[Q] Help me for Upgrade

I have a question
On this moment my phone LG-990 has Firmware 10c (india version v2.2.2)
So i live in Iran (MEA)
I have no problems of any kind with the phone
So what do you think?
shall I leave it this way or flash it to the (10d or and v 2.3.4)
Please describe how to install arabic or persian languege in phone...?

It might be a good idea to flash it since they some times update the updater(preparing for 2.3.4). Except that I cant think of any reason why you would need to update. Maybe for the practice so you know how to do it when you are to install the 2.3.4?
About the arabic or persian language. I think (some on that can comfirm it?) that they are inside the euro-open firmware. To get it download and follow the producers described in this thread.

you should upgrade to v10e it's good stock rom

froyo 2.2.2 newest version?

Apparently i'm running the latest version 2.2.2 according to the update app. Is this right?
Handset is simfree and unbranded. would it have been better to be network branded?

Ok first of all you mean the app from the settings menu right? Secondly this is the latest froyo but the firmware has moved on to gingerbread 2.3.4. But i don't think you can do this update OTA(over the air). So you need lg update tool to update via pc connection. Hope i helped and sorry for this but before you post something do a search.. that is why there are forum rules. To obey them.

Fair play regarding the forum rules.
I've got the update tool installed on the pc stating. The Cell phone is the latest version already. So you don't need to update.

Also pcsuite and all drivers installed,

It's a uk model, so can't as yet be upgraded by the lg tool

I did not realize you are from uk.. unfortunately there is no release for uk yet.

If you want you can root your device with gingerbreak and then flash a rooted gingerbread update from here. Sorry that i couldn't help.

Nothing my friend. By the way you are lucky because whatever you choose surely will have english language.. do a little search and decide what is best for you. There is stock v20n rooted which is the european open. And there are some custom like zeus and marvel. Hope i helped.

got my optimus black yesterday
LG-P970
version : 10g
country : Egypt,
tried updating threw lg suite it says update available for your phone then opens the LG update tool which says you are on the latest software no update is needed
got the R&D tool with enabler and when i click start update it opens the LG update toolthat says you are up to date not even enabler force the update process :S
am stuck on Froyo which sucks , any ideas help ?

Well, as far as i know LG programs can do that on pc. I have encountered one or two myself. I can't explain it. I don't know if yours is different. But my guess is there isn't a V20 rom released for your country. So check out this thread:

got GB V20n threw SFT, the R&D tool never worked , not complaining go to 2.3.4 rooted with cwm touch thx to

hi all,
i've flashed a few custom roms but would like to go back to 2.2.2
could someone advice me which is the newest/best/most stable european froyo rom that is easily rootable.

i've got an optimus black in this few days and it running the 2.2 froyo android OS & i want to update the phone to 2.3.4 Gingerbread android OS but this phone is an Bouygues France Operator phone and its fully unlocked now "works worldwide", i want to ask if i update this phone will it be locked again ?????

U dont need root for update to 2.3.4 if u want stock rom. But if u want custom rom u can root your phone with Lg esteem. It works for me well

i think that you know my problem am a new user of android phones i have used just iPhones before so i have a P970 Bouygues telecom version & its fully SIM-UNLOCKED running the 2.2.2 os & i wanna update to 2.3.4 i have some Q's :
1 - How to update to a stock ROM " please please ... a complete step by step guide " ?? How to remove Bouygues package " it takes a lot of RAM " ???
2 - if i update will it looses the SIM-UNLOCK ???
3 - Witch is better a stock or a custom room ????

if you want to remove bloatware from telco service provider, i suggest, u should just root it.

[Q] XMM6160 baseband

Hi there, i read few threads about baseband problems. i found this in older post (not my phone lol)
Details of my phone are
1) Model Number : LG P970
2) Android Version : 2.2.2
3) Baseband Version : XMM6160
4) Kernel Version : 2.6.32
5) Build Number : FRG83G
6) Software Version : LG-P970-V10d

so i guess this answer one of my question, that xmm6160 is froyo baseband the v10x or whatever. ??? is it correct ??
if it does than it would answer my second question, that i can flash any BB no matter if its from froyo, gb, ics and it should work with the phone. am i correct in this or not???
so now the question is, if my phone have xmm6160 BB and everything works fine except the auto time and date. should i flash v30 baseband? you think its worth it ?? is there a way for me to backup my current BB or i need togo the long way and extract it from the KDZ.
last question: if LG didnt release ICS in my region will the v30 BB work in my region, as far as i understand it may not work properly ?? am i correct ??

Try it... If that dont work, reflash your v10 baseband. That will take 5min
I suggest to download Clock Sync. Uncheck automatic time in option and use clock sync

thank you for your reply, i will try clock sync, about the flashing of BB im guessing that the post i found is indeed a v10 BB bcs the guy said that is phone is still in stock and unrooted, if i extract the v10e KDZ, is there a way to verify the BB version before i flash it??

BB version can be different for each country. A v10e from USA or v10e from EUR will have a different bb
If you want the good BB, take it from your country stock rom. Just need to flash the .fls file

am i correct that all custom roms do not have a bb ? if that is so, then my phone has the xmm6160 which is suppose to be from my old stock v10e
and if im correct about the above, than i should not even try to flah v30 bb, cause my country has only v10x version and not even v20 so ill stick to current BB i got.
and if im wrong can xmm6160 be a gingerbread BB?? that was flash when i had zeus 6.4 or marvel v9 cm7 or cici??
how can i verifay the .fls file that is xmm6161 file or maybe different ver. ??

Exactly, custom rom dont have BB. You are on which rom?
That depend... Im on IZS with the EUR baseband and automatic time work perfectly(im from canada). V30 bb fixed auto time problem. But im not sure if v30 bb will be good with your v10d rom. I can only say, try it

right now im on marvel v11 and auto time date not working, but all else including gps work fine. and i have xmm6160 bb .

Oh!
Flash v30b baseband, that will fix your auto time problem. Sorry i was sure you was on v10d lol

lol, my old stock was v10e, israel region. do you know by any chance if i should try and use the v30b open europe or it doesnt matter which region .fls as long as its v30b ?? cause israel didnt get the ics update so no v30 for us, only the froyo.

United arab emirates. Look into v30 thread in general, someone posted, there is an arab ROM now.

i just flashed the v30b open eur. baseband and when i got to phone setting->about phone-> baseband version. it seems that it was flashed ok, now its not unknown the ver. no' is 1035.23_20110405. s/w ver. p97030b-eur-xx
when i check the lg hidden menu->version->baseband shows as XMM6160.
is it ok? does it suppose to be like that ??
phone was rebooted only and no factory reset was done by SFT.

[Q] Flash ROM

Hello,
I want to change my stock rom on Optimus 4x HD but i'm not sure what do i have to do. I saw some threads about this but most of the links are expired. Right now i have : Android version 4.0.3; Baseband L6260.....02.1216.01; Software version V10d. Can someone provide me some instructions or working links? Thank you

First you need to do update to JB on your 4X HD then root him and unlock bootloader.Then you can flash custom roms.

u dont need to update through kdz. stock rom can update through lg center. the kdz method is used when u cant boot the phone after a mistake u did.
