hey guys a quick question for you. I bought an OB for my gf as a gift for christmass. I get dead touches sometimes and it caught my eye sometime ago that some users experienced similar probs. Is it hardware or crappy software on part of lg? and if it is sw can any version fix this? I updated phone to v10g and still same problem. maybe some other version or any custom rom? Other than that phone is pretty decent and the screen compared to my o3d rocks. Any help would be welcome. And merry christmass to all. sry for my bad english
If it's a hardware issue with capacitive panel, no upgrade will fix it.
And about the ROM, we have Cyanogenmod nightlies as the best available option. ( Try installing CM7, if you think your touch button problem is s/w related)
Dead touches? What are those? Care to elaborate? Thanks!
dead touches is a problem of LGmail. if this app not in memory - we have dead touches. start LGmail and quit

so are you suggesting i send it back as D.O.A and have ot replaced? I mean is it just my bad luck or is it a general problem with all OBs?

Yup, it's your tough luck buddy... replace it.
I throw my O2X on the floor a day ago and now it's not working!
It won't boot, just shows the LG logo at the start and flashes (logo goes away and comes back)
I don't know what to do, and if it is a hardware or software problem
Thank you,
agronn19
PS. Sorry for my bad english!
If it was woking fine before dropping on the floor, then it must be hardware issue. Then again, bootloop is software issue!! Check if any hardware botton(s) has/have been pressed in.
I once threw my cell when I was playing darts in it n then I couldn't boot at all..fortunately I had warranty and I replaced it.
Maybe it has something to do with some component of O2X being loose. Try flashing new ROM if you can help it. Else it probably needs some prying up!

Sorry for the irony but how can I flash a new ROM? I'm new to Android.
My LG O2X have Android 2.3, if this will help you anything.
thanks. :good:

Use Smartflash to Flash the original firmware. Search for SMARTFLASH and original ROMs in ANDROID DEVELOPMENT section.
Its recommended not to try anythng if you have no idea what you're about to do!! Its a nice idea to get help from someone who knows android. Or starting learning it first.
And its a unusual problem. If the above method doesn't work, then the phone needs 1st hand checking....or help from someone better than me.
I really need help please .. I want to buy sp but so many questions in mindFirst of all i love the thing even before buying it
it's a super super phone considering the price and the specifcations but .. searching the web i found that so so many people bought it are facing this weird touch problem in horizental placing ( on a table or desk) the touch stop answering .. Some people solved it with glove mode but for a few hours only .. I can't decide if it's hardware issue or software .. I need to know if there is a fix to this problem and if rooting and using some coustmized rom solve this thing or not .. Please if you know any thing about the issue please share it with me .. it`s a software bug.. But not to all, depends where are u from.. anyway i use CyanogenMod 10.1 now.. and works perfectly fine... touch response it`s very very good.. and no issues so far .. so don`t worry , if you like this phone just buy it. hope i helped you .. Sorry for my english
Well the touch issue can happen and also can stay away. I only have touchissues when my device is hot and charging.. I also get a shock from the charger, which tells me that there is something wrong in the cable.
Has anybody removed their ASF and not had sensitivity issues/or fixed them? I had to remove mine due to a scratch in the ASF, and the sensitivity is completely borked. Itll work fine for a minute, then start skipping like mad. Ill toggle the screen and itll be worse, toggle again and go back to normal for a bit. Have tried turtle wax liquid ice, fusso oleophobic coating, and two different screen protectors. None fix the issue. It seems to get worse in sun light, and seems to be screwy almost every second time i toggle the screen. Im so fed up with this POS im about to powerslam the damn thing on some concrete...
its isnt the ASF problem.
5 months n still going, still waiting for sony to fix this.
same problem for me too... Anyway to fix this ? if someone have a tip pls share with us .. cuz it`s realy anoying
Mine was perfect before I removed it...

I'm thinking about removing the asf, does this mean I will get touch issues?
Sent from my Xperia Z1
same here... issues started once i removed asf and im pretty sure it's because of the oils from the fingers because when my hands are dry nothing like this happens... i can somehow make the problem less noticable when applying a tempered glass screen protector but it's still not perfect..

any more testing done and a fix in place for this?
Hello guys,
A bit of a random one here...
A few weeks ago I dropped my precious Optimus 4X. Everything appears to be fine (cosmetically)
Anyway the problem occurs when I put slight pressure on the phone. This could be from slight pressure of being in my pocket or when I squeeze the device (that's right - squeezing my phone crashes it!) Would anyone know what the problem could be? - or what I could do in order to fix this issue?
I find it quite frustrating and would like to use the device until word of a nexus 6.
Thank you all!

Sad, mate... but I think you should take your phone to technical support.

That's not an option. Its out of warranty, and I don't want to pay the fees that LG will charge. Luckily for them LG is my vendor of choice.
If anyone has the slightest clue on how to fix this, please do let me know. (The cheapest fix will be the most appropriate for me)
Thank you!
