Today I took receipt of a grey Aluminium Bumper for the GT-N7100 Galaxy Note.
I bought them from eBay for about £14 from a UK seller, there are cheaper ones from China but I thought getting one from the UK would be quicker to get a hold of, in terms of delivery.
This is the first bumper like this I've ever owned, I had heard stories of people scratching their devices whilst installing the phone into these things, but I had no such issue. There wasn't a mark on the protector caused by the installation and, considering the screen protector is going to be much softer than the glass, thus easier to damage, so if there was going to be any damage, you'd see it on that.
On the note of installation, it was quick and easy. The phone sits nicely inside, there isn't any play as such but, when you "try" to move it around you can feel movement, but I think this is something of a good thing, for absorption purposes in case of a fall.
What I was surprised about, was the fact the back of the case sits almost flush with the back of the phone itself, offering no (extra) protection for the camera when you put it backside down, this fortunately is not the case for the front, the case adds about a 2mm edge to the screen, and so does get protection when you place it screen down on a table etc...
You can see that it comes well packaged, perhaps not as well as the Nillkin case I reviewed last month, but better than just being loose in an envelope.

There are pads on the inside of the case that the phone actually sits on (not on the bare metal itself.)
To use the buttons on the phone, it has it's own raised buttons on the case, they work really well and are quite rigid.
It's very precisely cut, the mic holes are correct and inline.
And the original Samsung cable fits just fine too.
All-in-all I'm quite impressed, I don't think It's worth the £14 I paid, but It's the just one of the cons of wanting it quick, as opposed to waiting for a delivery from China.
Also, to dispel any reports/myths, that it out makes the signal worse, the phone and other internal radios haven't been affected by the case in anyway.
There are plenty of sellers on eBay selling them for you to buy from, but here is the seller I bought mine from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281008440...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Update:
Due to the concerns I have about damage to the camera lens that this and, other cases that don't fully surround the phone don't protect against, when placed on a table for example, I have simply cut a piece of a screen protector, from a protector for a phone I no longer own, and placed it over the lens.
This has not affected image quality, or affected the way the auto focus works or the speed off it in anyway. With this in place, I am no longer worried about minor scratches that could be caused by putting the phone down on a desk/table. In my opinion, this is a suitable solution not just for this case, but just to have in general, regardless of what case (if any at all) you choose to use
I really like the looks of this case!
How close is the fit? Does the phone wiggle around at all inside the bumper?
One of the other Ebay listings for this has a video showing installation, for anyone interested: Oops... not enough posts.
You can search Youtube for "Aluminum Bumper Metal Alloy case for SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100) / Note 2 LTE (GT-N7105)"

I did mention movement in the review
"The phone sits nicely inside, there isn't any play as such but, when you "try" to move it around you can feel movement, but I think this is something of a good thing, for absorption purposes in case of a fall. "
But to elaborate on it more, it fits tightly and there isn't any movement but, If you try to force movement you can tell that there is a bit of give, probably from the pads compressing. It's nothing bad and is probably good that it happens the way it does.
Ah, my brain skipped over that for some reason, sorry!
I noticed in the pictures and video that the pads don't seem to cover the entire inside. The corners are exposed, and I am worried about the phone contacting the unpadded parts when dropped. Also, it looks like the rear shots of the case show light between the bumper and sides of the phone.
Extra padding isn't hard to add, so I may give this a try.

This is something I can easily fix on my own, if there's an issue, so I think I'm going to give this case a try!

Ahh, I know what you mean now. It'll be real easy to add some extra padding if needed, you'd just need to get some self adhesive foam and stick it where you want it.
Can you give a quick mention on the sliding cover peice, does it rub the edges of the screen? Someone said somewhere that the screen rubs on the peice that you slide back on to cover the top.
Thanks,

Ok, now comes the question, since I'm looking at this and the hard case you reviewed, which do you prefer using as your daily case? Love the look of the aluminium bumper, but the back not being as protective as the front is what makes me dislike it...
Thanks.

