At PC World / Currys in Cardiff for £199 so they are out there.
BTW they had no 16GB in stock.
Wow, I just bought mine few days ago at PC World for £189.

has anyone tried using the toolkit to root the 32gb yet?
Wow, just did my round at the locals (Argos, Comet, Tesco and Carphone Warehouse) with no luck. Currys/PC World is a little further so I didn't go but I would have made the trip had I seen your thread before. Don't have enough time now as I'm off to work but I'll try to head down tomorrow. Thanks for letting us know.

I'm now in Nottingham. I hope I can find it.
32gb sales are officially embargoed till after the Google press event on Monday.
You might get lucky and find a store that's slips up and sells before then but you might as well wait till Monday after 4pm when you can order online from a variety of retailers or get one from store. Unlike the 16gb launch there will be no shortage this time.

Live in Newport, but was shopping in Cardiff and just asked on the off chance - they only had a 16gb on display (but it turns out none in stock to sell) and only the 32gb there. Asked for it, checked it was a 32gb and left a happer camper lol
By the way the Serial Number on the 32GB N7 starts with CA0K
I understood the 16gb Models started with C70 or C90.
I've no idea what significance this has (if any).
The screen build quality is perfect with no lift.
That's awesome. Tomorrow I'm going to swing by Curry's, PC World and Argos. I'm not expecting Tesco to sell it.

I'm from the area myself (well the valleys area) so I am tempted to pop down and have a look around. Trouble is if they are there I know I am going to leave with one, and I'd convinced myself I was going to wait and see what the price premium/availability was on the 3g model was first..
I checked a couple of PC Worlds and a Dixons today. No units of any size on display and none in any branches near in stock.
I sent them off to the store room and they came back with a guilty look on their faces, when they say, they have none in stock!:crying:
Bet they do
In poland still only 16GB

Are those 32 gb models also a 3g or they are simply same devices, bit with more storage on it?

We all have seen the news that a 32GB is coming and will be around for the holiday season, my brother works at Best Buy here in Canada and his inventory shows a 32GB as coming soon for $269 CAD so its defiantly coming.
Just wonder how many of you will hold off on the 16 now that the 32 will be out soon.

I don't think you'll get any "Yes I'll hold off" answers in this forum, as most of the people are here because they have a Nexus7
Would have liked a 32 GB but with OTG don't think its terribly necessary.
Since N7 isn't selling in my country (Brasil) i will have only 1 shot when a friend of mine visit NY next week. But i dont think 32GB will be available till desember.

After 3 failed RMAs from Google Play, I got a refund and just picked up a new Nexus 7 from Walmart last Friday. I'm thinking about returning my Nexus 7 16GB and waiting on the 32GB model.
Haven't decided, but will need to in the next few days.

Don't you know this by now, Ravynmagi... what works for 1 person works for everyone. Duh.
I however am doing just fine with 16GB for the most part. The biggest space issue I have is when I go on long trips (which is rare, but happens) and want to watch TV shows or movies to burn up the plane time. Fun fact - even with 64GB of space I'd run into the same issues. It's significantly easier for me to have a 500GB external (which has about 400GB worth of media) that I can pop in, copy media, disconnect, and be done with it. I'd likely use OTG in these situations regardless of what sized tablet I had. That said, these situations are rare, and 16GB is more than enough for me on the regular day to day.
I will say this. I find cloud services significantly easier to manage because everything is in one location. For me, Subsonic is such a win for music/videos because I host it out of my basement and I own the server, the material, etc. I handle it my way.
One centralized box for everything, especially on my own very LAN, is such a :good::good::good::good::good:. Couple that with the fact the same server is running "owncloud" (think Dropbox but on your own server) is yet another :good::good::good::good::good:.
But there again, just my 2c.
Are external storage (2,5“ HD) working with otg?

it may not be official but we know its coming and the fact my brothers bestbuy inventory shows it plus other stores with a price tag but no date means its coming. I'm sure it will be released for the holiday season, stupid if they don't.
I have a 16GB S3 and i can tell you that is not enough and had to buy a 32GB microSD. I don't like the whole cloud storage thing what if i'm on the go an have no internet access. OTG is fine but its not very portable. I mean if we had a proper micro usb to micro sd then 16GB would be fine, hopefully the kickstart project in the OTG thread kicks off.

Apparently we who preordered the nexus 7 early got bamboozled (lol) , the 8gb will be discontinued and the 16gb will take its place at $199. While the 32gb will replace the 16gb.

You bought the product because were happy with the price and gear being offered.
The Nexus 7 is a damn good deal any way you look at it. $50 extra to have this thing for 2-3 months which would have otherwise been spent dreaming of purchasing one and browsing sites for the best deals all day?
I'm happy with my purchase still. I feel bad for anyone who got an 8gb though.

