I was wondering if it would ever be possible to unlock my Tmo HTC HD7 os 7.10.7740.16 SPL 5.12.2250? I have been searching, for like 10 hours, (not lying, first time actually learning about all this stuff so far pretty interesting), through forums trying to find a way to unlock my phone without using a goldcard or y-cable since I can't make or buy the things necessary for it at the moment. All I want to do is put a cool rom on my HD7 like a Deepshining mod or something like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay thank you. But I figured might as well just do it the goldcard way. I was wondering if I would be able to use this cable Black 4-Port High Speed USB 2.0 Hub (sorry not able to place links) is it considered a Y-cable since it has the necessary two females and one male? or do I need to get the regular one?

unfortunately, no, that would not work. that male would be for data only.

you need two female USBs, one male USB.
male = power
1 female = data sent
1 female = data recieved
you can use that cable though, if you buy a female-to-female gender changer, as well.

1) Goldcard method to downgrade Bootloader version
2) XSPL
3) flash Custom ROM and / or Radio
for step one, i suggest TMOUS NoDo.

Okay so I downgrade bootloader using TmoUS NODO but what is XSPL and custom radio? and yeah I was asking you for a ROM suggestion as you see fit? sorry for asking all these questions I just to make sure I know what I am doing, since I already ordered the cables, gender changer, and sd card reader.
XSPL is name of the program. RSPL is a temporarily unlooked Bootloader. HSPL is a permanent unlocked Bootloader.
Radio affects connectivity and battery life. no Radio is better than another. everybody gets different results.
I have never used any of the available Custom ROMs with WP 7.8. assuming, that is what you want to flash. the 7.8 build used is too buggy, imo. if you want a stable, reliable ROM I suggest Dynamics7 or even intrinsicROM, though D7 is more up-to-date.

if you HSPL after RSPL, you won't have to re-XSPL in order to flash another Custom ROM. just an fyi.also, as long as you only flash a Custom ROM, your Bootloader should remain unchanged, therefore can just XSPL again, if you didn't HSPL after RSPL.OS 7.8 build 8835 is very buggy. it is usable, but buggy.if the bugs annoy you too much, I suggest using a Custom ROM with Tango. e.g. Dynamics7best of luck on your downgrade.don't forget to report back on your results.

Would anyone be willing to try a custom ROM?
It will be basically a clean version of the original TP2 ROM. If it boots and everything works well then we can get into modifying it more
Provide link - I'll give it a go.
My device is security unlocked anyhows...
Did I miss the creation of Hard SPL?
Security unlock doesn't remove the signature checking does it?

Firstly the bootloader won't let you flash it, but if it did, the ROM sure are hell wouldn't run

That would only get the data onto the Chip. It would be easier to patch the HD's bootloader to skip the partial model ID check so the ROM no longer has to match BLAC**** (or use NHBUtil to change the Image's Model ID to BLAC10000 from RHOD21000 - might also work).
Either way, the drivers and Kernel in the ROM will be all wrong. That's why ROM's have to be "ported" to other devices and not just patched and flashed.

You say that, but the Rhodium and Blackstone are very similar in terms of hardware, so it probably would boot. The keyboard drivers would all be wrong, but most of the OS would work straight off...
If you can get around the device ID checking that is.

How to fix a bad ROM flash on Topaz? Does anyone can give me a hand?

I think with HardSPL you do not need MTTY. With HardSPL it should be no problem to reflash your device, even after a bad ROM flash.

Just to make sure its not the hardware,
a) did you try other radio ROM's?
b) did you do an explicit hardreset after flashing (ROM and/or Radio)?

Yeah, I know your problem. I suppose so flashing is done with an error (it`s about shipped roms). Unique solution is flashing your device via COM port. Everything will be OK.

Hey guys,
my HD7 seems to have some hardware problems (random rebooting etc). So I decided to send it in for repair. Since I'm currently running the leaked HTC Mango ROM (7720.68) I need to roll back to a stock NoDo ROM. Now there are so many ROMs floating around these forums nowadays, that I have no idea which would be the on to choose for my device:
HTC HD7, Germany, unbranded, not SIM locked.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
you can go here and select the suitable ROM for your device,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD7/Shipped_Roms
but be careful because you may brik your phone if you flash a wrong ROM
I think you should flash the last ROM which is the only one in the Mango Section

Thank you very much. I think I'll go with the first European ROM and apply all available updates afterwards. That should be sufficient enough to look like stock.

It is OK, as you like,
But keep in your mind that the Mango ROM is official leaked one and is stock,
My suggestion is to go with it if you don't care about chevron unlocking your device.

I have a developer account, so I don't need Chevron to unlock my device. The thing is, I need to send my device in for repair, so anything Mango like wouldn't be considered to be stock as the update actually hasn't been delivered yet.

OK, Thanks
today my HD7 (T-Mobile) will arrive and I want to know what to do first.
Its a used one so it probably has WP7.5. If it has that should I just do the HSPL / RSPL thing then flash a custom rom?
and if its still one the old WP7, should I upgrade it via zune to WP7.5 or just do the HSPL / RSPL thing and flash a custom rom thats already based on WP7.5?
and finally, are all HD7 roms compatible with the T-Mobile version? if not please tell me the ones that will work for me.
thanks in advance.
