Hi guys
My friend has a galaxy note.It fell in water any got dead.He took it to SSC.They checked it and came to know that it fell in water and said that it cant be repaired under warranty
They said that about 5 parts(motherboard, camera lens,....) were damaged and it costs about Rs20000(about 370 USD)
We had another SSC here and said him to try his luck there
So,Is there any way to get it repaired under warranty
What should he say them when they ask what happened??
I think paying Rs20000 for an old note is not a good idea
probably .. leave it for a few days so that all traces of water is gone.. then try ur luck
i have heard that there are sensors for checking water damage..
Thanks for the reply
But it actually fell in water about a week ago and he took it to the service center yesterday
Still they were able to trace it
If its not a salt water then we have 80% possible to work the device. Keep the device in rice bag without battery for a week

Probably it wont work anymore. Better if you bring it to service center.

i heard that puting phone in brass helps to remove water/moisture. give it a try.
Power it off and put it in a bag of rice. Wait a few days and power it back on.
There's a very slim chance that the short circuit damage down by the water isn't permanent.
Sent from my LG-P970
Thanks guys i will give it a try
Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk
Even better than rice a air tight box with dehumidifier box inside (the plastic boxes they sell in the hardware stores, the ones with the granules absorbing the moisture) . Put all bits out and leave it for day or two.
Do not dry with hair drier!! Or leave in the sun - might do more harm than good.

Thanks i will go to hardware shop and ask for those by the way i am using my phone and screen moisture is getting off day by day but camera and vibrators are not working so i am waiting for moisture to get off so if camera and vibrator works fine otherwise i can go to service centre and ask them for the warranty bcz if i go now they will say warranty is void bcz of water..
Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk
Indeed waranty is void by water damage and there is always ways to find out if that's the case for a technician who is not half asleep.
Luckily though many times they only have a quick look and write the phone off and give you w new one as long as there are no visible damage on the outside.

Completely dry it first before powering it on or use it. Short circuit will destroy that phone.

I went to service centre guy was very kind he covered motherboard under warranty, but told me to pay for display bcz water cannot be cleaned from it, so he cannot cover it under warranty.
Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk
Well it is something at least. How much did the display change cost if its not a secret?
That's the only reason I was considering the Motorola Defy.
Oh well at least our OB has nice display
Sent from my LG-P970 using XDA App
Well they are costing me 1700 rupees thats is something near 35.6$ for display.

So I missplaced my ace, and found it in a small pool of water ringing... First thing, got the battery out, wiped it, unscrew it, luckly no waterinside, just on the charging port, wiped the water, left it for a day, then tried it, every thing working, but not charging, the charger port was opened so water entered the port, now i tried to wipe the port with parfume and it charges, but some times doesn't charge, should i wipe with more parfume? or wait afther the holidays to find a working service gsm? Can parfume harm it? I used it for the alcohool to clean it...
I'm waiting for your answers, thank you who ever want's to help.
Now it works fine, it charges every time i plug it it, is the problem solved, or should i go with it at the gsm services?
It takes some time for water to evaporate completly. It is very likely that your problem is already solved

Soo, my xperia z fell in a sink with water, the flaps were closed, etc. The phone wasnt damaged and everything is working, etc. But one of the strips has turned red :l
Warranty lost if the strip is red but phone not damaged? How to get it back white? Other suggestions? Anyone had this happen to their phone?

Now that's pretty odd. Hmm, maybe its nothing. Try this,if you are running on an old firmware install the latest from the update centre,if you already are using the latest firmware try resetting it,not just the settings but with the data being wiped as well.

Dude I think u will lose ur warranty if the strips change colour from white to red. U have to fight with service center asking them its waterproof. Or ask them to check it because water damage can be solved before it starts to rust.

Try putting it inside a container of dry rice for a few hours. The rice should absorb the water from the phone if there is any left, and the speaker should go back to its normal volume.
just wait ~3 hours, that is normal

Yes, I showered it, soaped it, shampoo it, took underwater pics, took it underwater
And nothing went wrong
Safely take your phone underwater
If anything goes wrong, I personally replace my Z1 by yours!!
Perfect for a quick porn in the shower
Here is my shoot with Xperia Z1 underwater (Sea water).
Those are my nephew excited to have underwater picture with my phone
There is no damage on my phone, no malfunction, everything is perfect. Camera is not fogged and etc.
I wash it in clear water after using it in sea, and you only need to let it dry about 20minutes to speaker gets dry so i can play music.
You can listen music moment you pull it out of water, but its dimmed because of water.
Took mine in the pool, works perfect no issues. I was super nervous but glad I did. Love this phone.

I took this one [and a lot more ] last sunday... phone is perfect!

If the break is just on the screen and it's just on the surface, it's still water proof
For example, using knife instead of pen, cracks your screen but it's still water proof
But if the screen is broken, for example fell from 10th floor, so it's no more water proof
Sorry for my bad English and bad telling
I wish you got my mean
Otherwise, I can tell you in another way

I wouldn't risk it with your screen like that tbh...
That's just my opinion though
I wouldn't risk it either. If water enters the phone and it breaks, it won't be covered by the warranty as Sony would blame it on the cracked screen and they would propably be right!