Well, I think I'm actually leaning towards the bumper I have a protector on the screen, and the back plate can be replaced if it gets mega scratched etc... I think the bumper just looks so much cooler than anything I've had before.
I have got a fully covering leather case for full protection when I know I'm going to be somewhere that I could cause some real damage if I dropped it, like when going out walking etc... but day-to-day the bumper is the route "I'd" take.

OMG thanks for the review!! ive been wanting one of these but havent found a good review for it online! you mentioned that this particular case doesnt offer protection for the camera since it is flush with the device. However on amazon i found this one:
http://www.amazon.com/ZuGadgets-Alu...391&sr=8-7&keywords=galaxy+note+2+bumper+case
it looks identical to the case you have, but in the pictures, it shows that the case is elevated slightly from the phone itself. do you think this could be different from the one you have?
thanks!
Good review
but I'm wondering whether this aluminium kind of bumper blocks the GPS signal or not when the phone is used as Navigation. Pls try to use the bumper and turn the GPS on. . Will there be any problem? thanx
There was another review on here regarding a metal bumper and according to him it did not affect the gps but it did affect the nfc..

This does not impact GPS/NFC. I have noticed roughly a one bar drop in cell signal but that's it. I've had mine for almost a month and no issues.

It's just the camera angle, if I take a picture at the same angle, it will give the same illusion.
And regarding GPS signal, the case "does" affect it. I've been meaning to make a video showing exactly what happens, I'll try and make and upload one tomorrow.

Anyone find one similar to the element case for iphone and Galaxy S3. I like bumper cases but the idea of a snap together 2 piece one does not seem secure enough to me. The screw together case seems like it would be much better.
I ordered this exact case on Friday. Should be here this week.

Looks like case mate made official their case for the samsung focus (other than just by the AT&T store: http://www.case-mate.com/Samsung-Focus-Cases/Case-Mate-Samsung-Focus-Pop-Cases.asp
EDIT (on 11-01-2010):
Just received the black version from case-mate. The reason for the case being 30$-ish, it includes a screen protector kit. I can defenitively tell that the black version looks slicker than the red one. But that's a mater of personal taste. I mean it's slicker in a way that it look like it's more *part* of the phone, meaning its less obvious that you have a case on it. Anyway that's my 2 cents

I have the red version (ordered on ebay) and it's really great, not too soft and harder in the back, I don't mind paying that much for a case, when I paid several hundreds for my phone.
I've got a red one on order... What do you think of it? I have seen a video review but it sucks...

I purchased the red pop case when i bought the phone and it was a nice case. Very sturdy but an extremely tight fit. So tight that when I tried to pry out my phone one day a small platic piece right under the micro usb cutout broke. The phone certainly pops out when you pullllllll it out. Either way iam dissapointed I wasted $35 bucs on that case but very content with my body glove snap case.
On a side note how efffed up is it that otterbox make a case the dell venue, which by the way hasnt had a wide release, and hasnt made one the the focus? Makes no sense...

