So I've been having problems with my internal memory, so I decided to try it out. The first problem came upon rebooting my phone. It said something like "android.process.acore stopped working". So I decided to just format the card again, but the place for swap was gone (about 200 mb-s), so I decided to format the whole thing to FAT 32. At first, the phone didn't boot. Then I wanted to reinstall TheWhisp's CM 10 mod which I've been using, but CWM recovery said that mounting the SD Card failed. I read somewhere that going back to a stock rom might help, but nope. I still installed CWM Touch 5.0.2.8, but it still can't mount my sd card. Can anyone please help me? The stock rom is stuck in a bootloop, so I can't use the phone.

Are u sure u removed the ext partition before u tried booting up your phone? Having an ext partition without a2sd would cause bootloops. If you have removed the partition, then have you removed the init.d file from cm10?

Thanks for the answer but I've solved it since then. Simply had to reformat two or three times, now it works. The only problem is that when I remove the card and put it back ES file explorer does not see it, but that's nothing.

Hi
I have some problems with my Dream now after an format fore EXT2 so I can use apps to sd.
I have CyanogenMod 4.0.4
Iv'e used an guide and console for formating my SD card 8gb class 6.
I've made an 7.2gb fat32
700mb ext2
50mb linux swap
After that I converted the ext2 to ext4, checked everything with print and it was ok.
Than when I've rebootet my phone it woudnt start up, it came to the android in blue, and that blinked some and than the screen went black.
So my plan was to upgrade the 4.0.4 to 4.2.5 anyway so I did that.
My phone was an 32B so I used the HTC_ADP_1.6_DRC83_rooted_base.zip
Everything went great with that, but when I tried restarting the problem was still there...
Dont know what to do know?
Remove the ext4 partition?
Try restoring your memory card to original and then try to partition it again.
Ive tried to restore my memory card, no help.
Ive tried to boot the phone with no memorycard, still no go...
Dont know what to try anymore..
1) Format the entire card as fat32
2) add other partitions
3) Wipe from recovery
4) Flash your rom
Also this sub forum is for development, which this clearly isn't.
Ok sry i thought this was the place to ask with this.
I got the phone booting up with 4.2.5 and it worked great.
All my programs waws gone so I need to install them again, but no worry.
So I now tried to format the memorycard again, looks like it didnt work again and im at my problem again...
Now it hangs on the T-mobile screen, so I guess out with the battery and try an reboot before I start all over again...
Maby I'm not supposed to have programs on my SD?
make sure you partition properly.
fat>ext>swap
you can install amon_RA's recovery and let that partition your card for you
Hi.
Ive sendt my phone back to originale software, and than upgraded again, and it seems like it's 4.2.5 and the ext partition that is the problem.
If I change SD card to one without the ext partition it's no problem to start after an whipe..
I've tried reinstalling 4.2.5 but no luck, maby I shall trie an ext3 insted of ext4?
Yes have followed the guide on the pratition, and Fat32, EXT than swap
I recently tried to flash Fresh Toast 2.1 and after 15+minutes my phone was stuck in a bootloop. I rebooted to recovery and deleted all the data and cache. Now no matter what ROM i try to flash it just keeps booting over and over. Anyone have any ideas? I was using apps2sd and completely formatted the sdcard, would this have affected anything? Also tried nandroid back up, but says "No files found" when I try to do so. Also when i try to format the sd:ext i get an error mounting sd:ext
In recovery try and format your sdcard with only a fat32 partition. Then try and enable ?MS-USB? and copy a ROM to your sdcard.Wipe data and dalvik and then flash ROM.
If that doesn't work try replacing your sdcard with another one.
Or you can push your ROM.zip to the sdcad through adb without mounting the sdcard
A2SD will only work if your sdcard is partition with EXT and swap. So if you don't have it partitioned then apps will install on your phone.
I gave it a shot but no luck, i am using the clockworkmod recovery 1.8.1.4.
I had the same issue happen the other day after a wipe and reinstalled rom... I have the same clock work mod you have also... what I noticed was that my phone only did that when I had the sd card in but once I removed it (after several hours of flipping out over it!) it booted fully.. but every time in reinserted the card, it rebooted.. so what I did was used paragon partition manager to create 3 partitions on the sdcard (i have an 8gb card) and made 2 Linux ext2 partition of 258mb or something close to it and the remaining was formatted at Fat32.. after I did this, I re-flashed my rom and everything has been working fine ever since... it may have been some corrupted files in the 2 Linux partition or something because I was running all my apps from the sd card and I had noticed the other day that every time I connected my hero to my laptop via usb, and launched pdanet, my phone rebooted...EVERYTIME.. and this is what led me down this road... If I made any mistakes here, I'm sure someone will correct me, as this is my first post...

