if you want different roms theres always miui or de-sensed just google them cant post links here
The other reason is because a lot of the devs who worked on this phone have move on to the HTC One or SGIII. This phone is over a year old, which is a lifetime in phoneyears, unfortunately.
this badass named mg2195 is deving a cm10 rom ^-^

Woahhh there don't get angry xD It's due to the age (most dev's want the newest and best phone) and also due to the fact that this phone just wasnt that popular...
If its not popular why is the HTC hd2 still getting development and that was launched waaaaay back. And how is this phone hard to dev for???
Sent from my HTC Raider on the Rogers Wireless Network
The phone is just full of shotty hacked up htc code. They just threw together a bit of everything to make it work, which kinda ruined it for everyone wanting to create custom non-sense based roms
Instead of posting multiple threads in here about why there aren't more ROMs, why not go talk to the makers of ROMs such as JellyBro and JellyBam to see if they will support our device, now that we're cm10 official. Or go create your own.

So are there already some developers with the intention of working on this phone?
Anyone planning an AOSP ROM?
It sounds like this phone has great developer potential - if it attracts enough attention it'll probably be my next phone.
If I will get O2X, my main point will be AOSP/CM support, this device NEEDS it...
As you say - this device has potential
I think i might get the phone no matter what. CM supports some of the Nvidia phones so I don't know why he would't add the 2x. Hopefully he does because my N1 power button is about to go and i am really looking forward to this phone.
I'm getting this phone I think....
I'm no dev, but more a supplier of roms and sources
I'd like to get this phone and if I get it, I'll spend my nights trying to get AOSP 2.3 running on it.

+1 on that! My power button just died last Saturday morning in the middle of flashing a ROM. A little scary to say the least. Hope this G2X arrives soon, been waiting since it was first rumored!

I think optimus 2X is the best phone on the market now and it has great development future.
I've moved across from the Desire forums and they're very busy, no doubt due to vast numbers of handsets being out there. The IS section looks fairly quiet in comparison, is that because of low sales on this model, or more the fact that the IS owners don't feel the need to root, mod etc?
it's a weird time right now for android phones....
Older phones are losing devs due to them moving on to newer phones, but there are so many newer phones that are actually good right now so dev support is widespread.
I would say it should pick up after a little while.
.
there is huge dev support for the IS becuase allt he euro devs are using IS and all the american devs are able to use droid incrediable 2's
look at our ROM index and its huge the phones only been out for 6 months (march it came out) and we got sense 2-3.5 being dev'ed on along with CM7 and other osap roms and MIUI

I wouldn't flash a droid 2 rom onto the incredible though, different radios I think which could brick your device
Similar -- one is CDMA/GSM, the others are GSM only. Also, one has operator graffiti on it, the others don't.
This forum is not a high volume forum in my opinion. We have a few roms and a few devs but that's it. Look at the Desire HD forum. More devs, roms, and themes for their roms. Nobody does special themes for the Incredible S roms.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
that other guy was right though, the incredible 2 forum looks a LOT busier
this phone seems to have slipped under most's radar, kind a like the Xperia Arc which is although a sex bomb but has no custom ROMs.
It's bc the roms we have do everything we need.
Sense? Go with revolution.
Sense 3? Do the add on for rev or use the less stable pyramid ports
Aosp? Miui and cm7 and other stock roms like rev no sense.
What else? It may seem less busy bc the progress was made on other devices then ported over.
Ie the desire hd, mytouch 4G, inspire, thunderbolt, etc etc etc have the same specs just different outside bodies.
So while its not bustling with chatter, its still good. Just my .02
I guess many users went for the DualCore phones, like the Sensation, LG Optimus and Galaxy S 2, that came out just after the IncS.
But there is still a lot of development for the IncS and som very skilled users/dev's in here ;-)
It is a very quiet forum for developing. Maybe because it was released when dual core phones were starting to kick off. So it ended up being a kinda meh device. I wish I still had my desire z but HTC stopped making it :/

