After looking around for a while,
i got confused
some sources said the phone will be available in australia on february 20th,
which is obviously untrue, others say beginning of march.
other sources even say mid march and after.
is there an official announcement?

And with the info I know and was informed, itll be early to mid March.

dunno when i will get mine though
Thats why I wouldn't order online yet, you could get yours at the end of March as you don't know how many batches there are before you.
But let's be positive and hopefully you get yours next week....or
You can goto eBay and buy one for $900 if you realy want one. But best to wait.

I spoke to a lady named cherrie on more than one occasion and she confirmed stock being recieved on the 28th then it will be 48 hours before till it reaches you or me fingers crossed.
I spoke to another lady a few weeks ago who told me that we wont get the item until the 8th of march i think she fills in for cherrie so i think she isnt familiar with whats going on again fingers crossed lol

At this point, i am so tempted to cancel my order and buy a HTC One instead lol...
I mean, hardware wise, the One destroys the Z.....
The only set back is the freaking bootloader ):

word on the street is that you wont get to feel that extra power from htc so you may as well get a phone that floats your boat and i know with the sony xperia z it doesnt just float my boat but wont even mind getting a little wet as well.

You shouldn't spend so much time in the shower . Since the answer button on the Sony is on screen, capacitive touch screens and water on them do not play nicely so I don't like your chances here either.
I am hoping that the Australian Sony Centre will get the phones first in Australia, I got my order in the first releases from Sony.

They previously told me the middle of next month, but next week obviously sounds much better to me at least by a week or so.

It's 2nd in the Buymobilephonea.net top sellers list, behind the iPhone 5, but ahead of S3.
With the HTC One and S4 about to come out where do we think the XZ will position itself in the sales table? I think overall Sony will outsell HTC (not by much) and Samsung will easily remain on top.

About what I'd say too. Sony did a smart thing by getting the Z out in stores before the S4, but there are a lot of Samsung fanboys (as rabid as Apple fanbois) who will storm to the shops the moment the S4 is out.

Lots of reports about sell outs in Japan, Germany ect.. Nothing official though.
Almost all retailers in india are reporting that the black and white models are " out of stock" and a wait period of 1 week for the purple one. Ditto for the online retailers too. So yeah, i guess maybe it is a sellout in India too, just a few days after the launch on tuesday....

I got my xz for 218Sgd with a free headphone worth 175Sgd. Now the prize of xz drops to 198Sgd but without the headphones.Yes nothing is free,but paying 20 dollars extra for a 175 dollars headphone is really worth it. hehe
There hasn't been a peep about Xperia Z sales yet. It's been out for more than a month now! So let's go with anecdotal evidence! :angel:

Officially, no idea but I'm the single IT technician in a company of 300. I got the S2 on the first day and within a few weeks talked around 30 people into buying one. So far I've converted 20 to the Xperia Z.
It's a brilliant phone and not had any of the launcher issues (or any other problems) reported.
Low number of ROM's seems an indicator for devs preference but that may change after reading CM have announced no support for the S4.

In Vietnam SONY start selling Xperia Z (C6602) on 30 Apr. Pre-order on 20 March (First 500 will receive MW1 and 4 smart tag or SRS-BTV5 and 4 smart tags).

Have you tried JB Hifi? They sell outright the Telstra stock with the same price $624.

you have to wait sometimes a week or more.
In Hong Kong the purple Xperia Z is selling especially well, and you'll have to wait until the next batch to get it. Black or white versions are in stock.

They are pushing the Xperia Z vehemently in india. In my City they have posters everywhere and kiosks across malls to portray the Xperia Z's waterproofing capabilities. As much as Samsung rules the smartphone world, they are not a scratch on Sony coming to marketing terms. Walkman,Exmor R,cybershot, Playstation,bravia. They are exploring every opportunity, including keeping the phone submerged in a water tank for people to test.
Thanks for the reports guys. So it seems from these anecdotal reports that it's selling very well indeed.
On Instagram I see a lot of people posting their new Z from Europe and Southeast Asia. Particularly popular in UK, Hong Kong, Middle East countries, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Not a lot of Instagram posts yet from India, but I will take our Indian friends' words!

