Updated my cell 2 V10f (yes, till yesterday there is NO GB available in india)!!!!!

the LG PC Suite showed me an update is available.
i was overjoyed thinking this to be the due gingerbread upgrade!!!! little did i knew this was another "froyo" update!!!!...da version 10"F" (yes!!!practically getting the "F" feeling )
moreover, the cell is "slower" now with quadrant standard giving me 845 at max
i know benchmarks is not all, but in general, the cell is SLOWWWWWW!!!!!....i got it rooted and got rid of the LG Crapware, but still it is slower than the previous 10D (let alone the "NOVA" ROM speed)!!!
i wonder if the crown for providing latest update is going to get transferred from SE to LG!!!!!

India will get gb 2.3 after 15days of euro open release. Bcos on 1st nov o2x gb update released & it was available in india on 16nov. Bt i'l nt wait for more 15days i'l flash with euro open kdz once its released. On some other forum where lg people interact with customer they said on 5th dec gb 2.3 update will be available. So wait till next monday :-(

Seems that the problem cames from Korea, they didn't release the file. I guess there are some problems or bug to repair. So we will wait more.
Facebook LG :"Hello Denis. The update should go online yesterday from Korea but have not yet activated for download. We are urging the online. We apologize for the mishap."

With all respect to Moderator but I feel the same (related to news and opinion).
It feels like this sub forum it is censured
I do agree that some post are over the common sense but do not close the tread warn the one who post such thinks.
Hope that I will not get banned for this post. But even if I will I think I was worth it to mention my opinion.

The reason GB speculation threads are closed are because they are useless. They descend into insults (towards other users or towards moderators, some lovely examples are included here), and offer nothing to the community. Once again, when GB is officially released, a thread will be allowed with official information.

[Q] WCX comparable ROM?

Hello everyone,
I dont post here very often mostly because I got the WCX Illuminati ROM a while back and I have been MORE than pleased with it. It is simply excellent. However I am going on vacation soon so I wanted to update my ROM as its pretty old now and WildChild has produced several updates since I last installed mine. I went to log into WildChild's forum for his ROMs and found that I cannot navigate to any of the forum. Its like the page has been shut down or something.
Does anyone know if he has shutdown or what the deal is?
And if so what ROMs for our phone offer similar functions to the Illuminati ROM? I dont want to downgrade if none of the others I have found arent as good. Just to be clear Im not asking if other roms are available Im not that much of a Noob lol. I found This Thread and a few other websites with other ROMs I just dont want to spend a week testing them if you all have proper feedback.

None come close to the WCX Sense ROMS. I tried porting some but dropped it because of compiling errors and lack of interest. You are probably better off staying with his or flashing stock. Sorry for the bad news but development here has pretty much stopped. Good luck

Is there at least any knowledge on what is the deal with his site? I thought he supported other devices as well its hard to imagine him just up and shutting down the whole site. Or maybe is there a way to contact him for his last release?
If all else fails though I guess I will just keep what I have and reset everything.

Plenty more where that comes from too, hopefully, though Sense ROMs I'm not too sure about, once I get the hang of compiling AOSP from scratch I'll try it.

I was referring to the Sense ROMS. The AOSP are fine but I bought HTC for the skin. I'll give the CM 10.1 a go. Haven't tried CM in a few months

not sure about re-registering yet the forum software is going to be upgraded so have to wait and see how that goes

Awesome! Im glad to hear it. I just checked the forum today and there was a message that said it would reopen at the end of august with new stuff. Which reminded me of this thread.
Does CM have the wifi tethering unlocked like WCX? That was a big seller for me on the Illuminati ROM.

Yes, it worked for me on CM10.1 a few days ago when I tried it.

Should not need to re-register as far as Im being told...vbulletin 5 will be the upgraded version

That is great news. Last I heard it sounded like August was a HUGE maybe. While it's good to see dev is still going on here for the Vivid there is nothing that runs as smooth or stable as WC's ROMS. The new CM MOD looks pretty promising but in the in call volume on the latest is still a deal breaker for me.

I haven't been able to get on there in 6 months, says both my email addresses are invalid

Well, Here we are a year and a few months later, and still no sign of the forum, now it just redirects to a hosting page.
This is very sad indeed. I always liked his work, and the folks on his forum.
Now his account here on xda is gone too.

Trying to get the name out there. This typically strikes me as a desperation move, but in this case Google is already dominating the phone OS market, so it's a curious choice at this point.

You also have to keep in mind that we aren't ware of all the details behind it but there is a possibility that Kit Kat is paying Google to 'promote' their chocolates during this period too. I'm definitely going to be buying Kit Kats to see if I can win a Nexus 7 or Google Play credit :good:
Win-win. Honestly, I don't care what they name Android versions, they can name it Android M&Ms and I can care less. A new Android version in itself is exciting enough

The promotion of winning GPlay Store Credit or Nexus 7 is pretty awesome.

I'm pretty pretty sure it's just Google trolling. More so provided that they have such a large index if what's happening on the internet, they would have seen the buzz about KLP everywhere, and especially the hard assumption of next Android version to be 5.0. So they're just playing a card against us.
No way will Google announce the name of Android release so much before it's launched.
If there's something this does suggest, it is that the release of next Android version, whatever it is, must be close. Close...close...close. Ah! October 5th. Android's 5th birthday on October 5th, with the release of Nexus 5 and Android 5.0 would be good.
Google must be putting our minds in a different direction while they prepare for 5.0

Can we not just share our experiences in one of the many other threads? Most of us have been running it for months anyway!

All I found was Dev Preview threads. Instead of digging through 100s of pages; thought we can discuss the clean build once we start getting it. Would be great to see when it actually starts rolling out and what difference / updates there are compared to the DP.

Hi there.
The source in the Android Geeks story is the message Google sent to developers recently saying Android 5 will be released to consumers on Nov 3. What that means in reality is anyone's guess.
I'm in London UK with a Nexus 5 waiting for the OTA update too. Hoping it's today but certainly not holding my breath.
When anyone gets it please post here to keep us updated!

If WiFi devices getting first OTA means then will the nexus 7 (2012) WiFi will taste android 5 before N5??

As I read in some news, YES.. because the final OTA ROM for 3g/4g devices need to be certificated.. so more time is required..
But I hope that the ZIP file will be released anyway...

Google doesn't bump kernel versions, the 2012 N7 is still on 3.1 and the Galaxy Nexus stayed on 3.0

NO THERE WILL BE NOT ANDROID LOLLIPOP TODAY !!! Google said that 3 of November we will get Lollipop for wifi devices and for gsm update will come later. SO STOP ASKING AND SPECULATING -.- It will be when it will be.
