There must be an app called usb switcher in rr v12 use to make your connection mass storage.. if it ain't there type usb switcher in play store and download the 1st app that comes up

Thanks
I will try it tomorrow, because the laptop is in the room of my mother and she is sleeping already

I've tried it. It doesn't work
I have installed the app, changed to mass storage and rebooted. Debugging is deactivated.
I recognized that the Battery is charging although the device isnt connected anyways??
It is changing all the time in Charging -> Discharging -> Charging... Wtf? :what:

Time to do a search on cleaning your usb port.

I had similar the other day, read the forums and it turned out that I had set a pattern unlock password which had corrupted the security credentials. I reset to no password and deleted stored credentials in the security settings and both USB mtp and mass storage started working again. I then rest up my lock screen password and all is now working.

Thank you very much!
I have disabled all the security settings and deleted all certificates.
But what can I do with my battery which is charging without any cables?

I too have nearly same problem, but atleast battery/charging is behaving well. Only no mtp/mass storage..
You can try -
1. Going back to stock rom and stock kernel using mobile odin
2. Mount usb storage from CWM recovery -> mounts and storage and then connect to PC
3. Clean the USB using qtip or a screwdriver wrapped in cotton properly
4. Try dialling *#7284*, if some menu happens, in the lower section there'll be 2 options, change to modem and come back to PDA
5. Change cables,
6. Change computers,
7. Try download mode, see if ODIN recognizes your phone in download mode. (If it does, there's no apparent hardware damage)
Last - Service center is your only hope (uninstall supersu, busybox, cwm and go back to stock before giving there - there is every chance of them replacing the motherboard after they look for your root business )

Originally, it will not show... it will show as MTP. So if u are rooted which I presume u are, then download USB Switcher from the Play Store. It is a very simple app. Change it from MTP to Mass Storage, reboot. Now if you connect your phone to your laptop, it will give you the option to access your SD card from your laptop. I hope this solves your problem.

Sorry. I didnt read you said this method failed. Sorry!

Thanks to all of you!
After I have disabled all security settings, and switched to mass-storage-mode, my laptop is showing me all datas in the sd-card.
Thanks again.
But what can I do because of the battery?

Screen broken, how to get data from phone memory?? (Galaxy S i9000)

Hello guys,
the screen from my galaxy s i9000 is broken.
I think the phone is still working because i can hear the boot sound etc..
I need the data from my phone but cant turn on the usb mode without seeing something on the screen.
When i plug it into my pc the usb sound plays but the mass storage wont show up because i cant turn on usb mode...
Im on custom firmware with CWM..
Any ideas how to get my data without replacing the screen??
thanks in advance
Boot to CWM, plugin USB cable, fire up ADB, use it to pull your files from the phone.
Sorry, I don't have now time to explain it thoroughly, but you should be able to find some ADB tutorials from this forum.

Which rom you were using?
If using any custom rom then read how to use adb and you may pull the data using it.

what happens to the phone when you press the <vol down+pwr+home> for a while? can u see the galaxy note n7000 logo
no i cant see nothing the screen is just black with no sound nor vibration
We're you rooted? Can you please on entropy about this, he's looking for cases like this to report to Samsung to prove to them of issues with stock kernel. It does look like you're super bricked. Last thing to try is leave it charging overnight, pull battery, reinsert and try download mode again.

probably bricked note, what to do?

had stock rom 4.04 XXLRB, than i wanted to root using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
here i saw this :
Using CWM.zip (temporary/Touch recovery)method to root is said to be unsafe by entropy, and till safe release don't use it
Read This http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1810954 and i clicked on last link and via Odin installed CF Root kernel CF-Root-SGN_XX_DBT_LRQ-v5.6-CWM5.zip , i done that and later install TriangleAway v1.95.
Than wanted to install ROM LiquidSmooth » JellyBean RC 3 » 29th Sept, and i wanted to do via CWM mode, and all goes good untill i saw on display : Erasing the system.....i wasnt near phone 1 minutes and display was black/turned off. I aited some 20 minutes, and nothing. Than i decided to try to turn on, nothing, dead. I leave battery out for some time, put back battery....nothing happened. PC cant see phone via USB.
I guess this is hard bricked phone or maybe not. I googled for solution, nothing. Maybe someone have expirience how to fix this?
put the phone in download mode by pressing vol down +power +home

Press vol down, power house 20 seconds, Vol up later. Connect your phone to your computer and see if the phone detects PCOdin.
If it detects three file upload stock ROM GB.
tried all that, nothing happened. Battery is charging when i connect charger, i can feel phone is hot.
still dead
PC Odin does not see your phone? And the computer when connected to the phone seems a sound?
odin cant see my phone, no sound when connecting phone to PC via USB
You probably do not have the Samsung drivers installed on your computer.
Download Kies network and install the drivers off Kies. Start Odin and try again later steps in my first message. Do not worry about the black phone screen. It is important that Odin saw the phone
he installed cf root kernel via Odin so drivers should be there right?

yes, installed via Odin cf root kernel
Yes same thing happened to me but i landed in a soft brick. It says erasing system and self restarts the phone after which i was stuck at samsung boot logo. I was on stock rom, rooted it, install hydracore kernel, flash cm10 then i flashed liquid smooth. But during flashing some symbol art appear with a message system erasing and then it restarted.

AW: phone totaly undetectabld by pc
@mightyillidan: So maybe your USB port is broken or Idk.
@shlomib
Maybe its a bootloop so try first to wipe. If this don't work you have to flash a new rom, you can put one on your sd with: mounts and storsge --> Mount USB
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
assuming that u have the driver for the laptop to detect ur phone, it might be a problem with the usb cable.
u might want to unmount ur sd card while trying to connect
Seems like a hw problem, but just to be sure, you may want to check on Linux.

There is someone who faced the same prob. And failed after many trials like you. Finally he got it work just by making full wipe. Who know.. May that help
First make a backup of your stuff and program by titanium then do full wipe and flash your ROM
Wipe steps
1-wipe data/factory reset
2-wipe cach
3-go advanced and wipe delvik cach
4-format system from mount/storage

Forcing fast charging is an option in custom ROMs allowing your phone to detect a computer as a wall charger. This will allow faster charging (when connected to a computer) but also disable using your USB connection for data.
If your ROM has the option, it's probably somewhere hidden in some advanced settings, probably something ROM-specific. I don't have an I9000 but for the I9001 on CM10 we have an option "Advanced" under the settings where there is an option to enable/disable this. Try looking around in your settings, maybe you missed it or you could install an app for it... If the problem is related to this option, it could help you. (Example app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nz.org.winters.android.gnfastcharge)
For clarity, I didn't mean turning off your phone, but rather the option to force fast charging
There are loads of topics popping up lately where everyone has this same problem, you should definitely take a look there too, perhaps there's something that can help you!