This guy is selling them for about 22.00 has 275 of them lol
How do you guys like the way the buttons stick up? Are you hitting them by accident? Does it help in preventing hitting the camera or power button by accident?
I bought the Red case-mate on Cyber Monday when they were 50% off from AT&T site. I couldn't resist taking advantage of this deal and I needed some decent protection for my Focus. Although I kinda like the case, I might get the Otterbox when it comes out . My setup right now is this case with a Zagg InvisibleShield. I use Cat Crap paste lens cleaner to keep the screen clean and slick. Any case you buy is going to be a balance of form, fit, function, and price.
Form - This is a area of taste for most and differs widely between people. In general, I'd say this case provides reasonable protection at a relatively slim design and light weight. It feels good in your hand and is attractive. Not being a big fan of colored cases, the red is actually attractive (can't believe I'm saying that). Had the black one been available at the time, I would have definitely gone with that one. But the red is masculine and I can live with it. Agree with cubanaso about the delicacy of the small plastic strip between microusb port and front of phone (screen). This went under extreme stress when I put the phone in and I thought I was going to break it (most likely because I didn't put it in the best way). Thankfully it flexed but didn't break. My suggestion would be to pay the most attention to this area when installing phone. Because of the shape of the phone, the natural instinct is to put the bottom side in the case first. Might want to try putting the top side in first and flex the bottom instead .
Fit - snug fit and definitely isn't going anywhere. Feels like a part of the phone. I actually removed it to instal microusb card, then put it back it. It is a challenge, but not impossible. Like I stated before, you have to be super sensitive to the case's thin plastic strip near microusb port. Overall fit is excellent if you don't plan on taking it on and off.
Function - I've actually dropped it from about 5 feet and it was fine. No damage to case of phone. I'd say the protection level is above average but not Otterbox Defender level. It is probably comparable to the Otterbox commuter series. Minor scratches to back of phone, but still looks relatively new after a month. As far as the buttons go, the case-mate setup actually works quite well. The protrude just the right amount to where you know where they are without having to look at the phone. I can feel the correct orientation of my phone and upright it without looking at it. Big plus. But they take just enough intentional push to where I have yet to accidentally turn off the phone. Not even once. The execution of the buttons (and the side grip as a whole) is probably the biggest plus of the case-mate Pop! Case. Who knows, if Otterbox takes to long, I just may stick with the Pop! Case. I'm not a huge fan of a Red case (by any manufacturer), but this one is actually a good one and is starting to grow on me.
Price - As of right now, I wouldn't pay retail for this case. There was a time when this was the only decent case imo and it was only offered on AT&T site. This is not the situation anymore. Here is another site where it is discounted:

In the process of taking a picture of the sd card for another thread here on the focus site under general, I took off the case to get to the memory card.
When I was putting the Case Mate back on, one end of the thin part broke. This is definitely a weak spot in the design.
Did you remove it (the red strip) completely, and if so did you cut away the rubber gasket or leave that?

i left the rubber there. The thin red strip makes it so hard to remove the case but without it, the rubber there can expand for easy removal.

just the USPS one (the cheapest), got it within about 5-6 business days (I'm in Montreal)
I've searched and searched but so far found nothing perfect.
I'm looking for a case that is thin and protects the screen. Something like the original Samsung flip case, but better designed.
I have some requests that so far have killed ALL the cases I've seen - I found none yet matching all:
Must haves:
1-Notification LED visible as I want to be able to glance at the phone on the desk and be aware of new SMS/calls without having to open it.
2-USB dock accessible as I often charge the phone in places where having the case open wouldn't be handy
3-Volume/Power buttons easily accessible, preferably, exposed directly.
4-Cutout for speaker and mic, so that calls can be maintained after the case is flipped closed.
5-SPen easily accessible.
Nice to have:
6-If possible, it should be vertical-oriented and not be too thick, nor fugly.
So far I found no flip cover that matches at least ALL the first 5 requests. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I have the oem flip cover and although it covers the volume button it is thin and I've had no problem adjusting the volume while it's closed. I always use it closed when I'm in a call. Keeps my yucky face off the screen.
Just a little input for you in case you haven't actually handled the phone with this flip cover installed.
As far as the led cut out I know I watched a you tube review of a flip cover case that had a cut out for led.I remember because the guy doing the review got it wrong at first and thought the opening was for the camera...then turned the phone over and saw the blinking led...
Trying to remember which case though. Saw it in one of these threads....

As for the Samsung default case, keeping it closed might be indeed handy while on calls. I have imagined myself holding it with the case on the back but it doesn't seem comfortable. If the volume buttons remain easily pressible even with the cover, I guess I can live with that.
However, the covers block the screen, so during the day at work I will not be able to quickly realize if there is an SMS or other event (we usually have the phones on vibrate and on the desk). Being able to see the led would be great as that would allow to keep the cover closed. Surprising to see how samsung finally added LEDs to SGS3 and Note 2 but didn't bother to make them visible on the case.
Going to try to google some more, perhaps something with a LED cutout shows up.
Found it. I must be bored today!

