Any 16gb UK buyers? - Nexus 4 General

I was one of the masses to NOT get a nexus 4 this morning even though i was there at 7-45.. gutted...
Wonder if there was anyone that ordered two in the UK .. Maybe we can sort out something?

I tried from 8 to 9am with no luck. Got to the payment stge twice but it errored out
Or at least so I thought... An hour later I received a confirmation email, delivery Thursday! Also had a bumper in my cart and that's coming too.

same here. google is a piece of ****, i doubt they had 500 nexus for uk consumer. i was up all night, saw the phone went live for sale, was trying from 8.07 till 8.40 no luck always gave me an error, even i got into payment option couple of times but again error. this is such a disgrace for a big company. f... u google.
anyway been to the local phones4u and cpw and o2. cpw has no clue about the phone said wuld never be in store, o2 said 400 quid (u got to be kidding me) but phones4u says
they might get stock on 17th the fella was very friendly and had my number he will txt me on 16th if they really gona get stock on saturday.
it was a real mess of my life didnt go to tech and work sold my gnex dont know what to do....

I managed to get one way past the time by which they had seemingly sold out (sold out by the time I had logged on around 8:20ish whereas I eventually was able to order what must have been an hour and a half(ish) later!). I have been disappointed in a very similar way when Glastonbury 2013 tickets went on sale earlier this year and was determined that I would not have the same crushing feeling of disappointment again. I just wouldn't give up and constantly refreshed that page like a madman. The page jumped between 'coming soon' and 'add to cart' with each refresh and each click of 'add to cart' would give me one of about 10 different errors but in each case it was impossible to add the darn thing into the shopping 'cart/basket'. I was so close to giving up when one time it just worked. I got through all the stages and after panicking as I realised I had to renter a new delivery address, the order went through.

I was trying to get a 16GB, but I could never get through. Thought I'd try with the 8GB and it worked, settled for that instead.

Guess I will have to wait a few weeks (i hope) for them to be back in stock

I managed to click 'accept and buy' on 3 different occasions to get a 16GB and on each time the site either died after a while or threw out an error. I then went for an 8GB version and then Lloyds decided to refuse payment because of their fraud protection and the order was cancelled. So now I wait.

I got an 8GB, after 50 minutes of trying this morning for a 16GB. The 8GB I got at around 11:30, one of the ones they were restocking due to cancellations and whatnot.

No cigar on the 16GB but I managed to get an 8GB.
Figured with the Google Music Launch this morning, I would just get all my music uploading and stream it.

I 'think' I got one.
None of my orders went through due to website failures, but I have 1 nexus 4 that is pending in Google wallet.
Hope this means I got one.

Carlsberg don't do launches but if they did they wouldn't let Google within 100 miles of it.
What level of stock do Google run with on these things, was the same shambles last year with SGN
Again 1/10 for Google. Hope the phone makes up for it when finally get one.

same people having trouble i did, got to google wallet then just server crashed on me...
I called up google a couple hours ago and they didn't really know when more was going to be in stock, she said just to keep checking every now and again
annoyed, but can't say im surprised.

Yeah could never get passed the payment page kept on crashing...

I have a 16GB version but it's locked to O2, I'd be more than happy to swap with someone ON O2 who has an unlocked version... ^_^

So I requested an exchange from the PS...

Anyone else in the same boat? Have you gotten the email from the escalation team yet? If so, how long did it take for them to contact you?
I am still waiting for the email the rep on the phone told me about last night. I explained that my speaker is too low compared to my GFs N7 and he mentioned a lot of people were complaining about this with the 16GB versions (go figure). He said that they'll ship me a new one and will send packaging labels to return this one. He said I should expect an email from Google some time this week and after that they'll send me the replacement with 1-day shipping. Is this accurate?
At least I can play around with the N7 for the time being. However, it's quite annoying knowing ill have to redo all my setup again. Só many apps, layout changes, settings changes, etc.
Oh well...
PS - Today at work I compared the screens between my 16GB and my coworkers 8GB and his was noticeably brighter when maxed out. Weird and sad that there is another thing I need to worry about now. I guess I expected these QC issues from Asus as an original Transformer owner.

