[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Pons AOKP JB Inc builds - Droid Incredible Android Development

AOKP JB Pons
Goo.Im Download for Kangs
Dev-Host Mirror
(updated only on request)
MediaFire Mirror
(updated only on request)
Evervolv Gapps
(recommended due to their smaller size)
Goo.Im Gapps
Merged Commits for Jellybean
(aka Changelog)
What this ROM is:
Full version of AOKP JB using tiny's/chad's incredikernel synced and compiled from source
Uses only AOKP, and...
missing components from Evervolv
incredikernel source from tiny4579
and my HTC Incredible device tree
Now supports OTA updating via the Goo Manager app
Removed (with my suggested replacements, if any)
SuperSU (I use Superuser compiled from source instead)
Known issues:
PREFACE: I haven't tested this as extensively as CM10, so there may be hidden bugs. It's early, and I'm going for coffee.
Currently doesn't boot. Working on it to get it fixed.
Performance settings, particularly CPU, don't stick
Watching YouTube videos causes the phone to reboot flickers occasionally
Video camera has a very low fps (it stutters)
USB Tether (and the toggle for it) FC's
anymore, let me know
Source/Sauce (in case you missed it)
AOKP (I use their manifest.xml)
Evervolv (I use parts of their frameworks and other repositories to fix qsd8k specific issues)
My device tree for the Inc
Incredikernel by tiny
FAQ:
[Q] Gee, Pons, this here looks fun. How do I compile it myself?
[A]Here ya go, lil guy. Just follow these instructions: How to Compile AOKP JB for the Inc (if you encounter any issues using this to compile, please report here so I can troubleshoot and update if need be)
Why a thread? Basically, a couple of users have asked me to do this, and jellybellys hasn't pushed one out in almost two months, nor responded to his thread in even longer. I did ask him if he plans to continue support via PM, and he said yes (but is busy with a thing called life), so this is only to tide those over who like AOKP over CM10. I'll quit building them when he starts up again.
Credits/Thanks
All credit goes to Cyanogen and the rest of the CM team (who's work Team Kang borrows heavily from), and especially our HTC Incredible maintainers, as listed by the CyanogenMod site: jistone (aka CUViper/This Guy), slayher, and of course, koush. Of course, don't forget about the Evervolv team, who has given our qsd8k device a lot of love. And how could we forget Team Kang, since this is AOKP, after all
In addition, I'd like to thank Albinoman for bringing AOSP JB to the Inc first, Zimeron for bringing CM10 to the Inc first, tiny4579 for his incredikernel, and JellyBellys for bringing AOKP to the Inc first.
For some reason, I have received several requests to put a donation link in my profile. You can always donate to the CyanogenMod project or the Evervolv project or Team Kang, but if you feel you HAVE to donate to me, I've put a link in my profile, and all donations will go towards upgrading my computer, so I can stay on top of this for CM10/11/and beyond.

Lol, saw this in goo when I was seeing if you had put up a new build of CM10 before I found this thread. Nice surprise to say the least

Quit cheating and use the Goo Manager app.

I switched from your CM10 to this and so far so good. Having choice is great, and this seems to be a good ROM thus far.
Thanks Pons!

If anyone runs into bugs that aren't listed in the OP, (especially big ones), please let me know. If I get enough confirmations or if I can replicate it myself, I'll add it to the OP.
Also these probably won't be nightly. I'll look at how AOKP does their releases and their merges, but a tentative schedule will be I'll release when AOKP releases or if there's a lot of merges or if I fix a groundbreaking bug.

It has been running great for me; nice and responsive, stable in what I've done.
One thing that I've noticed is that for some reason, it seems that switching activities holds the possibility to cause some graphical glitches (visually similar to what we see with the camera, but on the UI). Not a big thing, and it doesn't happen every time, but I figured I'd mention it.

Alright well it can be unofficial builds like their Sunday releases but UNOFFICIAL and my battery is better on AOKP than cm10

I love this! Thanks Pon!

Looks like notifications have no sound for me. Tried various methods but no go. I've had quite a bit of issue with notifications being very quiet or not at all on all JB roms.
Forgot to mention otherwise it runs great.

is your profile set to silent?

Hey, Pons, loving this ROM so far. it is very smooth and responsive. Any idea why performance settings (frequency, governor, and scheduler) don't stick after a reboot? They return to default even though I enabled the set on boot toggle. Not sure if it's a bug, kernel design, or something else altogether. Thanks again.
Anyone else have this problem or any recommendations? Should I be using a third party app like SetCPU?

Going to test this out, then add to bug list once I confirm. Depending on how long work takes tonight, I might or might not get a chance to fix it. It's probably a permission issue somewhere.
Edit: confirmed.
Edit edit: and updated bug list with it. Thanks for the report.

Thanks, I sure do appreciate your time, whatever the outcome... Also, just curious, is it normal for AOKP to not have a WiFi AP (hotspot) notification toggle? I found that kind of odd.