First! !! Can't wait for this thread to get going just got this phone
Love this phone, kinda like a 2 dollar....well you know!
got the Vivid at lunch today, very nice phone.
since 2007 this is my 3rd smartphone. HTC Tilt, HTC Aria, and now the HTC Vivid.
see a theme? NO IPHONE!!
I was dual booting the tilt with windows mobile 6.5 and Android 2.1 before getting the Aria. I rooted the Aria and was loading the Cyanogen mod nightlies.
I can't wait to get this phone rooted and hopefully Cyanogen will pick it up too.
I bought a Vivid yesterday, and am liking it. It adds up to be my 6th HTC phone:
Cingular 8125
Cingular 8525
HTC HD2
HTC Evo 4G
HTC Inspire 4G
HTC Vivid
Looking forward to rooting & installing custom ROMs

Can't speak for CD, but the BinDroid team has already begun working on the ROM for Vivid. Once we get root we will test it out and then release to the forum. You can head over to the DHD or Inspire forums to see what BD looks like.
Im curious as to whether the Skyrocket or the Vivid will have more developement. Seems the Vivid is going slower than the skyrocket. Not a fan of the hardware for the vivid. Seems heavy and clunky. I think the skyrocket has a much better feel and touch to it.

Oh man! I am so pumped for this. I have been running Rootbox AOSP, and it has it's slight quirks and random animations that are stuttery, so it's gonna be awesome messing around with a perfect version of AOSP pretty soon here. Someone needs to release the RUU already
This is going to be amazing. I can't wait to start tinkering
stuff like zoe and beats wouldn't be ported over amirite?
I sincerely hope that within a week's time, we'll see the first major steps taken in the direction of a solidified, fully-functional build for Sprint's HTC One. Granted, things like CM 10.1 have nightlies, but sadly; not an official stable release in-sight for us.
That being said, perhaps the system dumps provided by GPE owners will significantly help steering these ROMs in the right direction.
It would still be fantastic if Sprint (and I suppose HTC in-partial) would quickly prepare the 4.2.2 w/ Sense 5 update for us.

From what I have gathered, beats will be a function you can turn off and on. I don't imagine Zoe will be there because that is a big time sense thing. And I think beats audio will likely not have the beats logo when it is running.
Keep in mind this isn't meant to be a hybrid HTC/Google device. It is a Google device. I'm sure they will implement the better sound, and some more root code stuff, but not as much on the front end / UI
From the looks of any of this I wouldn't get your hopes up for this "helping" anything. AOSP builds are already available. Until Sprint and HTC update Sense to 4.2.2 we will still be in limbo.

Zoe is not there, but Beats is in the AOSP build on the HTC One GPe.
All I wish for is that they port the beats audio to our Aosp roms. Will make they audio so much better.

Damn, was finally about to buy a One today, but this has me intrigued, since all I've used for years is AOSP ROMs. On that note, are people pretty satisfied with this device? My EVO 4G LTE just drowned the other day so I paid my ETF and bought the One from Radio Shack, it's going to be delivered tomorrow. I was wondering if the fact that HTC was releasing a One with stock android would significantly speed up development on AOSP roms for the Sprint version of the phone. I was also wondering if there will likely be proprietary code for the GPE of the phone that developers here wouldn't be able to use in their AOSP builds. I love stock Android and I've used CM on all my Android phones at one time or another but there always seems to be random nagging issues that eventually push me back to Sense. I guess my question is will the software for the GPE One really help solidify and speed up development of AOSP roms for Sprint's version of the phone.

I believe you will see the GPe ROM ported to the Sprint One, but I don't know if it'll affect development by CM/AOKP/PA etc. There is still a lot of proprietary software in the GPe. That is, stuff devs can't use.
Having already bricked my phone trying to put Revolution HD on it, (no sprint support) I thought I'd ask what people are currently running and their opinions. Most of the roms in our Development section are mostly graphical changes it seems, and lighter versions of cleanROM.
Are there any roms that are really popular for us poor Sprint customers?
I've run OMJ's, Mack's Dark Horse and settled on d3rp. Love the mobile commander and bareback options.
I feel like we have plenty of options, don't feel left out at all.

I agree with the general sentiment, but if you want variety, have a go at the Original Development section. AOSP ROMs for this device are certainly out and about-- I didn't mind my experience with it (besides the then-prevalent sleep of death "bug").
Go to Sprint HTC One Android Development
Now go look at the views and mainly "replies" to each rom. That will give you a general idea of the favored roms. The method I use when getting a new phone or when a friend or family member comes over with a new phone and wanting a rom installed
