Hi all!
Since ICS i have choppy audio via bluetooth. I've tried from flashing different kernels/roms to fullwipes. It works on GB based roms (i've downgraded a couple of times to check).
The thing is... i like ICS and JB, but this issue is like a rock in my shoe
I bought this headphones in Deal Extreme. The headphones model is the t909s. These works on other phones, so this doesn't seem to be the problem.
Does anyone know something about it? someone has the same issue?
i am using a Jabra stree2 headset and on Stock ICS 4.0.4 and works very well.. no issue what so ever
I am having the same issue - Samsung Galaxy Note.
When I was on gingerbread 2.3, I had no issue with streaming audio via bluetooth - smooth and crisp.
When I updated to ICS 4.0.4 OTA, I noticed my bluetooth audio would lag and skip which caused the audio to be choppy
Things i have noted:
-Bluetooth audio: Skip/lag/choppy on certain tracks (i read from other forums that this is due to 320kb)
-Aux audio (bluetooth turned off): As good as it was on Gingerbread 2.3 - clear smooth audio
-Aux audio (bluetooth turned on, but not connected): Audio began to skip and was chopping even though it was plugged in directly. **INTERESTING**
So it would seem that turning on the bluetooth signal itself causes the audio to lag......
I am having the same issue....exactly d same prob i am facing...

When I play music with headphones on it comes through the headphones + the speaker on the phone..
I assume something is wrong, Ive tried two different sets of headphones and same results, made sure its pushed in all the way etc....
is my phone faulty? or I am doing something dumb?
cheers
the same happens with bluetooth, but it is only for MEDIA sounds
the actual phone call will get only routed to the bluetooth headset/car
i think it's a bug in the software, that it forgets to turn off the phone speaker when something else is connected
Are you running froyo beta?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
No, why? is it fixed in froyo?
It is a pretty nasty bug... can't listen to music quietly anywhere..
Huh? It's fine here..
Which firmware are you using.. Maybe something is corrupt..
I'm using xfjm5, anyone else see this issue or should i say hear this issue?
@allgamer, do you get this with headphones too? or just with bluetooth?
Btw, are you using VOIP.. Because voip might cause issues (as well as some other programs, or sound quality hacks).
Is that JG5 version a pre-release or official release?
I'm using JM5 atm and I don't have that issue with the headphones or the bluetooth stereo headset. I only seem to have that problem when I'm using the bluetooth headset and the Copilot nav. The instructions from the nav come through both headset and speaker
From my Galaxy S loonie-phone
I have the same problem. But it used to work fine. My phone has frozen while I tried to connect my bluetooth car kit (parrot mki 9200) and I had to perform a factory reset. Since this time, Media sounds plays through the speaker and the bluetooth headset at the same time.
My firmware version is : I9000XXJG1
I hope it will be fixed in the final froyo firmware.

yeap, exactly the same
and i'm on JH2
I don't the issue. It should not happen.

I think its a bug in firmware, I had it happen a few times when I receive call while listening to music, After call the music plays on speaker even with headphones on. I just unplug head phones and plug it back in and it goes away. Havn't had it happen since I moved to JM8 from I think JM1
My N1's a year old, and recently it's developed an issue where A2DP stereo headsets stutter profusely with any sort of music, even when I'm right next to the device.
My headset and car audio pair fine with both my N1 and my Desire, but the N1 stutters like hell even in close range, whereas the Desire works freely throughout a room or the car.
I'm using CM7 and even switched to CM6 to test after numerous people reported it's a new BT stack in 2.3.3 that's causing the issue, but the problem still thrives.
Any suggestions on what to do?
Even flashed back to a stock EPE54B unrooted image. Same problem.
Radio issues, perhaps?
Hey all,
I'm kinda confused cauz I read various postings. Anyone of the pro's here can tell me if BluetoothAudio and camera/video work 100% on CM7 ? I know it won't on CM9, but how about CM7 ?
I am looking for a custom ROM to install on my Droid3 which support my camera/video as well as BT Audio, cause I'm listening lots of music inside my car.
This is the second topic you've made a post in development that had NOTHING to do with developing. General is the place for all posts that are not about releases, ports, etc. I assure you that people read General and that your question would be answered there.
To answer your question, CM7 is quite stable. I have not done extensive bluetooth testing, but camera works perfectly if you download a software camera such as cam360 or Camera Zoom FX.

The camera works on CM9 just not the video camera because of no hardware codecs yet. As far as BT goes I think they got most of it ironed out for CM9.
As far as I know, the Bluetooth works just fine while you're using it. The problem occurs when it's turned on but not in use, the audio to other things, such as calls and ringtones doesn't work. I've used a bluetooth headset with it many times and never had any issues with the actual bt functionality.
Guys he said cm7

Last I saw, CM7 camera/video and bluetooth had the same issues as CM9. Hashcode was the only one I know of that did work on CM7 for D3 as well and he stopped development for that to work on CM9. So the CM7 camera does not work (correct me if I'm wrong), video definitely not. But bluetooth should work.

