Hi guys, i wanted to remove all default software(Android 2.3.4d+root). Before that I did backup, and froze these programs (I used Titanium backup): Lg music club, play music, lg music, some widgets, few wallpapers. After freezing and rebooting phone I found distortion in headphones. But with the speaker it works fine. Then I unfroze all with “Titatnium backup”, but it didn’t help. Then I did hard reset- no results. Backup I did :batch backup/restore -- backup all apps+ system data
Now I have distortion in all games, any music players. All high notes sounds like ultrasound. Tried different headphones Then with “smart flash” install again Android 2.3.4- it didn’t help, then ICS 4.0.4 , but nothing helped. Maybe there were changes in the kernel? Without music, I can not Don’t want contact to service center. Guys, pleaseeeee help me. :crying: Sorry for my poor English
If you Roms don't help, it seems like hardware problem. That's all.

I'm just wondering whether anyone else is as frustrated as I am with the YouTube app included on the captivate. I always click on "more" and change it to "watch in high quality" whenever I pull up a video.
Is there some sort of workaround that could fix this? And by fix of course I mean change the app to always pull videos down in high quality.

You can flash the JH2 or JH3 ROM and it has a HQ button right on the front so it is an easy 1 click to load the HQ video, Or you can connect to a wireless connection and it will always load the HQ version..
I installed the default Youtube app from the Droid X or something that allows for you to set the high quality setting as default and includes the HQ button on the screen as well. Been working fine for me; but as always, buyer beware.
question, did you delete the original youtube app before installing this?
I'm leaning toward this option of installing another version of youtube. I'm rooted, and running Titanium backup and have used droid explorer and all. I would also like to know whether I need to uninstall the default youtube, because I've backed up and deleted the AT&T apps as recommended in another thread, but I haven't seen or tried reinstalling something once uninstalling using titanium backup. (Is that a paid version benefit?)
I don't really like the idea of flashing my rom just yet. I've had the phone about a month now, and am still a little jumpy with my new toy. Maybe in 6 months I'll be running cyanogenmod or something, but not just yet.
As far as connecting to a wireless network or just telling it every time to download in HQ, my problem is this: I'm not always near wi-fi, and it seems really hypocritical of the nation's fastest 3g network purveyors to make us watch underwater vaseline-glasses youtube videos when their network speeds support HQ viewing.
Thanks for the quick replies! XDA's great!

I just installed it right without removing the original since I figured it was just like updating the application. I think it prompts you that the older version will be removed and replaced by that one anyways.

Interesting, I just have the stock Youtube app and whenever I pull up a video and go to Menu, it shows "Watch in Normal Quality," which I assume means I'm already watching in HQ. I don't remember changing anything though...

When you are connected to wifi, it will default to the high quality setting. When you are connected to 3g, however, it will switch to normal/low quality mode. I'm assuming this is the case right now.
sometimes the buttons on the widget don't work properly :T.. and i have JH3 @[email protected]

Regarding restoring an app after uninstalling it, I have been trying to do the same thing. It seems as if it wont restore simply from a backup. I am running the free version also so maybe it is a paid benefit.

Hello.
After rooting my LG Thrill, and freezing/deleting some default applications (such as default music player), these buttons appeared in my notification bar. They look cool, but this is the only thing they do. No reaction on simple touch or long press.
I would really like to remove them or make them work. Any help is welcome.
Thank You, and sorry for my bad english

Its a result of you freezing your music app... it wont go away till you restore it. Or if you want to try your hand at changing the code to remove it from the notification area

I'm afraid i lack some knowledge to change code. This is my first smartphon and i got it like 2 weeks ago. Thank you though. Will try to restore default music player.
And i would be really thankful if You could get me some tips on how to change that code.
Man... I think the stock music player is just fine and happen to enjoy the controls in the notification area.... why err'body hatin' all the time dizzang.
I'm not hating it, it's just, there are players that can give you more control over your music, with more settings and better sound quality