It's something I'll have to get over but I technically haven't even paid for it yet since the bill isn't due lol. So.. yeah, in that case I'm a little annoyed.

I knew that a that better / cheaper SKU would show up, didn't expect it before Christmas TBH, but I don't care I wanted to experience stock Jelly Bean asap. I've ordered a usb-otg cable and tasty 32 GB USB 3.0 pendrive, which has the benefit of being used over multiple devices.
I'm not really mad I'm just disappointed in Google's marketing. Not a lot of people buy into the nexus brand and Its really not nice to do what they are going to do but since I love this device so much I'm not going to get mad, I'm just going to right them a nice message of what I think about this on October 29th.
Now I'm thinking if I should buy the nexus 4 when they release it or wait.
I'm wondering if people sending in 8gb sets for RMA would get a 16gb back.
Will the next nexus have a longer screen?
I've had mine for about a week and love it. I have a 30 day return policy, if my store got them by Oct 29, wonder if they would let me return it?

I guess you can still call it a rumor. But the 32GB is obviously real at $250 and the 16GB isn't going away, so it'll almost certainly drop to $200. There isn't room for an 8GB model.
I think it's just common sense at this point that the 8GB model is about to get clearanced at the end of the month.

From a business stand point, they are going to sell the 8GB at 199 till it's out of stock, then push the 16gb down to 199 and throw in the 32gb at 250.

2-3 months? That's perhaps true if you're in the US, where it's been released first - not counting some later adopters who didn't get it from day 1. That's not true anymore in some other countries, where it's been out for quite less than 2 months.

Guess what? In those countries where it's been released more recently, the credit is still active... and thus I'd bet the early 32GB buyers will still get it.
So, yes, it IS bad, when there's a 32GB model scheduled for the same price as your 16GB unit, 45 days (since there are obviously numerous leaks) after it's been available in your country.

I have to agree. The people that have had there's for 31-45 days get screwed the hardest. They're just outside the return/refund window and have had so little time with there's to really enjoy it before a price drop and a higher capacity model for the same damn price is released...
I'm one of those people and I'm pretty miffed... I'll be very caution and wait 2-3 months after every new Nexus release or simply not buy from Google at all... we shall see...

Bought the 8 at launch from the Play Store to see if I would like using a tablet. Now I use it all the time. Rely on it. So. Afraid to root it in case I brick it. Want root for Stickmount. 32G means I can have a load of storage and root my 8 with no fear. Cool. Also, its easy to forget just how low cost these devices really are. I think the 32 is a response to the ongoing criticism of the non expandable storage capacity. I like that they listened.

A UK based catalouge retailer called Argos has published it's Christmas supplement with the 32GB being £199.99
Now they have stopped the Play Store credit and freebies, along with great economies of scale, maybe the 8 GB will get a price cut to undermine the cheapest Kindle Fire?

It is/was. Staples near me still has some in stock but they are 199.99
I sold my 8GB yesterday for $175. Barely ahead of today's announcements. I paid $150 with magnetic case for it on Craig's List. Putting it aside for the Nexus 10. N7 was too small for my eyesight to read comfortably. So I guess my suggestion would be to also check out alternate sources as I did.
It originally wasn't supposed to be sold in stores because going the retail route on the 8gb would end up costing them money since the unit was sold so cheap. The 8gb started showing up when the 16gb models couldn't stay stocked, which was a last ditch effort from Google/Asus to keep the supply flowing.
So there ARE 8gb models in the wild and ARE discontinued. I would think that Staples and a select other few would have them discounted. Walmart only had 16gb when I went there last. Craigslist and other 2nd hand sites are likely to be experiencing a rush of 8gb and 16gb models because they are trading for the 32gb.
8GB should be 150$
I'm sad that the 8GB model has been discontinued.. I just bought it the first of this month back when none of this news wasn't around..
I don't wanna go through the process of selling this and getting the 16gb.

Every place I checked was sold out of the 8GB units over a month ago, and it was even difficult to track down unopened 16GB models. Everyone in the distribution chain knew about the product shuffling.
The ones you are likely to find now are customer returns, and there will be few that fall within the common 14 or 30 day return window.
Have the screen separation issues been completely resolved? I have a launch 8gb that I want to get replaced. I'm not trying to get a 16gb out of this and I'm hoping if I go through the process now, they won't give me hassle, accusing me of trying to upgrade.
just actually posted my Nex 7 8gb on Craigslist yesterday. we don't use it since we have the ipad.
listing at $150 but taking $125 if i get it. Hate losing $75 so quickly, but that's tech. look on craigslist.
I doubt they'll sell it cheaper for now. Probably keep it for 199 until supplies settle down and when they only have a few, then probably sell them off on clearance.
People are still idiots with this stuff. If they advertise it for 199 people will come in and buy the 8gb probably without looking. Kinda dishonest but companies always do this crap.

