Hello,
I use the manual, how to downgrade HD7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196183 , but when process start i get error.
My question is how i can downgrade my HD7 without Y cable? It is possible or not? And how?
About my phone:
HTC HD7 T9292
OS version: 7.10.8773.98
Firmware: 2250.21.51101.206
Hardware: 0002
Radio software: 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Radio hardware: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader version: 5.11.2250.0(134400)
Chip SOC version: 52.2.5.0
You have an O2 UK operator device.
The above method, Ansar's SLSPL rom is developed for Europe devices and won't work for you.
The only other methods to downgrade SPL 5.xxx are the goldcard and Zune restore point methods.
Goldcard method - requires a Y cable (either home made or purchase from online) 1gb - 2gb SD card, card reader and you need to download a stock//shipped Pre-NoDo/NoDo rom, the goldcard tool and goldcard image. This method you extract the ruu_signed.nbh file and renameit to SCHUIMG.nbh from the Pre-NoDo/NoDo rom and put it on the SD card, run the goldcard tool, select the goldcard image and patch MMC to turn the SDcard into a goldcard. Then use the Y cable to flash the SCHUIMG.nbh file to the device while it's in "USB host mode" Once the SPL is downgrade to at or below 3.xxx you can install XSPL (RSPL/HSPL and then flash a custom rom of your choice.
You can follow the goldcard tutorial here -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597837
You can use this rom to downgrade with the goldcard method and the Zune restore point method -
https://rapidshare.com/#!download|3..._Radio_5.63.09.13_3a_22.36.50.15U.7z|9309|0|0
Zune restore point method by Zubair - Restore the device to a Pre-Mango state through Zune. Meaning you updated the device to Mango using Zune and still have the PC that you used to do it on. This method you restore the device through Zune, when you restore the device it doesn't change the SPL... You have to re-update the device through Zune back to Mango and then the SPL is downgraded to 4.xxx the key point here is that during the re-update process the device will reboot twice, once to change the SPL to 4.xxx and once to actually install Mango and at this point you have to stop the update process before it install the next update which is the HTC firmware update, if that's applied then the SPL is upgraded to 5.xxx again. Once the the device is restored to 4.xxx then you can flash the Pre-NoDo/NoDo rom while the device is in bootloader mode to downgrade the SPL to at or below 3.xxx to install XSPL (RSPL/HSPL) and then flash a custom rom of your choice.

Dear All,
I'm very new to flashing roms on Win Phone devices.
I have a HTC HD7 with SPL-5.11.2250.0 and would like to fully unlock/root my device so I can install any xap file I want.
I tried several exe files. first RUU_Schubert_HTC_EUrope..... and then with the DFT_RSPL/HSPL executables. Nothing worked so far, but I noticed that when booting up the phone with the volume-down button to get into the bootloader, this bootloader doesn't show me the connection mode anymore (serial or usb). Have I broken the bootloader somehow?
Problem is that nothing I'd like to do works. After having had the wrong RUU_Schubert....exe files I finally think I have found the right one for my system: RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_5.10.401.04_SLSPL_Signed_by_ansar
But the problem is still that the setup program cannot connect to my phone: ERROR [260] ; Connection
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong... What really makes me wonder is that the connection mode isn't displayed in bootloader anymore (previously it was always stated serial or usb, now it's just an empty white rectangle^^)
Anyone knows about that ?
Thanks alot!
Cheers, Oli
yours is SPL 5.11 , it cannot be flashed or downgraded by software methods which is why nothing u do is working
And yes i think u have also bricked yr bootloader in the process of trying different methods , most likely u choose the wrong DFT RSPL/HSPL version to flash
Using DFT HSPL/RSPL on original 4xxx and above SPL will brick it.
u need to use goldcard , y cable method to downgrade it to a version of spl that is 3xxx and below
SO now yr situation is that u have a bricked phone .
Meaning I cannot even do the goldcard trick as I do not have an sd card slot on my phone?

Yeah you can use the goldcard method. In fact you can typically repair a damaged/bricked bootloader with the goldcard method too. Luckily since only the serial/USB portion in BL mode is missing, the bootloader isn't damaged very seriously.
Use the goldcard method and flash a stock/shipped rom for your devices specific carrier. This should repair the bootloader and should also downgrade your spl and OS version as well, depending on what rom version you flash. At this point you can update through Zune to the current OS version. Then if you wanted to, you could use your goldcard to downgrade the spl and install rspl/hspl and flash a custom rom! Here's Shadows tutorial on how to downgrade spl, this will give you a background on how the process work and links to all the shipped/stock roms:

This gives a good view and idea on how to make the cable:

Well the process is -
Downgrade the SPL to at or below 3.xxx, (which is required to install RSPL/HSPL) since your SPL is 1.16, there is no need to downgrade the SPL any further and that is the hardest part of the whole process.
Download and install RSPL/HSPL from DFT for first Gen devices. Read through the post carefully and follow the directions, to avoid any damage to your device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16189671&postcount=1
Install the custom rom of your choice.
Follow Shadows tutorial here for step by step instructions.

