So I'm still trying to learn and I guess I'm moving kinda slow but with the holidays so close... well you get the point. Anyway, I extracted some of the system apks with ninja morph. Themed them and it worked out pretty well. My question is where are the framework res folders so I can theme the status bar in aosp for example?

system\framework\framework-res.apk.
Inside the framework-res.apk
res\drawable-mdpi\
Images will be as follows:
statusbar_background.9.png = the status bar(with the time, battery.ect)
status_bar_item_background_normal.png = displays ongoing notificatition such as music, downloading ect.
status_bar_item_app_background_normal.9.png = basically the same as above. Nedds to be edited a well to avoid mis-matches.
status_bar_header_background.png = displays the carrier name
status_bar_close_on.9.png = bottom of the drop down.
status_bar_background.png = the background for the drop down.
That should cover it hope this helps.
caus the topic name is good for me to:
where are the png files i need to edit to get a custom background on the lockscreen ? ( the normal lockscreen from froyo 2.2 )
Just changed from ADW to Launcher7 for the default homescreen and its perfect. Disable animations and you've got nice big easy to read icons for the 6 or so apps that anyone would typically use on a NST.
Agree, but I do find myself wasting a lot of time making transparent white icons for all my apps.

Thanks! Hadn't heard of this before. Definitely like it for my Nook Simple Touch.
Took a little time to tweak the font colors, tile pictures, etc. But I now have a simple clean interface with only a handful of tiles: Amazon Kindle, Nook Library, FBReader, Gmail, Amazon Appstore, and Android Market.

Great tip! I bought Launcher 7 back in the day, but haven't used it in ages. Comes in really handy now. For those who want it: you get a free version in the market.
This is what I did with it (for now).

Let's say u leave your Nook in a sleep mode for a night (~12hours). How much battery %% it will drain?

Sorry for the late response. I've been on holiday. Here are the icons in case you still want them:
I am currently using ADW, and I would like to try Launcher 7, but I cant seem to find Launcher 7 on my nook... When using the search market app, I can find all sorts of themes for go launcher but not launcher 7. I can find it when searching on my laptop. does this have to be sideloaded? Or can you get it through the market on the nook when connected wirelessly?
EDIT: Got it downloaded with some file juggling, seems ok so far...
so how can i set launcher7 as my default home? i try after pressing N and i only have the option for relaunch or [nook] home.
ideally i'd like tiles in this order (all 1x1)
-------------------------------------------------
| |
[Nook]Home | Library |
| |
----------------------------------------------------
| |
Glowlight | Search |
| |
----------------------------------------------------
| |
Relaunch | Settings |
| |
-----------------------------------------------------
however i cannot seem to add a tile for [Nook] Home, or make launcher7 the default home app

Hello. I am using NST Rooted 1.2.1. No exactly been able to change settings to enable the working of launcher7 as the default page on boot. Nook Touch Mod manager doesnt have an option for the same.
two more questions
Hi, Launcher7 looks really cool so I am trying it out.
Ran into two problems:
1- I can't seem to change the tile icons (from the ones that some generous users linked). I try to change the picture from 'image on sdcard' but my gallery is blank. How do I add the PNG files so that they show up in the gallery?
2- Is there a way to create a tile that simulates the upper left (book) button on the nook-status bar? (The button that brings you back to the page book you last read). I think it would be awesome to have a large tile just for that button, since I only read one book at a time.
Thanks for any help!

You don't use gallery. I use Total Commander instead. Install it, then you'll be asked to choose the default app for the task, and choose the commander. Also you could use any other file manager.

Yes, just choose the reader.apk as the app. I only guess it works (as the upper left), because I use CoolReader instead.
Cheers!

