I tried...bt d prob was d same...so i came back to stock rom...
Maybe your router is the problem.
Try wpa-psk security on your router. My phone had same issue with wpa2-psk security.

I am on rooted stock LPY. I noticed that whenever I try to connect to wifi it says connecting then stuck at obtaining ip address and then disconnected. I have tried more than one router and I am getting the same results. I have googled this and one solution is to have a static ip address. The problem is that this setting is no longer available in ICS. Any idea how to fix this without wiping (I am too afraid to wipe given all the fuss about it).

Did you flash the LPY Rom with or without full wipe? That might be the cause.
You can flash a new modem and see if it's fixed. I can't think of anything else...
Experiment with frequency band under advanced wifi settings.

When i was on ICS i had the same issue.
This is what made it work for me:
- remove network from device, disable wifi and turn off device
- turn off internet modem(if you have any) and router, wait at least 2 min.
- turn on modem and router
- turn on device, enable wifi and connect to network
Hope it works out for you

With wifi disabled, if you have root, go to /data/misc/dhcp/ and delete all 3 files there.
I had problems on LPY where wifi would connect but ip address wouldn't get assigned.
Deleting the 3 files in /data/misc/dhcp/ fixed it for me. No probs since
Re-flash with wifi off, make the sincronization with google on 3g and then turn on wi-fi connection

I gathered all my courage and flashed a pre rooted GBrom via pc Odin, no wipes, no cleaning, no nothing . once back on GB i only performed one hard reset and felt confident enough to flash CWM back on it. I would give you the link, but am on my phone right now and can't find it, but the rom is in Bodivas thread around here.
It worked out well for me, but as you probably know...no garantuees.
Btw, sorry to see your wifi still not working

Hmm. Those 3/4 files should get recreated if DHCP is working properly on your phone.
Perhaps you phone is missing stuff in /system/etc/dhcpcd/?
Another thing just popped into my mind - did you restore your Wifi Access point details via Titanium Backup? I think that may have been an issue for me too on LPY... don't restore is best.
Or just downgrade to GB, full wipe and flash LPF
Do you have soundhound or dolphin browser hd installed?

I'm on LPY too. When I'm at office I have no issues with wifi connection but when I'm back home I start to have issues. It shows connected and I get no error or disconnected messages what so ever. But device looses wifi connection short time after connected. I check wifi connection on laptop and there is no problem but on my Note even though it shows connected I have no connection. Turning wifi off/on fixes it sometimes but most if the time it doesn't.

Finally ... wifi working as it should

Just flashed / rooted ZSLPF ICS following Dr. Ketan's guide and now I have wifi again . Having read so many posts about this, it would appear that the wifi issue has something to do with the CF-Root kerenal. Thanks buddy

I have a similar issue.. but only when I use a Stock Rom..
When I use a CyanogenMod based rom I connect normally.
Any suggestion if there's an option, in build.prop maybe, so I can fix this in a stock rom?
hi, you use a rom from XDA? is it happen after flashing a new rom, first boot, no mobile internet? -> how about some informations about runnign system etc. pp. was it working before with same rom? and so on....
if no internet after first boot: turn on wifi, go Settings/Xperia/Internet Settings , and try download the settings with wifi. how that?
second thought: your provider's fault?
Xperia V is not officially supported by my carrier, but I can use mobile data on cyanogenmod.
I tried to add APN for my carrier, but they don't appear, using APN Manager I could see and try to apply them, only to get an error.
I was willing to go back to stock rom 'cause I wanted to use sony's camera.. but mobile data is essential.. guess I'll to stick with cyanogenmod..
i have added my provider (three uk) network apn manually and it worked.. yesterday.. Now still I cant connect. No reaction at all. I've downloaded settings via wifi and didnt help. Im running official rom 9.1.A.1.141. It is not a provider fault - I used o2 before and it was the same problem. Sometimes restart helps. but not now,
edit. now restart helped.. i dont get it.. This is very enoying
Anyone have any ideia how to fix this issue?
In CM all APN are shown correctly, in any stock based rom I can't add any entries, or it's not shown.
PROBLEM SOLVED (NOT REALLY SOLVED BUT I KNOW WHY I GOT TROUBLES USING WI-FI)
I found out my router is the problem , i asked my friend which got the same router (Freebox , retailler : Free , France only i think) and my family too , and they have the same problem.
Hello everyone ,
It's been mounths now that i have this issue . My wifi connects to my router , and then 5 seconds later , it keeps uploading (Green arrow only) and internet don't work anymore. When i deactivate&reactivate my wifi , it takes 2 min to reconnect OR (ALMOST EVERYTIME) it keeps failing ("Authentification Error or nothing happens , just saying "Saved"). I'm really pissed off , i tried nearly everything :
- Turn Off Wifi Power Saving Mode (WIFI PSM)
- Reboot my router (tried about 5k times)
-Wifi set to "Always active"
On my XPERIA U , everything work perfectly and don't have any issues.
I'm using the official ROM FRANCE - XEF downloaded from sammobile.com .
When using CM11 (latest) downloaded from novafusion.pl, i had the same problems.
My phone is rooted.
Thanks in advanced for help.
Bump
Bump #2 . Anyone to help me ?

So, you mean you never try connecting your device on other router, except your home router? Did your family's phone/device have a same prob with this router?