These are the only the methods for downgrading SPL 5.xxx
1. Goldcard method - requires Y cable, (either purchased or home made) card reader/flash drive, goldcard tool. Card reader seems to be more successful and use a 1gb to 4gb SD card, larger SD cards will work but need to formatted to FAT32 and partitioned.
Download a Pre-NoDo, Nodo specific rom and the goldcard tool. Put the rom on the SD card and patch it with the goldcard tool. Enter the device into USB host mode and make the proper Y cable connections, the flash process will start. SPL has to be downgraded to at or below 3.xxx to install RSPL/HSPL. Once that's achieved install RSPL/HSPL and then you can flash a custom rom of your choice. Make sure it has WiFi tethering feature.

2. Zune restore point by Zubair - If you undated your device from a Pre-Mango state then you can restore the device throught Zune. The restore won't downgrade the SPL, but the update process will when it installs Mango. The device will restart twice during the update process, once to change the SPL to 4.xxx and once to install Mango. You have immediately stop the update process after it installs Mango and before it installs the HTC Firmware update otherwise it will upgrade your SPLto 5.xxx again. From this point just follow Shadows tutorial and flash a PreNoDo/NoDo rom to downgrade the SPL to 3.xxx and then you can install RSPL/HSPL and then a custom rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362194
3. SLSPL rom by Ansar - This is for Europe devices with a Firmware Revision Number ending in .401 and can work on TMobile devices that are SIM unlocked.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411904
Just follow Shadows tutorial, it's step by step for downgrading SPL, flashing XSPL and installing custom roms. Has all the links for the 5.xxx and
4.xxx downgrade methods, stock/shipped rom collections and XSPL - Which is installing RSPL/HSPL.

Hi. I am new at this forum . My phone is NOKIA LUMIA 710 with latest update. So my question is how can I jailbreak or install custom rom on myNOKIA. Here is the info from boot menu:
And the info in About: NOKIA Lumia 710
Softrawe: windows Phone 7.5
OS version: 7.10.8773.98

Bootloader version: 7.33.00
Chip SOC version: 0.74.2.1
Hi All,
I need your help in deciding what are my options.
I have read many posts and ended up confused (no offence meant) because of my situation.
Some posts that are similar are too old as my condition has changed since then.
I will try to give as much info before asking, so here it goes:
System Info-
Model: HTC HD7 T9292 from T-Mobile
Software: Windows Phone 7.5
OS Version: 7.10.8773.98
Firmware revision number: 2250.21.51101.206
Hardware revision number: 0002
Radio software version: 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Radio hardware version: A.12.0.D4
Bootloader Version: 5.11.2250.0(134400)
Chip SOC version: 2.2.5.0
History:
I installed some custom rom last year. Now, when the phone starts, I see O2 Welcome message. I think I have a official ROM as per that splash of O2.
Issues:
Lately, the cellular reception has drastically deteriorated.
GPS does not show accurate location and takes a few tries of opening the Locations app and pressing the locate me option.
Unable to find an awesome solution as a GPS app, as i can't afford to use data all the time, it costs a lot in New Zealand.
Question:
- I want to know if I can make my WP7 experience any better or its too late as i updated my phone to Mango.
- Can someone please take time to go through and just post the links to the steps that I can perform without damaging anything.
- I want to be able to install apps, XAP's, make changes to improve performance and better radio for reception.
I have seen posts on threads, but still confused which are the right steps to be followed as everyone's phone, updates installed, ROM's installed are different. I deeply acknowledge everyone's hardwork, and time spent to read and make posts, and apologize if i am being duplicative, but just looking for right info and steps that would make things understandable for me.
Many Thanks,
you may use the Goldcard method to revert back to another ROM. e.g. TMOUS Shipped ROM

Sure, I can revert, but want to know if I revert to the shipped ROM, what process do I follow from there on to get a custom ROM e.g. deepshining, and will that also allow me to sideload apps (xap installs).

see the tutorial I wrote, link in my signature.
and yes, all the Schubert Custom ROMs have at least Dev Unlock, whic allows XAP sideloading.

