Hi everyone,
I think that this problem maybe a bug, many users have the same problem.
Who do i report this problem?
Hi there, looking for some info/help with connecting a htc mda compact iv as a wifi router to a laptop (or desktop) but through a wifi bridge such as the OpenMedia VAP11G.
I can set up the HTC to act as a wifi router (through to o2) when I use my laptops built in wifi system but if I switch this off and plug in a wifi bridge the bridge does not detect the HTC phone.
Is this a software or hardware problem? If it is a hardware problem does anyone know a wifi bridge that will detect the htc phone?
Note that according to the htc phone set up this is wep and according to the wifi bridge manual it works with wep.
Above is for a experiment with a wifi bridge connected to a dreambox communicating to internet through the htc phone but need to get the bridge to recognise the htc first.
Thanks for any replies.

Hello everyone!
Joikuspot is s tool for making your phones into a hotspot and connect another device with the internet via WiFi trough the phone.
Does anyone try to do that with Gtablet?
I've tried that with Nokia 5800. My laptop works with that well but my Gtablet can't connect with the phone because Gtablet can’t find it.
Please advise which problem there can be?
Thanks
I use JoikuSpot from a Nokia n900. Have you setup adhoc wifi on the Gtab (or use one of the ROMs that do this)?
gtab with nokia 5800 wifi
Could not get the gtab to connection to joikuspot 2.2 until I installed TnT 4.4
I found out that problem in missing ad hoc network. I don't have it. Which soft do you use for ad hoc network simulating? Or what?
I use it on my Nokia E7. The tablet finds it just fine.
whats that app? can i download it in the market?
Thanks in advance.
There are detailed posts and instructions here for connectivity for my NC via tethering.
I thought I'd ask the opinions from users who've tried both techniques for connectivity via their cell phone.
I'm using a rooted Droid X, running Barnacle to create an adhoc wifi hotspot for use with my laptop already.
I'd like to be able to use my NC (CM7) by connecting through my phone as well.
The adhoc technique looks good, but the sleep issues and others make it appear a bit tricky.
BT sounds easier, but it looks like a very short connection range.
Opinions as to which you prefer?
Garrett
Use this one __connectify.me (sorry i cant post link yet)
It make a vitural wifi with wpa2 network (not ad-hoc). It works so good that even my kindle can connect to internet through it.
Is this an app for my Droid X, or the NC?
Thanks!
Garrett
Neither. It's for PC.
I have a Kindle Fire HD 2nd gen. I'm trying to share the data from my smartphone over Bluetooth so I can get on the internet with the Fire when away from WiFi range, but I can't get it to work for some reason. This works perfectly between smartphones.
Both devices are paired and the smartphone says the connection is shared but when I load Silk, it says "Connected no media". I've tried Firefox mobile just to rule out Silk, but I get the same error message. Can anyone offer advice please?
