Pre-4.2 clock widget? - Nexus 7 General

The 4.2 clock widget looks absolutely horrible, I wonder why didn't they make it into a selection between which widget you want.
Anyways, is it possible to get the pre-4.2 clock widget on 4.2? It completely ruined my home screen at the moment. Or is there an app on Play Store that includes it?

Remove it from home and You can switch to analog one.

No no, I like the analog one. The old one did not have that horrible circle around it, the new one does. It looked really good on my wallpaper before, but now I cannot select the one without the ring anymore.

Oh I thought you were talking about digital.
Unfortunately the old one were replaced by this new one.
Maybe you can extract the 4.1.2 and install/replace the 4.2 one.

Look for "clock jb" by moblynx.
I think that is the one.

I too, have disdain form this new digital clock. And the wonky boxes that show up surrounding the home screen widgets.

Which ROM does "Beautiful Widgets" Work Best With?

Hi all,
I'm interested in using Beautiful Widgets with any ROM in order to create a HTC-like sense in Launcher2. Only thing is, I can't find a ROM that supports it very well. Is anyone using a certain ROM with Beautiful Widgets successfully?
Thanks in advance!

Ok but that's not a "beautiful widget"....that's an HTC widget ....if I am thinking of the same one

No, its a beautiful widget. I know what you're talking about, its worked with every ROM i've used but I prefer the HTC widgets in all honesty. Why are you using BW anyway out of curiosity.
I want to simulate what HTC widgets might look like in Launcher2

The HTC-like widgets were removed sometime around version ~2.3-2.4 due to a cease and desist order from HTC.
Older versions will still have them.

[Docks] Sense style for LPP, Adw Ex & Go Ex - Multiple colors

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Hello. I was bored today working on a Graphic Design project and decided to take a small break to make some Sense style docks. They should work in Launcher Pro, Adw Ex and Go Launcher Ex.
The zip is not flash-able. Just extract the png files to your sdcard somewhere and select the images like you would normally for custom docks in your launcher.
There is also a blank png file included in the zip, to make the buttons transparent over the dock if needed.
I have tested most of these in Go Launcher Ex, but some may be a little rough around the edges because I haven't tested them all.
If I get more time I will try and make some more.
Thank you..... I been looking everywhere and couldn't find anything like this is it possible to make transparent one? Or a wood one? Or a pearl white one?

Yea I can look into it. I can try making a couple of ones like that.
I added some new docks to the original post. Let me know if anyone wants anymore
Thanks again man these are awesome Haha now to just get the clock to match lol yo that ocean and fire one are just wow man nice
Guess I need to take that design class too these are cool
Just thought of another one man dockbar with outerspace inside

No problem. I may eventually add some more later. If I can figure out how to theme the clock I'll add some clock skins. I am not too good with the programming end if things though and it may take some code.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk
Which clock? You mean the original HTC fancy widget?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
Fancy widget or Beautiful widgets. I think there are templates for the skins on those.

Oh ok. I do not know how to theme apks. I do not know anything about code. I just know enough to change image files in photoshop, etc.
I got another could you make a black and white one.... Like you know the photo effect old time photos

is anyone else having problems making the dock icons transparent? i thought that used to be an option when long pressing the icon.

What launcher are you using?

Launcher pro +

Have you tried setting the icon you want to the black wallpaper that comes in the dock package? Or after setting the transparent icon did you restart your launcher?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
Yea I put a transparent gif icon file in the first zip file I believe. Let me know if that isn't working. Set your dock shortcuts then use it as the custom icon for each so the dock shows through but the app is still there.
I'll see if I can make some more docks soon.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk
Lol remember the black and white one like those old school photos but yeah man set the shortcut then set the custom icon and that should work...
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
Heya, Thanks for these dock bars, been looking for something like this for ages!
Not sure if it's still allowed to ask, but is it possible to make them with these icons (left/right, but then proper) as well? -->
Much thanks <3
I have been away for a bit. I'll see what I can come up with.

[Q] where is the mail widget?

Does HTC dump it in Sense 5? I can't see the task and note widget either. What happened?
Besides, it seems difficult to arrange the panels. I can't move the panel anymore.

Yes, I mean the widgets not the app. Can you see the widgets on your side?
For the panel move, I mean I can't switch the position of two panels. say, I want to move the 3rd panel to the 2nd position. I could do it in sense 4 but can't do it now. Kind of weird.

I really don't quite get why HTC would ditch them. This is really not a good change IMHO.

I agree. It's really stupid. Last time they ditched the Calendar widget so I ended up having to use the stock Android one. Now they've brought the Calendar widget back but it's useless.
They have now ditched the mail, tasks and notes widgets which aside from Calendar were my main widgets and they have got rid of the large (full screen) music widget.
There's no logic and no consistency. Sense is rapidly becoming a complete waste of time.

Ya...HTC removed a LOT of the widgets I had grown to rely on....Stocks, Agenda, 4x4 music to name a few.. wonder why....

Along with system apps I don't want, I usually delete stock widgets as well. Why would you want that crap slowing your phone down? Just place a shortcut to the gallery on your home screen.

I do miss the tasks widget. I like the htc app, but have to use a gtasks widget now.

IMO, I think they've taken a lot of the widgets that weren't as mainstream as they used to be off. This was all part of the design process to slim down Sense.

I agree and that photo album widget or whatever it is on the lockscreen says you can browse photos but I have yet to accomplish that without unlocking to home page :crying: Kinda useless on the lockscreen in my humble opinion. I guess a developer could tweak it so it could be put on a main screen but then again I don' see any user options either. Uh...
There are a couple in the playstore that are kinda cool. I have been keeping my eye on this one and it looks promising as far as user options and tweaking. It looks like it recently got tweaked for 4.2.2 so it is up to date in that regard. I am going to check it out and see how it runs on 4.1.2.

Ah yes, Photo Grid widget. I used it on AOSP ROM's for a while. just wasn't quite the same though. haven't used it in a while though, maybe some updates did it some good, I'll try it again I guess.
I did try that photo grid and it is pretty cool. It did appear laggy a few times and it did force close a couple of times. Hopefully we can get our phone updated to 4.2.2 and then this will be a great option. Anyways we gave it a try....

Picture frame

So I got my HTC one yesterday. Sold my s2 t989 to get it. Setup up everything and transfer all information over.
Then I try to add my picture frame to the screen, well I can't find the widget.
Did HTC remove this widget? I thought it was a stander android widget.
Well is it hidden somewhere or not included. If not include what can I do as a replacement?