Would you mind posting the steps to do that? Im pretty computer savvy but I need some steps to go from. Would I be better off picking up a new SD?
pulled the SD and it booted, thank god lol. Thanks for your help guys!
no problem... glad I could help.. as for the new sd card, you could very well just get another, but I managed to keep the one that I had but just reformatting it and re-flashing my rom (Damage Control v2.08.1) and it's been working fine since then..
Recently i bought an 8gB class 10 sdhc card. Put it in my phone it was working fine. I copied all the files from my old card exacty as they were mounted the card again and the phone says the card is damaged and reboots all the time.
I put it in a friends samsung galaxy3. The card worked fine and all files were there. So obviously it has to do with my phone.
I'm using gingerdx the latest version with stock kernel.
I'd appreciate all the help you could give me guys. Thanks in advance.
try to format your sdcard (backup fist)
don't perform quick format..
still can't try format using phone..
then make a partition..
on developer forum we have a [guide] how to partitionning sd card
Nothing. I tried what you said I even reflashed my rom and worked it with no extra apps but phone still restarts when i try to move an app to the card.
I don't know if it's significant but i noticed that: I went in cwm and tried to mount sd-ext and I always got an error. Tried to format it again error.

do not perform any activity in cwm regarding sdcard it is not compatible, even format sd ext it will give you a result of damage sdcard for some rom or your current, resulting to reformat your sdcard, now backup all your files to pc,reformat your sdcard through your phone, unmount sdcard t then erased sdcard, then back your files...Hope it help...
Go to advanced in cwm and go to fix permissions. See what that does for you.

Guys thanks for all the replies. Nothing seems to be working though, phone keeps rebooting. Might just be a faulty sd card, but that would be the second in the row.
Yes I know, it's another internal memory thread.. but I can't post on the original post about the JB ROM I use without 10 posts so I hope someone can help me here...
I'm using this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951086&page=50
It's the only ROM I've found till now that makes my very battered Ace actually run smooth (it was in a car accident.)
What I've done till now to increase internal memory:
- Used the CWM Recovery Mode to format an Ext on my SD Card
- used MiniTool Recovery Wizard to format an Ext on my SD Card, used Ext2/3 and 4
- Tried to flash the CronMod Int2Ext+ zip, but it's getting stuck halfway through
None of these methods helped any :/ is there a way to increase memory or am I stuck with 3-4 apps before it says "nope"?

?
You are using int2ext+ in a stock rom = Stability and NO problems
...
Let's start again.
Did you create a sd-ext partition? which format is it (fat,ext2/3/4?
How did you do it? Using mini partition tools is a piece of cake
How did you flash the script?

Uh no.. as I wrote in the original post
int2ext did not work, it's getting stuck halfway through
I created an sd-ext partition using both the CWM Recovery, then MiniTools Partition Wizard, after every try I deleted, formatted and reassigned the SD card back to its original state. I tried Ext2 Ext3 and Ext4.

