Hi all,
Anyone works with Razr I on Mac OS ?? I don't know how to connect it on massive storage, and I'd like to copy music and images. I have readed some post in Morotola Forum, but they are using "Motocast USB".
I have installed the Motorola Device Manager, and Motocast, but I only can config the wireless mode. In my Mac, Is not appearing the option named "motocast USB".
I have tried other smartphones and, connecting it with USB cable, I can copy and move files without any problem.
I have to do something special? How I can configure Motocast USB ??
My version of Mac OS X is mountain lion. Certanly, ... I had Motorola Razr MAXX and I had no problem with this...
Thanks.
Regards
Hi all,
Android File Transfer resolves the problem to access to files, bot not the syncronizing. Do you know any soft to do this ?? From Motorola ??
Thanks.
Wifi file explorer should bypass the USB connectivity.

I recently tried to extend my partition using the script on the other thread and everything that could went wrong did went wrong. So I ended up resorting to flashing stock miui via fastboot. During the process, I installed a few things because the adb just decided not to recognize my phone halfway through. So I installed minimal adb, miPhone manager(Chinese version) and android sdk. Now that I have xenonhd installed, my pc doesn't seem to be playing nice with my phone.
Problems:
-adb sideload doesn't want to recognize my phone anymore.
-my USB mass storage device recognizes my phone but the storage media doesn't pops up as blank. Meaning I see the mi3 icon on explorer but it shows up as blank when double-clicked.
-my device manager shows up mi3w as unrecognized device.
My question now is. How do I do a clean wipe of drivers on my PC and could someone provide me with a proper set of drivers that I can install.
Thanks guys.

You can uninstall the drivers and then connect your phone again and let the drivers auto install
If you had googled then you would have found how to uninstall the drivers, here is the official Microsoft link

Does anyone know how to mount a usb storage device in lollipop and where the directory would be?
When I connect my usb otg device, the light flashes on the device so I know it acknowledges it but then it doesn't seem to mount. When I go to settings/storage the option to mount is at the bottom but when I tap it, it does nothing. Please help, this is really pissing me off.
Look into an application called StickMount, I'm guessing that's what you're missing.

needs root. why would an extra app be necessary anyway?
Believe it or not, Im pretty sure Android M will be the first release with native support for external storage (playing off memory here, so pinch of salt and all that). Until then, workarounds are unfortunately required. I agree with you though, you'd think it'd be plug-and-play.

my motog was plug and play. thought I tried the motox it worked, but maybe not.

I don't know if your rom supports USB otg, just try with another USB flash drive...it worked for me. You can find the USB directory in /mnt/usbdisk or /storage/usbdisk or /usbdisk

Hello,
I cannot connect with android file transfer for Mac and My Note 5- It says try restarting or reconnecting. ANybody else get it to work? I have it set to MTP and I have restarted; it never works. I chatted with Samsung and they said to install smart switch which will install the drivers, when I did this I got a note saying AFT would likely not work and it did not. So I cannot transfer anything...
Help
thanks,
There is a arrow beside name of device pointing down. Click that and then double click the file. Opens up for you to transfer. Way better than AFT ever was

download and use an app called AirDroid
Sounds promising. Please explain in more detail. Where are you looking to see the name and down arrow? What app do you wind up using?

I have the same exact problem.
Neither T-mobile, nor Google nor Samsung could help. (That wasted hours of cell phone time!) I did get the Software Data Cable app to work with Filezilla, but WiFi xfer is way way too slow, as I needed to xfer 36 Gb of data.
Final solution was to use my wife's Windows PC. Our Note5s mount there as hard drives, giving full and fast access. Why, oh why, can't a Mac do that?!??

Hi,
I got it AFT to work on my MAC. I had to uninstall KIES first, Install AFT and reboot my MAC.
After that I was able to use AFT (MTP on the phone) to transfer files from my device.
Here is my config
Device: SM-N920T
BUILD: N920TUVU2COJ5
OSX: 10.11.1
AFT: 1.0.50.2266
Alternatively you can use ADB from the ADT and pull files via USB... but that is a lot more work
From terminal: adb pull /sdcard/<path to file>/ /path/to download/
Hope that helps someone.
Thanks,
Matt

From what I have experienced, its either Smart Switch or AFT. You have got to choose any one. I kept Samsung Smart Switch... maybe because I was tired of using AFT all these years and wanted a change. And from what I have seen, Mac doesn't need drivers. Its only for Windows.

If it's ok, you can try some other Samsung mobile manager tool. It allows you transfer files from all kinds of Samsung mobile phones to computer for sharing or backup just via USB connecting cord. Hope it works.

Can you give the link to Samsung Mobile Manager Tool? I am not finding anything on Google with that name.
It does not work if Kies or Smart Switch is installed. You need to properly uninstall them first. I use Android File Transfer without a problem.
Hi guys,Android file transfer it doesn't work any more after the upgrade of my Mac to el Capitan. Adb command as well. Someone has any idea how to solve it? Cheers.

Android File Transfer works fine and so does adb. You have to disable something Apple has added to El Capitan that blocked adb from working as it should.
Here is how I installed ADB on El Capitan:
https://github.com/corbindavenport/nexus-tools/wiki/Fix-for-Mac-OS-X-10.11-(El-Capitan)
follow it really carefully!
I will. Cheers!

...theres nothing there at that link.
Yeah, I found a wiki to run at that link. I don't have the brain capacity or patience to follow instructions like that at length. I'm hoping there is an easy fix. It doesn't work on Mavericks either.
AFT has worked flawlessly on both Mavericks and El Capitan for me.
Honestly dont know what I did (aside from flash the latest Cataclysm ROM) and everything is working. I can adb and use Android File Transfer with El Capitan and Marshmallow
Guys, I had almost the same problem. I was using AFP on 5.1.1 with El Capitan, and everything was great. But then the Marshmallow came. And AFP stops working. I only had the "your device is locked" error. I've killed a night to figure it out – the device was charging only, no MTP protocol. So, here is the solution, that may helps to someone of you: you need to enable developer settings, and allow USB debugging. After that, when you have your Nexus connected to Mac, swipe down the notification bar and tap on message "Charging via USB". Then choose "File Transfer (MTP).
Thats it, AFP will works correctly.

Probably because I don't see anything about a Mac on the site you're pimping.
Also a pretty crappy Chinese to English translation with misspellings.

It works on my mac but it lags much. Any alternative to it on mac?
It only works on my Mac with my phone in twrp recovery. Weird. But works well there.
Guys,
I do not see any folders other than DCIM on the PC.
I used the stock cable.
Anyone else facing this issue or is it supposed to be like this?

Are you connected PTP or MTP, sounds like your connected in PTP transfer mode.

Mtp works if driver is installed right check device manager while in mtp mode, if you dont see R1 HD under portable devices, chances are driver not set up, try this
In device manager u will see the driver (probably under portable devices) anyhow it will have an exclamation mark on the device, just double click it to bring up properties windows, click the driver tab, then update driver, choose browse my computer for driver software, then click let me pick from a list.... It should come up with several driver choices, select MTP USB Device, that should do the trick, under device manager you should now see R1 HD in device manager, and the device will now show up in explorer.
