Soak is pushing tomorrow AM......... About to FXZ back to .905.........
Just got the email myself. We'll see what we're dealing with pretty soon. Not loving these "this won't take us to JB" mutterings, but I'm an optimist.

I've fxz back to 905 but am rooted...will Voodoo OTA Root allow the soak to flash?
Thanks,

Ummmm..... I believe Motorola will still push the soak test out. It's possible Verizon pushes it shortly after, but who knows. I think Droid 4 went down that way. Verizon said, "It's here". Soak test next day. Push to end-users the following evening. I could be wrong though. Too many chiefs, not enough Indians.
Yes it's doing an ota today. It's already being pushed. I'm trying to get someone who's rooted to pull it and get me the md5 hash for it.

That would be appreciated. Just need someone who's getting the update pushed to pull it from /cache before they allow it to install.

The OTA update was a bit of an ordeal. Phone was out of commission for an hour and change, but so worth it. Snappy even on the stock launcher, but now that I have Nova installed it's even better. We'll see how battery life works as we go, but initial impression is positive overall.

I figured as much. One minor annoyance is that in trying to go back and re-root after the update, I can't seem to get mass storage switched off, which iirc is a prereq for getting Pete's to work. Anyone have a workaround for this?

Yes. I've verified. What's pushing out is the same as the leak I posted with the House. MD5 is identical.

Um, Pete's root won't work on ICS unless he's updated it. Search for razr's edge. And you're looking for MTP mode in ICS.

Well, I guess I finally complained about the data issue on my Bionic enough and they are sending me a Razr tomorrow. My question - I'm running Eclipse 3.0. I had to FDR a few weeks back when troubleshooting everything with big red, and that didn't erase anything. Based on my limited research, to go completely back to stock I have to find RSD lite and an FXZ file and reflash the phone with that? Is this necessary if just sending it back to them? Or will I be fine shipping it back as is?
Thanks in advance!

You should probably fxz it. There is at least a possibility that someone would pay attention and you would get nailed for full no contract retail for the razr and fxz is easy and takes about 15 mins.

Went ahead and went to 902, figure that's good enough for a warranty return. Thanks, it was alot easier than I thought! Now I guess I gotta go find some cool roms for the razr.
Man they sent you a Razr, that sucks, I would have hoped for the Razr Maxx.
I'd rather have the Bionic than the Razr.

If you fxzed 902 all you have to do is go to settings/about phone/check for update and you'll ota to 905. I think leaving it at 902 might make someone wonder how you got off path.

Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda app-developers app
haha me too
I did too. I am afraid to install official ICS Beta. Have the phone working so nicely right now. You know what, I'm not going to do it. For 3 reasons:
1) Am already running .232 already, no point in reverting it back to .905 just to install basically the same thing which isn't even the finished products.
2) They asked if I have rooted. If I answer yes, there goes my warranty for sure.
3) Hmm had one but forget what it was.
Either way, I will wait for official to come out and get peoples reviews. For all I know it will be crappier than .232 and I won't be able to go back to GB.
Same. Tingling with anticipation. Already defrosted my bloatware.

Do you have to be running .905 to receive the invite? Or just to receive the soak...

To clarify you don't have to be on .905 for the invite, that is just emailed and you fill out a survey. You do have to be on .905 to get the OTA update (or to pull it once available).

Make sure to leave the update on your ext sdcard so if anything ever goes wrong you can use the reinstall option and save from boot loop or brick as LNG as you leave that update file there.

The process s actually very easy and explains it step by step. My only mistake was I had to extract the files from the fwz set up file. At first when I launched the .bat file said files were missing from there. I extracted the files and piece of cake from there.
I just made a folder on my homescreen and put everything in one folder. Also roots it for you as well.
Did you get the invitational emails for the soak? Did you check in on the moto forum? If you got the invites but not the system update you could have requested a re-push to your MEID. However the soak is now over. The general release will be within a few days. Either download the 246 soak or wait it out. Sorry you missed it.

Just about every hour of the day, I have touched my finger on that "Check Now" button in the System Updates page. It keeps saying I am up to date, although my system software number still says it is 4.2.2. I am on stock android, non-rooted, and I live in the USA. I just don't get it.
Also I am EST, so right now it is 9:18 pm as I post this.
It always takes a day or two for the rollout to get to everyone. Just chill, you'll probably get it by tomorrow.

Android 4.3 Notes:
Based on Android 4.3 release notes, on Enterprise and Security, Restrict Setuid from Android Apps, su binaries and Superuser apps designed for previous Android generation will simply not work on 4.3:
It means preserving root with OTA Root Keeper won't be possible anymore as new rooting techniques rely on more than just a setuid su binary in /system.
I'll look into solution of course to preserve the functionality if possible, but until then please follow Chainfire's job on SuperSU betas.

Ok so I got the update a few days ago and it failed to install because I'm unlocked and rooted and all that jazz. So I grabbed the zip file out of /cache and uploaded it here:

For what it's worth, the last few times I've checked for an update, my phone says I'm up to date even though I'm still on 4.2.
