Possible Fixes
Backlight
The buttons by default are off to save on the battery. If you go into System settings < Display < Brightness < Check Automatic brightness, it will turn back on the buttons.
3G
You can try commenting out the following lines in the build.prop as you guys don't need them as you are on gsm.
#ro.ril.def.preferred.network=4
#ro.telephony.default_network=4
#ro.telephony.ril_class=LGEQualcommRIL
#ro.telephony.ril_prl=61007
Camera
As for Camera, you can try and flash tjstyle's camera.zip file. Right now our kernel 2.6.32.9 does not work with the camera. I have tried to use tj's kernel 2.6.35.7 and 2.6.35.14 kernel on our phone but still not booting but your guy's old stock 2.6.32.9 kernel does work from edowar's beta 4 of CM9 on our phone.

I tried to install the recovery.img but it didn't work. I currently have 5.5.0.4 from Mantera on my Triumph. I will try and install 5.0.2.7 from our site tonight and see if I can get the kernel to boot, it makes no sense at all why it won't boot on our phone. I even connected with ADB it doesn't show anything as the device never connects. Will see what I can come up with.
i will check it at framework and phone.apk

After change the setting, the button backlight works but with a very dim light. I've seen somewhere in this forum that you can set the button brightness manually. Can someone help me please?

Sorry elol..didn't mean to push you or something. Maybe I'm just not being patience Sorry once again. What I can say this is one promising ics rom. For the first time on all of ics roms, Real Racing 2 didn't FC on this rom:good:
Great Rom -Feedback
This is really a great rom
1. Gaming improved a lot
2. free ram
3. stable
Here I like to mention how to get good amount of free ram and good multitasking
1. Install v6 supercharger
2.Make widget for engine flush on desktop and use it to drop cache
3.Use Task manager ( Both give me upto 200mb free ram)
4. in developer option keep background activities to 1
5. For other tweaks like black screen after call, smoothness, response and other tweaks use pimp my rom.( it really give good results)
6. Keep minfrree task killer to 100mb (use v6 supercharger.
For faster connecting camera use the apk I posted in general thread.( It is much more responsive.
And as a general tip
If your memory card is not being formatted for a long time and lots of deletion and addition is done.Do a slow formatting as it will help apps to read data from card faster (as it became fragmented over the time )
Elol
Great Job Man but I still know that you will find some reason to update it

To the two people above, may I ask what rom you are coming from and what steps you have taken along with any extra steps you done before/after flashing?
The clock control takes 10 secs to update but other than that I don't have any issues with them updating or settings being reverted.

I'm coming from ICS Zen and I did all the steps mentioned in the OP. I can say I have some experience in flashing roms

Try to flash again because that sometimes helps! And let me see if I can reproduce your error.
Yeah buddy. Clean install...
Sorry I couldn't reproduce your error coming from icszen or even after a fresh odin. It's not a rom error, its a human error so perhaps try to odin to jfd and reflash?
Edit: Good news , I was able to reproduce the problem and I'm looking into what went wrong. Stay tunes.
Can anyone comment on whether GPS works? Before/after deep sleep?
Assuming stock kernel, but interested in how the GPS tweaks work?
Thanks.
Just flashed this from Euphoria RC1. Will get back after extended use.
Great job OP!

seems pretty smooth. even got GPS lock and never had with glitch. will see how it goes after deep sleep.
I can't find the ICS navigation bar within rom control? I really use the soft keys a lot to switch between open apps, has this been removed? any way to get it back?
Also noticed that the weather option doesn't work in the pull down bar? the location option is grayed out and it won't appear?

No ICS navigation bar but trust me dude the weather option works. Remember to select custom location after enabling weather function and the box wont be grayed out anymore.