Thanks planetbeen, that is exactly the format I was looking for. It is amazing how hard it is to find flip cases with LED cutouts. If the screen is completely covered, I figured having the LED visible would be useful in any case.
about 47 Eur/65 USD. Pricey, but1 the materials look good and there are cutouts for notification LED and even camera. There's even a belt clip option available for 6 Eur. Nice, very nice.
http://www.noreve.com/langue/en/product/Samsung_Galaxy_Note_2_Tradition_leather_case.html
Now that I grabbed the free flip cover from the Facebook promo, when it gets here, I will drill a hole in the cover where the notification light is.
I bought the LGND Premium Hard-Shell Folio It's not too bad. I like. You can kinda see the light come thru center ear mesh hole area.
I took a better look at the Noreve and sadly, it seems they forgot something... there is no cutout for the USB dock. That means you cannot charge the device without opening the flip. Very annoying and not practical in some cases.
Also, the phone cannot be used on calls with the flip closed... there is no cutout for the speaker nor the mic at bottom. Nothing in the designed seemed to make this impossible, but they simply decided not to add it or overlooked the feature.
I guess my search for a flip case with "cut out holes for everything" remains active... there are several cases that have SOME of the features but so far, none with all cutouts.

I tried to do an LED mod on a few cases, but it failed. I used a leather hole punch and got a perfect circle cut out where the LED is. I used ridiculously strong epoxy to glue the metal studs on for a different flare. Also, the weight of the studs really keep it closed (although it really does seem to stay closed nicely. Fits the phone perfectly, very minimal.

Modding the leather is a possibility. Should be easy for the led light, as easy as punching a new hole in a belt. Not so sure about the USB port.
Still, it feels a bit wrong to have that trouble with cases costing a lot of money (like the Noreves) because the manufacturers don't bother to add a little tweak to new models.
If nothing perfect shows up I'll probably go with that approach tho. Don't want to drop the Note and fracture the glass like on my SGS2.

That side-flip one, model B that you mention, has indeed USB+Led+Mic but has no speaker for voice calls while closed. And as far as I can tell, the volume buttons are also not easily accessible while closed (I use them often while playing audio).
The quest continues. Meanwhile, I got this cheap one that has all the features I need except the LED cutout. Other than that, all buttons/holes are accessible and you can fully use it closed, including for charging and talking. Material is probably nasty, but functionality appears to be better.
Since it costs about $5, drilling the hole won't be as annoying as doing it to $50 covers. :fingers-crossed:
Still no Note II nor case but both should arrive tomorrow. I suspect the case will be acceptable but will not close all that good as it has no magnet.
If anyone else finds one matching those requests on the first post, please share... :fingers-crossed:
The Spigen SGP wallet case is the best case I currently own. It is on the expensive side but it is worth it!
I'd just be happy with a simple "Barely There"-style case that has a slot for credit cards, like the one I had on my GS2.
Going to bump this up a little as I'm wondering if there are more offers in the market now... that is, flip cases with LED holes...
Still nothing good with a LED cutout?

No led hole but could be easily made with hole puncher.

I've seen flip covers that allow for caller ID and swiping to answer without having to open the case. I'm surprised they do not have an LED cut out though.
Hi guys.
I should be getting my new HTC One (Silver) in the next day or so and was wondering if I could get away without a case. Has anyone seen any scratch tests or had any experience with the rear of the phone?
I am very careful with my phones but have always used a case in the past. With this being such a great design it would be a shame to cover it up.
Thanks
Russ
Definitely get a case! Aluminium can dent very easily if you drop it. A plastic case will prevent this.

