just download the lrq firmware from samfirmware.com or here and install it via odin. u will loose root but again Philz to the rescue
ok thanks
which one is the latest tho
LRQ or LRT?
i assume the method to flash is the same right?
LRT is the latest. yes
also... use thanks button instead of thanks (written)
just want to make sure... do i have to flash GB on odin first, wipe everything then flash LRT on odin? or i can just flash LRT with odin straight away?
u can flash the lrt straight away. It's a non wipe rom so all ur apps and data will be oreserved

GB kernels are already safe, you can either use CF root kernel or Abyss kernel to install cwm and to flash custom roms.

I took a look at the cf root kernel post and there were so many to choose from and none of them had the same three letters as my build which is xxla6 / xxla4
I'd guess it's safe to assume of you choose the wrong one then you will brick your phone?

Your kernel should be LA6. since you are already rooted so you can also use CF-Root-SGN_XX_SER_LA6-v5.0-CWM5, just run the already rooted mod and flash the kernel.
You can also try Abyss kernel.

Hello everyone, i've been searching and have found some information but i'm a bit worried with all the unsafe kernels talk so please bear with me if i ask something obvious or that has been asked before.
I flashed my phone to the Open Germany stock ICS release a few months back and then rooted it, but now i want to flash a JB rom and i see you have to go back to GB first.
What im using right now:
Android version: 4.03
Baseband version: N7000XXLPT
Kernel Version:
3.0.15-N7000XXLPY-CL474507
[email protected] #3
SMP PREEMPT Fri May 4 04:49:06 KST 2012
Build number: IML74K.XXLPY
But im still a bit confused.
Anything in particular i need to watch out for or do i just flash stock GB using PC Oding to the note?
To what version of GB should i downgrade?
Thanks in advance.
Its not required to flash gb rom to get jb
You need to be on safe kernel to flash jb rom
So now you are on ics, then flash a safe kernel like philz or hydracore and then you can flash jb rom

Search for lpy kernel here
Download and flash it
And then you can flash jb rom

Thank you very much!
I went ahead and flashed the PhilZ-cwm6-XXLPY-XEN-v2.7.zip file, now i have the very pretty CWM recovery but my kernel info in Settings / About Phone is the same as my first post. Is that normal?

Yes its normal because philz is a stock kernel with emmc bug disabled
You can now flash the jb rom through cwm

Hey guys,
I've searched for a while now, but can't find a specific way to do this.
I want to flash my n7000 back to the latest stock rom from samsung. And since i rather not brick it.. am i searching for the best way.
Can i do this simply via Samsung KIES, or do i need to flash another kernel/rom first?
I am running 240dpi mod V2 rom ( N7000xxlsc)
And kernelversion says; 3.0.31 -593490 , [email protected] #3, SMP PREEMPT nov 2012
I don't care about a new kernel, i just want the latest stock rom since am tired of searching a rom that works better than stock for me.
:good:

I've got phillz safe kernel.
Can i just flash via phillz cwm instead of Odin? Would be alot easier :good:
You can't flash the .tar stock ROM files via CWM recovery. Maybe use Mobile ODIN PRO if u want, PC ODIN advised though.
Very useful thanks!

You can't root that ROM. Flash the 9.1.a.1.141 ftf, then root it and install recovery. Then you can install a pre-rooted 9.1.a.1.145 zip file in recovery.
