That's incorrect. I have one in my Xperia TX and recognizes 59gb:

Just bought that one for my TL last night. Even though specs say up to 32 gigs,it seems it can support more. I searched everywhere prior to this thread and came to the conclusion that all xperias can use the 64 gig.

Not true - that's only the case for FAT32.
Stick it in a friend's Galaxy Note or S3 and get them to format it (as EXT3/4) and it works fine all the way up to the data limit.
I'm up to about 41GB in my 64GB card and it is working fine in my Xperia T!
BTW, this was answered weeks ago in a thread in this forum:

Yes, this thread is not needed if he had searched, but i didnt see tha thread, I just checked the specs from the sony site and they say it wont support it.
Which pisses me right off because my new class 10 32gb sd card arrived in the post this morning, if i had have known it supported 64gb i would have got one.
However, fear not, I suspect my wife may get that 32 gb card as an xmas present (As she got a T as well) and I may order myself a shiny new 64gb

Why not just send the 32gb card straight back? Then order the 64gb one.
I'd recommend the SanDisk one that the thread I quoted talks about - that's the one I (and others) have so we know it works.
It might also be worth trying the 64gb card straight in the XT to see if it will format to Ext 3/4 without having to put it in another (e.g. Samsung) phone to get full use of the data. I had a G-Note when I bought the card (which was initially FAT32 formatted) and had to wipe it and then reformat to get it to work, the G-Note just formatted it in the right file system standard.
Oh, and I did the same thing with memory cards on my G-Note but fortunately I have a DSLR camera so my 32gb card got re-purposed for that!

I'm using Adata microSDHC class 10 32GB card.
No problems.
Im using a PNY class 10 16gb and absolutely no problems.
Saying that I bought my card from play.com and thier play.com card got bad reviews with low read/write speeds. It might be an idea to post about a specific brand of card and see what response you get.
can I use microSDHC in my ace???
I am planning to buy Transcend 8gb mircrosdHC class 10 card. Please reply me asap!
I saw your post and was intrigued by your question - I then did the search and found this page.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital
It would seem the microsdHC just refers to the size of cards i.e. from from 4Gb to 32Gb.
Now as to your request - I have used transcend cards in other equipment - notably a JVC HD 1080p camcorder and their sustained write capability is very very good with no drop out with over 240 hours of HD recordings. So brand wise - it is a very good name and IMHO a good rep.
As to your card running ok with the ace - the fact it is a good branded name and a reasonable size but more importantly a class 10 - then in all probability you will not have any problems.
thnx a lot for the info!!
Just placed my order!

I didn't know
I was gessing if the galaxy ace is fast enough to read fast all 32gb of music or it takes kindda long time to read those all mp3's
so it's about memory class?
or it also depends of the cellphone speed?
hi have sandisk 16gb class 4
Somewhere i saw that since our device is not that fast, class 6 card would perform well than a class 10 card. cos it takes time to start the class 10 card even though it has faster speed.
What do you think about Samsung's class 10 32 GB cards?

Just bought an ADATA microSD class 4 32GB.
Speed: 4,3 MB/s WRITE - 16,4 MB/s READ

64gb card
Thank you for your post, I bought the sandisk 64gb card, formated it to fat32 and it works perfectly [in fact its a bit zippier than my previously full 32 gb card which i believe was class 4]. The card was a bit pricey, but well worth it. Thanks again.
i just bought one of these and it works fine in cwm, but is not detected in android, ive tried stock 2.3.4 and leaked ics, neither wants to know of the cards existence.
Solved:, poor formatting on my part.

When I purchased a 64GB Micro SD Card for my phone just before Christmas, it wouldn't work at all - Even when formatted to FAT32.
Its now used in an SD card adapter for my girlfriends Nintendo 3DS... So there's no chance I'm getting that back.
Can you provide the model of the card you purchased? I've got two 32GB cards for my Play currently, Both have exactly the same apps cloned between them but different caches for different games - So I have to swap over every time i want to play a game on the other card lol. xD (Most of the are ROMs mind you...)
Buying know thanks for the tip.
Fat32 can be formatted up to 2tb. That is its maximum

OK... I just got this card and transferred all the data from my 32GB micoSD to the new 64GB microSDXC... and the weird thing is that it is taking up more space on the SDXC than the SD... so I'm guessing that the problem is that it isn't formatted to FAT32... so how do I do that? Using Win7Pro, I don't see an option to format it to FAT32... any ideas?
I formatted this card with the phone but it is also possible to format it with a computer using third party format tools.
And the problem with the data which takes more space from your 64GB card than it took from your 32GB card could be related to the clustersize. Maybe the system chose a bigger size in order to have less effort to deal with the size of the card. However if there are files which are below this clustersize they are always as big as the clustersize. So the data needs more space.
Thanks for the tip I really gotta try this 64gb would practically hold my life lol

My phone has an annoying glitch where I move or delete files on the SD card, and the SD card shows that there's new space after deletion, but when I try to put in a new file, there's no space!
Every couple of months I have to transfer the files I wanna keep to my PC, then format the card to get the lost capacity back. I first noticed it when I tried putting some anime episodes on the card when it showed 2GB free, but then it said the card was full!
The aforementioned glitch only happens when I delete/move files through Android or when the storage is mounted to USB. Never happens when the card is plugged into Windows and being manipulated directly through an adapter instead of the phone.
If you guys transfer a lot of stuff on those cards, I'd suggest getting one of these
I have a red one and it's super handy when you wanna transfer, format etc. Plus it's got a keychain so if you have school, you can keep it on hand.
By using that instead I've avoided the storage issues.

