I just rooted the new ota .246 and I want to stay stock rooted but get rid of the bloat and what not. Is there a list or can aome one tell me what can and cannot be deleted/frozen without causing problems?
Thanks

Don't know if it causes problems but I disabled the following (via the stock Manage Apps settings).
Apps
City ID
MOG Music
Slacker Radio
Sling Box
V Cast Tones
VZ Navigator
More are likely candidates but that is where I started off...
Thanks for the reply

I am in the process of trying to figure out what apps exactly can be frozen or deleted without causing force close errors. Please if anyone figures a complete list before I get one posted please, post it.

I have frozen the car dock with no ill affects.

I froze all the vzw apps, amazon, blockbuster lets golf and anything with authenticator behind it. Also all the dock mode ones, there are 4 or 5 of those. So far so good.

From the AC Forums. Check out the post almost to the bottom of the first page.

I've only ever used Titanium for backups, can anyone tell me what freezing an app does? Does it just lock it out of running completely? And does it remove it from the app drawer?

Yes and yes
Has anyone else been using XDA Premium and go to fire it up with the shortcut and saying application doesn't exist?
This has randomly uninstalled two times on me while the phone was just idle. Then I have to go re-download it from the market. Any hints to what could be causing it?
I'm rooted and debloated via TBH Bionic Toolbox.

I had some weirdness with the xda app as well - the icon from one ofnmy home screens was a generic icon, while the one in my app drawer was the correct xda icon. After I rebooted while I was installing the extended battery it came back. No clue why
The app itself was fine, just the icon was missing.

Same happened to me. Shortcut stayed on the home screen but app wasn't installed anymore.
Go into manage apps and move app into phone should be ok then its a bug

Right on, thanks!
It's not just XDA. Other apps also randomly disappear.
Could I get a favor, and have someone post the stock facebook app? Somewhere along the line lost it and can't find it anywhere...the other facebook apps don't allow me to sync contacts.
Thanks.
Yes I need this too

If all that you are concerned about are the contact sync I believe the free version of Friendcaster will do it.

Market version won't do this?
I have tried market version, friendcaster ....none of them give me the option if syncing contacts....I confused...

Syncing facebook contacts is blocked by an app or something moto put in the phone. The only way to sync them is to use moto's version and accept their ridiculous terms and conditions. I think droidth3ory said he was working on a fix.
Right, could anyone post the moto's version...I've lost mine somewhere between root, debloat and th3ory's rom...thanks.

I'm rooted, but running stock I get constant force closes when I select any contacts anywhere in my bionic. Any ideas?

process com.motorola.contacts
This its what forces close.. Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks!

I was just about to say that lol. My friend had the same problem yesterday but on a different phone. The leaked GoogleMusic app is build around processes for ICS and won't work right on GB/HC.
Is anybody else having a problem where the My Music app cannot see any music? I have tried a folder called Music on both the SDCARD and the SDCARD-EXT but it still cannot see the music.

Did you freeze any of the motocast stuff? I had done that and was having the same problem as you, but when I unfroze some stuff it worked again.

I sure have. I am on 2233 and the only time I came accross this was when using liquid smooth rom. I posted a thread but had no responses or help. I flashed aokp nightly and the problem has been fixed. I believe it was the rom I was running.

That was it! I had a couple of motocast apps that I had frozen. When I defrosted them, the My Music app now sees my library.
