How big is your userbase? Perhaps you can run a donation drive to get the funds.

[Q] Where is out Q and A at?

j/w where and when we will have one? i thought i read that shotgun put in the request but thats the last i heard of it?
it would be nice to get one so we could clean this general section up
anyone else feel the same way?
Yes, I do! I am even willing to make a newb guide to assist in helping steer people to the right places to help with rooting, etc.

We do need a q&a section. Even the dev threads are getting littered with repeat questions.

It is my understanding that a device must reach a certain amount of traffic/posts to get a Q&A section.
I read somewhere in these forums that a device needs to reach 10,000 posts for it to receive a q&a section. For which, we are actually almost there.

"we" are almost there because of the repeat offenders who keep clogging up dev threads. ?

I have asked this too. shogunmark said he has already made the request. It was a while back so I don't know.

Right now we are at 9,650+ posts. About 300 or so more and we should see it.

Well the One X already has over 15000 posts in General.
Wonder how that reflects this handset...
J/K the One X is a global roll out vs the Holiday/Raider/Vivid/Velocity...
Ours is a global phone as well. It may not have the popularity but given how many questions are asked everyday we need a section for questions.

There's already a thread for "what are you drinking", and I don't see the need for a "what are you smoking" thread.
Just post both in the drinking thread, after you search, which you should do before you create threads

Post your picture!

Not sure if it will blow up as much as it did on other forums cos hell I'm not posting one but it is fun if no one starts making stupid comments or pointing out imperfections

ART questions

Ok I have some questions about the new ART mode in KitKat. 1) what is it? 2) which is better, ART or dalvik? 3) what are the pros and con's of using one over the other? 4) what would one have to do to make an app compatible with ART? Does the all's developer have to do it or is it something one can change on their own?
Thanks.

I had the same question before, Google's search engine helped a ton.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
That's right why bother asking a small group of devs with specific experience in phones when you can just do an unfiltered search of the entire internet.
Sent from my MB886 using xda app-developers app
Because when you do an "unfiltered search of the entire internet" for ""What is ART runtime"" the second link, because I felt like reading the first link to easy, literally answers every question. With bolded titles on each topic he asked about.

And still no link...
Sent from my MB886 using xda app-developers app
Stop trying to be rude and understand that all his questions have been extensively discussed around the internet and partly on XDA itself, I said it was the second link to the corresponding search phrase. That's enough to go do it yourself, but whatever here: http://www.infinum.co/the-capsized-...ntroducing-the-new-android-runtime-in-kit-kat
Lol what's funny is the link is now the first search result when using the phrase I provided.
