and it shud only only a small Icon of Beats audio (b) when the headsets are plugged in.
I DONT need a Beats audio mod for the Sound enhancnement.
i KNOW its ALREADY available !
PS: for incredible s
I am building a new ROM for that purpose i need it
Hope you guys will help me.
Rom is based on latest build 4.0.4 !
Its very fast and smooth (as i have removed many apps and also made a flashable file that can be flashed over if u need those apps like drop box, flicker, youtube, facebook etc)
Size of the ROM is incredibly reduced, I have added Beats Audio Mod. but i dont have that Icon to be placed. SO help me guys
please check the attachment !

A way you could do it is by replacing the headphones icon in the status bar.
To do this decompile framework-res.apk (it might have been systemui.apk, I can't remember) and navigate to the drawable-hdpi folder, and then swap the headphones connected image with the image of the beats icon. I can't remember exact details but its pretty straight forward to find the icon you want. Hard part is opening up the apk

A flashable zip would probably contain the updated apk with the swapped icon anyway

[ICON THEME] Coloured status bar icons

Well I never thought I would find myself contributing anything to XDA-Dev but I liked these icons so much I decided to share!
These icons are either hand made by myself, or edited from various sources. They feature a transparent background, so they should work well with most statusbar's out there. I am currently working on finishing the blue style icons across the board, and perhaps the purple as well (like the battery).
I have tested these on VanillaEclaire 4 and FroydVillan 1.1, and these work without MetaMorph etc etc.
These are fairly simple to install:
- Pull your framework-res.apk (should be in /system/framework) to the folder of your choice.
- Open framework-res.apk with WinRAR or 7zip and navigate to res\drawable-mdpi (some may be called drawable-hdpi). Just find the .png files that match the ones in my zip files.
- Drag your favourite .png files into the WinRAR/7zip window and click OK to save
- Push updated framework-res.apk to your device and reboot. (adb remount, then, adb push ..., adb reboot)
- If you wish to include the gmail, email, or sms icons like in the screenshot, please also update gmail.apk, email.apk, mms.apk as appropriate!
Update: Pictures! Tons more icons!
Update 2: Vending.apk icons (Market download notifications) See post
Mass spam of the icons, pick and choose!
Disclaimer:
Please update the filenames of the .png's as appropriate. I have created/included several copies that can be used as you please, so the names don't always match the .apk files.
Please make backups before pushing to /system
I have read posts on this forum regarding editing .apk files and the need to re-sign them, or issues with endless reboots after editing .apk files. I used WinRAR and did not create a new framework file, only edited it. I have had 0 issues.
Mega pack attachment below contains all icons from the other 3 zip files!
Update: Pink/Purple pack!
Reserved.
Hopefully I can upload pictures now.

Hi Jen, sorry was this when you were pushing or pulling the file? Rebooting?
I use a vanilla rom, and the location of framework-res.apk is exactly where you mentioned. I use a program called "ADB File Explorer" to find things on my device.

I haven't tried it since I last posted, just don't have the time at the momment i'll give it another try tomorrow..But im really excited on getting this to work <3 i've been looking for something like this for the longest.
Ok sounds good! If it keeps failing to push, try ADB file explorer:

Jen, you're not repacking the apk are you? Just need to update, If you look at my sig i've made a video on how to update images on the phone, might help =o)
SpeeDemon, I really like your battery icons, would it be ok to use them on my next video? I'm making a video on how to change the look of the battery status bar icon and rather than making crappy images myself would like to use your ones, I would of course give credit to you for the icons.

Hey, sure thing fxn, go wild!
Bump for huge update! Still more to come!!!
These are superb SpeeDemon! Mind if I use a few of them in a theme I'm looking into creating?

Hi Dennis. These icons should work with most ROM's out there available for your device, rooted or otherwise. You will need to familiarise yourself with any of the various methods of pulling framework-res.apk from your phone, and placing the .png files into their correct folder (as outlined in my first post). Then you will need to update the file on the phone with your modified .apk (Google/Android call this "push").

If root explorer can pull a copy to your SD card, you may be able to pull it and just do a normal file copy to your PC. You would then need to push it back from SD > /system using root explorer. I have never used the app before, but I just googled it now and some screenshots hint at this possibility.
I would still suggest trying to get ADB working - it is worth the hassle and much quicker than mounting/unmounting an SD card all the time!
i made it with root explorer. I made a copy from the system folder to SD card. then i sent the file via bluetooth to my pc. then i replaced some pictures and clicked OK. after this i sent the framework-res.apk back to my device. then i copied this and pasted it in System/framework and replaced the old one.
and now i cant boot anymore.
it just shows the startupshow (modified) and then there is a black screen which is illuminated a little bit..
so what can I do?
hope for a quick answer.
kind regards from sad DauL

There are some mods in themes and apps, and there are 2 ways to mod battery icon, wifi, signal etc.
The easy way is ti make a flashable zip from the uot kitchen. There are many tutorials all over the internet how to work with the kitchen.
The advanced way is to manually edit framework-res.apk that can be found in system/framework/. Here are also more options to work with, personally i use an archiver (WinRAR), and folders, i copy all the contents from the framework-res.apk in some folder named how do i want.
In that folder i make all the changes i want to make, battery and other icons, xml and other things, after that, i copy all the contents back in the framework-res.apk, and make a flashable zip, the flashable zip can be scavanged from other flashable zips so you don't need to know what i actually does, only edit the flashable zip in the same way, for example you can download the battery mod provided by me here and just change the framework-res.apk inside the zip and flash it
Hope this helps.

