I9000 bricked just by freeze during normal operation - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I have i9000, i think i felt into a bug, some rare bug, flashed to much phones with any kind of problem in my life and never seen that one.
The phone was with stock 2.3 rom root and speedmod for one year (since last flash)
And everything was fine till 5 days ago, the phone just freeze took out battery and inserted, powered and from there the phone is dead, just have the i9000 samsung boot logo and bootloop.
Tried odin to update stock stock kernel and bl
odin success but still the same
Tried odin with repartition using s1 512. PIT
Tried darky odin latest rom - the same
I can access recovery
Unable to format system partition and dalvik cache , in both the recovery freeze.
On any rom stock on any kernel
Tried applying rfs files separatly using tars nothing.
I think the partitions are infected AND I NEED SOMETHING THAT REFORMAT THE WHOLE PHONE HARD
I saw in other samsungs that someone made PIT that repartition the whole nand and solved problem - but he said its not possible to do the same on i9000
Any suggest? PLEASE HELP ME GET OUT FROM THIS.TROUBLE

Does adb recognize your phone when you plug it while in recovery mode?

Try a rescue kit or recovery tool from My Android Collections and or a solution from My Android Solutions
Need a guide, look into My Guides and Manuals
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card, after flashing and reboot , insert them back
Tips before Flashing:-
Backup all your important files, contacts, SMS, game data, images etc to PC or Ext SD card. or make Nanadroid Backup If you have CWM
Backup your EFS Folder to PC or Ext SD card
Enable USB Debugging on Phone. Touch menu> Settings> Applications> Development>
Charge your battery to more than 50% before you attempt any sort of flashing.
Disable Samsung KIES when using Odin. Kill Kies.exe, KiesTrayAgent.exe, & KiesPDLR.exe using Task Manager on PC
Use only ROM and solution for your model and Wipe x3

Thanks will try

[Q] Bootloop problem - no way to enter recovery

Hi,
I was runing CM10 with Semaphore 2.3.0 kernel and decided to do backup. At the moment I had 20% of the battery and unfortunately, I've stopped backup process.
The problem is that phone is stuck in bootloop, doesn't want to enter recovery console with powerup+home+power but I can enter Download mode with powerdown+home+power.
What should I do?
Please help!
Download Odin and download an official firmware from sammobile.com.
Then flash it through Odin.
just use Google if u don't know how to do it.

First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing.
This alone could have solved your problem, if it did not, try a solution from My Android Solutions

[Q] Stuck at bootimage, comp finds it, only at downloadmode

Hi, today my phone crashed like hell and i decided to restart it. But first i got the bootloop problem. But after a few restarts the phone just started to boot up in the boot screen where it only says: Samsung Galaxy i9000 etc. My computer still recognizes the phone but only in downloadmode. I am using the Cyanogenmod 7.1, 2.3.7
Please help!
And sorry for my bad english. it's my second languade..
First, just try another ROM.
If that doesn't work, then do a factory reset and then try it.
If you are not able to boot to recovery, then download Odin, an official firmware from sammobile.com, and flash it through download mode. I am going to sleep,so Google it if u don't know how to flash through odin!

Thank you so much mate everything works great.
I use this thread...
I have a very big problem here !!!
I merged 2 i9000 broken in one that i think would work ... (one was only broken the screen, i use then it's mainboard on one that have the screen working)
It turn on, but remains the i9000 logo fixed and go in bootloop, I can only get into download mode and not in recovery.
Thinking it was a problem of bootloader/kernel/rom, I tried to flash anything:
JVT rom with bootloader
only kernel
Ezboot
SBL
JIG
etc .....
but no success, stuck on i9000 logo and no recovery mode.
any suggestions?
sorry for my bad english, Please help meeee ! :crying:

I assume you have you looked at the various solutions in My Android Solutions
since you have merged this to work, is it possible the motherboard had problems, did you try switching motherboard.
Most of all, I need to see the booting log, as to what are the errors, you are getting to understand as to why its not working ...hope you can post especially anything that is appearing in red

Galaxy S bricked with Kies

I am new to Samsung.

I DON'T ROOT IT AND I HAVEN'T GOT THE Clockworkmod.

All you need to do is reconnect it back to KIES and use the recovery in KIES to solve it or use this
on the other hand you are still in download mode and can connect with ODin to flash the ROM for your region or use a rescue ROM from My Android Collections
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card, after flashing and reboot , insert them back

[Q] Have I bricked my Note? What can I do?

My note was working fine on a stock rooted 4.1.2 rom and root kernel with Philz touch 5 recovery until this morning it suddenly froze. I left it for a minute to see if it would do anything, but it stayed frozen. I took the battery out and put it back in. It showed the boot logo, moved onto the "Samsung" animated screen but then froze right at the end of this screen, and started booting again and continued to do this forever.
I've tried formatting everything and flashing new kernels and roms in the recovery to no avail.
I can still boot into download mode and recovery fortunately.
I don't need root or anything, I just want a working phone as fast as possible. I don't need to keep any of my files either.
Any ideas on what I can do?
Cheers
Try clearing cache and dalvik cache first, this will preserve all your data. If that doesn't work, do a factory wipe from recovery, this will however result in all your data being lost. Of it still doesn't work, then I suggest a full reflash of a stock ROM using Odin.

If i am correct u should br on a loop.... saved myself from that by:
1)install odin in ur pc
2)put ur phone in download mode (power+volume down+home)
3)press volume up
4)once animation comes up connect ur phone to odin.it will automatically detect ur device.
5)put the proper kernels or md5 files in the correct colums
6) follow wat odin sez after that. Ur device wud be working fine

Thanks for the reply; unfortunately already tried AOTA to no avail
I suspect that the issue is to do with bad blocks in my phone's flash memory, it always fails right at the same place on "hidden.img".
I could try partitioning the memory so that it ignores the bad blocks in that area, but I'm not that good at that stuff
Does anyone have a PIT file for this please?
Cheers,
Luke
