no jbueno, i am a real dev. I just decided to get an account today because i wanted to start sharing my roms. I just started to dev. I have heard about rr102394 or whatever and droid hacker, and i can tell you, they/he is no good! Im not posting bl3d3 or whatever nonsense that guy is or wants to post.
i am a seroius dev. I dont want to be accused to be what i am not- a jake day clone. I POST LINKS TO ROMS!!!!

Any details on what this rom is like???

i was going to write the same thing, did you check his ip? I just figured i'd give him the benifit of the doubt b/c u can't post links and only in 5 minute intervals when a junior member.

ok real dev.... why no changelog or details about your rom? odexed? de-odexed? what firmware version is it based on, or did you build from source? added apps?
please provide some details.

Thats cause we know its you. your rom is missing some parts huh? you should at least tell people that it must be flashed over sense and warn them to make a nandroid first.

Did the first two, which have worked for all the other roms. Not gonna try again until i see some more information. For now I'll stick with my nexus one vanilla. Best rom so far.

except for the boot.img in your zip... i'm guessing thats the stock inc kernel? what exactly did you change? Why isn't this a full rom? You're missing all the usual links to the usual tools as well as superuser.apk

[FROYO IS HERE!!] I DID IT!! Just need some expert help.. Really mean expert!!

Managed to compile a REAL FroYo Rom for the Legend based on the Android SDK.
It boots nicely... There is a BUT... The touchscreen is not recieving any input.. I can move around with the trackball... Need a programmer to make sure the trackball is working..
Anyone up for the challenge??????

Don't know yet.. Touchscreen not working, so can't test so much yet...!

ooooh exciting! I brought a Legend last thursday but it still has not turned up in the post yet, cant wait to test this rom out when i get it

So this is a standard-froyo without all the extra crap (Like HTC puts in there, sense and such)?

OK I agree, We can look others device thread, like HERO at the first time it launch, they work together to develops it, and we can work on Legend together and write all improvement here and submit the fix file here for all cheft and users, no secret tweak or step or fix. Open it for everyone. Remember we are a minor user of Android here, and if we are not work together, the development will go slow.
As I follow in GENE and OPAL forum, they do like it, and now, there are a lot of ROM there. the target is to make compatible FROYO for Legend without bug, and I say "YES WE CAN"

Great stuff, I wish I could help test, but I have not rooted just yet.

[Q] Installing themes on the Captivate

If this has been asked more than once, I apologize!
I got this phone couple days ago and I stumbled upon this forum to notice many different themes. I was wondering how you change it from the original Captivate theme to the themes the makers made here. Thanks

Are you rooted? Do you have a certain rom? Because you cant get a theme from developers until your rooted and have a Rom that the theme is for?

I am rooted (I think since I searched it up and did what the person told me) as for ROM, I'm not quite sure if I do.

Here's an easy way to see if your rooted, go into your apps and see if you have an app called superuser. If you do, then you are rooted but if not then you are not. As for the rom I'm not sure as to what rom you have I'm not sure.

Read this guide over, it will explain how to install a custom rom, which is basically ( in very simplified terms) just a new very advanced theme that replaces the old stock one that comes with the phone. That link can tell you everything you need to know. Just be REALLY careful! the first time I tried to install a new rom my phone got messed up and i couldn't use it for three days. But anyways, have fun and welcome to the site!

I suggest Phoenix as your ROM. Its very simple to use and has good speed and good battery life. It's the first rom I had .
Here's the link http://www.phoenix-hq.com/ to the site with the downloads from everything from the Rom to Themes for the Rom to wallpapers.

(ROM)carbon ROM 4.4 vs980

Looks like the thread for the carbon ROM for the Verizon lg g2 was deleted..
Luckily I saved a copy in the cloud.. I'll post a link but keep in mind this is just a copy of what was out there already. I have had nothing to do with the dev of this ROM so please don't give me any credit for it.

Here is a 1/24 build. This should boot, but make sure you back up your old rom just in case. If it doesn't boot, then turn your phone off my holding the power button. Then hold both the power and volume buttons down until the LG Logo flashes, then let go and press both again until you see the factory reset screen. Once you are there, press the power button 3 times and it will take you to your recovery. Cheers

I probably owe you guys more of a response than I left you with.
I am a college student in my last year of classes, and the workload is pretty heavy even at the start of the semester.
I messaged the mod asking for the thread to be deleted because I didn't want to cause Carbon any bad names because my build wasn't booting.
Long story short I will still be supporting Carbon for the vs980 until the official builds come out. Be looking for that in the next couple of days, possibly even tonight if I can find time.

Lol well there's another carbon thread in the orig dev forum that supports every g2 model besides Verizon.. I was just putting this up till he added the vs980.. Which I'm not sure if you and that other thread have anything to do with each other?

I'm not too sure... I had this ROM running for a few days with no problems.. Back up what you got and give it a try and let me know..I'll update op if you let me know something.. I am just trying to provide a ROM that went missing.. I myself am running mahdi ROM at current

I'm a big fan of your ROM as a college student as well I understand school is most important. I tried to find a substitute for your ROM and slimkat was the closest I could find. Hope you can work on it again but if not I understand.

look your making it harder than it has to be .. if you flashed one rom you can flash any rom
you just hook your phone to the mac and copy the stock rom to your phones SDCARD and install it from recovery ... this simple stuff