Hello, This is dark theme mods based on deodexed files of auras76's RomAur ROM and djsnoopyxxl's mod apps. With my noob skill, I decompiled their mod apps & deodexed apps, compared them, copied & pasted them to meet my need. All icons & others graphics that isn't stock belongs to djsnoopyxxl. I added my variant of text color a liitle bit. Basically these files are deodexed but they're working with stock odex rom and should be working deodexed rom too (I'm stock odex).
I've tested this mods on my XZL (original thread) and confirmed working on XZ by some of you guys (thanks for risking your XZ guys )
And as always, Use it as your own risk (and bla bla bla )
How to install
do a full backup before installing, just in case.
install via cwm.
wipe cache & dalvik cache.
reboot.
(hopefully) enjoy
I didn't test all menu/screen of these apps but i'm sure there are some of them that still has stock-eye hurting look. If you guys test it and found them or other glitches/bug. Pls tell me, i'll try to fix them

great job mate. it is realy good. we are waiting for more!!!
one little glitch i found. it is not serious, but it is there:
if you go to edit a merged phonebook entry (for example a phone book entry which is merged with a skype entry), then there is a white background theme with white letters and grey text input fields. it should be black background theme with white letters and grey input fields...

just another thing i found:
during a call, if you press the audio select button, if you have a bluetooth connected, there is a pop up menu, where you can select the audio output.
with your mod this menu has white background with white text, while it should be white text with black background...
is it possiblw to resize the contact picture to be inside the frame below the upper call bar because whenever a full contact photo is displayed during a phone call, the number and name get disappeared since the backround is transparent and the text is white

So the new Sense 6 update is out, i thought we/i need a help thread about it:
i have a few problems/questions:
1. The lockscreen transparency is moddable? it is too transparent for me and i cant read the sms on it. 5.5 was also transparent, but i dont really remember how it did it to be readable, i never had this problem
2. also, this sms notification has moved in the upper part of the screen and when i slide it upwards it doesnt take me to sms application as it used to do any fix?
3. i can't find a setting in camera for selecting the resolution of the pictures, also, some blueish/magenta tint in dark areas, which i didnt have with previous version
4. all the ringtones are changed/modded, they sound like a girlish version of the previous ones, i kinda liked the old ones better, does anyone have them somewhere?
5. you guys continue
thanks

I'm not a fan of the new Gallery app. Seems a bit clunky. Albums are now favored instead of Events. However when you add photos to a new album, you can't delete the photo if you don't like it. You can only Remove it from that album, not delete it. To delete it you have to go back to all Camera shots, or the Timeline, find the photo then delete it.

3. It's not there, I think the maximum resolution is forced. About the blueish tint - maybe White balance is off, I think I remember other saying, that it needs a little calibration.
4. If you download a sense 5.5 ROM, you can use the ringtones by putting it in to the/system (or even on the external memory in their folders).
Hey everyone --
I was so used to using the Nexus "X" logo as my applications drawer icon on my Nexus 4 and 5 that I didn't think twice about also using the OnePlus logo as that phone's app drawer icon. However, I couldn't find a version that was translucent. So I created one, plus one, plus one... eventually creating more than what I originally intended. I have now done the same thing here, creating some translucent icons (in defiance of Material style guidelines!) for the Moto X Pure. Of course, the icon designs are undoubtedly owned by Motorola, or Google, or Lenovo...? and are for personal use only. Also known as more free branding on people's already-branded phones. Nonetheless, I hope this will save some folks the time and effort if they want to use these as icons, as their custom launchers (like Nova or Apex) permit. I've given instructions on how to do that for the app drawer in post #5 of this thread.
Some screenshots are included below to give you an idea what I'm talking about...
Please note that these files are in the .png format -- that's because transparency is supported in that format far more easily than .jpg. My trial and error indicates that they have to remain in .png format to remain transparent...
Have fun!
Changelog:
2015-09-24 -- Initial set is up! Current multicolored logo, colored circle logo and variations, see post #2
2015-09-30 -- Classic blue, classic red, and classic black logo with variations, see post #10
2015-10-01 -- Thread reorganized so the initial post won't have dozens of images to load, with links to all icons provided in this changelog. Such as the Material Red variations, see post #11
2015-10-10 -- Watery blue pebble, Shiny black pebble with variants, and colored M with variants see post #12
2015-10-21 -- The icon used by Motorola apps was doctored with white, translucent, and clear M variations; in addition, the inverse (M that is colored/patterned by the Motorola app icon) was also added. See post #15