I'm in the same boat! I just like power amp more. I don't want that installed if I'm never going to use it.. But I don't want the non functional controls taking up screen space either. I was surprised to disable it, remove the app - then see it return.
I've seen some people remove it on lg p990's I think, we could probably do something similar - but it looked complex. If it was as simple as changing a text file...
If u just want to remove it from the notification bar open the music app hit the menu button then click settings and unclick the music player in notification. Hope this helps

My google music works fine. And does it really take longer to uninstall/reinstall then it does to make a thread and wait for a reply? Or does this happen often and you have to uninstall/reinstall? Cause like I said, Google Music has no problems for me. However, I'm using a slightly older version (4.1.512) that's was modded to be transparent - don't know if the newest version might have issues?
I'm using 4.1.513 with no issues.
Mine works fine, but i added my own music and only play music at home on wifi normally.Never had any problems with it not showing.

I would try uploading my local music to google music. You can them make your google music available offline as well.
Do you have a custom ROM? Did this problem start with an upgrade such as ICS? I have ICS on a stock, unrooted Vivid. The Google Music app is 4.1.513. As soon as I started it, it found all my local music on the SD card as well as albums on my internal storage I had recently purchased and downloaded from Google. I don't mess with streaming music, so if that is what you're doing, maybe someone else can help you.

Same sd card? If so try reformatting it (backup important stuff, format card, replace important stuff)

This happens to me, too. The easier workaround than uninstall/reinstall is to locate the Google Play Music app under Settings/Apps and clear data.
Then use the Google Music app and go through the usual stuff. Your local music files will be there when you're done.
I know it's not a fix, but it's a better workaround than reinstalling the app.
Hello Guys,
I have a problem with lost playlist. I rooted my phone and now using Doc's Master ICS Rom V12. I downloaded 2 Music Player the Playerpro and the ZPlayer. I created several playlist and after I rebooted my phone, They were all gone.
I am also using Apex launcher for this. Any suggestions on fixing this problem? or any way that I could prevent my playlist to disappear after I rebooted my phone?
Thanks for the HELP.

Back up with titanium

I've had this problem follow me from eclaire, froyo to ICS. I've posted on Google's forums with a very detailed description of where the problem lies, only to be completely ignored by their lazy techs and moderators. They're a bunch of f!&#&ing retards if you ask me.
So Google Play Music is one of my favorite android apps, i use it daily and i never really had many issues with it until i got note 3.
Like usual i just plug in my headphones and start listing to music. the problem is that sometimes after 1 song sometimes after 2, the next song is playing but there is no audio. I try to switch tracks and same thing.
Couldn't figure out what it was, i removed the headphones and plugged them back in and the audio started playing again. Tried skipping to the next song, and no audio again.
Does anyone have the same issue or knows how to fix it? I've updated the app to the latest version but i still have that issue. I tried removing the updates and same thing. Can't remove the app completely since the note is not rooted and i am not planning on rooting it just yet since the security in Knox gets triggered and voids the warranty.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!
Figured it out, it was the built in EQ. Once disabled , everything worked. Now i have to find an aftermarket eq that supports google music

I now presume you simply disabled the eq in the Google Play Music app. Here is a complete solution to fix the EQ bug.
So i did some searching on google specifically for the equalizer, and this issue is a problem across many galaxy devices. I do not have the link but basically the stock equalizer needs to be disabled.
0. Get the replacement equalizer for Google Music called "equalizer" (only equalizer)
Disable Stock Equalizer:
1. Go to settings
2. Go to device
3. go to sounds
4. go to music effects
5. Select "Equalizer" instead of "Music FX"
I have been using viper4android on my Note 3. I had been using volume+ before I got my N3.
Viper is VERY good and has a tonne of settings.
The only bad thing is that it has little hiccups where the music fades out for a moment and then comes back. I don't like the hiccups, but still worth using to me.
Oops, meant to say I mostly use Google Play Music. It also works with Pandora and most everything else I have tried with viper.
I had this problem (stock, no root) and the equalizer was not turned on. The ATT OTA seems to have fixed my audio issues.

Did you install it from the play store or from this xda thread? If the latter, I presume you edited your build.prop? just checking.