Thanks for your reply.
I understand that dropping it will dent it but I have never dropped my phone (I know there is a first time for everything). I'm more worried about scratches. I will have a screen protector so its purely just the aluminium casing.
Why hide a nice design? I've never understood why ppl buy something nice and then hide it in an ugly plastic case, isn't the htc one a statement against plastic to begin with?
About screenprotectors no idea if they have become any good over the years, I once used one on my htc prophet didn't like it after a day and removed it. Used my nexus s for 2 years without a protector or case and screen still looks perfect and that isn't even gorilla glass.

nope then it's time for a replacement
you still have to look after your phone but never understood the hiding aspect, do you hide your car aswel when you park it along the street? what about the glasses on your head do they have a rubber case around them? ...

Personally, I have never used a case on any of my phones, nor will I ever. I don't understand, why cover up the design, and specially a beautiful phone as the HTC One? I've never had any problems with scratches or dents on my phones.
To answer the OP. Get some bubble wrap, that should be sufficient protection
get a nice pouch, 50% of time protected
although i have to say i prefer the transparent One X flip/kickstand cover over the official double dip flip for the One

Its a tough one. Keeping a phone like this nude of course is preferable, but people like to keep their phones looking like new. Even in a pocket with nothing else in it, phones can get damaged because they are not made to be everlasting. I have never dropped a phone. The only phone I kept nude was the iPhone 4 with its glass front/back. It never marked up. But I would bet that aluminium back does scratch and so if you put it even on a table and accidentally it slides across the table it could scratch it.I understand both viewpoints here.
With the official flip case, you can fold it in a way to expose part of the metal back if you want to admire it sometimes. Also the phone is easily removed from the case in seconds.
Pouch means you can't put it in your pockets easily. But still, it'll be the choice i'll take if I can't find a nice cover.

no need to be cynical, when using a nice pouch you still get to use the device naked as well and enjoy
its just a protection during transportatio, also your protect your resale value
ofcourse plastic covers are a ridiculous idea especially over a metal phone, i had a rock excellent soft slim cover for my One X, never used it
and i meant a slim fitting pouch, not the ugly big types
I use a pouch for my one x when in use its no case or screen protector, when not the pouch keeps it scratch free

As I posted in another thread, there is a video n YouTube called 'HTC One Anti Scratch' where someone rubs a key over the back of a black HTC One leaving a metal residue but no marks on the phone.
I can't post the links yet as I am new to the forum. Sorry about that.

what...................... that is amazing!!!
However, I still think metal bodies get bend easily, plus it would be a pain replacing as well.
But as other have said, I agree and I don't get bragging how nice this phone looks like and how well it feels only to put a big case on it.

did u ever try to bend an HTC Desire HD? good luck with that
No, but when I had a Desire Z, I dropped it bending one of the corners.
Just got one of these CHEAP, but GREAT slim cases for the N7. I wasn't looking for a case, but when I saw AndroidPolice review it, I jumped on it because of the price really lol.
My take: It's awesome for $4USD plus shipping. Now Amazon is selling it for $5USD plus shipping ($3 in the US). So basically now for $8 bux, this case with free stylus/pen is shipped to you from the USA (for US peeps that's awesome not waiting a week or more for deliveries from overseas).
I have used it for a day and with my 4 year old last night. She found it ok, but she liked the prop up stand on the Seidio Active case better, even though the Seidio made the N7 a bit heavier than I would liked. Don't get me wrong, I still love the Seidio case, just for not everyday use. I intend to use the Seidio for travel.
As for this Ultra slim case, it is true to it's listing. Coming from a bit bulky Seidio case to this is night and day. Yes you don't get the same protection, but the slimness cannot be ignored. Mine is white, well off white, more like French Vanilla ice cream lol. So if you get a white backing or front face, it will NOT match. What you see on the Amazon and Android Police review is what you get. It's true to the pic.
All the holes line up perfect, but also has a hole in the back as well for no reason at all lol. I think the design was for something else but was scrapped. Maybe it was for another device and they changed the design to fit the N7. Maybe it was meant for the ipad mini? Dunno. That whole in the back has no real use. Other than that, all the openings and cutouts are fine. The speaker cutout is perfect and the case flips open without an issue and the bonus, a magnet in this slim thing. I like it that you can't see it in this case. There is only one way to flip the case to have it stand, but you can manipulate it to prop it up to type down as well if you play with the folds a bit.
And to the fold/front flap, this is just like all the slim type cases out there. It will protrude a bit at first, but upon more usage, the bend should subside. There is also a stylus holder on the back. I personally don't use styluses but its there if you need to use it with the free stylus they give you.
My ONLY con is to this case is that when I first got the case, after cleaning the N7 and installing it into the case, it didn't catch in all the corners. Because of that, the front flap wouldn't close. I thought to myself, crap, I have to get a replacement? But I didn't give up on the case lol.
I made it fit lol. The reason why it didn't fit is because of the felt lining in the back where it houses the N7. The backing overlapped one of the ridges where the tablet snaps into the corner and because of that it didn't sit and line up. What I did was snapped 3 of the 4 corners and when I came to the one that wouldn't snap, I used the front flap to gently push down in the corner to snap into place. Now it's held in there real tight and flush. It's not going anywhere. Now YMMV because the felt lining may not be an issue for you or the lining could totally messed up the corner. But for me, this quick trick worked.
As for pics, let me know if you want them but the pics listed in Amazon and Android Police link below has all the pics you really need. :good: It comes in a few colors. As of now (3/26/13), the available colors is the white, blue and grey. At the time of ordering, there was purple IIRC, but I my second choice would have been the grey one. .

