Hi,
What is the best/most stable ICS/JB ROM for the Galaxy S 1?
I am going to use it as my primary phone so all phone functions are a must, plus (and this is the main point) I need proper camera and camcorder (not video illusion...)
But I also really need something stable
Thanks!
Cm10 is good for me and my usage but in my opinion the best way to know is to try them out for a day or two and decide.

Try custom JB Rom C-RoM Mix v5 or C-RoM BeaN v2.4. They are tested very fast, smooth, and stable.
I even flashed the latest JB Camera 4.2 and it's working fine. This is the latest and best camera so far for JB Roms.
For me, C-RoM roms are lagy after first 12 hours...They are fast, but CM10 based roms are smoother.

Where can I find the camera app for Galaxy S?
Does this rom include gapps? If not, where can I get the suitable gapps?
Thanks!!
Try this:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32493954&postcount=1
The Rom already has Gapps.
For better performance flash a big memory kernel afterwards - Mackay 0.95 or Semaphore 2.5.0s

Whats YOUR favorite Galaxy Note N7000 Rom?
Ice-Cream Sandwhich or Gingerbread Roms?
I personally use MidNote ICS ROM & Abyss Kernel. I like it a lot i just haven't tried any others yet.
The only non-stock rom I've tried is the AOSP by imilka, and I'm pleased with it.
GINGERBREAD. My own rom, I call it noob rom.
imilka aosp tablet mode v 6,my favourite rom!

Few users here were kind enough to guide me. May be I'll write a guide in general section.
There's nothing in my rom; just stock, deodex, pdroid and thunderbolt.
GB, Pure stock (Root+CWM), Latest
Midnote 1.6 with abyss kernel...love it.

Imilka's AOSP ROM. Why ? Because TouchWiz sucks. Stock ICS is what i was aiming for while getting my Note - and Imilka's ROM gives pure stock experience.

You on LC2? Any noticeable difference with LC1?
I like them all Checkrom, Criskelo, Kingdroid and My favourite rom RocketRom since its my first custom rom flashed into my Note.

But which ICS Rom has the Video recorder and Titanium Backup Working ?

None, at least not using stock ICS's software.
Criskelo all the way it's knows for stability, great performance and really nice implemented themes. best for everyday use when we can't allow ourselves for freezes, reboots etc.
Rom is updated only when it makes sense, for example when new firmware brings some changes, some roms are updated just to show off, it can be tiresome for ppl that aren't flash addicts

Both work on imilka's AOSP v7.
LC1 deodexed & rooted. Have tried a few ICS roms but they aren't quite there yet imo.

I've been using MidTeam 1.0 there's no ICS kernel so far but i can say its a great rom and i'm testing ALBa's rom and is quite the same, quadrant gives pretty much same score, the difference could be the theme, MidTeam is more ICS and ALBa's more GB, both are ICS 4.0.3 both full TW working, S PEN and apps are working as they should be.

Just trying out Stunner from Criskelo, love Criskelo's for stability. Stunner is stable so far with awesome customization. Just really miss s-memo, have the substitutes but if that could be added ( i know it cant) would be perfect
havent tried neither criskelo's nor stunner's which one is the one with amazing customizaions that you point out? Care to mention a couple of them?
Thanks buddy

that's up to you
it depends on what do you prefer. you have to try some roms. For me is important how offen the developer updates his rom, if it is stable and handy and easy to update. After trying dozen of roms and som kernels my favourite is Slim ICS in combination with Sempahore Kernel 1.2.0.s with hugemem option (399Mb RAM)
Slim ICS is highly optimizable, really fast and with semaphore you get some cherries like voodoo sound option, other governors, schedulers etc..
If i compare it to some GB stock roms, where you have 320 Mb ram or something like that, i have to laugh :

I have flashed quite a few roms (Elite, EXTRAordinary, AOKP, etc.). One of the best that I have experienced is INFINITUM LBR 1.1.1. This rom is smooth, good battery, rom control, OTA updates and plenty of available ram. You will not regret flashing this rom

