I dont know about stock music player but you can use third party music players like poweramp..it plays music even at low battery
+1 for poweramp you won't go back to stock.

Music Player Fix

Download both files and copy to /sytem/apps (will ask for replace old music player, replace)and then set permissions to rw-r-r, then reboot

Hi everyone, I have download 3 music player for play my favourite song in... WMA but all Music Player don't would like play my song, he say "WMA is not supported on your phone) so dou you have a idea for add or player my WMA song ?
You should be able to play WMA files with default player (I am).
Or just convert your WMA files to mp3.
I'm using power amp and wma works great. Maybe you have files with drm license?

Hi ! Could someone pls give me an alternative to stock music player on the market which is a free app ? Not so happy with stock music player and though I have Android music player as well, it squeaks- like lags sometimes between tracks and plays. Stock player runs smooth but I don't find the punch like MIUI players, or even close to it. I can't use Voodoo sound cause I use XXJW4. Thx !

I don't know if you guys have seen this app. Its the beta version of the CM9 Music Player. I've personally used and found it to be one of the best Music apps I've ever used.
Screenies and Info: http://www.seeingpixels.org/2012/01/cyanogenmod-9-music_16.html
Download: http://goo.gl/CckWp
Install like a normal app. At your own risk of course.
I take no credit for the development of this app. All goes to Andrew Neal and CM9 Team.
Does this music app do gapless playback for mp3's?
This player is to CPU intensive while the screen is off. Therefore I will use the theme for the Google Play Music app
yeah my phone seems to slow down quite a bit while it's playing.. Might switch back to poweramp. But I do like the theme of it
Wait.. can u get this theme for Google play music?

-Music App
-Google music Theme
-Theme template
What should I do with the zip file?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
Your downloading the template, meaning your going to decompile an APK and replace the necessary files and recompile. I would suggest using the Google Play Music and then the Google Music theme.apk to get the look a like!
Oh OK. Thanks!

Woah, you guys are right. This app is running mediaserver in the background and the phone is uber hot + battery drain D:. Use at your own risk.

Playing music files according to folder location is one way to avoid playing sounds you don't want to hear. It will only play music files inside the selected folder/s.
I use MIUI player from one of the ROMS on our I9001 section. It filters them away by first start and use..
Could just replace your system tones ie.. sms and ringtones to .ogg files using Format factory application HERE
And put them in system/media and which ever folder you wish ringtones etc.. and reboot phone
thats what i did and now music player doesnt play my tones

Poweramp in my experience is easily the best music player for android, and as the post above points out, there are plenty of skins available for it, so you can tailor it to your taste.

Yes the default player on mine plays Flac files too.