Not sure. I never really used AOKP. To double check, you'd have to look at an officially supported device (with WiFi AP capabilities) and see if they have it.

Just tossing in my observations as well, in case it's possibly related: in my instance, the ROM Control app was unable to modify build.prop to change the DPI setting. It told me that it had, but in fact the file was untouched. I just did it with ROM Toolbox instead, but ROM Control offered me no error messages or information.

[ROM] Cyanogenmod 7 Source Builds for Incredible (1/11/11) (Big speed increase)

(All credit to Cyanogenmod team and a huge thank you to gridlock32404 for taking over until the official nightlies are back)
The builds I link to now are maintained by gridlock32404 and are built from the most current github code around twice a day. These are NOT put out by the official CM team but they are the same code that they would build from. Please keep any discussions about the older nightlies in the other "CM Nightlies" topic here. So with that, the current CM7 source build:
Recent Changes:
http://review.cyanogenmod.com/
Known Issues:
-USB mounting of any kind (fixed as of gridlock build #28)
-LED blinking (fixed as of gridlock build #40)
-Some people report location issues (I haven't heard any reports lately)
-Rom Manager interaction with current Clockwork Mod is broken (fixed)
-No hardware acceleration yet (appears to be huge graphics speed boost as of build #45 though)
-Camcorder missing 720p (recording should now work though as of build #40)
Installation:
Rom & Gapps Download (Torch app is now included):
http://phones.crackflashers.com/inc/
Download both the Gapps and the CM7 zip files. If you download build 27, you will need a new kernel as the default one bootloops. I will still try to keep the list of known issues up to date with the nightlies so let me know if some bug is either fixed or appears as time goes on. The source builds are really coming together now so I highly encourage users to check them out! Cheers
Rule of thumb: If you are having issues and haven't already, do a clean wipe. Please lets keep bug reports down to what is actually wrong and not issues caused by upgrading from stable, nightly, or and older source build to the newest source build.
"First rule about crackflashers is we don't talk about crackflashing.
Second rule of crackflashers is we don't talk about crackflashing.
Third rule of crackflashers is we don't talk about changelogs."

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Tiny's CM10 Inc builds

CM10 Tiny
Goo.im nightlies
Evervolv Gapps
Goo.im Gapps
My Latest Gapps
These are straight from based off of Pon's CM10 setup with his cherry-picks and the latest merged changes from Evervolv and CM10 for Android 4.1.2.
Pon's post with further information is found here
Merged commits from Gerrit for CM10 (This isn't all inclusive but it's most of the changes)
Pons asked for someone to build for the time being as his computer is out of commission. I agreed to do so. This build will be updated semi-regularly or when significant features are introduced. I don't have a timeline on a build schedule or the frequency of the builds.

Hello, When will this download be available? I will test it for you. Thanks for taking over the job for everyone.
I'd say about 5-10 minutes from now. If you're using the goo manager app it won't show up right away. Also there will be no OTA notification for this first build coming from Pons'. After that, it will be working again.
Thanks

Think of it as a nightly. It will generally be stable but sometimes stuff will break. This one seems to work just fine. I don't see any issues aside from the known issues posted on Pons' thread.
Tiny... huge thanks for taking this over.. I am trying to put off buying a new phone (at full retail since they are going to have to pry the unlimited data from my cold dead hands) as long as possible.
You taking over from Pons... as well as Pons work.. is making this possible
Nice work, I'm surely gonna try .Keep up.
Thank you for picking this up, Tiny.
Dirty flashed over Pons 1120 and this works like a charm... Runs just as smooth.

Yeah thanks for this - the ROM is running great. For some reason, the date scrolls off the left edge of the lockscreen, not that I really care but it certainly looks odd.
Edit: I guess my phone just needed a good night's sleep, the lockscreen date is displaying properly now. That was weird though.
Oh, and offline voice typing (aka offline dictation) works on your build too, and using Pons's latest gapps. Though I'm pretty sure there's not enough of room on /system to just flash the ROM and those gapps without deleting some stuff from the ROM first. But I could be wrong.

When clicking Settings- Storage: "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped." Apparently, usb storage is set to mass storage by default since the PC detects both removable storage and internal storage, so no problem really unless you want to change the usb storage setting.

Been using it for about 2 hours now. Works pretty well and most features are there and functioning. I am encountering a good amount of lag though, which is expected for an alpha. Thanks again, FE.
edit: I overclocked to 1200 and set governor to Interactive, also allowed purging of assets. In addition I noticed the Maps app was restarting over and over so I uninstalled it w/ Titanium and things seem to be smoother.

Havent tested. 911. GPS works for me.
I am looking forward to development where in I could get the blinking BLN working so that my phone doesn't have to vibrate when i receive a message or mail when I put it in silent mode.
So far so good, still can't get the swipe feature to work on the keyboard. Shows the trace but no words appear.
GPS works about same as in CM10.
Any solutions for the swipe keyboard?

