You must install total commander from play store and you should see your sd.

Not sure if I understand correctly... Are you saying that in all ROMs you have tried so far, except CM10, you CAN'T see External SD at all? This doesn't make sense... It is all about how the storage is mounted in a particular ROM, but both Internal and External cards should be visible on the OS level (some apps may have problems accessing one or the other, but that's a different question). For example, in a stock-based ROM I am currently using the Internal SD is mounted as /sdcard, and the External SD is mounted as /sdcard/_ExternalSD. Other ROMs, like CM10, may have different mounts, but any file manager should give you the access to both, as long as you know where to look...

That's the way it's always been for me... I am currently using a stock-based GB ROM, and I can access both Ext and Int SD cards from the OS, from CWM recovery, and from a PC when connected by USB (yes, they show up as two separate drives).

I think you should flash stock rom via smartflash. If your problem in software you will fix it. If reflashing willn't help you have problem with hardware.

I didnt say I had a problem... I don't need to fix it, I am quite happy with how it is, and want it to stay this way.

install CWM by rusty, the external version, so that is displays the external sd in CWM...
about loosing your usb access, its a current bug in MIUI afaik, if that occurs, use the app dual mount sd from the market, something like that name, cause right now native sd mounting in MIUI is buggy..
note: I've seen a patch on MIUI thread about using your external sd as the main one, instead of the internal sd, and it fixes the mounting problem in MIUI
If he installs it and the external SD card isn't recognised, it will fall back to the internal storage.

Hi guys, I have the following issue. I installed a SD card but when plug-in it to my computer only the internal SD would show ( I was expecting both ), then I went to Storage on the phone and it was showing there, so I chose format in case that cuold help but now it's gone from there too
Anyway, since I can't seem to fix that for now, can I copy a rom into the internal SD and flash it? I don't know if CWM will be able to search there or if a certain wipe will format my internal SD.
Help would'be much appreciated.
recent versions of CWM have an option in the zip-flashing menu for flashing from internal storage.
I created a folder named CM in th internal sd and flash everything from there. Just remember the folder and you can moce item with root broswer or directly download there. In my case /mnt/sdcard/cm

I was on stock froyo V10a, anyway after a couples of tries a notification that the sd card was corrupted popped and gave me the option to format it once again, this time it worked.
So solved, thanks guys.
More comments on my new little issue would be much appreciated
Ummm
Hallo...
I've installed 2 different custom ROMs with Stock Kernels by 2 different methods (xRcvry and CWM),
On both ROMs, the SD Card is not detected as if it is unmounted, even though physically it is, and I couldn't mount it even by xRcvry nor CWM..
When I connect the phone to PC, there is no options to connect, or charge, like it usually is.
What have I done wrong..? Can anyone please help me..?
I'd be really grateful.
I tried that multiboot a weeks ago...but my original Rom, the Rom installed to the phone, it mounted my as card...but the problem was the other Rom didn't mounted it.....i couldn't fix it...

No, I didn't make any partitions...Should I..?
I didn't make any, because it's not part of the requirements for installing the custom ROM.
Btw, should the SD card be formatted into different file system, such as FAT, and not FAT32, prior to installing the custom ROM..?
From what I found here , the problem seems to be on the SD card class that we're suppose to use.
Mine is the original, which I believe is, class 2.
Could that be the same case as this...?

use card reader to check the format,,your sdcard must be FAT not NTFS
backup(just copy past all your folders) your sdcard then format it
turn on your phone WITHOUT sdcard..than turn on again WITH sdcard
now look..is it still not detect your sd card ,,

I've tried what you instructed (to format it from FAT32 into FAT), but, it's still unmounted (not detected)
Should I format it back to FAT32..?
What did I do wrong...?
Could it really be the card's class...???
Because, every time I flashed it back to Stock ROM by using SEUS, it always detects it.
I think it's sd card class....try a another card, don't buy a new... Just find a one from a friend or

The title pretty much says it all.
I am currently on CleaNote V6 (LRQ) ROM, which is a TouchWiz ROM, obviously...
I do have an external SD card in the phone. But on TouchWiz, the default SD card (where all data goes to by default, such as games storage data in Android/data etc.) is the internal one. So, on the internal SD card I hold the data for my games (needed, I'd say, since the internal SD card is slightly faster than the external one), and on the external, I have my music, flashables and so on.
On CyanogenMod, MIUI and ParanoidAndroid (which is CM-based, so... shouldn't even mention it ), I've seen that the default SD card is the EXTERNAL one. On one occasion, the internal SD was not accessible at all !
I want to know... Is there any way to change the default SD card from external to internal in non-TW ROMs? And, at the same time, maintain the functionality of the other... (so I can access it with a file explorer whenever I need to)?!
And, vice-versa, to switch the default SD card from internal to external in TouchWiz ROMs.
Thanks in advance!

Yeah... something like that. I'll give it a shot.
I didn't think to search in other device's forums, because I thought it might be different. Now, I believe I should have given it more thought before rushing to post and...
Hmmm..it's a bit confusing
On Asylum CM10, the internal SD is default one !
Even worse, some apps cannot even find external SD, like camera apps.
Fotos and films will be stored on internal SD since there is no choice within the app...
Perhaps I didn't understand you

I didn't try Asylum CM10. I did try Half-Illusion Checkpoint 1 (AOKP JB), Half-Illusion V2 (AOKP ICS), MIUI and CM9, and the external SD was the default one. So I figured it's the same for all non-TW, CM-based ROMs.

Then perhaps each of those 3 ROM's developers switched according to their liking...?
I never tried those three ROMs, though.
Has anyone found a fix for external sd card mounting on Kitkat based roms? Every KK rom I have tried suffers from this error rendering them useless as I cant download anything nor can I install anything...only thing I have managed to do is import vcf file from sd card through file manager and that is all.So if anyone has any solution for this problem please let me know
You should have ExternalStorageProvider.apk in priv-app. Check it if there; try formatting your ext-sd with PC.

Tried that, didn't work.My sd card is in fat32 format @ the moment and I'm on Slimbean 4.3.1 it reads the sd card.I also should say that I have i9070p and I have to replace the tee folder in system/lib everytime I flash a new rom,but I think that it should have the same mount points as the regular i9070 without the p so I don't know why isn't it reading my sdcard on 4.4 roms, but it does read them on older ones, any more suggestions ?

I had problem with TWRP on GB way back (it was not showing), and repartition solved it - so it is not just for that.
Still doesnt work :\ I tried to partition it with minitool partition wizard,fedora20 and cwm still no luck Im on mahdi rom 2.5 @ the moment and my sd is in fat format from fedora disk utility and the same thing happened...I can see it from the settings/memory tab and from file manager and all I can do is import my contacts from there. What these 4 files in the tee folder actually do,and what fs does the kk support? Im running out of ideas why isn't it reading my sd...I should also note that I can see files on my sd card from file manager on kitkat roms, but I can't see files on my internal memory from file manager sdcard0
Try CarbonKitkat. Mine works with that rom, I can do everything with my extsd (sdcard1)
Tee files makes your Gsm signal works and other things that I don't know exactly.