Thanks man! i got your point. I was able to change the battery icon, sync icon but i tried to look for the .png file for network icon and wifi but i can't seem to find it in framework-res.apk. I think were both using the same ROM if im not mistaken.
Actually i change things directly inside the ROM drag and drop method using 7zip and after editing things i reflash the ROM again. Im still learning things and with the guidance from the XDA developer team i hope to learn more. Can you enlighten me this one .
Thanks for your quick response!

Note that some notification icons and other icons can also be found in system>app>SistemUI.apk
Check there, there should be the missing icons you need.
Yes, you can do it your way, by flashing the ROM again with your changes made, but it takes more time, it is recommended to flash only what you need and i recommend using a more light .zip, like an existing theme or app flashable .zip, i gave you in the other post the example of the battery mod, you can take that .zip and add the needed folders into the system folder inside the zip and the files inside the respective folders, in this way you flash only what you need, and that .zip can be used to flash different apps or themes. (some apps require specific permissions and those need to be manually added, but this is another story, you can always set permissions using a root browser/explorer).
Hope this helps

SystemUI mods

Hi
I had played with Virtuous Ten Studio and i was trying to learn from scrats.
in the insanly cool sense there is an bad translation to danish in systemUI, in english the automatic brightness translated to automatisk lydstyrker, also automatic sound, in decompiled systemUI with VTS and edited the xml file for danish and then compiled the apk file again and pushed it to the device and checked for permission and edited them as they shoud in the file and rebooted.
i also tryed recompiled the apk and copyed it over on sd card, set permission and copy into system/app folder again and then reboots with same result
results was:
NO STATUSBAR i tryied everything but the only way i could fix it was using the orignial apk file again ?
what did i do wrong?

not sure.. didn't find any guide on theming / modding Sense esp 3.6.. u have anything on it?
as i understands it, VTI can maby do it, it supports sense 3 and up, i have maby some link at my home laptop but not here at work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473293
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645650
there is a start maby
Edit:
after reading the link about modding battery icon it makes sense :
Sense 4.0/3.6 (ICS)
1. Pull /system/app/SystemUI.apk from your phone
2. Rename SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.apk.zip
3. Using WinRAR copy attached "res" folder (in zip) directly into the root of SystemUI.apk.zip
4. Leave the settings and just hit OK.
5. Rename back to SystemUI.apk and push to device
*This method may work for Sense 3.6 ROMs as well. If not, see below.
i had read a place that the systemUI.apk is signed, and only works if it is signed, but when you decompile it and compile it again the sign disapper. therefore as i understands it you may not decompile the original systemUI.apk file, you just push the files that you edited in the file, as it say i point 3. i had not tried it out yet but i do to night and i may think it will work

I always use the last method that you describe here when modding frameworks and SystemUI's, and had no problem so far with any ROM i modded/themed, not too many to be honest, i modified Sense v3.6's Battery only, but that change was in framework-res.apk not in the SystemUi.apk.
Don't know if this can help you in any way, but i believe feedback is always welcomed

[Q] Battery % Icon in UI?

A quick update:
Found the Notification Toggle app from the Play Store which does a very good job. Along with a large selection of some easy to use pull-down switches in the Notification Bar is a battery icon showing %. Actually very nice.
However, not being exactly what I was looking for I tried to use the OG Battery Icon Mod from XDA with my (mostly) stock (Odexed) ROM. It was unsuccessful.
Thinking it might be a problem with the Odexed ROM, I flashed CWM Recovery to replace my previous TWRP Recovery (for some reason the DeOdexed ROM des not flash with TWRP) and then flashed JMZ's DeOdexed v1.08 ROM. Unfortunately, I ended up the same failure when running the OGBattery Mod Tool (the tool was unable to download the systemui.apk).
Therefore, so far I am unable to make the UI modification, but am pleased to find the Notification Toggle App -- and with some help from Titanium Backup my phone is back where I wanted it, now running a DeOdexed ROM. I went back to TWRP Recovery. I have CWM on my A500 tablet, but TWRP just seems easier on the First.

Feeling adventurous, I downloaded your sense ROM & extracted it. In systemui.apk I see there are two (apparently duplicated) res folders and the sub-folders/files in res are also duplicated. Is this an error in the build or necessary as place-holders of sone kind. I thought I might try to replace the res folder in the deodexed ROM with this one, but it concerned me.

@jmk : After the confusion (to me) I tried a couple of more things:
1. Replaced systemui.apk in stock ROM with the systemui.apk from your Sense ROM. That did give me a Sense horizontal battery with %, but was too small to see. I was hoping for the percent circle.
2. I used UOT Kitchen to attempt to make the modifcation, but Kitchen returned a SHTF error, so no results yet.
Success!
I loaded & set up JMZ's Sense ROM with the icons I wanted, then copied systemUI.apk to the sdcard. After restoring my "stock" ROM I renamed the systemUI.apk in /system, then copied the one from the sdcard to /system & reset the permissions. I now have my desired battery icons!

I will upload a decompiled systemui and you can browse through it and see where everything is but most will be in res\drawable-xxxhdpi-v4 on a stock Note 4 rom and the icons in the status bar start with "stat_sys"
here is the file its in zip format but is not usable so just unzip its from 5.1.1-N910W8VLU1COK3 but all are pretty much the same, also if you want to change colours and position of icons you will need to decompile the apk easiest program I have ever used is Tickle My Android which can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633333
systemui zip is here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24415232478675087