If you don't plan to transfer content to that card with a usb-3 connection and a reader connected directly to the computer, it doesn't have sense to buy it.
The note it is limited to about 15mb transfer rate, so you will be throwing money out of the window.

Do you have a reference for that info? I plan to pickup a note 2 upon US release and was debating on waiting for the new Samsung high speed micro sd cards or going with Sandisk Ultra.
Daniel
You really won't see much of a difference between the Gold and Ultra cards. The important aspect of those cards are the read speeds and it's absolutely overboard for a phone. Save yourself some money and just get the Ultra w/30mb read and you'll be set. No need for anything faster.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, just spend that money on the 64GB version of the Note II. I bet the flash chips they use in the note are just as fast, without the bottleneck of MicroSD connections.

I agree that the internal memory would be superior. The problem is that it is very unlikely 32GB and 64GB models will be available upon US release or even within a few months.

agreed. The Ultra card (30mb/sec) is the absolute fastest card you will need for a phone. You won't even take full advantage of its speed but it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the Gold.
The only thing that will take advantage of write speeds when using the phone is how fast you take pictures and transfer files to the card from a computer. THAT'S IT. And technically even with that you will be limited to around the same speeds as the average USB 2.0 speed which is normally between 10mb-25mb/sec.
Don't waste your money.
The problem is many people just see whats stated on the package, and don't realize that to obtain the stated speed, you need the unit to support UHS I, and at present no phones support it, so the max speed for the card is read 25mb/s and write 24mb/s, which is the standard for micro sdhc and micro sdxc noted as the class 2, 4, 6 and 10.
Got the 64gb uhs I class 10 works fine write 11MB read 38MB second.

It really depends on what model you buy for your needs all manufacturers make slow and fast ones. I agree that Sandisk is overpriced on their MSRP but if you shop around, look for deals & price match you will get high quality for a fair price.

All of them will work.
Maximum speed is utterly dependant on the card. I'm not sure what the theoretical maximum speed the phone could handle, but I'm sure that the card itself will be the limiting factor, not the phone.

Could you run any SD benchmark with your EVO?
I read some reviews on the net and seems that EVO should be more than enough for normal Note 4 operation (recording videos, watching huge fullhd movies from mkv files).

1) Perform a 4K video recording to your SD card.
2) Perform a speed test with any of the test app inside your phone.
Thanks!!
I really have some doubts because this site http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-microsd-card/ says that for 4K recording something faster is needed than EVO.
But on the other hand: 4K recording requires only 6MB/s of sequential writing and EVO can handle up to 19MB/s (at lease every review claims that).
Thanks!!!
So I was lucky enough to get a 128gb MicroSD Sandisk UHS-1 card for Christmas. I will upgrade my 64gb Samsung UHS-1 card, which is very full (80%'ish)
Is there a "better" way to upgrade microsd cards? or simply copy to pc from old card, and transfer from PC to new card... ??
Copy to pc and stick new card in phone format with phone and transfer.

Today I saw this one, which is a Samsung EVO card
Any opinions as to which is better? The Samsung is like $10 more at $109. Worth the hassle of exchanging it and the added cost? (I have not opened the Sandisk yet)
They seem to spec out about the same performance wise...

To be honest I never did that for any phone. It just worked. This phone is suppoesed to Handel 128gb card so it should just work. Let me check specs.

I will be honest. People like the Samsung. I personally think they the same. Back up it stuff of yet cause these cards suck when they get hot or a flash messes with them. The proccesor is right under sd card to the side but gets hot when you record 4k video . Or games

I've had two sandisks die on me in the last year. I'll be buying the Samsung.
Upgraded to 128gb scandisk today and had no issues.

Got my Sandisk 128gb today and having problem with it. All files that are copied to the card are deleted after I reboot the phone. I am using it with Note 4 Canadian version.

You sure you got a real card and not a fake. I would also format the card with phone before first use
Its real Sandisk, I did format using the phone already. I will transfer from pc to micro sd then it will reboot. I tried copying files to phone's storage then move it to external card then same problem after reboot. It is the first version the 30 mb/s 128gb
I got mine from ebey. Samsung 128gb 44.9$

Thats good deal you got there. I reformatted the card to fat32 hopefully that solves it.
My Sandisk 128gb card has been flawless. And it's great having this much space and not having to worry.