Slim ICS, CM9 nightly and Dark Knight (and so Elite too)
The best around Dark Knight v5.5 da fast & stable
After probing diferent ICS roms, the best for mi is MIUI.4-SpeeD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1548796
Every single ROM is good. My fav is ICSSGS with Devil kernel. I tried Slim ICS and tiny bugs and glitches let it down. Also, in slim ics I had some SIM problemsand the icons are tiny. CM9 is a battery eater.
Is there any way to port Samsung camera application on JB rom? I know that these roms are missing samsung framework, and simply copying will not work, is there any other way? I tried JB+ camera app from the market, good features, but the video recording lag as hell. Can anyone recommend another camera app that will work with JB ROMs
Thx in advance.
Im using JB 4.2.1 C-RoM BeaN v2 and i find the stock 4.2 camera works very fast and smooth. I suggest you try it.
Device: GT-i9000
Rom: JB 4.2.1 C-RoM BeaN v2
Kernel: Mackay 0.230
Interactive governor
ROW I/O scheduler
Baseband: I9000BVJJPG
RemICS 4.2 rom can also be considered
I am currently using remics 4.2 , its comparatively feature rich, a nice browser, latest touchwiz goodies, and a nice CAMERA too. But i m also missing that amazing stock camera of samsung , itz performnce is simply amazing especially at dark. IS THERE ANYWAY TO PORT IT FROM STOCK GINGER BREAD??? DEVS PLZ HELP :crying:
I think it's impossible due to different camera app code layout. New layout showed up on ICS first, so if you want to have old, good GB camera I suggest you to flash stock firmware

Plus the stock camera relies on full Touchwiz frameworks to operate- which unofficial roms lack...

pls help me to choose the most stable and graphical 4.2.1 rom that has Lots of features for daily usage

Everybody has his/her own preferences. Only through self-testing can one be truly satisfied if it's the right Rom for him/her.
Users of every Rom can say that what they are using is the best.
Device: GT-i9000
Rom: JB 4.2.1 blackbean-7
Kernel: Mackay 0.234
Try mackay rom or slim rom.
Also as said above everyone had its own taste you might need to flash couple of roms to see which one is good for you.

Like the posts above say each to there own IMO hellybean (both derteufel's and franzyroys) are really stable but also consider c-rom too personally i would look at the op's and screens of the ROMs that interest you most and ask some members from the threads there thoughts and then make your choice

I would say SLIMROM is the best!!!
does slimbean come with its own kernel or does kernal need to be flashed seperatley
Idk CM10 is perfectly stable for me...
I'm both overclocking and using stuff like RAM Manager though and the alternatives might not require that (CM10.1 sure does for me), but I'm very happy with my phone atm

Slim comes with the latest Semaphore kernel
I bet you want to try C-rom mix v5 Silk smooth.

im usig cm10 stable build, although its 4.1.2 im betting the cm10.1 stable of 4.2.1 will be the best once its out.
personnally i like helly bean and mackay rom, they are both fast and not very laggy
I use JB AOSP from pawitp from 20121209 - the only thing which annoys me is incoming calls - when phone rings picture of contact is partially hidden. It lacks some options from CM10 but works like a charm.
CM10.1
I use the latest Nightly from CM10.1 and have'nt come across any problems...
AW: [Q] most stable 4.2.1 Rom
I use the newest HellyBean and got 4900 points on antutu with 114% live OC

Fishears 4.2.1 ROM is pretty slick too. It uses the old partition layout so it can make proper use of the faster iNand.
thanks for everyone
i use [4.2.1] Vanilla Rootbox and it seems the most stable for now....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2122727
..you can also try " C-RoM Mix 4.2.1 v6!!! "
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925195
I can never stay on the same ROM for too long. However, Slim and Hellybean were quite fast.
My favourite 4.2.1 rom is CyanAOSP.
It comes with the semaphore kernel and a sgs3 design.
Hello, i'm currently in need of speed for my old "warhorse" S
So let's begin. The reasons why i'm needing new rom and stuff are those that my phone is lagging all the time no matter which rom i'm using and so on.
For now, im looking for baserom that is possible to flash with odin, good kernel, and rom that has speed and stability. And yeah, it won't matter if the rom is Gingerbread or ICS or JB, i prefer JB but now im looking for speed so i guess JB won't be fastest.
At the moment im running with RemICS JB v6 with Mackay kernel.
Happy weekend for everybody!
Maybe CM10.1

I would recommend slimbean 4.2.2 build 8 with devil kernel for 4.2 builds (not the latest for 4.3).
And with a lil bit of customization and greenify, it's awesome!!!
I recommend SauROM, my previous JB rom f**ed up so I had to Odin my phone.
I must say that it is faster than any JB rom and has a good camera, fast launcher and is stable.

Be warned that installing any 4.1+ ROM will make your phone unable to multitask as there is not sufficient ram. However, you do get enhanced speed and responsiveness, plus more customization options.
