There are alot of ways to do this but im going to tell you the easiest one using CWM.
Download the stock latest ROM from herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1872965
Download the XXLRQ kernel from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927097
Reboot into recovery.
Wipe data/cache.
Flash XXLRQ ROM.
Flash the XXLRQ kernel from the second thread.

Install xda app.
And come hit thanks here jk

just download the latest stock ics rom from here and flash it using PC odin. safest
I've done this yesterday. First you need to download gingerbread rom and then flash via odin. Make sure you don't wipe anything. You can wipe after flashing the GB rom in recovery. After that you can flash any Ics stock rom you like and flash with odin. Just remember do not tick repartition in odin.
I wish you luck with flashing.

thanx in advance!!!!
I think you just have to flash the old firmware with odin. Just search for a tutorial for the firmware you want. Maybe i misunderstood you.

Odin is not that dangerous :silly: You just have to look that you put the files on the right place and then just dont touch the phone while flashing. Then it is quite safe Just search for a tutorial.
Visit - Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 - Flashing to Original ROM : https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum/threads/samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000-flashing-to-original-rom.46/
You can try to flash TeamwinRecovery/CWM with stock recovery than you just copy the stockrom to your sd card an flash it with the TWR/CWM... Afterwards you just flash the stock recovery again with TWR/CWM and you've finished without odin I hope it really works for sgs, cause i've tested that only with sgs plus
Stock Firmware thread
Here you go buddy, head over to this thread, they have a large list of stock ROMs, just choose the one that matches your region and flash it using Odin

All these other people posted links for instructions and stuff to alternate websites.
If you still need help, use the xDa written guide on flashing the stock firmware for your device.

That link has AT&T provided, search the forums for the carrier/model GS4 you have and download the stock firmware.
Hi there
I recently got a Galaxy S (running Stock Gingerbread.XXJV9) for free off of a family member, so I decided to root it (which I did using CF-Root) and I'm trying to flash RemICS-UX onto the phone from stock 2.3
The thing is whenever I try to flash via ROM Manager, it will tell me there is an update file in the cache folder, when there shouldn't be and I do not know how this file even got into that folder (since this isn't a brand new phone)
Would this impact me flashing a new ROM at all? I have wiped cache at the moment, but before I flash the new ROM I would like to know if I have to repartition for ICS or can I leave it as is and flash without a problem.
Thanks for any help/advice in advance
Hey
The first requirement for flashing a ICS rom is that your phone should have 2.3.6 ValuePack, Rooted...you cannot just flash it on 2.3 stock..

Ah ok, there is a link to that ROM in the dev forum for this phone then I assume (just it isn't stickied like in Desire S forum)
EDIT: Found the link, these are really different to Desire S stock flashing, hopefully there is a glossary for what CSC means
Anything else I need to do with that ROM after I've flashed it besides reactivate root if I don't use a pre-rooted one?
Hey
Actually u dont need to do anything.. the roms quite good...plus rooting is ur option and is preferred if u need ics..
Cheers
If my post helped, don't mind hitting the Thanks button..

Ah awesome thank you,
Also I can flash straight to ICS from the CF-Root provided for the value pack without any extra requirements right? As I plan on doing so, because the Value Pack update has basically messed up my settings and everything, so I don't want to stay on it for a while
Hey
You can Flash any ICS rom once your phone is ont 2.3.6 rooted...not need to wait...
Is there any way to upgrade from 2.3 to ics or 4.1 without root/cwm and without kies? If so can u tell me the link with steps pls?
Thats because i kies doesnt connect to the phone... And also can someone can tell me the link of a thread that indicates the best way to root and install cmw on i900?
Really apreciated.
Cheers
the development of official roms stop on gb, u can flash ics and jb roms but are ports and cm distributions

you need to update it to Gingerbread 2.3.6 before you can have ICS, so use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881 to upgrade than use this to get CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112908 than choose the ICS ROM you like and use that guide to put ICS on your phone
NO shortcuts unless you want some extra headaches

You need to post in Q&A.
But, you just can flash a stock ICS rom in CWM recovery OR use Odin. Go to drketan's stock ROM thread.

I dont think stock firmware can be flashed through cwmr.
@op check dr.ketan's thread for stock firmwares in note original dev section sticky, download appropriate firmware and flash using pc odin.
Suggestion- since you are on cm rom so better you flash stock gb first and then ics.

In exactly this thread Chasmodo described the installation procedure very good. If I give you a step-by-step help it wouldn't be different from Chasmodo's.
And if this is too complicated or you do not have the energy or time to concentrate on it, you should stay on 4.0.4 and wait for the next official update to Jelly Bean.
As beginner who doesn't want to read you are in real danger to hard brick your device.
But maybe you don't even know the "speciality" of the N7000 with it's bricking danger.
