Nice. Glad I saw this... I just grabbed the 4.1.2 image and was planning on flashing that and doing the 4.2 update. I'll just do the straight 4.2 image then and be done with it.
I do have to ask... for one to install this, do you just need to do a factory wipe, transfer the image to the tablet, reboot to recovery, and install via recovery? Or does this need to be done via adb?

Would it be better if you provide the link?
Anyway, this is the link to the file.
https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/nakasi-jop40c-factory-6aabb391.tgz
The file ext ends with TGZ, not ZIP.
Or you can go to https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images.

What does this mean? Do we not have to revert back to stock 4.1.2 to update via recovery if we have ".img" ? If so, with toolkit it would be easy..

I installed this following the directions on Googles Web site. Worked fine. It wiped everything as expected and my bootloader remained unlocked. Just had to reroot.

probably the name changed when they dropped the 8 GB and added the 32 and 3G models.

Thanks, already looked there, however there doesn't seem to be any clear instructions, or breakdown of the commands to run in fast boot. I followed the links but still nothing showing exactly what to do. Maybe I'm missing something...?
It's ok, found some instructions in another thread.

For those looking to flash the stock 4.2 factory image, and wipe everything clean (including SD)
There is a flash-all.bat included in the factory image.
I just restored the stock recovery, booted into the bootloader/fastboot, copied the fastboot files from the wugfresh toolkit (u might just need fasboot.exe) into the folder where the flash-all.bat is, and ran cmd prompt on my pc with admin priv, then cd'd into the folder with the flash-all.bat is and ran it.
Worked perfectly, like a fresh new N7 with 4.2 factory installed.

Perhaps it would be easier if you used a nexus 7 toolkit to flash the image

No Android in Moboot

I've spent two days trying to solve this but keep coming to the same problem. I have factory reset my touchpad with the webos doctor and have done a secure wipe on the device. When I try to install CM9 with ACMEInstaller it works fine, but when I boot moboot does not show an android option. It does show a CWM option but when I try to flash the ROM from CWM it says
"E:Can't open /sdcard/cminstall/cm-9-20120814-NIGHTLY-tenderloin.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Couldn't open directory.
No files found."
I was able to install android before. I'm not sure of the cause of this error. CWM won't flash any ROM I have tried nightlies and other touchpad roms; nothing works. The fact that moboot doesn't even show android may be a part of this. I only installed android once with the ACMEInstaller 4 months ago and it worked perfectly. After that I was able to flash roms and everything was fine. This whole issue started when I tried to install ubuntu, but I was able to successfully remove ubuntu and restore to factory default. Any help would be appreciated as the touchpad nearly triples in value for me with android installed.
This thread would have solved my first issue, but cwm won't install any ROMS

Okay... I went throught this exact same thing, which was very frusterating!!
Look in your cminstall folder on the SD card. Does it no longer contain the items you placed into it? If yes, then you have the same issue I did.
Do exactly what this guy says in his tutorial, and don't swap out the ROM or GAPPS or anything, use the exact package you download from the site he linked. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/install-android-ice-cream-sandwich-hp-touchpad-minutes/
It will work 100%, then use CWM to flash whatever ROM you like after... Bravo, you are done!

I'm about to try, should I restore my touchpad first? Should I run the ACMEUninstaller?
For some reason AcmeInstaller2 deletes ROM's it doesn't like, so in effect all you are doing is installing a non-functional version of CWM.

stock ZV5 SYSTEM IMG USED FOR UNROOTING?

How can no one have it? Anyone who is NOT rooted would have to do is follow the root method but instead of running the command specified to flash the rooted system image you would run this instead....
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 bs=8192 seek=65536 count=557312 of=/data/media/0/system.LS991ZV5.img
use the LEAVE command to reboot and then file transfer that image off and post it here.
I thought I did this before I rooted but forgot to transfer it off and accidentally blew the file away with a factory reset (doh!)
Can someone please post this? I should have just backed it up myself but I figured there would be a kdz or tot available.
Lol

If you rooted and followed the instructions to back up your system.img file before hand then YES, I'm sure there are some around.

Just extract the stock rom with 7-zip and you'll see the different IMG files, including boot.img.

I have to apologize to everyone for this not so smart post.? I had a few drinks in me and obviously wasn't thinking clearly.. ?
Before anybody says anything "no I'm not a drunk" lol. I just happened to have a few glasses of wine to many. I'm seriously a lightweight.. Anyway after my head cleared up I realized what to do. I've been an Android enthusiast for some time now and its rare that I ask for help.
I really appreciate the suggestions though and will be asking for this post to be removed..
I also appreciate you all not flaming me as well?

ASUS MeMO Pad 7 ‏(ME176CX)‏ Not updating to lollipop

As it says in the title. How to i get it to install. My Tablet is rooted.

If you have a ww sku try to put this file (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/ME176C/UL-K013-WW-12.10.1.36_KK-user.zip) on the root of you microSD card and reboot the tab, it should try to flash it (well not on first reboot, you'll have a notification asking you if you want to do the update); if this doesn't work either try the nandroid (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347832070) from jerbear, it was done on an unmodified me176c with lollipop, you must use the tethered recovery, make a backup, reboot, replace your back up files by the files of the nandroid, then reuse the tethered recovery and restore from the new back up. Ask jerbear from this forum for further explanation, i'm just a user who had the same problem, not a specialist.

Ps; the system will do an update after the nandroid restore, it is an older version of the me176c's lollipop rom.

You'll have to root again indeed, but remember what i said in the start, you're likely to regret it if you manage to do the update, it's a very bugged one.

a factory reset doesn't give you the original rom, the update will still be there, the downgrade is a very tricky process, and i answered you only because you asked, but i repeat myself, you should really keep your tab the way it is now, i regretted having done the update for months until someone finally found a way to roll-back to kitkat.
With lollipop you'll have:
-memory leak (can be fixed anyway).
-overheating.
-crashes.
-apps closing themselves or refusing to launch.
-random reboots of the tab itself.
-some users even had clock issues on the tab (too slow).
-others had battery life issue (tablet discharging too fast).
---------- Post added at 09:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:51 AM ----------
oh and i forgot, google apps crashs.