Added a custom ringtone I made based on Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core (set as default)
Started to optimize some images in source
This build is based on the official AOKP build 31
Optimized all audio files
Added a MASSIVE amount of build.prop tweaks!
AOKP OFFICIAL CHANGELOG:
Fixed long pressing home button not working on capacitive buttons
Fixed FC when clearing market data through the LCD density changer in RC
Fixed lockscreen icons not setting properly
Fixed devices not having MTP checked by default (for Galaxy Nexus amongst others)
Fixed battery bar showing incorrect battery percentages and not showing in the proper orientation
Fixed Calendar FC in ROM Control
Added donate link for Khas Mek (you should really click this)
Changed back to stock framework animation speed as the faster ones weren't properly configured and made things "stutter"
Flashing instructions:
FLASH 5.6.890 SBF (for a TOTALLY clean install for those with paranoia)
1: Download the 5.6.890 SBF file HERE
2: Download RSDLite 5.5 HERE
3: Extract the contents of the SBF file to a folder on your computer
4: Install RSDLite
5: Boot the Droid 3 into bootloader by holding both Vol+ & Vol- at the same time when powering the phone on
6: Select "AP Fastboot" and press Vol+ to select it
7: Select the XML from the extracted SBF file in RSDLite
8: Connect the phone, and when it says "Connected", hit "Start"
9: Wait for the phone to finish flashing, and booting (it will reboot a couple times, leave it alone, its supposed to!)
ROOT STOCK ROM
10: Install and run Petes Motorola Root Tools. Download it HERE
11: Follow the instructions in the app to root your phone
INSTALL SAFESTRAP RECOVERY
12: Once rooted, install one of the following recoveries:
OFFICIAL BY HASHCODE: HERE
UNOFFICIAL BY RICK#2: HERE
13: Reboot your phone, and when prompted, hit MENU to enter SafeStrap Recovery.
BACKUP AND INSTALL NEW ROM
14: MAKE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE DOING ANYTHING! (just a precaution)
15: Go to "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from internal sdcard", then select my ROM's zip file
16: After it installs, back out and reboot the phone
17: YOU HAVE DONE IT! CONGRATS ON YOU NEW STEEL DROID INSTALL!
I would suggest using the latest 1.0.8e release of Rick#2's tweaked Safestrap. It has a lot of safeguards built in that could really save you a bunch of time in flashing and/or testing, and I personally like his menu layout and design. But of course, you still have all the functionality of Hashcodes Safestrap still in place.
Give the ROM time to boot. The first boot took me almost 5 minutes! If your phone doesn't boot in 15 minutes, pull the battery and try again. If it still doesn't boot, you need to go back and start over with my instructions at the beginning!
ALSO: Please be sure to check out the free tethering hack! I use it regularly, and it DOES work. Quite well I might add. Details HERE
Credits:
Here are my thanks for this build, in no particular order:
AOKP (for their awesome ICS source!)
Rick#2 (tweaked 1.0.8e Safestrap)
Google! (Kickass Android OS!)
Motorola! (kickass phone!)
JRummy (init.d support)
cvalenti15 (testing)
and a few more...
Wow I was actually just about to go back to 4.5 but as soon as I refreshed the page, this popped up! Will give this a try and post back!
EDIT: I'm on GSM and couldn't get it to work even with making changes to build.prop (exact same changes if you've done it with other ICS ROMs). I was getting FC when trying to make phone calls and cannot receive phone calls. If any other GSM user can get it to work, could you post your steps?
tits yes!
does the keyboard back light and rotation and such work?

i checked all of the ics rom's on that forum (on my XT860 GMS), i put all the patches, and the modification for the build.prop
none of them the data connection functioning (wifi or cell)
Do you plan on theming more in future versions?
Does HDMI out work?
Nice to see another ics rom and the detail in op are great. Thanks. I will most definitely flash when there is a build that has a few more fixes.

Few questions
Ok, I read the FAQ on the AOKP site, but I couldn't find these answers anywhere...
First, how do we get to "recent apps" or the task switcher? Long press on home button doesn't work.
Second, in the AOKP Rom settings, I can't seem to select a correct color for my LED. I pick a green, or red, or orange, but when I get a notification, it pushes all colors out.
Other than these issues, this build has been great. One wish list item though is to remove security for the corporate email, it's one of my biggest pet peaves.

The superics kernel has been compile from old samsung released sources. I am not sure if he will release new one. So if u want back bluetooth u must compromise cwm. Flash the following zImage using Ktool or mobile odin

Its zimage for stock ics XXLPY. So no problems are there.