Thanks a lot for the Info.
I saw the links, just want to confirm i am heading right.
I would follow the process and install the Pre-NoDo ROM as below:
TMOUS 1.54.531.02 HTC HD7 7.0.7004.0 2250.09.15402.531
After flashing this ROM on, I can flash it to the custom ROM from deepshining, which would include the latest radio too. (please add on any suggestions you have on the version so that I choose the right one)
By doing this, I would have the latest WP7 version, latest radio, and ability to install .xap files.
As soon as you confirm, I will complete the said tasks and update with the results.
PS: Please correct me if I am wrong somewhere.
Thank You for being a great help
after Goldcard method, you need to XSPL before flashing a Custom ROM.
Thanks for the info.
Would I have to do the XSPL or HSPL.
Also want your suggestions on the radio, if i should install it seperate or does the deepshining Rom include a good radio already.
I will make a Y cable and follow the Goldcard method. Can't we use a SDHC card for doing the goldcard?
XSPL = RSPL and HSPL
RSPL is reloaded SPL. Meaning that it's not permanently flashed to the device and will reset to OSPL (original SPL) after you flash the rom or if the device is rebooted.
HSPL is hard SPL. Meaning that it is permanently flashed to the device, replaces OSPL and will stay after flashing a rom.
If you only install RSPL, everytime you flash a new rom or a updated rom version you will have to put the device into bootloader mode and connect it to the PC and reinstall RSPL to the device and while it's still in bootloader mode, flash the new or updated rom version.
If you install HSPL to the device and want to install a new or updated rom version, you just have to put the device into bootloader mode and connect to the PC and flash the new/updated rom version. You don't have to do a reinstall. HSPL is much easier and can still be returned to OSPL if needed to be.
To install XSPL - First you need to install RSPL to the device. Put the device into bootloader mode and connect to the PC (wait and allow it to install the Qualcomm drivers) open and run the RSPL wizard, choose the closest RSPL version to your devices SPL version (eg. If SPL version is 1.10 and the closest RSPL version is 1.12 choose that version) and install RSPL to the device, once RSPL is successfully installed make sure that the SPL on the bootloader screen changes from SPL to RSPL, and if you want to install HSPL, keep the device connected, close the RSPL wizard and open and run the HSPL wizard, choose the closest HSPL version to the devices RSPL version and install. Once HSPL is successfully installed make sure that the RSPL on the bootloader screen changes from RSPL to HSPL. Keep the device connected and close the HSPL wizard, open the custom rom file and double click on the ruuwrapper (rom update utility wrapper) follow the prompts on the screen, flash the rom to the device and enjoy.
If you're not gonna install HSPL, once the RSPL is successfully installed keep the device connected to the PC, close the RSPL wizard and open the custom rom file and double click on the ruuwrapper and follow the prompts on the screen and flash the rom to the device.
Most custom roms have a recommended radio version and are included in the rom and will be installed when flashing the rom. Deepshining has one packaged with it.
SDHC cards will work... Make sure it's a 1gb - 2gb SD card and formatted to FAT32. Larger SD cards can work but need to be partitioned down to 1gb.
Hi,
I wanted to install that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271118
but it is written that I should downgrade to NoDo . So I had my Nodo back up. I did that using Zune.
my phone is showing version 7.0.x.x which is Nodo but my bootlader version is still 5.11.x.x.
how this is possible? does it mean that even bootlader version is 5.x, if I have nodo, I can continue installing RSPL/HSPL?
EDIT: I have just learnt that Nodo restore doesnt restore the bootloader version.
I am going to downgrade to 4.x with this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362194
but I am wondering, can I downgrade from 4.x to 3.x?
because in order to install that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271118
I need to have SPL less that 4? isnt it?
thanks for your help
Yes if you've already restored your device to NoDo through Zune then you will still have SPL 5.xxx, the restore doesn't downgrade the SPL.
What downgrades the SPL is the re-update process. You have to re-update the device to Mango again. The key here is that when updating to Mango the device will reboot twice, once to downgrade the SPL to 4.xxx and once to install Mango...You have to stop the update process after Mango is installed and before the next update is applied which is the HTC Firmware Update. If that's installed then the SPL is upgraded to 5.xxx again.
After the Mango is installed and the SPL is downgraded to 4.xxx you can the flash a Pre-NoDo/NoDo rom to the device to downgrade the SPL to at or below 3.xxx (which is required to install XSPL = RSPL/HSPL)
One the SPL is downgraded to 3.xxx or lower you can Install XSPL
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16189671&postcount=1
After you install XSPL to the device then you can flash a custom rom of your choice.
thank you i have finally succeeded but it is really a hard process.
i know nothing about jailbreaking of this phone
can sm1 pls guide mee wat to do to make my phone giving mee good speed & customizations
Hi,
You have to find out what bootloader/SPL version your device has.
Go to settings - About - More - This will give you your bootloader version, Firmware Revision # and the device Info. If you post back the bootloader version and Firmware revision #, I can help you with what method to use and what Pre-NoDo/Nodo rom to use.
These are the steps -
1. Downgrade your SPL version to at or below 3.xxx (which is required to install XSPL)
2. Install XSPL (RSPL/HSPL) to the device. (which is required to install a custom rom)
3. Flash a custom rom of your choice.
If your device is current and updated through Zune then the devices SPL is more than likely 5.xxx and you can only downgrade 5.xxx by these three methods -
1. Goldcard method - requires a Y cable, (either homemade or purchased online) a SD card reader, 1gb - 2gb SD card, and you have to download a Pre-NoDo/NoDo stock rom, goldcard tool and the goldcard image.
2. Zune restore point method - requires a Pre-Mango restore point through Zune. Meaning that you updated the device to Mango from a Pre-Mango version and still have the computer that you used to update the device with.
3. SLSPL method - requires to download the SLSPL rom and flash it to the device. This method is for Europe devices with Firmware revision # ending in .401 and can work on T-Mobile HD7 that is SIM/Carrier unlocked.
Follow Shadow's step by step tutorial on how to Downgrade SPL, flash XSPL and install a custom roms. It has all the links for the above downgrade methods and for all the stock roms and everything you'll need.
If you have any questions or problems just let me know.
Also this is a question and should be in the HD7 Q&A. Request to move thread.
