Hi there! I have a galaxy mini s5570. tried to install cwm recovery on it! first rooted it by recovery. then tried to install cwm by stock recovery by renaming the cwm package to update.zip and applying update from sdcard. Unsuccessful! then tried to install cm10 using the stock recovery by renaming it again to update.zip using stock recovery. got success message in recovery. but wen i rebooted, it got stuck at samsung. tried to flash cwm via odin. failed in first turn but den i got successful at once. then even the stock recovery is gone! now odin won't flash anything in my galaxy. tried to flash stock rom but it stuck on "mibib download". when flashing recovery, it gets stuck on "recovery.img download". wen booting the phone or getting into recovery, a strange ""[pc]---[exclamation mark]---[phone]"" icon appears! tried everything but can't get rid of it! HELP PLZ!

What u just did was absurd. NOBODY flashes a custom rom on stock recovery! Also, NOBODY flashes CWM by changing the file name to update.zip!
Here's what you should do next:

It's just another form of download mode. It's the download mode when there isn't any rom installed on your phone I think. What you should do is to go to that screen, plug in your USB cable, and flash stock rom via odin.
Try following the guide in my sig.

dude i have one samsung galaxy y gt-s5360 and samsung galaxy 5 gt-i5500. i have flashed those two a hundred times using odin and never got any problem! den why i am getting stuck in galaxy mini only? even the procedure is all the same if flashing via odin in any of these samsung android phones!
Since you have experience in flashing phones you should've know that stock recovery is useless for custom roms... try getting USB jig, it might help... you can make your own very cheap, tietgan posted guide about it and I know that guide works, bcause I made one on my own and tested it

Flashing via odin only, doesn't mean u know how to flash custom roms. Anyways, u should've flashed cwm via odin and then using cwm for custom rom. So last resort is usb jig (as said by yackovsky) which should work most of the time. Else its service centre with the excuse u updated OS and the phone does not work now. Gud luck. Hope u get the mini back from the dead.

Rename ur ops file to TASS_v1.0.ops (for galaxy mini). This should work. Mbib download problem occurs only due to wrong name of ops file.
Also, note that if ur ops file name is wrong, You'll not see ur device model number on odin's title bar.
Hope this helps!!

you used odin to flash a cf-root kernel.. for some reason (either it was a wrong kernel or something else) your rom is not booting... the one I told to flash is a stock rom / darkryrom which comes with its own kernel..

As I said, a pic would be better to identify the problem... and if you are not facing any problem with darkyrom, flash that and then choose any rom of your choice and follow the instructions given in the first post of the rom to flash it...
I recommend staying on darky's for sometime and read about different roms and stuff to make a choice..

It doesn't work with this firmware always the same problem
I think there is a problem with the internal memory, have you seen the first photo?
formatting data it gave me this:
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
seems that it can't access to the memory
earlier you wrote that you could only find .tar and .dll file in the zip downloaded from sammobile.com, how were you able to flash that?
I read through the other threads.. found three more methods to try to get rid of this problem..
First one
using odin just flash the pit file first.. click on repartition but don't click on auto reboot... after its a success... flash rest of the three files I mentioned earlier (you didn't get those three files from the firmware you downloaded from sammobile.com, I don't know why, so maybe this won't work for you)
Second
http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/odin-rom-darkys-resurrection-edition-9-2.895/
use the above link to download Darky resurrection rom 9.2 .. its a froyo rom I know.. but first lets get your phone working then we can upgrade it to GB... This may work as I think it converts partitions to ext4 system (not sure) so that rfs system error that you were getting shouldn't cause any problems..
Third
Darky Resurrection 10.2
This also uses lagfix that is converting partition to ext4 but as mentioned in the link, it doesn't convert /system in ext4...
Also, go through the link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264603
maybe something in here could help

a link will be posted here in sometime where you'll be able to get all the three files along with the pit file for the stock rom.. That is the last thing as per me that can rectify your problem.. once you get all the files.. flash... if that doesn't work then I'll suggest download the stock rom for your region from sammobile and flash it even if its just one tar file before taking it to the service centre