Instructions :
1. Install flashable zip in CWM which also installs script manager to user apps. (So it will be easy removable afterwards)
2. Reboot to android, open Script Manager (In the app drawer), select run as root.
3. Browse to system/xbin, select the file named ‘’V6’’, ONLY mark the crossbones tab (SU) and run the script.
4. When you are done configuring it to your liking, run the script again to see if its 100% supercharged!
What does it do ?
V6 Super Charger makes your phone super snappy, fast with better multitasking management. It rearranges and fixes Out Of Memory (OOM) Groupings, Priorities and LowMemoryKiller values to make your low RAM device fast, by freeing memory when possible.
What the complete package wants to achieve :
- Entering your PIN with minimal/no delay/lag
- Minimising delay with lock screen/unlock/ calls (touchscreen response lag)
- Smoother notifications on the status bar, and smoother pulldown menu response
- Minimising lag
- Better multitasking management for low RAM devices
...
ALWAYS BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING IN CASE THERE GOES SOMETHING WRONG[/COLOR]

Tips:
Best performance with badass kernel
Some of you will think mass storage is not working so here is how to fix it got to settings then to storage then click menu button then tap on usb connection and lastly tick mass storage.
Fixes:
For Audio Issues like low in call volume. Flash this Link: http://d-h.st/qW8 (Credits to alin.p for this) remember this works on all ics roms not just cm-9.2.
Flicker Issue: Delete This Line In Build.Prop debug.composition.type=mdp (credits to magmini)
Gallery Photo Editor: Download This: http://www.4shared.com/zip/nHAuYfHM/GalleryPhotoEditFixed.html (credits to ahmadsafar for the guide in fixing Photo Editor and emokeizer for uploading fixed apk)
Since Fm radio doesn't work then try SpiritFM.

any progres for CM9 work, stable, and daily use?
The cm9 by erikcas is pretty stable for daily use only mic in phone calls doesn't work(fix in my post) and deep sleep.its pretty fast and smooth.and one thing i didn't create cm9 or the fix for mic.i did this cause there's no development thread for cm9
did anyone succeeded solving the deep sleep ?sry for bad eng in case is something wrong
Not sure if this could help in this case cause i didn't try it myself...Sometimes changing the minimum frequency works...Have you tried?
Thanks for the thread !
I have uploaded to my dropbox phone.apk from thewisp's cm9 for who can't download the rom because have slow connection.

can I suggest something? the name of this thread is almost identical as the thread about cm10.1, could you possibly change it to "[CM9] Discussion thread" or something? that, I think will be much more convenient for many of us
1. has anyone tried to insert new line with deep sleep 2 into build.prop?
2. has anyone tried to set it over changing min fr to 122mhz?
3. has anyone tried to insert some script that have deep sleep feature?
i cant download cause of slow net (sometimes none) till tomorow, so i cant test it by myself...pls, could someone check this

i agree with the posts above mini.i tried everything but deep sleep doesnt work and it may be a kernel issue.also why did the kernel say cm10.1 in settings about phone.i tried to use the whisps cm9 kernel but then the cm9 by erikcas wont boot.

erikcas didn't apply this fix
http://blog.cryptomilk.org/2012/05/
So, in reality is a error within the framework. I had the same exact error the first time I compiled CM9
CM9 deep sleep
I tried flashing Activo Speeder 3.1 latest and i added those two lines in build.prop...
Even then the deeep sleep is not working.. i did nt use the phone for 7 hrs... was in flight mode with least brightness.. battery jumped from 87 tp 55%.. hope this deep sleep issue is fixed soon..
Bt over all the rom is amazing... liquid smoth and opening of apps is quite fast compared to the Whisp's cm9.. Hoping to find a slimmed version of this CM9

so, if you use whisp framework without changing anything, deep sleep will work?
um didn't you read my first post in bugs and fixes.i said the whips framework.apk will boot but will cause some glitches for example usb debugging icon becomes configure input methods with a-z written below or when you charge the phone in lockscreen instead of charging percentage it becomes nosimcard.text is messed up other than that it works.if you do not mind it then use the whips framwork.apk.