6pm tonight will be 48 hrs since I contacted them, I don't have high hopes of getting a proper 2nd email.
I called them on Tues about the lifted screen and I got an email from them earlier today about getting a replacement. It seems that I will have to order a new unit (my card will be AUTH but not charged) and then the replacement in. They need to get the device within 21 days so that my card doesn't get charged. I've already placed the order through a special URL and now just waiting to see when they will ship.

I ordered early but changed it from 8 to 16gb on the 12th, so I have another week to go. They wouldnt honor my original order date despite giving them more money.
I'm too busy looking for a job anyway. Seems veterans aren't as quickly hired as I had previously thought.
I waited 48 still no reply. I tried to call they tel have to wait for escalation team.

I contacted them on Tuesday sadly only a few hours after getting my N7. My speaker is defective as well, and like you said when I brought it up they mentioned its been coming up lately. Same deal, told me they would ship out a new one for me within 24hrs however they didn't mention anything about 1 day shipping. That would be great.
Just under 24hrs later last night I received two emails back including the return shipping label info and another with a link to a custom play store checkout with my 16gb replacement. I put in my order via the link they gave me but I was greeted with an error on the next page, however I promptly received an email confirming my order so I guess it went through anyways.
All that's left now is waiting to see when it ships..
I hope it's soon.

I was wondering if my 16GB version suffered from low volume levels. I'm still on the fence about it. That would be the only possible defect my device has.

I just received the email from google. They sent me a RMA and a prepaid shipping label. There's also a link to have them send me a replacement unit.
The link takes me to my google wallet account, with a new 16 GB in the cart. They don't charge shipping or tax, but put a hold for $249 on your credit card. I have 21 days to return the defective Nexus 7.
I'm a little worried that I am basically buying a new Nexus 7, and not getting priority over someone who ordered today. If I have to wait 3-4 weeks, I will feel like google mislead me about this Nexus 7 replacement process.

Same thing through office Depot. They do next day shipping though but they do that ludicrous credit card hold. Probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard of and makes me not want to order online anymore. Walking into a store you don't pay shipping nor get a hold on your card. Very very inconvenient.

My issue is that there are many other online vendors that handle things fine... mainly Amazon.com. How google is handling this issue is terrible. "oh man, phones are getting flooded, TAKE DOWN THE SUPPORT NUMBER FROM OUR WEBSITE"
I have said this in other threads.... This is the last time I ever buy a device straight from google. Hardware issues can't be their fault 100%, stuff happens... It's how they are handling the problems that is frustrating.

This is what they told me that would happen. I'm still waiting for the RMA email but at least they are sending them out.
Bad news if you're technically buying a new one at zero price. Here in the UK, they've said that pre orders from June 30th are shipping next week, so I'm looking at a week Monday shipment at the earliest. Over a month since the initial order!
On a related note, just how low is this "low speaker volume" problem? I'd say mine isn't the loudest tablet ever, and now I'm wondering if it's possible to get one with louder volume. I have a tiny bit of screen separation and was going to keep mine (everything else is fine, and my screen's just the tiniest bit higher on the left than the right). However, if the volume is lower than it should be...
Also, anybody notice headphone volume also isn't very loud? Just loud enough to be acceptable, but not loud enough to be too loud. I'm used to devices starting to get too loud at about 75%.

I did receive all the emails in regards to the exchange, I'm just waiting on any sort of shipping notice. The only thing that bothers me is I checked my card and I have 3 pending charges from the play store in the amount of the tablet. Not just one, I know I won't be charged if I return the defective unit in 21 days but why 3 charges?

