, wire gets stained easily since it's rubber. Wouldn't really recommend it. But alright if you're just looking for an average pair of headphones with mic that works with the G2.

That's great to know. glade I didn't get it now.. I have a $12 credit with buydig.com and notice they have a sennheiser cx 275 on sale for $24. I have a sennheiser cx 215 w/o mic and it sounds amazing so I figure this would sound just as good and with a mic. SO I guess i'll try that with my G2 and the poweramp app.. I also should of mention that this will be mostly used at work around dust so I really don't want anything over price for that.
I'm using a-JAYS-Four with powerAMP.
Awesome for me.
Not a fan of the in ear headphones. Can anyone suggest regular headphones? What's a good one to get?

I tried alot of earphones using the stock Music app, and the bass was just sorely lacking... I ended up buying the Coloud Pop. They are insanely cheap, and offers enough thump to deliver the bass that the software lacks. I love them colors too.

Same here. I've had the shure se215LE for a year now and just went and compared them with the 535 and 435 in store and didn't hear a reason to upgrade. I do use Viper for Android 's root app though which levels the playing field. Aside- If you want quality sound from your phone, it makes all the difference. I feel like half my sound comes from the headphones and half from V4A. Let me put it this way... it's good enough to make a $120 pair sound just as good, if not better, than a $500 pair.
Anyway it doesn't come with a mic, but you can easily find the inline mic attachment for about $20 online or in a store.
Klispch also still sells the s4a with a mic if I'm not mistaken, but as far as cheap in ears go, I can't recommend the Shures enough. The fit may take some getting used to in the beginning, but that would be my only concern with em

Budget?
Are you going to get an amp?
What kind of music do you listen too?
As people mentioned here, your budget is what will determine the final outcome. You know what they say, more money->more music
As far as headphones go, i have a pair of Panasonics DJ series (can't remember exact model) and the sound is amazing. Lacks mic, but headphones are just crazy. Priced around 80-ish $. Basically, you'll want to look for old school brands like Sennheiser and you wont make a mistake.
I was using my headphones for a while but the cost to battery is just a bit too much, so i switched to Sennheiser earphones and they're just amazing! Got them for about 15€ on mad discount at Amsterdam's Media Markt rofl.