question. Does the front flap auto turn the tablet on and off? and does it have a magnetic strip or something that holds the front flap shut so it doesnt open when turned upside down etc?
Looks quite nice. If anything happens to my poetic case I'll be sure pick this one up.

Yes the front flap does. Sorry I did mention it did have a magnet/magnet strip, but failed to state that the magnet works in that way. But it does NOT have anything to keep the cover shut. There is no catch at all. You can use a rubber band if you want, but not really needed in my case. I carry my stuff in a powerbag messenger bag.
I saw this case on Android Police as well and really liked the look of it, though at the time it wasn't shipping to Canada at all. Took another look, and it is now! Sadly though I paid more in shipping than I did for the case, but it's the first case I've seen that I actually like the look of so $15 is a small price to pay! I got mine in blue.
That sucks for the shipping to Canada!!
As for the "hole" in the back. I read that it's used for assisting to grip the tablet, which I can see, I guess lol.
Don't know which N7 you have, but would you happen to know if the mic holes are clear for a 3G nexus? One hole is an inch above the power button, the other us just about halfway down the left side, if you count the dots from the corner it's between the 23rd and 24th one, or between the 12th and 13th one up from the last dock pin.

Great question! I have the first gen wifi only N7 so I cannot absolutely say, but I took pics to explain if it works or not. Based on what you said, the mic hole looks like it will be covered above the power button, but the pogo side is pretty much free and clear. Again please take a look at the pics, they would most likely answer your question.

Thanks for the PSA. That looks nice and the price is good.
Do you think it could be used with a dock? Maybe not the official dock, but a DIY that uses the pogo contacts. Or do I worry needlessly about wear and tear on the micro USB port, and I should just prop open the case and plug/unplug the factory charger as needed.
The only thing I worry about the design is the side that rests on the table when it's open is the side that touches the screen when it's closed, and the tables at coffee shops aren't always clean. Maybe I'm worrying needlessly again.

I have been using the USB port since I got my N7 back in July (wow it's almost a year?! lol) and no issues with the USB port for me. And I religiously charge my stuffs when I can get to a charger lol.
As for using a DIY pogo dock, I guess you can if you have the pogo receptors in the dock that can protrude out and act like a plug to the pogo on the N7. But I guess you can try it out lol. You don't need to prop open the case to charge. There's openings where it needs to be.

For those situations, and if you frequent areas like that, your better bet is the Seidio Active case where you can just wipe off and not worry about stains (on the black version anyways lol). Or even a cheaper tpu alternative.