The steps are roughly the same, whether it's Nova or Apex Launchers.
1. Download the graphic image(s) you want to use from my original post.
2. Long-press the App Drawer icon (i.e. hold it for 2 seconds) so that a menu appears
3. Tap Edit, and the next menu shows the name and graphic image associated with that icon
4. Tap the graphic image (for App Drawer, it's usually a circle with several dots in it)
5. Navigate the choices and select the graphic image you downloaded in Step 1.
Good luck!

Glad you liked it! It's one of a series that I published in the Play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=watchtowerwidgets.zwskin.knightwatch
Some disclaimers... I would never discourage anyone from offering compensation for my hard work, but people interested in my widget skins in the Play store need to know the following:
- It's a paid app.
- And you also must have Zooper Pro installed (another paid app)
- Some widgets (the ones that show your Calendar events) require you to manually change settings in Zooper Pro to appropriately wrap text based on your quadHD screen resolution. Instructions to that are in the Play store listing.
- The Captain America version isn't available (private collection)

Awesome! Using the whiteM one its amazing
For those who appreciate the understated classic Motorola icon, it's now available with blue, red, and black backgrounds!
Icons, in order: whiteMclassicblue, translucMclassicblue, clearMclassicblue, whiteMclassicred, translucMclassicred, clearMclassicred, whiteMclassicblack, translucMclassicblack, clearMclassicblack
Material Red
For like 15 milliseconds, Google owned Motorola -- in a power play for patents, it turns out -- and then sold it to Lenovo.
During that very brief period, Google made a subtle change to the classic red Moto logo, which is being trotted out here in three variations I'm calling Material Red
Icons, in order: whiteMmaterialred, translucMmaterialred, clearMmaterialred
Here's some interesting takes on the Moto logo -- the watery blue icon that's present in boot animations, and variations on the shiny 3D-like button.
Finally, I thought it be a good idea to throw up a white background. But if you look at the M, those colors are precisely the same and the pattern identical to the multicolored background of Moto's official current logo. It's as if this M would fit right into the white M of the official logo...
Icons, in order:
waterybluepebble
whiteMshinyblackpebble, translucMshinyblackpebble, clearMshinyblackpebble
coloredMwhite, coloredMtransluc, coloredMclear

No worries, I've downloaded the icon you talked about and will furnish you with the stylized M atop it in white, translucent and clear variants. Should be up tomorrow... and thanks for your support!
As requested by @countryfolk07, here's the icon from Motorola apps with superimposed white, translucent, and clear stylized-M variations. Enjoy!
Edit: And while I'm at it, I might as well provide the INVERSE of the above (i.e. the stylized M with app icon colors with white, translucent, and clear backgrounds)

I can reproduce your issue with Nova Launcher.
I downloaded one of my png files in this thread using the XDA app (it was named Tapatalk_something.png) and tried to apply it to the drawer icon, and got the black square background. Checked the MD5 checksum with my original and the newly downloaded file matched. So it's not a bad download, but since it works with Apex Launcher, I suspect it was how Nova processed the downloaded image. So here's the good news: I found a way to make transparency work!
Here's the workaround:
- Download the image (it will be in your download folder)
- move/copy it anywhere else (to another folder, even a subfolder within the download folder)
- use the moved/copied image (in the non-download folder) as your icon and transparency works!
Good luck!
Tried multiple times no luck!

Hold on I got it... Using root explorer to select the file was not working. Move the image then use photos to select worked.