I have tried this toolkit, it seems fine, but I still can't get improvements flashing a new recovery (cwm or stock).
And the firmware links are all out because the hotfile service is out, so I can't get any download for a flashable ROM through ODIN.
Hello everyone ! I have a samsung galaxy s3 mini i8190
I flash CM , but i didn't like it so i tried to install with odin the original firmware.
Problem: Bootloop (logo Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini reboot infinite loop)
I can't enter in Recovery Mode, only i can enter in Download Mode
I use ODIN to try to install CWM , but still don't work..
And i have another problem. When I click start (in odin) it stops at SetupConnection, but if I disconnect & reconnect (usb) it starts flashing.
Please, help me.
Try to flash stock recovery instead of CWM.

I said this in the thread. If i'm wrong, please correct me.
Your kernel is f****ed up. You need to find any rooted stock kernel, flash it with Odin and then flash CWM. You don't need whole ROM, only kernel. Happened to me a lot while I was still on SGS1.
As for connection problem, perhaps clearing all drivers from your win and reinstall them could help.

Yes you did, but I asked you to try with STOCK RECOVERY instead.
It's not always a part of the official firmware package.

Download service firmware and solve all your problems
Then just flash whatever rom you'd like.
Thanks a lot tys0n ! My Phone works now!
Mine has the same problem! I flashed kernels and params as well!

What if my device cant be recognised by my pc. Ive tried every pc/laptop I own with different OS. So basically I have a bootloop stuck phone with no recovery mode available and it doesnt connect to the pc. Is there any way to fix that? Or is the phone completely bricked and I cant do anything about it.
PS: I have tried installing latest samsung drivers on my pc but it still cant recognise the phone.
Have had this phone for 6 years and it was ****ing amazing. I missed this little guy and want to fix him just as a "souvenir" since it was my first ever smartphone.
On my note gt-n7000 device, I have installed cwm using hiemdall. Now I am only able to go to the recovery mode by pressing the vol up + home + power keys, but when I try to boot normally, it stops at the boot screen. Please help me how I can come out of this boot loop. I have tried things like removing cache but they didn't work. I want to know what can be done to boot normal to my android. Or alternatively if I install CM from my sdcard will it boot normally to CM or it still continues to struck with CWM?
Start by telling us how you installed cwm

Try flashing a custom ROM and see if it boots
Just mount USB storage from recovery and flash the zip file

I downloaded the cwm for my model (samsung galaxy note gt n7000) and flashed it when the mobile is in download mode using heimdall suite with the following command
heimdall flash --kernel zImage --no-reboot
I don't know whether the no-reboot has caused such error. But when I have gone through the readme.txt for heimdall suite help, it says that the no reboot only prevents it from automatically getting it rebooted but should work fine when we use the power button.

Since I am unable to boot normally now itself. I am worried if the same things continues even after flashing new ROM.

By flashing a new rom, u basically rewrites existing program and commands of your device, so if not due to wrong flash procedures or bad download, there's no way your phone won't boot.

Okay, but I have one more doubt about how to flash. I am thinking of flashing it with CM 10.2 and hence downloaded the zip. Now can I copy paste the zip file on to my external sd card, put it back to my mobile and flash it or is it better to use adb commands to transfer the file and flash. I just want to know whether the difference in these methods can cause any problem?

All u need is to copy the zip.file n gapps to your external sd, reboot to recovery, flash r4/r5 kernel, reboot recovery again and follow OP of installing CM 10.2

Thats incorrect...You cannot flash the file you got from CWM site on N7000. Now do not flash using CWM.. Flash a stock rom using Odin or download Philz kernel tar file and flash it usiing odin...
I meant which firmware... if it was JB, after flashing Philz XXLTA or XXLSZ kernel try to boot the phone...

yea I was having JB. So, now since that cwm which I have installed is wrong, now I can only install roms through odin? Can you tell me the versions of odin and cm that are compatible for n7000.

First get the phone booting... Install Philz XXLTA kernel TAR file using odin and check if the phone boots.

how did you install?
I got that the error is due to samsung kies which is trying to interfere with odin. I unchecked "Run Samsung Kies automatically when a device is connected" option from tools -> preferences in kies and tried. It worked and I got the phone booted normally back to JB now.