So I know the honami is coming out. Yes it looks sick, but my nexus is slowly dying (it was recovered from a friend in a sink accident). I'm gonna need a new phone soon. I would like to wait for the honami however, I don't have 580$ to plop down on a phone upfront. So the t-mobile purchase plan makes a lot of sense and works well in my situation (plus it ends up being the same price as the unlocked phone at the end, unlike some of their other offerings). So I guess I'm asking for your opinion, buy the Z now, or wait till the honami is released, and hope it comes to t-mobile? Thanks guys and gals!

as u know xperia z was for Q1-13 so the features and capabilities are for that time
like S.S4pro and 1.5 Quad But i couldn't see any slow or bad responsibility from X Z anyhow It has Quad core and 2GB RAM and gr8 software support from sony (xperia developers) and other developers & AOSP (something that Honami won't get it)
But Honami is Quadcore 2.2GHz on S.800 and it means it s SO fast
if u don't wanna spend lot of money so xperia z is one of the best choice (and in xperia product best choice )

Honami will be out probably in November/December like the T, so, If you guys in America got the Z with 5 months of delay... Don't hold your breath too long.

I've been a mobile customer for three yrs with five lines I just got me and my son xz yesterday delivered and I got free overnight and speakers with both upgrades don't know why they told you that,I'm on that jump now so maybe the honami.will come to tmobile

Did you have to call for that? Or were you able to order it online? When I went to order online, I clicked "upgrade my phone" and at the end there was no option for a free speaker or free shipping.

You are correct but it will ship with the speaker. I called CC and they said they would refund the shipping as I bought the phone. I love the phone, purple is very cool.

I know how t-mobile works, however if you're on their website and click "manage my account" they have an option called "upgrade my phone" which you click to buy a new phone from them. What I described is exactly what an upgrade is, a new phone. How it's paid for doesn't make it something else.

I didn't get free shipping ($7.00 for ground) and it's supposed to be here tomorrow. I'm hoping i get the speaker. I ordered the phone online as soon as it went live. I called CS and they credited me the shipping fee, but it looks like I'm not the only one who had the issue.
The Z is a stop-gap for me. I signed up for Jump and hope the honami comes to T-Mobile.

First off like already stated it still comes as a upgrade online even though your on the value plan, also I didn't select the speaker there was no option it just came, and I also had to call to have shipping credited, also joined jump in hopes of the honami coming but if it's like the xz I won't hold my breath

If the honami comes out at the same price as the Z, I'll probably end up buying it unlocked instead of waiting on T-Mobile. However, this is all up in the air till I see the new nexus.

As we get nearer to the launch date I thought we could all share with each other our delivery dates for the pre-orders of the Z1 or estimated ones, along with where you ordered it from.
I'll start, delivery date is week commencing 16th September - Ordered from Carphone Warehouse.

Realease date is the 16th September in France.
I'm from Australia, I ordered one from the Sony Australia website (they were the only mob taking pre orders and most of the overseas re seller prices were significantly more expensive), currently the website says ships in October, but there's no specific dates and I've heard incoming phones tend to go to re sellers for distribution before they go to people who ordered online... Can anyone confirm this?

Snap, I did an early upgrade and pre-ordered the Z1, selling the HTC One.
CPW Pre-Order
It looks like I wont be getting my Z1 on the 16th
I have just checked the warehouse stock in my local store for the Z1 and there is none in, normally with pre-orders we get stock in the warehouse first and those are for the pre-orders....my order is still open, which means awaiting stock.
Now with the weekend now here the earliest we will get a delivery will be Monday, so I'd imagine Tuesday/Wednesday will be the delivery date, I just hope we get them in soon.
Bought a purple one straight from Sony Norway this time around.
Expected 26-27th.
Also bought the dock, which got the same expected date.
So fingers crossed that I don't have to charge the "crude" way :fingers-crossed:

Yeah same here but got mine from Phones4u! That's what their website said but I was upgrading so the told me it can take 3-4 weeks!! I'm still pretty ordering so they should ship it in the week commencing 16th September!!! Cross Fingers!

3 to 4 weeks is an eternity!! Hoping to be able to pick one up from the 17th onwards from my local EE store but will call in first to see if they have any stock yet.
It's a shame the 'swap' promo is not live they had a couple delivered to store already so could of had the phone already.

I think it will be next week as any pre order has to be delivered from then... Its just because I did an upgrade that they had to legally say this... Whichever way, I made great fuss and told them to push me in front pre order queue!
Thats a whole lot better than waiting for a month (I waited 4 to 6 weeks for the Lumia 920 which was a drag).
Limited options in the US and couldn't wait after the announcement so got it on ebay here. Says it will ship the 20th, overnight expedited. Hoping the 21st or the 22nd.