I think the American versions of the Galaxy S do have a gyroscope (or something close enough).
Here are some sources.
Thanks Pawitp and FE! Is there a phone that is just as old or even older than the Galaxy S that can still run the newest versions of Android so smoothly?
Although its "something close" its not a gyroscope, which is required for photosphere. Thanks for sharing this though.

D4 Carbon ROM

I saw this in another forum
http://goo.im/devs/carbon/maserati/nightly
I have currently have 6 ROMs on the root of my card and this one as of late has been my fav. Since I didnt see it on XDA for the D4 I figured I would post something about it. Here is the link to the page the has the specs about this rom and it has a link to Carbons page on GitHub.
Hope everyone in this community enjoys this rom and happy rooting.
The only place I saw this (at the time) was on goo.im.
Thanks for this, it's better then vanilla cm but with a little extra.
Hopefully now this will get more attention.

I have never had an issue with this...
Although users with GSM will...
It is sent out differently I believe.
Liquid is ok, although I do not use
anything higher then either 2.2 or 2.4.
This ROM so far is the best Ive run on my D4, after trying AOKP, Liquid, Avatar, and CM. The only issue I've run into, and I have never encountered before, is that my google contacts don't sync. Also on that note I can not edit, or create new contacts in the "people" app. I've downloaded another contact manager and am unable to edit or create in that one too. The contact editor will pop up then disappear in a matter of half a second. I have tried flashing the ROM on top of itself again, and also reinstalling gapps after wiping delvik cache. The rom is installed in slot-1 and I only have an AOKP rom installed in slot-2. Has anybody else experienced similar issues and had it resolved? I really don't want to go to another ROM after trying this one.
thank you for reading!
It is a shame this doesnt get more attention. This is a superb rom. I have more stability and functionality with this than CM or AOKP. Loved pacman's options of everything, but it was not stable either. This one just works! People really need to try this one out

Do you know if Carbon has to be installed on rom-slot1?

I think it does. If you flash it, there is a warning in the flashing screen about ROM slot 1.
Anyway, one of the most stable ROM I've ever used.
There is an annoying bug with setting CPU maximum frequency (not sure if anyone else experiences it) but it can be fixed by using "profiles" on SetCPU

Hi Folks,
I'm running Carbon too and I'm loving it. Believing that it's not available on Goo anymore (as AFAIK Goo.im folded), you can grab a copy from my Google Drive:

Hi there. I'm looking for the Carbon ROM and tried your google drive links without success. It would be great if you could let me know if they are still active and, if not, where it is possible to find the Carbon ROM for a Motorola Droid 4? Cheers. Bernard
I believe I have it ...
I'll upload it tomorrow.

Yes. I recommend wiping system and data as well. You can find gapps as usual at http://goo.im/gapps

I've just flashed the new cm10.2 nightly.
At the moment i can say it's pretty good, even though i've an issue with Trebuchet which crashes when i open a directory (not important, and surely it will be fixed).
One thing i don't like is the background in Settings app (and all applications that uses Hardware Acceleration) which is filled by stripes (this hasn't happened on stock 4.3 as far as i remember).
Said this, i'm happy to come back cyanogenmod

I've always had stripes/banding on my Nexus 7 with any ROM. I don't notice it anymore now now that I've had it for a few months, but when I first got it the banding literally hurt my eyes to look at them because they were incredibly obvious. I had a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 previously, the screen was worse and has less resolution, but it had smooth gradients and no banding.

The first time i noticed the stripes, i was using android 4.2 .
The background gradient was drawn by using some xml files in framework-res.apk which cause the banding. And there was a fix i never tried.
As far as i know, it should have been fixed in 4.3 and in fact i couldn't notice it in stock rom...
i don't know, maybe some new android changes in cyanogenmod source wasn't merged?
i am also having issues opening a folder-- trebuchet will crash. i hope they can fix this soon because i rely on folders very much.

I will not use a different launcher because that would defeat the purpose of installing cm10.2. But I did install a third party app for it. but then again, it would be so much nice that the folder thingy shouldn't have any issues.

because to me, installing cm10.2 is installing trebuchet. so, if i am not going to be able to use trebuchet then i might as well not install cm10.2. well nuff about that. btw, they have another nightly update, but the issues i am having are still not resolved.

report the bug to cm. Until then you can flash every nightly hoping that bug has been smashed.

Trebuchet is nice and all and I prefer it but for real if you don't like it there's a million launchers. I would suggest Nova.

Guess what, the issues I was having (opening a folder will crash trebuchet and upside down camera image in focal) were all fixed with the latest nightly. Running smooth with m-kernel.
Can't seem to load the Play Store after installing the latest nightly.
In last nightly lockscreen can't rotate!
U all can now post the bugs and quarries on the official thread here(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2412233)
