[Q] No 3G connection after firmware update JM7/JM8

H guys need some help. Just update my Galaxy S with both JM7 and then with JM8. I updated from my original Norwegian firmware I9000XWJFB/I9000SWCI9000XEEJG1/I9000XXJF5/I9000XWJFB. Problem is after the update I have only wifi connections. I am unable to get any 3G or Edge or any sort of mobile internet connection. I can still phone out etc. Just no mobile internet. I have tried flashing back to JF5, but I get some russian language and still no 3g. Any help would be appreciated.
I have also added Tayutama_Edition_Voodoo_Full_v1.1. But even without it still no 3G.
Currently : PDA:XWJM8 Phone: I9000XXJM4 CSC: OXAJM1 Not sure what that means.
I am in Norway if anyone knows of a firmware I can downgrade to or use in this region. Did not backup my original firmware.

Sounds like you need to set up your apn.

Google for your network providers APN codes, and then set them in settings.

Thanks guys got it working...reflashed the csc file with xee jm1. It worked. Man was I getting worried.

Month àgo my 3g used to be working, sudenly my 3g change to 2g.
I checked my settings and everything was fine.
I putt my sim in another phone and the 3g worked, so its not a sim problem.
My apn setting are good.
I tried everything and nothing solved the problem.
What can it be?

3G/2G switching can appear for several reasons:
- Weak network signal
- Wrong modem flashed according to your country
- death grip
Where do you live?, Which Kernel/Rom/CSC/Modem?, Provider?, APN settings?, SGS i9000?, the more information you give the faster your problem will be resolved.

I live in israel. My provider is cellcom israel. I have the last hardcore kernal. Pilotxrom rom. My apn settings are good and i have sgs gt i9000
What is csc? And i dont know what is my modem.

Hmm, what do you have in Settings >>> Wireless ... >>> Mobile Networks >>> Network mode selected? (Should be the GSM/WCDMA , GSM only might be only 2G)

My settings is ok. This is not the problem.

Settings -> "about your phone", and *#1234# put all details here.

I think that the PilotX Rom uses the JPY modem.

Ok it should be a JPY issue in your country, maybe you should contact pele78 on IRC (if he is around) :http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=romkitchen. he'll probably give you a feedback on which modem is the best for Israel

It cant be that the jpy is the problem. The rom was made a specialy for israeli users.

Oh really? sure it can...anyway if you're sure you tried all basics as you said (checking APN, Your Network/provider reliability,WCDMA, Reset/Wipe etc) it's the only thing i have in mind sorry.

[Q] Network signal weak

Hi,
I purchased last week Galaxy Tab TMobile from China.(Most probably from Hong Kong). It is unlocked and using local gsm operator simcard with data plan. (TCELL)
I am using it in Turkey. 3g, voice etc.. everything working fine but my problem while network weak I am loosing the signal. It is like Iphone4. While normal peoples even can talk with 2 bars I am not able to get any signal. What can cause this problem. Need different type of Radio rom ? Otherwise it is working normal. In central places the network is not giving any problem.

I had galaxy s i9000m bought it from canada now want to use it in india with vodafone network but i am unable to use it as it gives me network signal problem as it keep on fluctuating but it works fine with idea and MTNL Dolphin. Is it somthng related to phone firmware installed or network frequency related ??what should i do?? samsung guys are not helping . please help.

[Q] Experiences with leaked P7320 stock rom?

Today I got tired of waiting for the ICS update for my GT P7320 (Netcom, Norway), so I odin-installed the leaked 4.0.4 stock I found over in the dev forum. Turns out it isn't Swedish as it says over there, it's Polish. Everything works great, except LTE. Any mode with LTE (LTE only, HDSPA + LTE, GSM + HDSPA + LTE) gets no network connection at all.
This tab has lost LTE twice, once replacing the SIM worked, once replacing the sim didn't work but factory reset did. So I'm not 100% sure the issue is the rom. Any netcom users have experience with this stock?
I'm also looking for tools to diagnose these LTE connection troubles.

I have the same problem that vintermann describes.
Everything is OK except LTE connections.
I tried some ROMs from Sammobiles but without any success.
What's wrong with my device?
Shall I wipe all user data with recovery mode juste after flashing?
Please help.

Hello,
Yes, my APN is correct. I tried to keep modem part of the ROM from a 3.2 ROM with 4.0.4 ROM so the system see 4G signal but can't detect operator. So that doesn't work.
Other idea?