I got an 8GB a while back. I don't really need much more storage than that. The music goes on the phone and I hardly keep big games on it.

This thread is a place for New Zealand Nexus 4 owners, or wanna-be owners to discuss/report/speculate on, or just chat about our phones.
I've compiled a list of options showing where/how we can purchase the Nexus 4 in New Zealand...
Expert Infotech (Updated 15/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $548.06 NZD
http://einfo.co.nz/shop/lg-nexus-e960-16gb-black-special-price-p-27320.html
2degrees Online Shop (Updated 22/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $499 NZD
https://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/sh...t__sorig=/SelectCat.do?catId=21&productId=290
Warehouse Stationary (Updated 15/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $699 NZD
http://www.w[email protected]WSL-B2C
MobiCity NZ (Updated 15/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $678.86NZD
http://www.mobicity.co.nz/lg-nexus-4-16gb.html
Here is the US GooglePlay Option...
Nexus 4 from Google Play USA (Updated 30/1/2013) This option involves using:
A VPN (recommend Tunnelbear), http://www.tunnelbear.com/
A parcel forwarding service in the US - NZ Post have YouShop http://www.nzpost.co.nz/products-services/online-shopping/youshop (It's worth noting that some members here have had a very mediocre experience with YouShop lately - One has even had his phone stolen after arriving in the YouShop warehouse! This is not indicative of everybody's dealings with them, but I would recommend caution with this option. There are plenty of other companies which may give you a better end result).
Setting up your Google Wallet with the YouShop address in the US (or whatever the address is of your Parcel Forwarding company)
I have read that some people have set up entirely new Google Accounts, so that may also help...
Finally you'll need a whole lot of luck - this seems to have worked for a few people, but not others.
16GB Black Nexus 4 (Ships in 1-2 weeks) $349 USD Shipping costs in the US $15 USD Shipping to NZ via Youshop $15 USD GST/DUTY $87 USD Total Cost $465 USD or $567 NZD
8GB Black Nexus 4 (Ships in 1-2 weeks) $299 USD Shipping costs in the US $15 USD Shipping to NZ via Youshop $15 USD GST/DUTY $0 Total Cost $329 USD or $401 NZD
The US Google Play Store is by far and away the cheapest option available, so if you can do this option, I would recommend you give it a go.
Here are some links to the cases and screen protectors I have on my Nexus 4...
Cases:
SF Matte Black - Rearth Ringke SLIM for LG Google Nexus 4 Soft Feeling Premium Hard Case - ECO Package [Revised Version] $9.99 USD Standard Shipping (averages 10-16 business days) $12.00 USD Total Cost $20.99 USD or $26 NZD (I have a white and a black one of these - seem pretty good so far. Light and slim. There's a minor fitment issue with the original batch of these, but the manufacturers have since revised it and they are replacing the defective ones for free)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A81H176/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A8YCUEQIOX5AP
Screen Protectors:
Google Nexus 4 Screen Protector Steinheil Dual $13.99 USD Shipping $5.04 USD Total $19.03 or $23 NZD (I have used SPG for all my phones screen protectors and they have been great. This one for the Nexus 4 has a front and back screen protector)

Good to know I am not the only one suffering. So far it seems you have already reached into most of the options, I also thought about YouPost but the amount of work required not to mention the added costs, I don't think its worth it. I am just hoping that stocks arrive at the parallel imported sites and the price isn't too hefty. I wish us kiwis weren't discriminated by Google, they have a lot of potential customers here in NZ.
Im also waiting impatiently. I guess we just have to wait, New zealand is such a tiny market compared to other countries. Im keeping an eye out for overseas stores that will ship here to get stock

Me too!!! We should hopefully know more about the price from the parallel imported stores in the next week or two. Google is potentilally missing out by not offering us (and other countries) these services (I guess it's us who ultimately miss out though)!. We may not have the biggest market, but we would be loyal! I'd also love to be able to buy my music from the playstore instead of itunes. I already have 4500 songs uploaded to google music in anticipation of having to downgrade storage on my phone from 16GB internal and 64GB external to the 16GB of the nexus 4, but I don't have the new phone to stream it on!