CM7 camera and video definitely works 100%. One just needs a software camera like cam360 or Camera Zoom FX
Hello again,
just wanted to add as feedback, that I flashed CM9 solana and Camera works with CameraFX Pro App, as well as Bluetooth Audio in my car. I can listen to my music which is played on my Droid3 through car audio. I also can make phone calls through Bluetooth audio in my car with no quality issues. Great! Video does not work as known for CM9 due to missing hw codecs.

So you're saying the Bluetooth works but what about the issue when it is on and not connected? I leave it on all the time since I use it in the car, but not anywhere else. Does the sound still die on that release when on and not connected?
thats right.I have to add that I had experience another issue.Bluetooth Audio for listening to my Music from my Droid3 in my car works great. But I have very bad phone call quality while using it via BT connected to my car.Sometimes it works, sometimes not.Even clean rebot and fresh BT reconnect to my car didnt help.I dunno how to reproduce this issue.Seems that theres reallly BT bugs active

EDIT: I've switched to Maverick 4.0 as BT is essential for me. Now I have BT audio and a working video cam, too. I can say, I really like Mav 4.0, looks good till now. Hope I will keep satisfied.. we'll see
Stuttering and skipping streaming are very known issues on many jelly bean devices.
The most times when I listen to music in my car, i do this via bluetooth. So it is really annoying me and some day, I will have an accident, while I am fumbling with my HTC One.
I replaced the audio.a2dp.default.so with one of the Nexus 4 (4.2.2) and it just worked well, but only the first time using bluetooth streaming after rebooting the device.
I changed some settings in audio.conf and it still stutters.
But then, i deactived wifi while the device was streaming and all stuttering and skipping was gone.
So... can someone just confirm, whether the a2dp streaming works correctly, when wifi is deactived?
I want to know, whether this is the only point to get this work and I don't want to change my working mess
is nobody interested in this?
I posted this bluetooth issue a while back on this forum, and the issue is corrected by switching off WIFI while using BT. Apparently the new update which is due soon fixes the issue but only one user has confirmed that so far.
Since I use bluetooth streaming on the car mainly, I use Tasker so that when Bluetooth connects, it automatically switches WIFI off (don't need WIFI while driving and saves battery), and when it disconnects it switches it back on. This way the phone just works seamlessly.
Just turning the wifi off and back on again when I connect bluetooth seems to solve this issue for me.
i can confirm - turning wifi on/off fixes it as well for me (until next time I go bluetooth)
I discovered this a couple of weeks ago too. I was about to send it back too. Cant live without podcasts and audible in the car!
I have the problem that i cant even here any sound on my HTC CAR A100 Car Stereo Clip, even if wlan is deactivated With my old sensation everything is okey..

I wonder if this also improves the bitpool value. I'm noticing on my HTC One that bluetooth streaming quality is not very good. From what I've read it has to do with a bitpool value that it set too low, increasing this value is supposed to increase the streaming quality. Highs sound distorted on my phone over BT I can't believe Google/HTC have not addressed this issue.
I have not been able to solve the bluetooth audio streaming issue by turning off WiFi for my car. It works perfectly fine with my Jambox even with WiFi turned on, but in the car, it does not work either way and I'm using software version 1.29.401.13

I'm running 1.29.401.13 too and it looks like it is working nearly perfect for now. I can remember only one time, when it stopped for a second. Mabye the car radio is facing similar problems? Did you try to update the firmware or whatever of you car radio?

I've tried researching how to update the firmware of my car's bluetooth, but have had zero luck there as well. It's a 2009 Acura TSX.

Did you manage to fix the problem with the A100 as mine is exactly the same, works fine on my Sensation but no the HTC One.
have the same problem:
If wifi is ON and bluetooth is ON, eg at streaming youtube over the bluetooth headset, it stutters and has distortions.
If wifi is OFF and stream a video from the sdcard over bluetooth all is fine.
what i find out:
I use the JellyBean from Quarkx for defy.
The build from 7.3.2013 worked
All later builds, with the new wifi driver had this problem.
But its a known bug that JellyBean has a2dp issues, i guess.
This trick, to change audio.a2dp doesnt helped me
I didn't noticed any problem with my phone even when the wifi ON, I'm using the latest radio "4A.16.3250.24_10.38.1150.03L" found in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245615
I don't know if it can help..
Since a few months I've been using a bluetooth audiobox for audio-playback. Without any problem.
With the recent Marshmellow stock update a stuttering occurs when the phone is doing anything else besides playing music. This stuttering occurs on the small bluetooth JBL box as well as a Plantronics headset.
What can be the issue causing the stuttering?
I've turn off as much processes I can find, but to no avail. I hope there is a simple solution.
I'm using the stock rom, rooted and the xposed framework is installed.
