Leather Case

Ordered a leather case of ebay for £8.99 its basic but i do think its better than the cloth one you get with it

Ah very nice. I would interested in a write up of your opinion and images with the Streak in the case when you get it, if not too much trouble.
I need to purchase one pretty soon if the US release indeed is July 14th.

BAD EXPERIENCE with the seller.
I order this one on 22/6, havent received it. I sent a couple of email to the seller, and wanted to return the item if he had not sent it yet. He just closed my return case and reported to ebay that he dealt with me through email, the thing he never did.
I will wait a couple of day more before opening a dispute through paypal and report to ebay

The one listed above? The case isnt available until the 3rd July (as its says in the listing) so you wouldn't have got it. Since the 3rd was Saturday id have expected delivery about Wednesday this week.

I purchased the case on 22/6 which saved it was available on 23/6, he also marked it as despatched on that day. That's why I am so upset right now with the seller attitude

I ordered one of the super trader ones yesterday, its just been shipped, should be here in the morning.
Guess it will take up a bit less space than the oakley hard case I've been using to transport the streak this weekend..

especially the HD2 forum, some people weren't that impressed with them
I'm presuming Noreve will come out with a case at some point for the streak, their cases are really good, I've been really happy with my Hd2 one.

My HD2 easecase is really nice. It fits perfectly and is well made. Id say the leather isnt high end quality, and does look fake, but its been durable.
Ive seen some of those so call high end cases that cost £50+ and frankly they look like rubbish. Good leather, but not so well made or fitting.

I think you have given him more than enough time. REPORT before he skips town !!

I got my case from superetrader, via the ebay store, the link above this morning having ordered it over the weekend.
I suggest dropping them a line via their online shop, they have been pretty responsive in the past. I've never had an issue with them
Anyway the case isn't too bad, theres a recess for the streak and a cover held in place with two magnets. Not certain what effect those magnets will have on the screen or the compass. But we'll see..
Its not a tight fit, with the cover open, so it's pretty easy to get the streak out. It's a pity the internal compartment isn't see through so you can see the screen without moving it from the case. But overall it should do the job of protecting it while its in my bag.

Mine was here in about 3 days, you can tell there are not many cases on ebay because he has sold 140 of them.

For me personally, I think the flap would be very bothersome. I would prefer just a simple slide out.

couldnt agree more. i would LOVE a simple slide out holster type case. had a blackberry 800something few years back and they case that came with was a very simple slide case. id love to see something like that for streak. infact when my case arrives i might see if its possible to take the flap off

belt clip is held on buy a stud so should be able to take it off but i wanted one on
it fits in my pocket OK but would fit better with no belt clip
the flap has two magnets on it and no it does not bother me i dare say in a few months ebay will be full of accessories
The flap is big but i do think it makes the pouch more damage proof if you know what i mean

Case Review: REVEAL by Griffin Technologies

I've been on the hunt for a really slim, lightweight case for my Incredible. I have the white HTC battery cover, so I was hoping for something like the iPhone "bumper" cases that allow the back to show through. Since there doesn't seem to be much in that department, I went hunting for the closest thing: the REVEAL by Griffin Technologies.
I really really like it, and couldn't find any other discussion of it, so I did a quick video review, and also took some close-up photos. I promise this isn't an ad, I actually do love this case!
Griffin sells it for $24.99, but you might be able to find it cheaper somewhere else.

I can't really find it anywhere except griffin and bestbuy. I found one for $17.99 from one place but it had terrible sales reviews and I didn't want to risk it.

You just sold me on this so hard. Buying right now. Looks amazing with the white back, I can't wait to show it off finally, haha.

Nice review I was in the market for a case earlier in January but I got one before I saw your review. Then again, maybe if I had a cool white battery cover it'd look cooler. I still have the stock black one.

sides are flexable... real solid feeling and slim.. the buttons are easily pressed..by far the best case ive owned..I have the SPECK, otterbox commuter, and various "slim" fit cases and this case surpasses them by far...my case shopping days are over.

[Open Thread] Thoughts On Otterbox Case For EVO Shift 4G

So I just wanted to start a thread for myself and anyone else who may want to read it
Basically anyone who has an otterbox case for the evo shift or has seen/used it or whatever just leave your opinions/reviews whatever. I am thinking of buying one so just wondering

I don't have one for the Shift but I've used an Otterbox on other devices and would recommend it if you have the slightest fear of damaging your handset.
I believe the last one I used was a Commuter which completely encased the handset and seemed to be able to take a hit. The back was too smooth for me so I had a little trouble re-learning how to hold it and the thickness of the handset increased significantly but overall it felt safe. Worth the extra money.

I am using the otterbox commuter case on my shift right now. I like it a lot. The fit and finish seems like it is completely a part of the phone. Only two complaints are:
1. If I try to move an icon from one hone screen to another, the piece covering the screen makes it difficult to move it to the "edge" - not a big deal, you learn to adjust.
2. When opening the slider, I hear a click sound, sounding like the little tabs holding the upper piece on are catching as it moves. Again, kinda not picky.
All in all, I think it is a great case and makes me worry a lot less about dropping my device. I would definitely recommend it.

Awesome seems like ill want to pick it up. I recently cracked the screen on my shift and made a few scuff marks so that's what seriously turned me to getting the case.

Tip for putting on the included screen protector...patience and a clean work surface! I couldn't get it to work well at first, then I ended up dropping it on the carpet. I was ready to give up on it until my wife took it from me and got it to work. So...if you have the patience of an ADHD kid on meth like I do...lol. It was my first screen protector too so. Anyways have fun!

definitely worth getting. i have the commuter series otterbox and it makes my phone look and feel like a beast. only thing that annoys me sometimes is the dust/lint that gets stuck to the rubber on the case, but i just blow it off.

I haven't had a problem opening the slider at all.
I have one and love it! Top of the line case, looks good feels good and protects good! I would totally recommend it to anyone with a Shift!..

I use it on my shift, and have had them on two other phones. Like everyone else said, its a great case, and really does look like a part of the phone.

I'm now on my second otterbox after a free factory replacement, my only nit pics are the usb port cover doesn't stay closed, and it clicks everytime I open it, feels like one of the clips is catching....

Just got the Commuter series and I'm a fan so far. Makes the phone feel more substantial and gives a better grip. The only issue was with the headphone and USB port covers, which didn't stay down. I just removed them, but DON'T Rip them off, it'll tear the rubber casing. Found that out on the USB port one so I cut the headphone one off. Either way makes the rubber a little loose around the port but not hugely annoying unless you're a perfectionist(which I can be). I'll just apply a little glue and seat it on the plastic frame.

Its almost inpossible without breaking the case. I broke one of the clips in the process..... thank goodness for a warranty!

Nope I can confirm that, being really careful you can take the back without any problem..
I Think that the front parts being hard to take off it's a good thing.

Had mine for 2 or 3 months now
Bought it from Amazon for like $25 when they finally came available for the shift and had to wait a month before I got it in hand.
I'm not as impressed as i would be with the protection if it was a defender case. I had the black case with fake carbon fiber and belt clip before. The otterbox commuter is better then that one, by how much I'm not sure.
I dropped my phone about a month ago. I don't know if it just hit the right place of the case, and the back case came flying off the phone, the side clips where busted off, so the back case would not stay on any more.
I decided to call up otterbox and see if it was under warr. and if they would replace it. AMAZINGLY they said YES so they shipped me a new one for free i didn't even have to pay shipping. NICE. It was quick and easy I thought that was soooo cool. Because of that i will continue to buy otterbox, and recommend them to others.
In future i hope to buy defender cases (better protection) which means no more slider phones which i think i am ready for now that touch screens are so much better. All my old phones have been sliders with full keyboards from back in the day with my old HTC t-mobile MDA, which made me find this site.

[Q] Best Case for HD2

Can anyone tell me what the best case would be for my HD2, besides an otterbox?
I have the US version of the phone which is longer than the European..
And I have searched everywhere, and I am pretty sure that I read that they stopped making otterboxes for these because everywhere is sold out (I can't even find any on Ebay or Amazon!).
I had my phone for a week and it fell out of my pocket onto my driveway and the screen cracked like a spider web.. So now I have to spend about $150 to get the screen replaced, and I am not willing to do so unless I can get a secure case for it..
Any suggestions?

This should probably be in the 'HD2 Accessories' section, you'll get more info there I guess. I personally use the leather HTC pouch which came free with my phone, and it works extremely well! I've had the phone for a year and not a single scratch on it even though it's constantly in contact with my keys and stuff.

But those leather cases are more like pouches, right? As in, you still have to pull the phone out to use it, and its more of just a carrying case?

Oh right, yeah they are but I personally don't find it much trouble. I think there may be one which is more like the otterbox one as well (by HTC) so try it, the leather gives a nice high quality feeling

The Otterbox Defender is a good case, as long as you don't need to get the phone in and out of the case.
It is two pieces, a silicone rubber case, then a hard plastic shell. If you need to change the battery or reboot the phone by pulling the battery, there is a good chance the plastic shell will split or break.
I've been through two of those cases. The first one Otterbox customer service (very nice FWIW) sent me a new one under warranty. After the second one cracked I just didn't bother. Even cracked it protects the phone pretty well.
There just aren't that many cases for the HD2 since every other day HTC comes out with a new phone.

