help!!!kaiser says "the sim is missing"

hi all,
my new kaiser say sim is missing.
i tried replacing the sim card with others but nothing...i have reset it a lot and hard reset it and nothing ....
please help me....

Benny - you are of course hoping that we can say "Hold down this button and it all will work". Unfortunately this is a hrdware error. You are going to have to take the phone back to the person that you purchased it from and have them help you.
You do not give us much to go on - has this been working for a long time? Is it a NEW SIM? Did you justpurchase it - did you get it from AT&T? Who?
Your best bet is that you purchased it recently from a reliable merchant that will honor the warranty and make it work or give you a new phone.

Have you tried your Sim in another phone?
Just to rule out wether its the sim or the Kaiser

Did you flip the giant toggle switch on the side that says SIM ON/OFF???
oh is it just mine that has one?

I had that and bent the metal bar that holds the sim card in place so it puts more pressure against the sim, and hey presto. Been fine since.

I had that and then discovered that I put the SIM in backwards. D'oh!

"No SIM"?

Tilt was previously working. Now shows "No SIM" on screen when any SIM is inserted.
Any idea what the issue might be?
I am not the current owner of the tilt, nor do I have access to it to test anything, so that is basically everything I know about it.
What is your best guess?

is it your phone or is it a phone you got of e-bay.
If of e-bay it may be that yur IMEI is barred.

Ebay.
Well if that is that case great, because my carrier does not ban IMEIs, so it will work perfectly for me.
Is that really the message you would get if your IMEI was dissabled though? That doesn't really make sense, as it would see the SIM and you would see it say: Searching for network... Registering... and then it might say no SIM, but it says no SIM right away, so that can't really be it.
Any other ideas?

this is usualy a bad sim card..
usualy either a worn card.. or possibly an issue on the att side with your sim number
if you frequent any core att stores you might could get a free one..

I stopped bidding for it on eBay, cuz I don't feel like taking the risk.

Sounds silly, i know, but i had the same a while ago, found the sim goes in and locks shut back to front the contact part going in last, just maybe this simple

I had a similar problem with my new Tytn II. Only 3 days old and after I took out and reinserted SIM, I got the "No SIM" message, same problem with another SIM card as well.
Just as I was ready to return the device, after a final test with my SIM card, it decided to work. I have not taken out the SIM since and this problem hasn't shown up.

There have been a couple of threads on this problem.
It would seem that the design of the SIM connector is not all that it should be.
My main SIM sometimes wouldn't connect and another couple of SIMs would not connect at all.
A piece of paper, folded if necessary, inserted between the SIM card and the metal clip to increase the contact pressure has completely fixed the problem on mine, but apparently it has not worked for everyone.

Help! my tilt doesnt recognize my sim card

this morning i woke up and started up my phone and it said "insert sim card." the previous night i was texting and making phone calls like normal, so when i saw this tonight i was caught off guard. the sim card is in the phone and everything! i swapped the sim card into my old phone and it works fine.
any idea why my tilt wont recognize my sim card?!

Check ur sim on some other set, than anyone can comment on ur problem

i put it in my old nokia and the sim card worked fine. maybe its just the tilt thats messed up?

yah a hard reset didnt help either

try the sim card from a friend of relativs phone to verify if the phone is broken

ohh yeah i did that! so i suppose my phone is broken then i loved my tilt! this really sucks. but my birthday is coming up next week so ill reward myself with a tilt2

I have this same issue... My sim card is not being read by the Tilt.. I'm at work now, which SUCKS...
I'm going to have to wait until I get home to swap the simcard into another phone and put another simcard into the Tilt to troubleshoot.

anyone have solved this problem... It happened to me today!!! :-(

SIM card problem

hi guys.
i have big problem with my kaiser sim card. probaly the sim card slot cant read the sims. in the past 2 days i can fix this problem. i change rom, radio, hard reset and tried 2 different sims without success.
the phone works fine expect the sim.
when i boot in to wm it ask me to insert sim card. sim card is insert right. i own the phone 2 years.
what is my next step?

It wounds like your ribbon cable is wearing out.. That is was the first sign on my sons Tilt....

Is there a way of replacing that ribbon? I guess mine is starting to wear out too!!

i´m taking same problem, my Kaiser is shuting my sim card each month aproximately, I clonned the sim five times, I reflashed from the original rom to another with the hope to solve it but problem stills there, my kaiser ****s to my sim in a month or two...
Any solution?
Now I make bigger my problem, I cracked the touch digitizer and I must to disassemble it, may be the problem is soled when i clean parts inside, I work as industrial Electrician and dust is floating around in my work

[Q] second Sim slot working irregularly

Using a brand new 64 k micro airtel Sim in second Sim slot
It stops working from time to time and message pops up to restart the phone
Getting pretty annoying

I saw similar problem with the primary slot. Airtel 64K sim, but 1 yr old. I got the phone yesterday. Today since morning it started showing emergency calls only. It stayed like that for more than 4 hours. I tried various things. Finally, I had to remove and re-insert the sim for it to work. I will wait to see if this continues to happen.

This happens every 7-8 days...
Only solution is re inserting the sim..even restarting doesnt help

Ok... mine 2nd SIM SLOT ... i somehow managed to damage.. :silly:
I checked with local vendors and it will cost me 500 INR to replace the sim (complete) slot ..
I wonder and if this is ok to go from local vendor or get original or should i live with single SLOT only ... :laugh:
