Hey, I was wondering how can I restock my OB? I could not find a guide or anything. Iwant to have the recent official LG Firmware on it. I would be very thankful for a link. I am running Suppressed Rom right now.

The UNROOT
If you wanna unroot your device, why so ever, the easiest way is to use Unlock Root (Link above) open it, connect your phone via USB, enable Debugging Mode and click unroot. If you wanna unroot it, e.g. to be able to send it back to LG on warranty, better use the method below, to unbrick your device with R&D tool.
Because like this, you will get back an unrooted device, which has also been hardresetted. So LG will hardly/never get a clue, that it has ever been rooted.
Dont forget to format your SD card as well

That's from my how to, but I think I should correct this. Use Smartflashtool and flash the latest version available for you. Do a factory reset from within settings menu and everything should be fine

Just run the exe file to open the toolkit. First, if NVFlash drivers are not installed, select that option (I) to install the driver.
Then, select the option which you want. Each option's detailed description (what it does) is explained here in the first post. Read it completely and you should be able to use the toolkit.
If you are still having doubts, tell us, what do you wish to do exactly with the toolkit? Flash a new bootloader? Change partition size? Flash recovery?
Hi, i have a stock P990 upgraded to GB v20e. for some magical reason, LG does not want/allow me to upgrade to ICS.
I just want to upgrade to ICS and i dont quite understand why i should NVflash first?
could someone please point me on which post# or link how to use this tool?
currently downloading it and hoping that it isnt that hard.
could i simply go #6 from the tool? or do i need to though each steps?

Hello! Just tell if You please where are You from, I mean in what country you are using the phone, maybe your actual installed release is not the latest GB version in your country. In Italy last GB is v20s. What does the LG utility tells you?

Philippines v20e, it was the latest at that time and I never bothered to update to the latest GB version again.
Just found out that LG Blocks upgrades to ICS if you have an older OS version.
I called customer service and they recommend sending my phone to the service center to upgrade it to ICS (pay fee if not under warranty).
btw, i downloaded the tool from the above link, i went straight to option #6 - updated to ICS using the stock KDZ files.
----the option to the change recovery using nzflash didnt work, cannot detect usb devices. went straight to #6 and didnt bother the other options. i have no idea what other options does or their purpose.

Most features in this tool requires a rooted phone. If all you want is to update your stock ROM, you don't need to flash a recovery (and you won't be able to either if your phone is not rooted).
Using nvflash, you have to unplug your phone between operations. Only one nvflash operation can be performed at a time.

Not true. You can nvflash a recovery without your phone being rooted.

I think of you dont understand the Manual or the Simplicity of this Tool you should not use it anyway. some basic skills in Android are needed. I may sound harsch but thats what it is. If you dont understand than maybe you brick your Phone and then its the developer to blame... Seen this tons of times... sadly. :crying:

First, make sure USB debugging in enabled, if it's not, go to options - pc connection and enable it.
1_)Enter stock recovery by holding power button + volume rocker down while your phone is booting until a screen with small texts appear.
2_)Select the option that contains word "ADB" (I don't remember it)
3_)Run the root tool.
That tool is pretty easy to use, you just need to google anything you don't know, I learned it that way and so should you in the future

Yes it will work for t mobile. Just make sure you download the appropriate files for your model. You said you get stuck at 4? If you mean step for that's just copying all the files out of that particular folder listed

I know this thread is a little old, but i had the same problem after rooting my T-Mobile Flex. I'm telling you, the guide to restore stock firmware DOES 100% work. The problem is that it's not clear on what state your phone must be in. I had to manually enter Download Mode in order to get the thing working. I have been reading that some people were able to fully restore their phone by using the LG Suite program, which can be found on LG's official support page. Make sure your computer actually "registers" your phone being connected to it by installing the appropriate drivers.
Friend of mine attempted to root his device and flash a ROM from*mii.com*I believe it was. Phone constantly rebooted itself, and would not connect to data or show imei.
So, I flashed stock android onto the device. Upon doing that, the phone still reboots itself, just not as often. It also says network disabled and will not show the imei.
What can be done? It is d955 though he says was d950. Tried flashing d950 stock and would not work. Only one that would was d955.

You need to root the device and change build.prop to d950 then flash to stock using the D95020a tot and flashtool.

All you need to do is root the device with IOROOT or STUMPROOT or TOWELROOT
Download SUPERSU from playstore
use root browser and replace the build.prop with the one of D950
and power off, enter download mode, Flash to stock with D950 tot.

OK. I rooted the phone with Towelroot, which was a success.
I, however, can not find the build.prop from a D950. How do I find it? I've tried Hex editing the d950 .tot file and changing them to, "d955", but now I'm getting a failed previous error.
All I want to do is flash the phone to stock so the modem will work again. Any help?

If you have the original tot and dll
download WindowsLGFirmwareExtract
and ext2explore
from there you can extract original build.prop and replace it so you can the tot.

Would the build.prop be changed when flashed? It has the build.prop but I don't know if its original? In feel like I'm making this more complicated than it is. Lol. If its not, where do I get it?

You have to read friend.
you MUST extract the Build.prop form the ORIGINAL D950 TOT. the one you have downloaded.
if you put that build.prop to your phone you will flash succesfully your phone.

If you do it the way I tell you you dont need to hex edit anything. Search forum for return to stock guide. There are the files you need. You can use the tot to return to stock. Goos luck!
I have tried that way. That's how I got into this mess, because the phone would only accept the D955 version for flashing; But, the modem is not working.
How do I extract the build.prop file from the .tot file of D950? I can't figure it out using the two tools given to me! I'm getting pretty frustrated lol.