I prefer to take the phone out for use. I've had the HD2 since release and always go back to the original case as supplied with the HD2:

Boxwave corsa moda case are next best to otterbox, i'm using one.for Tmous hd2 ,you can get it for $19 they have two type of case,book type & flip type,I'm using the flip type..hope it helps

I've come across them on ebay every once in awhile but your right, they can be very hard to find even on other websites as well. And then most of the times when you do find them its for the international model which i believe wont fit the US version. I've had some luck with other ebay countries that ship to the US but thats really hit and miss.
A new 64gb sandisk microsdxc will set you back around $95-$135 and a new otterbox would cost around $40-$50 and thats if you can even find it which would be difficult to say the less. I read some reviews of people who didn't like theirs but most seem quite happy with it. Considering that they are hard to find his offer isn't really to high priced especially considering he offered to add money towards the trade. About two months ago I seen a used one go for like $40 on ebay if i remember correctly but then again one sold for only $13 w/ free shipping a couple weeks ago. You can see that here. Worth way more then $13 though, who ever got a steal on that.
Considering our phone has Cornings Gorilla Glass I think there is really no need to go all out. Get a nice full body screen protector such as clear-coat found here and put it in a fairly nice...but not break your bank account nice case. Something around $10 should do. Clear-coat normally has sales/coupons going on so if you do go that route try to look one up. I've had mine in a cheap $5 case since i bought it just after they came out and have even dropped it a few times, luckily my phone still looks like its in mint condition.

Yeah, I didn't mean that I'd only trade it for a 64gb microSD... if anyone wants to make any offer, I'd consider it. I already have a Noreve leather case that I use for my HD2, and I've rarely used the otterbox case, so I figure there's no reason for me to hang on to it.

I have this one and its probably one of the nicer cases I've used.

35-60 bucks go to fortte.com they have good ones. And they customize it if u input directions. Like they'll add straps and stuff.

I do want a screen protector too, but I only want the non-spray self-sticking (static cling?) ones. I bought one of those for my wife's iPad and it worked great. I bought a spray-and-stick one for my SGT8.9, and it sucked (Zag).

Well, MoKo makes good stuff, it should last a while, I think they are just doing the deep discount to get in on the Nexus 7 frenzy. I agree on the Zagg's, I don't like them either, but ArmorShield, Skinomi and BodyGuardz are all good ones, they all make dry apply and wet apply. I usually go for dry apply on phones, like my Galaxy Note i717, but on bigger things like tablets the wet apply ones are easier to install and work with, at least for me. The ArmorShield's are really thin, don't yellow and are not sticky like the Zagg's, which is one reason why I dislike Zaggs too.

Just ordered that case as well. Can't beat that price with prime shipping.

i ordered the case cause it's cheap but i will look for a better looking one later on once they do come out with it

I ordered the case a few days ago and already got it. It's actually quite nice and more indicative of its real price and not the $7 I paid for it.

I ordered a moko one that has the magnetic sleep/wake function. Sort of a gamble because there is only one pic, but it looks like it can function as a stand as well.

Nice. I just ordered it too (got the last one). I tried canceling my earlier Moko case order but wasn't able to in time. Assuming this case is good, I'll just return the other one for credit.

Yeah, I've been really impressed with MoKo cases, they are well built and don't cost an arm and a leg.

I got the case yesterday, and I'm pretty impressed! Also yesterday, I got this email from the seller-

Well, MoKo makes good stuff, it should last a while, I think they are just doing the deep discount to get in on the Nexus 7 frenzy. I agree on the Zagg's, I don't like them either, but ArmorShield, Skinomi and BodyGuardz are all good ones, they all make dry apply and wet apply. I usually go for dry apply on phones, like my Galaxy Note i717, but on bigger things like tablets the wet apply ones are easier to install and work with, at least for me. The ArmorShield's are really thin, don't yellow and are not sticky like the Zagg's, which is one reason why I dislike Zaggs too.

I received my armorshield screen protector yesterday and just installed it this morning. Had no issues, used the wet solution that came with it. I agree it is not as sticky as the zagg ones. The armorsuit skin has already dried and looks great.

Right on! I have been pretty impressed with their stuff, Skinomi's are a little sticky, and Zagg's are ultra sticky of course. With the ArmorShields, the little imperfections will settle out over the next couple of days, and if for some reason it goes crazy, they will just send you another set out.

I know, I'm shocked too. Question: you just ordered the one case in your OP, right?
I ask because I ordered TWO cases from this seller. The one you did, plus the $12.99 smart case they came out with on Sunday. I wanted to make sure that this email was about the first case, not the second one (or both).
I am really shocked that they would have gone so far to help their customers for something that cost $6.99 shipped. I was actually going to return that case, since I got the better one, but I think I'm going to keep it just out of support of the seller.

Yeah, just that one. I am really impressed too, it shouldn't be shocking to get that kind of customer service, but the world being like it is today it's surprising to get that level of service, I am definitely going to be doing more business with them in the future!
