[Q] Problem with screen colors - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. If I change my wallpaper to solid yellow, screen looks like green from angle and screen has also this green/rainbow-ish tint when is white http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1781631 Is this normal or I should ask for replacement?

Colors
Maybe it is because of the Rom, or is it Stock.
If you did't anything with your SGS and so have still guarentee, i would try to go back to the store.

[Q] All Black Everything

So i have been trying to get a black background that is truly black.
everything i have tried has left a slight hue on the background. back 2 black is not supported or i would have tried that.
is there any way to get background to remain off completely and only light the pixels for the icons, clock, notification etc etc. i notice the info bar at the top is darker than my black background and no matter what i cant get the background to go completely black.
my reasoning is if i make the icons into line art, and keep as much of the screen off wherever i can i can stretch battery life even further. it worked wonders on my gs2. But having a slightly glowing background ruins all that.
I'm not sure whether it's supported, but you can try making a monochrome bitmap-file (.bmp) in MsPaint. At least you are sure this way that the black is truly black.
Have you tried using different launchers? Are you sure the hue is not just your icons giving some 'bleeding'?
thanks, i will give that a try.
its the same with go launcher and touchwiz. its actually magnified on the lockscreen showing lots of banding.
Try this pic. I use it on mine and looks black
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium

My first Note did this so I sent it back. My new one does not do it.
still no luck, apps with black backgrounds look fine.
i tried an all black bitmap and that didnt work either.
is there any way to turn background off and just leave it blank? would that give me a pure black background?
like i said i dont think its a hardware problem since the app backgrounds look deep black unlike the wallpaper. i did see something about the note only being 16 bit and that was causing weird display issues due to scaling or something, blah blah.
its using 24bits
thats right, the note is 24 bit and the os operates in 16 bit currently, right? either way i need to find a way to fix it.
I used a plain black GIF. Works fine for the home screen background, but on lock screen it has barely noticeable dark gray lines in it until you touch it and the unlock symbol appears.
here is the one i made
this black is one color 24 bit png on my note it is completely black at any brightness. let me know if it works. 800 x 1280 black correct dpi blackground

or download "no wallpaper" from the market - simple app that just adds a wallpaper that is totally black. Works a treat.
Try an app called COLOURS by Tim Clark

[Q] After install ics my n7000 colors are darker

I donĀ“t know why, few seconds after i boot my n7000 the screen gets a little pink.
All the colors get darker. ease to see on white objects.
I would like to know if someone got the same problems as I.
I will send a picture to show

black color goes crazy

Hello, I noticed that on black videos or pics my black not mixing with grey color very well. I add screenshots to explain about my situation.
I just noticed that pics on PC looks fine. I try to take pics with camera.
It could be Screen BUG? Or ROM? But I had this on SlimBean and JellyBam.
it is there on most of the Note Screens. Could be because how the color is rendered.. there has been talks of resolving this issue but nothing as of now
I read that some apps can help, I tried Filter Your Screen. added new filter with custom colors and it dissapiers. Now pictures and videos looks good, but Black color is not so much BLACK like before. and I need to turn it on that app :/ Its annoying.

Good fix for yellow screen tint on AOSP?

Hello everyone,
Ever since I got my Z1,its screen has had the yellow tint problem, but I didn't think much of it as my Z had the problem too.So I just opened up the white balance in settings, changed some settings and fixed it.
But ever since I have installed LiquidSmooth, my screen has returned to a beautiful shade of poopy-yellow .I tried many apps on the play store and the color control on the kernel but nothing produces satisfactory results.
Is there anyway to get the old white balance app on this rom or any other way to correct the yellow tint?
Plz give me help and suggestions
Thanks,
Bump

[Q] Sony themes, not live anymore?

I have a Z3C and had been having an orange bug droid case with the live blue theme with the wavy lines. I got me a blue bug droid case in today and went to swap the theme color and lost the wavy lines the flow around. Now any color I choose is just a straight color and I cant figure out how to get the live wavy lines back. I've been through all the settings and rebooted twice and nothing. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
On choosing a wallpaper go to Live Wallpapers then choose Xperia. Then on the settings choose what color u want.
Thanks for your input. I've tried that. I used to just go to themes and change color and they'd stay live. Now when I do it exactly like you suggested it just gets rid of the waves completely and just has a solid color. Under themes when you select a color if i choose static wallpaper the waves come back but aren't live. I have no idea what changed. I've been having the phone for a couple months and had swapped theme colors a few times before without any issues.