I thought I answered everything XD but maybe you mean as to why I'm not using the stock rom and decided on a flashed rom?
Simply put because it lagged like hell, the mobile was in a car accident, ever since then the stock rom had nothing but problems, couldn't run any entertaining app without it crashing or lagging
So I decided to get a copy of the stock rom and format everything, then flash the stock rom back on it. It worked, the stock rom loaded, but the lag came back pretty quickly.
Then I went on to search for a rom that wouldn't lag, after a few dozen of failed attempts I used this one by pure coincidence and it works for me, it does not lag, it doesn't crash. Some games lag if I play them too long, but music and video runs perfectly.
But the internal memory was still an issue, I managed to get 1024MB of internal memory on another semi-stable rom a few weeks back using the CWM Recovery tool for creating an ext3 partition. This does not work anymore on this rom, I also tried to get ext2/3 and 4 with MiniTools PArtition Wizard on the card but the internal memory stays the same.
When I tried to flash Int2Ext+ inside the recovery it just stops at a halfway point and shows "4ext: disable_scrn_update" and stays there forever, the little yellow bar in the background moves to around half, then stops there. I waited 30 minutes but no change, then I restarted the phone and there is no change to internal memory.
That is the whole story

LOL!! I was meaning "how to do things"
How did you flash the script? It isn't answered yet
....
Btw let's start
1. Backup your current data
2. Reflash the rom
3. Flashing the script:
>>> mount data
>>> mount system
>>> mount sd-ext
>>> format SD-EXT (YOUR EXTERNAL PARTITION, NOT YOUR SD!)
4. Flash the script!
AFAIK int2ext+ script works with ext2/3 and ext4 partition (so It is the best to avoid troubles, or simply use int2ext4+ [only works with ext4 partition] )
5. The script should work fine, JB Rev rom use BE kernel, so you won't get any trouble
But I said that already :/
I restart my phone into CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.6
I mounted and formatted everything you just said multiple times
then I go into "install zip from sdcard" -> "chose zip from sd card" -> CronMod - Int3extv2+ / Int2ext4+
then it disables the screen update and installs in the background but stops at around half and doesn't budge for hours until I remove the battery and force a restart.

If THE STEPS I POSTED DOESN'T WORK...
Extract the script and paste it in /system/etc/init.d folder and set the permissions
Code:
x - x - o
x - o - o
x - o - o
The reboot your phone
It should work too!
Hey so my phone fell off this morning and i thought everything was alright, then i restarted it and it would only access to the CWM 6.0.4.7 recovery mode, i've been trying all things, wipes, when i hit wipe data/factory reset, it resets at the middle of the process, if i try to backup/reinstall rom from the external sdcard it fails giving me an "Status 0" error, i can only assume this is happening because of the fall...
What can i do?
Please help, really desperated
Someone please help? it's very needed and i'm in a hurry

Maybe the internal SD card broke because of the fall.
If that's the case then the only thing you can do is to install a ROM in the external SD card.

So... if that was the case, how can i fix the internal SD? Or how can i install the ROM in the external SD?
Also, the recovery menu only apperas if i have my external SD inside, if i get it out, the cellphone just gets to the Samsung Galaxy S screen...

Okay guys im reading but i really don't understand, i'm a completey ignorant in this topic, i don't want to screw this but i really don't understand anything...
Can someone help me? After spending the whole night reading i finally did it and i restored my phone back to the stock rom installing it in my external SD, i made two partitions, one of 10gb in fat 32 and the another one 4gb ext3 (used this for the system), but now i can't use the camera because the "usb storage is connected" and the external sd cannot be mounted...
why is this happening? please help!
desperated bump
Also, i have some backups made with the CWM recovery but i really can't advance if i don't have the sd...
Read this.
You tried flashing Stock? If that doesn't work, take the device to a Samsung Service Center.

I installed stock rom on external sd, then did this and i was and it worked, then updated to 2.3.6 and flashed CWM Recovery, after that i updated to 10.2 CM and then to 11, then i used NeatKernel for Kitkat and swtiched the external to internal and my phone is fully working now.
Thank you very much guys