The Play Store SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

I went online at exactly 12:00 PM when the play store opened and had my new Nexus 4 16 gig model in the shopping cart and was checking out when I was kicked out of the site from an processing error.
When I went to select the 16 gig model to begin the process over again, the "coming soon" message appeared and wanted my email address. This is total bull****, a company the size of Google can't even launch a product properly?
Now both the 8 and 16 models can't even be selected from the site. I have been waiting and waiting for this phone to be released and can't even buy one. Total bull****.
I suspect it's to generate hype for it. I was lucky enough to get one of the 8gb restocks about 6 hours ago.

keep refreshing throughout the day. I've seen the COMING SOON page switch to IN STOCK a few times already, so I 'd imagine this will happen throughout the day as orders fail and phones go back to stock.

We've all been waiting mate. Many people are being very cynical towards Google. I don't think people understand how many people are accessing their sites simultaneously. I also think people aren't used to not getting what they want. To think people expect Google to be able to support the world's demand for the Nexus 4.

Never any purchase delays when Google has 10 cent app sales. They have the capacity to handle this smoothly. It is all a big marketing fiasco and Google pooped on its most determined customers.
Crazy to say 12. Have us guess what time zone. Have reps say different ****. Then say 9 PST but sell it beforehand. Many of us wasted our time to this.

I'm in Toronto, Canada and was unable to order the Nexus 4 from Google Play, due to server errors.
I tried to order from about 11:36am to 12 noon with no success.
I was able to order mine at 8:34 pacific here in Washington state.
I'm in Germany, I managed to get one after a series of errors. I actually thought I hadn't made it also but then saw an email confirmation later.
But it's not been shipped yet.. :crying:

I was able to order one are 1:00PM EST. Was unsuccessful earlier, but kept refreshing and using Page Monitor Chrome extension. Got a 16GB N4 that is scheduled to ship before the week is over.

In UK, there at 8am refreshing until i got the ready for order. Had exactly the same experience as everyone else, errors galore on the order process, tried adding the bumper, the 16gb and 8gb, ended up getting an order for the 8gb and bumper! My credit card shows the amount as pending to come out, and Google wallet says shipping 15th.
Whoop whoop! Come on Google, redeem yourselves with the order process for those who managed to get through the initial mess!

That's not exactly true... I've received $200 in TMO credit, $100 in Visa gift cards, three new phones, due to all the crediting, and four years of Netflix. Not to mention a 128GB device when I originally bought a 64GB one. You just need to be polite and they'll do anything for you. If one representative says no, hang up and call again.

I did not get netflix it was online only. I chose to get it at a store and no I did not get $100 Visa card or and upgrade to 128gb. Because I got mine full price the wee it came out. I even tried the $50 rebate for memorial day and was declined. I personally did not get one single promotional offer.

You should have tried the Netflix promo because it worked for any s6 within a time frame. They said it was only for pre-orders but it worked for both my phones I bought in store.

Samsungs had a website that you gave your imei and mac adress to verify your had a activated s6. After verification they emailed a Netflix code that put over a hundred dollar credit to your account.

Well to be fair it was supposed to be only for pre-orders and they got a insert with the promo info. It just happened to work with non pre-ordered phones. I think it was worded like the first 50,000 pre orders get the Netflix promo.

I bought my S6 on release day in a T-Mobile store. I got the Netflix deal with no problem. My wife upgraded from the Note 4 to the S6 Edge about 2 weeks before the price drop ? I called and they took $100 from the overall EIP. I'm cool with that!

i was rejected for the $50 memorial day gift as it wasnt in their time frame for purchase on top of that people who got the phone a month later got the 64gb s6 for the price of 32 gb
so overall we were fools to get this phone on the first week
i wrote a letter to the customer relations @ Tmobile and they responded in a week saying the do understand the situation but cannot change the terms in the promotion , however they still went ahead and gave me a $50 credit on my bill

Some of you might have been fools for buying within the first week but I can tell you right now I was not. I knew I was not going to get the best price and miss out on alot of deals by buying the first week, I just wanted the phone and didn't want to wait.

Are you really upset because you paid top dollar and bought it the very week it came out? Are you new to buying -anything-? That's how EVERYTHING works. when something new and shiny comes out it's expensive as crap, after the initial few weeks it slowly starts dropping in price until its outdated and massively cheap or not even on the market anymore. How is someone having to explain this to you?