I reckon you would be best to hold out for the nexus 4. If you're willing to wait a little bit longer then it looks like sony might actually be bringing out a flagship model that will compete directly with the iphone 5 and SGS3 while still being very compatible with the custom rom community...that being said, I know I don't want to wait and I'd love to get my hands on a nexus 4 tomorrow!...
Still no update in regards to availability in NZ...any new info to add guys? :banghead:

So I messaged LG and asked when they expected to be selling the device in NZ and the reply was they had no idea when or if they would be selling it here. That leaves this in the hands of parallel importers which will be random and pricey.
Started looking on eBay in US and Aus but it was all getting to hard but then as luck would have it I saw someone listing one on TradeMe for $735 and I just had to have it so I used the buy now lol I think this might end up being a good price for this device I just can't wait to get my hands on it.

Great stuff mate! I had a look there this morning and didn't see anything... otherwise I would have done that myself....
My 2 Nexus 4's just shipped to YouShop. Hopefully they come without any issues.
I think ill end up forking out for a parallel import for the sake of a warrantee

Good stuff. 8 or 16GB models? If you have a spare 16GB and feel like selling, I'd be keen to make an offer

I think that'll be the only way I'll get my hands on one as well. Unless by some miracle they release more on the Aussie play store and i can get my brother to get one in time. I see in the Aussie thread some one reported that the bumpers were available again...I've already got a SGP screen protector on its way... just no phone to put it on right now

Tell me about it. My cousin is on standby to buy this phone for me. Only problem would be if stock runs out again or it doesnt ship to her by the 21 december for the flight back to nz. I will uterly pissed if either of those situations occur. I already gave her the money for it

Any update on if there in any of the stores? Anyone planning on picking one up?
Picked up a customize card at a local AT&T store. They had a white display model out that I played with while it took them 45 minutes to figure out how to ring me up (no joke).
Now I get to wait 11 days for my phone to be shipped. So much from created to in your hands within 4 days!

That's what I'd like to know. That's what MotoMaker quoted me when I ordered. Nothing unusual about my phone best I could tell, but won't be seeing it until after Labor Day.
Anyone successfully pick one up today?
I'm waiting for the store to open.... :_/

Jeeze I hope their not already that far behind! That's why I'm here at opening so don't have to worry about it. On the other hand, maybe I do..... Did you call moto on it? 3 times the wait is on the excessive side...

Doubt there is a line. Are the models in store woven of regular?

Went into the store and got a MotoMaker card for a 32GB (can only get 32GB online, apparantly). my shipping date is:
Est. Delivery Wednesday, 09/04/13*
ugh.
Guess everyone is going the MotoMaker route..
Anyone buying a stock branded MotoX?
Would like to see hands on images....
Talk about short sighted. 16 GB is too small and 32 only available online. No way they're going to be able to meet the shipped to you in 4 days promise. AT&T
Should have stocked the 32 in stores
Went into the store here and they didn't even have it out let alone the sales guy didn't even know it was a new phone. Took them over an hour to figure out how to sell it to me. Went on moto maker told me twelve days to ship. We shall see. Ugh!

I'll update in a bit for me. For those that have ordered where do you guys live? I'm curious to know if it to you geographical issue

Chicago metro area... no AT&T stores have 32GB stock. Only 16GB.
MOTO/AT&T FAIL!

Not really shortsighted on their part. The reason why they don't mass produce the 32gb version is that 16gb is more than enough for most people, and it's easier for them to stock only one and have the few people who want the 32gb to order directly. It just sucks for the few people who end up having to order it.

Me too. I was there for over an hour. On top of it, they screwed up somewhere along the way and now my LTE doesn't work. The good news is, I was only eligible for an exception upgrade, but for some reason I only paid the full upgrade price. So I walked in expecting to pay around $550, but walked out only paying $360. I'll deal with having no LTE for a few days to save that kind of money (they can't get it working again without redoing the whole process, which could put me back at the correct pricing). But yeah, I got the same 12 day ship time. What happened to 4 days????

I understand why they did it (as you state above), but 16gb is NOT enough for most people. 16gb means you get about 10-11gb usable. If you actually use your phone you will run out of space. Thinking 5gb of music (not much), 10 mega pixel pictures, and 1080p videos... I would argue most people will run out of space after 6-8 months. Of course I'm not even mentioning apps and everything else that will take space on the device. Giving 50GB of google drive space is a bull**** answer. I don't always have network connectivity or want to use data (using battery and carrier networks) to get my data. Its a cop out. Google's mindset of putting everything is the cloud is great for the ideal world in the future, but not for now.
/end rant. Like I said, I understand all the reasons why they do it, but I vehemently disagree..

It's about keeping what you need most on the device and then keep the rest in cloud if you it. 11gb is still a lot. I usually carry around about 4gigs of music (500+ songs) too, and my apps don't take up more than another 2gigs. The few gigs that are left is enough to download files and TV shows, and for other normal usage like taking pictures. I have never found myself short on space because I constantly offload my pictures and videos like most people do.

Obviously short sighted if people are complaining about having to go home to pay them money for a 32GB.