Well for black CF, you should go pink all the way.
Seriously, for black CF, I would go grey (when they are in stock again) or even blue. They do have black as well if you want to go with the easy route but again, not in stock yet.
Well the french vanilla white would be ok as well. For me and the CF, I'd go black or grey.
EDIT: One thing though DTJB. Because you are getting the CF back and Front as well I am guessing, this case may not fit. The case just fits as it is and if you are adding the dbrand back, it may be too thick, believe it or not. Sorry man.

I read somewhere that while the magnet on this case successfully unlocks the screen when you open it, it will also lock the screen on you when you fold the cover around behind the tablet to hold it in one hand. Can you comment on this issue?

I have heard of this as well, but that was the first thing I had tried and no, it never happened to me and I have tried to purposely do it with the flap back.
Great, glad to hear it.
The other question I have: several people on Amazon reviews mentioned a similar problem to what you described about the case being tight and having to force it in to get it to snap into place. A few of them went so far as to say it was so tight that they noticed discoloration and/or backlight issues with the tablet display in the corner in question, due to the physical stress imposed by the case.
Have you experienced any such concerns?
Thanks.

Nope. They may have put too much force in the corner to do so, but I don't have that issue. I would have blasted the case if that happened lol.

Thanks for the pics. Yeah, the mic by the power button is definitely covered. I've used a couple of cases that cover this though, it doesn't really seem to hurt it much.
Ok, since there is no general thread dedicated to Xperia T cases, I decided to start one.
Not to open new thread for every new case some of us get at that moment, let this be collection of all cases/pouches/bumpers, or whatever your phone protection is called.
I will start this thread with my first case for Xperia T, I recieved just this morning.
It's the Nillkin Xperia T case, ordered from eBay, and I must say it looks amazing on phone.
This is probably the best case I ever had on any phone (and I had like 10 cases form my Xperia Arc S).
It is very precisely shaped, and material finish is very good, not like some cheap plastic.

I have been using this cover since beginning of having phone and had to stop. Cover scratched shiny frame next to touch panel. I will do some photos.
So what when I have clear back when my TP frame is scratched?
Scratched appeared next to buttons - there where the cover is very thin and easy to deformate. Never used the phone in difficult conditions or bad weather.
Also cover is causing small preasure in corners of back body. So expect in short time the same effect as not using cover. Rubbered corners will be damaged or scratched too.
Whole cover is not too hard and works while using the XPERIA or got phone in pocket.
If anyone wanna buy, got for sale NIKKILIN cover but black

Some photos would be really nice, because I'm not sure what "shiny" part you are reffering to, and also I'm not sure how could any non-moving part, as this case is, scratch something.
I don't know, I switched like 5 different hard cases on my last phone, Xperia Arc S, and I never had any scratch or damage on my phone, and you know that Xperia Arc is having very sensitive chrome edge around phone.
I'm not having any reason not to believe you but I would really like to see some photos, to see what kind of damages you are talking about.
Thanks in advance.
Update: Forgot to say that this case concretely is the best built hard case I ever had, and not just that, but probably the best hard case I ever saw in any of my friends phones. And generally Nillkin cases are regarded as good quality ones, so that makes me wonder how could it make such a bad damages to phone.
Some photos of damage. It is small scratches... but occurred in 2 months of using the phone with nikillin case.... I want to underline that phone have been used with maximum care and never used in dust or dirty. Also in pocket never other things or much pressure.

Now, are you talking about those white lines, or those little spots all around...
These white lines are just light reflections I guess, so I suppose you're talking about these spots.
Anyway, thanks for your feedback.
I guess that pressure while carrying phone in pocket is also having its part in this, because it still seems unnatural to me that case alone could make such a damage, but I might be wrong.
Also, not related to your post, I'm planning to order leather pouch also, from eBay, to take the phone out of this hard case from time to time.
I discovered that there are official leather pouches from brand called Roxfit, and they really seem like a great quality. They are creating pouches / flip cases, for various Xperia models.
This is their webpage:
http://www.roxfit.mobi
http://www.roxfit.mobi/#!xperia-t/c1c0r
And this is the pouch I want to order from eBay (its much cheaper than on official page):
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221231391133?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649
Its originally for Xperia SP, but since dimensions are almost identical, the T will fit perfectly in this one.
just a tip, if you working a handwork, or you are many time outside. dont use such thing.
i saw it at my brothers last Sony.
hes working with cars (no office job), and with the time little dust or whatever go near the case, everytime he pulled it out and in, he got miniscratches. you will notice that later...
at the end it was full of scratches. looked horrible^^
it was an ArcS (shiny backside)
i mean these leather bags look nice, but if you not take care dust or sand or whatever, you will regret it later.
and thats the point, why buy a leatherbag for protection, when you have to take care the using. then you also can use it without that bag.
maybe its different, because the T hasnt shiny backside, but in my opinion this type hasnt the best well-wrought conecpt.

