Camera Confirmed to work on Topaz!

Hi All
Today I found a combination (which might have been out there for a while) how the Camera actually is working for Topaz Android
1. Download the FRX04 version
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883966 check there for section "Topaz Users"
3. Don't forget the post "[23/01/2011] :" to dissable 2 rows in froyo.conf file
The Camera was able to startup and I took one Picture
The speed of the Cam.. well.. don't be to happy.. but it is working anyway

Yeah,works fine, but only 3 MP and without auto-focus,but it works more quick than im windows mobile.
Oh,but programm(name forgotten) in FRX04 for Rhodium(23.01.11) is more usable,you can make photo by pressing on volume keys

yes indeed WinMo is quicker.. but one step at the time This is the first time I ever on my Topaz and Android was able to even see that it was "connected" and that I could take a picture.
The next development will be that the rest of the goodies will appear such as speed and autofocus etc etc..

Please, keep in mind that it's in debug state, a branch of XDAndroid code made by viruscrazy.
If you want to help test it, follow the instructions in the first post and leave your logs there.

yes with provided topaz test kernel it's working till 3mp pictures
@5mp camera crashed... but this is allready known and developer asked for dmesg log files to finetune the driver...

Updated Lib_package to fix the froyo.user.conf file (thanks to arrrghhh again, you're the "conf file" specialist) and the Blackstone picture crash (I hope...). If you are using latest FRX04 build and rootfs, you may have to disable the two following lines (add a "#" at the begginnning of the line) :

Could DEVs add camera to Gingerbread?

There is a new fix for 5MP. It works. You need the Kernel from 28.01.11 and the new attached Haret Version. Do not use the attached kernels and don't forget to write the line:
set INITRD_OFFSET 0x608000
under "set initrd initrd.gz" (Startup.txt)

I also confirm it works

Here it doesn't. New haret makes the topaz reboot in winmo...

Well, it doesn't seem to work with Froyo X...

What doesn't seems to work?
The Camera is working but as the forum said.. only stable up to 3Mpixels...

[KITCHEN][16.10.2011] nsourm Kitchen

This thread is meant for Kitchen discussion only! (e.g. problems with cooking, possible fixes and/or updates for the kitchen, etc.)
Pre-built stock nsourm’s ROMs ready for flashing (built using this kitchen)
5 versions
This is the same kitchen i've used for my rom
The kitchen is prepared in 9 languages:
0C0A = Spanish rom
040C = French rom
0406 = Danish rom
0407 = German rom
0408 = Greek rom
0409 = WWE rom
0410 = Italian rom
0413 = Dutch rom
0419 = Russian rom
How to cook a ROM
Step 1: Extract the Kitchen
Extract nsourm kitchen in a folder of your choice eg c: folder.
Step 2: Starting up
Once you've extracted the file, you can start the kitchen by launching osKitchen.exe.
This is how it should look like: (see pic1)
Click on the button "Open Project" and select the inside the htc photon folder the type of ROM you want to use as a Base. You can choose between the five versions. (pic2)
Once you have loaded up your kitchen, you have the same setup i used for the release of my roms.
You could now just press "Start building rom" and build your first rom, however this kitchen is meant so users can create their personal ROMs (with only the stuff you need)
Note that i have already dissabled some packages but you can pass the message and build the rom.
Step 3: Customization
Once you've loaded a «stock ROM», u can customize it to your own needs. U can exclude packages, add new packages, or edit some of the app.reg files to tweak it even more.
To exclude a package, u simply need to unmark the package by pressing the box next to the package, and the packages will be disabled and not used while building the ROM.
The sys tab is for windows mobile build. Be careful with this tab, because there are some packages that can’t be disabled. I've already include sys packages 23152, 29013, 29017, 29020, 29022.The last one is new one so if you build a rom with that you are going to have a brand new rom.
The ext packages tab is the main tab and this can be modified easily.
Keep in mind however that some packages are required for some core functions of the ROM and/or sense. I did my best categorising the stuff in folders so it's easier to know which packages can be removed without affecting functionality.
There are 2 extra folders
1. Sourmelidis apps
2. Sourmelidis cht modifications and tweaks
Both folders include extra apps and modifications that can be excluded from rom without affecting anything
The advanced tweaks tab is for some tweaks for the whole rom, such as cfc compressed rom, pagepool. Splash screen etc
Step 4: Building and flashing
Once you're ready, just go ahead and press the "Start building" button, this will take a while (it depends on how fast is your pc, laptop).
Once done, you will get a file called "ruu_signed???.nbh" in the HTC photon output folder
This file is your ROM, it's built and now ready to be flash, with the known procedure using cottulas sspl

of course you can do that.But you are going to start from scratch and this is a big job...

here is the answer if someone dose the same mistake i did (wrong cooking ) ,after flashing a bad ''built by me'' rom the device would't boot anymore .
1.Enter bootloader mode (device off, VOL DOWN + POWER simult.)
2.Flash stock rom for your device (only,you can download it using youre phone SN )
3.That's it ,now you can flash any rom you want
Hope this can help those having trouble experimenting like me

I try to make my own rom (40c) but the process is in failure when creating the nbh file.
The file is not create in NBH OUPUT folder.(no file found)
Any ideas ?

Can somebody make the v20n in a .Zip file to CWM

Hi I have somes issues with KDZ updater and R&D Tool to update my OB in 2.3.4 v20n . I wonder if it's possible to make a .ZIp file of the v20n (original not the repackage because I want a rom which really works because the market issue in the repackage one scares me) ? If it's possible, can somebody make it for me ?!!

Before everyone starts flaming me and trying to kill me for being such a noob, i would like to say that i'm a teen and a noob.
ANYWAYS, i got bored and decided to have a go at porting Firefox OS to the Optimus 2X. After figuring out how to make a flashable zip out of .img's, I tested a bit. Unfortunately ADB doesnt work and I don't know how to do live kernel debugging.

Turn signature verification off before flashing
BUILD INSTRUCTIONS (still doesn't work, but for anyone who thinks they might have the answer, go right ahead)
1.

3.cd to the B2G directory and

and wait for the code to download. This has a good chance of failing because repo and git are stupid.

5.edit core/sysroot/init.rc so that it imports init.p990.rc
6.go to line 98 of build/core/Makefile and change the build fingerprint to something acceptable by the build system
7.go online and find a wpa_ctrl.h and put it in hardware/libhardware_legacy/wifi/libwpa_client/wpa_ctrl.h
8.copy libcamera.so and libwpa_client.so from a cm9-based rom to out/target/product/p990/obj/lib/
9.it should turn out boot,img, system.img, a system folder, userdata.img, a userdata folder, etc. with adaptations, you should be able to craft a flashable zip out of the folders.

Ok. What i did similarly to my phone to get this up. First, use PowerISO and extract userdata.img and system.img. Once done, its just like system folder of android while userdata is just data folder for user's data. Obviously. And then, the boot.img goes to the same as a flashable rom zip root folder. So basically, they are the same as flashing cm. Just need to add another few commands for recovery.img so that the whole thing is flashed like cm10

i think probably you can pm any recognised dev's for help....if you post a thread here i dont think anybody will try to help....you can pm the dev's like tonyp, harsh, carburano or anyone and you can ask for help in packaging and later on continue with your development....just an idea....:good:

Its not a "virus java drive", its a hidden bitcoin miner. If u use a secure browser like Firefox, it will prompt you before running it.

This archive must be unpacked, then you have to pack two folders (meta-inf, system, and boot.img file) into a zip package. Now you can install rom.
