Hi all,
Has anyone managed to get the Jellybean 4.2 PhotoSphere camera to work for our device?
Here's the link:

No
On CM 10
Sent from my A99 using xda app-developers app
no luck
camera opens for a second
gallery force closes.
I feel we are just near the working jelly bean camera
not sure weather we can see camera in JB before we upgrade the hardware
Hi,
For me, The still camera and panorama mode works fine.
But The Photosphere FCs. As does the gallery edit mode.

IceColdSandwich 8.7 + Abenagiels kernel.
Photo sphere needs a gyroscope to work so it would work only if you have one.
Even having a gyroscope doesn't guarantee it but it's a pre requisite

Hi Adity,
Thanx for the heads up.
Our phone doesn't have gyroscope, I think.
So photosphere will not work, correct?

(IceColdSandwich 8.7 + Abenagiels kernel)
no gyroscope? that couldn't be....
well... tried it on cm9 nightly... camera opens, shows for a sec, then FC
the gallery works well for viewing photos, but no luck editing it... FC too
This phone doesn't have a gyroscope. You can check for this using this market app- Android Sensor Box.

Hello all.
Did somebody came up yet with a better solution than Camera Zoom FX (can be paid)?
It could be nice to have something like FX, but with touch to focus, sharpness options and some video recorder (as a seperate app) which could do 720p (?)
PS. Is it just me, or is there barely any difference compared HTC 5 and 8 mpx cameras?
I mean, look at these http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire-review-468p9.php
try these
am using UCam ultra which is working fine with more light spaces. where as in less light you will be seeing blurred or some dark pixels...
you can go for multi lens camera also. its different and funny
Thanks, will look at it.
Miui gb camera. You'll have to trouble shoot to get it working properly, but after that picture clarity is on par with HTC sense's camera.

Also Camera 360 is not bad either. A lot of options and good (I think) quality.
Still, in low light the pictures are quite bad, but I think that is a problem of the phone, not the camera app (I have tried several, the same result).
I use camera pro app. Works flawless

I thing best camera app. - stock! But alternative - lgcamera.
In my opinion the "UCam-App" is the best

For some reasons, for all of apps above, there are glitches issue.
Ucam seems awesome, clean interface, useful features. Too bad it doensn't work, it restart right after I taken picture of it.
I think it's a kernel issue if Ucam is force closing.'Cause the app "use" the stock camera to take pictures. And if you're stock camera is buggy, a 3rd app wouldn't work. Tell me if i'm wrong

I get Ucam v2.3 force close only on Lord's IceCold. But works very good with Ucam v1.6.
JellyBean MIUI ROM ported for DHD has properly working touch to focus function with what seems to be the stock AOSP camera... It's a shame tho this ROM has many visual bugs, and using any other app that uses camera (instagram, barcode scanners..) is almost impossible as they give huge artifacts...
The question is, is it possible to somehow port camera used in MIUI JB ROM to AOSP ROMS and not f&^* up qcode scanners?

Can you upload it please?
hotfile mirror takes for ever to download (limit reached).
Uhm it's like in the first google search result for ucam 1.1.6. ....
Uhm... I'am surprised i missed that
Been digging to deep i suppose ;D
I'm using Camera Zoom FX for about a year, haven't found the better one with at least the same speed.
I really enjoy using camera360

The camera of my 2x is very blurry if the object is very close. Focus doesn't work, it only get's red. Barcode scanning for example is impossible...
I tried several camera apps and some camera mods, but without success. So I don't think the camera app causes the error.
The front camera works well! Is it possible to patch the main camera?
Thank you for your help!!

Say us about your setup. This is modding forum so i think, that you might have your own set up.
Hi!
I'm running Gueste 3.6 ROM, it's based on CM7. I use the standard LG camera app as well as the app from cyanogen.
It doesn't matter which app I use, if I take a picture from close it is blurry. Autofocus doesn't work too.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using xda app-developers app
I have the modded CM7 camera by Stefan I think. Its on the first page of Temasek CM7.
So I have the sane problem too. The only way I can manage close up pictures is by using manual focus and then adjusting from there.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using xda app-developers app
Manual focus doesn't work too. Maybe it's a problem with camera driver? Is there something like a driver in android?
A friend has the same device and same baseband and same rom, he has no problems at all... I don't understand that...

Quit the battery case ^^

I cleaned the case and the protection glass. Photos shot without battery case are blurry too.

hi guys..
i was using cm10 and really liked the touch to focus option in the camera. but because of the bugs present i had to go back to gingerbread and now i miss the touch to focus option. so do any of you know a camera app that have the touch to focus option on gingerbread? i did some research and it seems like very few phones have this option with gingerbread. any help welcome!
afaik, in stock gingerbread camera app already has that feature
for 3rd party app, camera360 app has it
press and hold the area you want to focus, in stock LG gingerbread camera app
Fotor. A great camera app! I use it more than any stock camera app.
Posted from my Optimus Black w/ CM10 (Dark Mod 0.3)
thanks for replies guys. i tried the camera360 and fotor..but the focus does not work the way it does in cm10. the best ive found is camera fv-5.
camera ics from playstore has touch to focus

Oops...sorry didn't know!
Interesting, I have Zeus 7.03 (gingerbread) and I can touch focus with CameraPro application.
No, touch to focus is also available on gingerbread stock camera. To activate, touch and hold the area you want to focus in the viewfinder

As http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1966302
I put those in JB_MINI_Project ROM, some works, but camera had FC.
Pls someone can make Photosphere work.
Did X8 developers don't interest in this new cool photosphere?
This new JB4.2 function is really cool, isn't it?
Can or can't X8 work fine?
This camera requires a gyro sensor which the x8 doesnt have. So you can forget it
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
No "gyro sensor" no photosphere
It's sad to hear that.
So that, thanks, I understanded.
Hello,
I'm new on these forums and my English is't wonderfull, sorry for that.
I got a HTC Desire c Rooted and with CM10, NOPE Kernel. My problem is the camera, I don't like the stock android camera with the grey box. So I searched for APK-files and found some good ones(Google camera, the on with the blue button).
It all worked fine but when I try to take a picture of a face it Force Closes itself.
This is with all the files I tried. there is also no option to disable face recognisation.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm running Andoid 4.1.2
Thanks
You can use Cyanogenmod 10.1 camera apk.it is not boxed but you can only have 3 mp cam

Hi,
I'm using cm10.0 with 4.1.2 But that camera is for 4.2
Is that a problem or not?
---------EDIT------
So, I flashed tjhe cm 10.1 camera. It runs but when I try to snap a picture of a face it force closes
Isn't there a fix for this? or is this something else like missing files on my phone.

What do you mean?
The stock camera isn't causing the problem. It is just ugly XD
It is with all the cameras I tried but they all FC when I try to take a picture of a face.
Could this be a missing or broken Face detection module?
Is this fixable?
I'm using another camera (camera zoom fx) but I prefer the minimalistic one with the blue dot (KitKat I think)
Julian
I know.... It is sort of ugly, but since it works, I use it.