Yes, I meant white spots and scratches, not reflections. It is very very difficult to do a good photo of them.
My trousers are loose, so there was no pressure... Also in the pocket of the jacket was no preasure.
I noticed longer cooling down of the phone after gaming longer time or wheather is warm... It is not good for CPU/GPU.
Well, the way I see it, protective cases (all kind of, from hard cases, to flip, to leather puches), are only useful for some "accidental" events.
Like accidental drops, kicks, scratches, or so...
If you're a kind of "rough" user, not carrying too much about about your phone, then it will get weary and damaged eventually, with or without protective case.
Case in point, my last phone was Xperia Arc S, a very shiny piece of hardware (therefore very sensitive to all kind of scratches), and I used various hard cases and leather pouches on it. In a year and half of usage, till the moment I sold it, it never get any scratch on its body, not a single one, believe me. Beside that famous crack above sensor, housing itself was in state that it was the first day I bought it.
To conclude, if you're careful enough, you can keep your phone in mint state, and various cases are only a helpful tool for keeping phone protected from accidents, not from yourself. If you're not careful, your phone will be damaged by time, no matter what case you keep on it.

I was replying to previous poster, who said that it's not "safe" to carry your phone in leather pouches.
And based on your experience, I guess I will not keep the phone in this case for next 2 months constantly.
I don't know, maybe some tpu/silicon case is better option then, but I'm just sick of those S-Line tpu cases, as everyone is carrying them around...

I'm not quite sure about humidity and silicone case put on the phone. In warmer day you always get some humidity in pocket from your body. The same in winter - from cold to warm - water is liquefing. Dunno how sealed silicone case affect on that.

I have tried the S line case and it seemed bit flimsy on the sides and was constantly snapping around when using the screen which could damaged the sides as in those pics posted.
I got another TPU GEL/Rubber case afterwards (link below), and has been in use for nearly an year now. Just noticed a tiny bit of the coating peeling off near headphone jack on top, but no other damages.

Wow, I just discovered this:
http://www.incipio.com/cases/smartp...t-tl-cases/sony-xperia-t-tl-dualpro-case.html
It seems like a rock solid quality. What you get are two different layers. One made of silicon that goes directly on phone, and another made out of some hard material, that goes over the silicon one.
The price is 30 dollars on official page, and I found it on eBay too, for the same price (with shipping included):

I have this same case, only in black, the phone is also black, and I think a great cover is thin, does not break too the great design of this phone, and is resistant to shock like no other, perhaps more expensive than other alternatives, but if someone wants a good case, without hesitation buying this.

Well, thanks alot for your feedback. I'm torturing myself since I discovered this, should I go for it, or not...
So it is great, as I thought it is. Can you just tell me how good it's fitting the phone. Because this is the first time I'm seeing the case like this, with two different layers. I guess it is fitting phone tightly enough, judging by price.
I have ordered one of these (click to enlarge)
£4.95 + FREE UK delivery
I decided this was the best design as the clip is on the left side and wont get in my way when the phone is in my hand

When it arrives ill let yall know if its any good
(putting cards in there will more than likely cause damage (imprint my account number on the screen lol) and im a little worried about the magnet in the clip. not sure if this is an issue nowadays but I know a magnet sends old pc monitors permanently purple