I would -LOVE- for you to break down how all this occurred in a step by step format so others could benefit from your way of handling their customer service in the future if you'd be so kind please. Due to various issues with Tmobile screwing me over and me finally figuring it out (related to their "warranty" that doesnt warranty -anything-) and ongoing issues within my account, I was given a MASSIVE discount on the S6, 2 free phones and 200 dollars credit, but again that was mostly due to me realizing theyve been screwing me over for a -long- while, then not giving in until they evened the score properly. (Also got the netflix promo, but that was unrelated to their compensation)

The netflix promotion was available for any and all S6/Edges during the promo timeframe, I got mine in-store the day it came out and was able to use the online promo for netflix without issue

I'm all for trying to get freebies and do it myself regularly, but if you are -honestly- upset that you got "screwed" over because you didn't get a cheaper price or special goodies on an initial release purchase, you're just being silly. that's how EVERYTHING works. the early adopters get the highest price and often buggy product in return for being "The first of the first". how does anyone not get that? It happens with quite literally everything, with technology being a leader in example.

Tmobile online now taking orders

Go to tmobile website and put gear vr in search box and click on gear vr option and order it for 99.99. They did not even advertise that it was available for order. I just ordered mine. I'm thinking first come first serve hopefully, it's sold out everywhere else and tmobile told everyone that they wasn't taking orders till November 27 so order asap.

Is Best Buy selling these in store? I see it is not available for in store pickup on their website...

Thanks for your response, actually last night seemed all my UPS Status went from nothing (literally UPS site said the tracking number wasent in their system) to being on truck ready for shipment today. I cant stop looking for the truck! LOL

Awesome. My order does not even say "shipped" from T-Mobile...it just says "Being Processed" which makes me a little concerned that maybe they got a ton of orders and I won't be getting one any time soon. We'll see.
Did you pick regular shipping, or did you pay for next day shipping? I picked the free 2-4 day shipping.
I noticed that the Gear VR is now listed as out of stock the T-Mobile's website.

I picked next day overnight because the lady offered it for free, so why not? LOL.
Then, the next day (sat) I made a follow up, and for the inconvenience, they gave me a $30. credit!
On top of that, I complained to Best Buy last week because when I went to the store to get more information on the unit, none of the Samsung reps knew anything about it, or would make any effort to look into it in the computer. 3 different reps gave me 3 different "possible" dates.... I say "Possible" because they didn't want to bother looking at the computer. All I wanted to do was place an order in store if possible because I prefer to have my CC scanned in person and not have the number sent off to cyberspace.... all they had to do was take my money and they didn't want to, so I said screw it and called corporate and complained (took 5 minutes) and they sent me a $25. gift card LOL. So, essentially this thing will cost me about $45. in the end.
Mine is still being processed as well, now it's back available for ordering when it said out of stock last night...this tells me there system is screwing up so we may not have anything shipping anytime soon ...chatting now with tmobile specialist...will fill u guys in

Thanks for doing some leg work and looking in to this. I keep hoping for an email with a tracking number, but still nothing.
I did online chat with T-Mobile earlier today, and they assured me I should have it in 24-48 hours, but I am still feeling skeptical. When I look at T-Mobile's website it is still showing as out of stock for me.

Nope...still no shipping notification. The online chat people are useless too. They just keep telling me I should receive it by the end of the week (i.e 2-4 business days)...but since I ordered it on Saturday, you would think it would have shipped yesterday. That leads me to believe T-Mobile F'd this one up.
Wish I did one day shipping now...maybe it would have helped...but Samsung USA online store said they will be shipping back orders on 30th...I have one with them too...so if both come I will sell one for double on eBay

Just got off the phone with T-Mobile. They sadly just confirmed that it is backordered with no anticipated ship date. What a crock.
The girl said they can get shipments on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but that really doesn't help at all.
What a bunch of BS.
